I talk a lot about how women shouldn’t be ashamed of their age, but the truth is that’s easier said than done.
I made too many jokes about boomers and now I’m fucking PETRIFIED of the natural human life cycle and aging (especially as an unmarried woman with a tendency to compare myself to others and be competitive).
I would love to hear some positive thoughts about aging to put my mind at ease from any baby boomer women who read this.

So its been almost a week since I asked one of my coworkers (almost 70) if he's ever seen Goncharov when we were talking about movies I've never seen. I even gave him a sticky note with the movie title, director, year of release, and the starring actors before I went home.
I asked him today if he's seen it yet and answers "No but I was looking at the note you gave me and it sounds familiar so I might have and not remember since I've seen so many movies. It has all these big names and sounds good!
See I even put your note right here on my folder to remind me when I got some free time!"
He sounded so excited to watch it, I don't know how to tell him.

We spent 8 seasons watching how everybody south and north of the wall scorned Jon for being a bastard and how even the doubt of the future king being illegitimate (while having the very plausible excuse of looking like his mother) burst a giant war where almost everybody dies and now we are supposed to believe Rhaenyra putting bastards (that don’t even look like her) on the throne has no political repercussions whatsoever?

So last night a psychiatrist told us that young people today are terrified of faliure because when they used to make mistakes in their childhood their parents lived that as a personal faliure in raising them, and children picked that up so, since they did not want to disappoint their mum and dad, they learnt that making mistakes = the end of the world
This is why the youth of today tends to be made up of (depressed) perfectionists

The idea is, and I cannot believe it, go back to school.
The only difference now is that I am old enough to not blindly listen to my elders. I am making researched, informed decisions on what programs to take.
I hope Gen Alpha and Gen Z don't get bullied into college like us Millennials. But I don't think many of them will. They are an amazing and intelligent generation and I am very proud of them.

So…
My friend just shared a “funny compilation” of parents publicly shaming their mostly minor children on the internet? Like wtf? Also several of these parents were publicly shaming their underage minor children for not having sex or for being single? It was my understanding that most parents are against their children having sex young, but apparently I was wrong about that.
It was just so unnecessary mean and dehumanising and also confusing. I want to stab every single one of these parents and fucking rip their guts out. I hope they all die very soon. Have parents always been like this?
How small must you feel to mock and ridicule your underage minor child for not having sex or being single?

Love how millennials pissed and shit themselves for years about how older age groups treated them and still ended up being just as Boomer-ish and conservative as the people they whined about.

Growing up as a millennial being told not to believe everything on TV... then getting older (I'm 26 now) and telling my Gen X loved ones not to believe everything they see online and telling my Boomer relatives not to believe everything they read in the establishment newspapers 🙏
I am HOLDING this family together fml

sorry but the 'pro LGBTQXFD+ pro palestine progressives' being so quick to be like 'woahh man that's so deep and true' when reading bin laden's letter to america still drives me insane
mostly i guess i shouldn't be, but i'm just shocked the 'perspective shift' their agreement caused went the wow maybe al-qaeda was based! way instead of the wait a minute, so my 'leftist' politics are indistinguishable from/highly compatible with islamist psyops way
this is why i say a lot of leftists are outright shills for propagandists of ultraconservative movements, including islamist ones, and they don't even question it

Pretty funny video. that unfortunately is a little too true. 😂
But they should have also included a father from The Silent Generation or The Greatest Generation (the father’s who raised the Boomers). Those dads didn’t typically interact with their kids as much as even the Boomer dad did in the video. Mostly they would tell their kids to just go outside and play (with absolutely no supervision) regardless of the weather. ☀️❄️☔😳😉
_______________
Full disclosure: I’m a Boomer woman born in the middle of my generation, which spans 18 years from ages 58-76. BTW, please stop confusing us with The Silent Generation who are 77 years-old and up--and much more conservative than the mid-to late Boomers.

I think a lot of Millenials general annoyance with Gen Z actually comes from a lack of understanding of Gen Z humor
