you were gone a little longer today than usual, already knowing before you left that it would be a long day with you absent from home and your loves.

finnick, ever the resourceful dad, already knew he would need to do something to keep your son distracted, to ward off the tears that were due to come one he realized that mommy was leaving and not returning until dinner.

which, mikey did cry a little when you walked out of the door, but you were kissing him and finnick was rubbing his back, lowly saying something about crafts. you would've picked up on it more, if your heart wasn't breaking at the tears and wobbly chin, and your mind wasn't running with things you needed to get done.

but you come home to the smell of lemon chicken and the sound of finnick and mikey's laughter, your hands full of bags and your heart swelling.

"can someone come help mommy with the bags?" comes your yell, the sound of two pairs of feet, one larger and one smaller, against the hardwood floor letting you know that your boys were on the way. but they stop, and finnick says something, and then only one set of feet are coming your way.

finnick kisses you, takes all of your bags, and urges you to come into the dining room, a knowing smile on your face as he watches confusion come onto yours. the confusion is quickly replaced with joy when you see the set up that finnick has on the wooden table.

a plastic tarp and cardboard down to protect the table, glue and necklace strings laid around, hook and eyes in silver and gold, and seashells and shark teeth scattered across the surface.

"are you doing arts and crafts? without me?" you’re faking hurt, but you actually are a little upset that you missed out. until mikey turns around from the chair he sits in, holding two necklaces out for you.

"we made you necklaces!" he tells you, small hands delicately holding the jewerly. in one hand is a seashell necklace, a pretty blue seashell in the middle of the black robe. almost identical to it is the shark tooth necklace mikey holds in his other hand.

you crouch to his height, admiring the work done with bright eyes and an even brighter smile. "thank you, baby! it's perfect."

"it matches, see?" and mikey is thrusting his chest out to you, showing you the little shark tooth necklace he wears. you "wow" at it, truly feeling warmth take over your body. "and daddy has one too!" and you look over at finnick, body getting even warmer when you notice the little piece of jewelry that sits proudly against the strong column of his throat.

finnick offers to put the necklaces on for you, and you turn around to let him do so, giddy to see them against your skin in the mirror. which, they're perfect, little tokens from your two favorite boys in the world.

Michael and his bully bro buddies were in a band together before Nate's death kinda threw the vibes of their friend group off. Mike still loves playing bass though <3

After he accidentally killed Nate he got a tattoo commemorating him on his arm <3 He has other stuff like a little fox on his nape and some flowers on his ankle that his mum did for him <3

Mike actually loves theatre and being theatrical but he refuses to engage with that side of him for the longest time cus he doesn't wanna be like his dad. He microdoses via cheesy sitcoms.

He was willingly working with William like up until he got scooped. He felt like he was making up for accidently killing his brother by scraping remnant of the robots and doing whatever his dad said.

Going on from that, yeah he knew about the ghosts and had a pretty good idea his dad was the person who killed Charlie and all those other kids in the 80s but he never got confirmation of this till he sought Henry out in the 2010s.

After losing all his bones Mike couldn't do a lot of the things he likes doing (drawing/bass/chewing gum) so Jerry helps by letting him teach him how to do those things.

Mikey (and all the Afton kids) are Jewish on their mum's side :] Obvs cus Mike lives longer he's more involved with it than his siblings.

He worked as a waiter at Juniors from when he was 17-19.

He deals with all the shit that he's gone through mostly through comedy and being a little snarky. Jeremy enables him.

He has immaculate T-Boy swag.

Post-zombification he keeps having to sew parts of his body back on as his skin tears.

Hahaha, no problem! I loved your posts, and Mike’s my fave character over legit all other characters (plus my biggest fictional crush, blorbo, and comfort character), so I adore seeing people talking about him and theorizing over his involvement in the movie timeline! I’m still holding out hope about the Schmidt kids being Aftons!! I was legit theorizing and speculating out loud under my breath in the movie theater the entirety of the run time on premiere night, haha!
