the hunger games: the battle of the gays & allies [woso] | episode one

prompt: the hunger games but woso style

author notes: this is another bullshit post but like i actually put some effort into it ☝🏽🤓 okay so basically i used a hunger games simulator and put 12 woso bestie duos into so now imma just talk about the results in fic style with this being about day one and night one of the simulator then I'll do the others in lil episodes. this is the most stupid thing i have ever posted but still! enjoy it y'all, don't take anything too serious 💗

HOW THIS WORKS ────── DISTRICTS

okay, so basically in the hunger games districts are like where the tributes live or whatever like they are like states, but in my version the districts are just teams. each team sends out a duo to go and win the hunger games which is like a tournament. some of these teams are club but others are national. let's just act like the whole "tournament" is just for funsies and the girlies are just acting really really good. there are two teams from the d1 french league, two from the nwsl, four from the wsl, one from the liga mx femenil, one from the liga f, and two national teams.

DAY ONE: welcome to the hunger games!

it's day one of the tournament. all tributes are getting ready to be released out onto the grounds, ready for eleven days or less of pure survival. all of the best friends duos are saying their last words before they become the equivalent of frenemies out on the field. let's go check up on some of them!

firstly, we have alexia and mapi from the barcelona district. great friends, an iconic duo amongst fans. alexia is very focused on scouting out the land as best as she can from the little window provided in the rooms tributes are held in. meanwhile mapi is laying on the ground, throwing a ball at the wall and laughing once it comes back down almost hitting her. maybe it's like a distraction? we'll never know.

now we move onto trinity and ashley who are cuddling together for the last time. these two seem very close, making jokes and all before they have to basically fight to survive out there amongst everyone else.

our last checkup is going to be on katrina and mackenzie. we have katrina trying to make a plan on how she is going to survive since she wants to get out and be there for her daughter harper (who will be cheering her on the whole tournament) & her baby boy is on the way. mackenzie seems to be trying to help, but keeps cracking jokes or chewing on the complimentary snacks we left in the tributes rooms.

then finally all of the tributes are released! let's the games begin. alexia is coming in strong with the spainard scoring a bar mace from inside of the cornucopia before running off with her new treasure. her fellow district one tribute mapi finds a bag of food easily without struggle. going off into a direction opposite of alexia's. seems like the two do not plan to become an alliance during this tournament. sam and millie dash to the same bag of food & supplies, but millie somehow gets scared of sam despite her size and flees. leaving sam with the bag while millie will have to scavenge for her needs.

lynn breaks kelley's nose over a basket of bread. those two aren't getting along that well it seems. with a broken nose kelley is left without any food, having to run off to get away from lynn's violence. the planned out katrina rips a bag from mackenzie's hands the moment they both reach the cornucopia. leah from district five easily finds a bag of food. holding onto it tightly before running away to find somewhere to hide it. for some reason lia grabs a bottle of alcohol, maybe to drown out her pain? and also is able to get a blade that will be useful later on.

lindsey immediately kills her fellow district six tribute danielle with a hatchet she finds. she overpowers the smaller danielle and stabs her in the heart, leaving dani on the ground before moving on to somewhere else. she took care of the predicament that would trouble her later on the tournament; whether to kill her fellow tribute or let danielle kill her? lindsey picked the former. alessia finds a bag full of camping equipment which will be useful for the long nights on the grounds. meanwhile her bestie ella takes a few explosives from the cornucopia. keeping them for safe keeping.

trinity gathers as much food as she can before going off into the forest. ashley grabs supplies furthest away from the cornucopia before escaping away into the forest as well without anyone seeing or catching her. maybe they'll stick together inside of there. the district nine tribute alanna thinks about grabbing something, but doesn't. running off to get away from the violence near the cornucopia. her fellow tribute mary tries to go for an axe, but elisa goes from it as well. mary decides to take the hint and retreats quickly. sakina seems to want to be katniss part two and gets arrows from the cornucopia, but no bow unfortunately.

ali grabs some handy throwing knives and retreats away from everyone else. her younger fellow tribute alyssa grabs a sickle while fernanda from district twelve gets a slingshot which won't do much against the other weapons in this tournament, but the effort is appreciated.

jenni focuses on supplies and gets a first aid kit instead of a weapon. running off somewhere that will hopefully be as safe as a place can be in this tournament.

mapi tries to betray her bestfriend alexia by sneaking up on her, but alexia is too smart and catches her in on the act. killing her easily. the spainard's first kill of someone from her own district, joining lindsey in figuring out the dreaded choice.

