Long time no full-on aura migraine. It's fascinating to watch the visual flickering dropouts start, and then to the total aphasia and inability to speak or read, and then once that passes, the numb fingertips. And then either I'll be totally fine or the actual headache part will hit. But I've taken my codeine in good time, I hope...

Somehow managed to keep working without having to read much, or speak to anyone for an hour, and am now waiting for my words to come back online completely without having to check every single word to make sure it makes sense and is spelled right.

I think it's a one-two punch of new blood pressure meds and ignoring how wildly stressed I actually am over everything due over the last three weeks of Stats class EVER.

Migraine aura just hit. Hopefully the migraine hits and resolves before work tomorrow morning. We aren’t in a position to take any time off right now. And we don’t have any rescue meds.

My migraine aura is so weird. I start seeing these little rainbow flecks/floaters all across my field of vision.

Had this awful sense of dejavu since I woke up.

Multiple times about different things & now I'm worried I'm gonna have another seizure.

I'm not used to this (nor do I want to be but might have to start).

I'm not 100% sure what "auras" or the warning signs look like for me, but going off the previous, I'm starting to notice things. Things that were actually put down to CPTSD might have been epilepsy all along.

It's starting to worry me a bit more that my upcoming MRI actually won't be clear this time. Whilst it might provide an answer I've otherwise been without, I'm kinda shitting myself as to what that answer will be. I also need to buy a bunch of plastic jewellery in prep cos I am pierced x16, not got energyyyy

bodies are weird: Covid edition

I have thyroid problems. One of the special 'wow, what the fuck" things that will happen every now and then if we fuck up my levels just wrong is I will get migraine auras without pain. I don't normally get migraines at all, so we absolutely know its a "you fucked up your medication levels" as it would happen if we adjusted my levels too fast. (migraines are a rare known side effect on most thyroid medications, but thyroid problems and migraines often occur together, so its often hard to detect that its medication, not just body being stupid)

anyway.

I currently have Covid.

Covid can fuck up your thyroid levels.

So I got a fucking weird aura from THAT.

I took drugs to stop progression of migraine and lay down in the dark for about an hour but my vision was FUCKED UP. it was fine later. it would have been scary as hell if it was not something I'd had happen before. (it basically looks like someone attempted to shrink wrap the world and did a terrible job)

Bodies are weird. what the fuck.

It’s something that happens right before the attack starts and usually involves light flashes and other distortions of perception. For example, body size might be perceived differently. Oh, and another interesting thing: do you remember this effect when you stare at something, then you shift your gaze somewhere else and the silhouette of the previous scene persists?