while people are dying, sam is chilling around practicing her knife throwing & archery. she does this by throwing knives at trees farther and farther away from her before using a bow & arrow she made from using her knife to carve out wood from a tree. meanwhile millie searches for food since sam took the bag of food from her.

lynn injures herself near the lake after tripping over a log. thankfully it's not an acl injury, but her knee does hurt. kelley has bandaged up her nose using leaves, moving onto searching for water & firewood. katrina and mackenzie get over their little fight earlier, creating a fort out of sticks & leaves which might not hold up under weather but is okay for the night. leah steals water and food from her own fellow tribute lia while lia isn't looking.

lindsey makes a wooden spear from tree branches to protect herself. alessia and ella decide to not go against each other. forming an alliance that will benefit both the whole tournament. trinity's loyalty is not as stable as once thought as she steals food & water from ashley while ashley isn't looking. sneaking back off into the further parts of the forest afterwards. alanna sees smoke rising in the distance of the west and wonders who did it, but refuses to investigate. mary works alongside district ten's elisa just for the day.

sakina finds her a water source that can support her throughout the tournament. setting up camp there as best as she can. ali runs away from her fellow tribute alyssa. leaving the youngster to fend for herself. fernanda also practices her knife throwing and archery. while jenni has a mini panic attack over the situation she's in.

NIGHT ONE: it's getting chilly

alexia passes out from pure exhaustion and the guilt of having to kill her bestfriend. sam questions her sanity, why would she choose to do this? while these two have their mid life crisis; millie, lynn, and kelley are all fighting but millie is quickly becoming more and more aggressive. lynn runs off out of fear while kelley is killed by millie. the district two tribute overpowers kelley and strangles her to death.

katrina cries herself to sleep while thinking of her children and fiancee. curling up into a ball in that little fort of branches and leaves. mackenzie was able to find and hunt a rabbit earlier. now she's cooking it on a fire she built. leah tries to speak but keeps waking up because of nightmares terrorizing her. eventually she is able to doze off but feels unsettled. while leah is fighting for her life mentally, her fellow tribute lia gets a five course gourmet meal from an unknown sponsor in the middle of the night; seems like someone is trying to help her out in this tournament. perhaps her lover? we'll never know.

lindsey also received something from an unknown sponsor in the middle of the night; clean water. she uses some of this water to drink and saves the rest for tomorrow. alessia and ella create a fort to sleep in for the night. cracking jokes while they try to drift off. they are still happily close and are enjoying their alliance. trinity, ashley, alanna, and mary all joke with each other over a fire. they are getting along well, but this is still an competition so they don't expect them to stay friendly. elisa and sakina decide to support eachother by making a peace treaty to ride out the night.

an unknown sponsor sends ali clean water. she uses half to drink and saves the rest. lacking a water source near her, she needed this. alyssa stays awake all night on pure adrenaline. holding herself in a ball while rocking back and forth. too scared to try to sleep. fernanda convinces jenni to snuggle with her for the night.

and that's the end for today! episode two will be out tomorrow, we'll see how our tributes survive the next day. rest in peace to lyon's danielle [killed by her fellow district tribute lindsey], barcelona's mapi [killed by her fellow district tribute alexia], and gotham's kelley [killed by district two's millie]. they will be sent back to their districts by tomorrow.

Ellie flicks through her impromptu case files.

“According to the property records, there hasn’t been anyone named Millie living here in over fifty years. There was a Millicent, who turned in the key to #19 Bullpens in ‘47. The property records didn’t say why, but a settler’s convoy did pass through here the same day, on their way to Amherst.”

Harper scoops up liquid formula in a teaspoon, and tips it into Sonya’s mouth. Her ears are still ringing from the nonstop crying, carried on while she bathed and changed Sonya, ripped up some scrap fabric for diapers, and tried to soothe her until Nick came back with formula from Doctor Duff.

“Not too much of a stretch that she left with them, then. Maybe an aunt, grandmother?”

“I couldn’t say. The property office doesn’t exactly take down their life stories. And until Publick Occurences set up shop, all we had was word of mouth.”

And Nick’s got that covered at the moment, hitting the streets for clues about Sonya’s mother.

Harper taps the baby’s chin, trying to encourage her to eat more. “If they were going west to Amherst, they’d likely pass by Quabbin Reservoir. Add it to that note, and I think Quabbin is a decent lead. Even if we don’t know where Millie actually came from. Or if she’s the one who left Sonya here.”

Ellie frowns at her, worriedly. “Why wouldn’t her mother have…” Looking at Harper, she seems to catch herself, and drops her eyes to the floor. “Sorry. You’re right.”

Harper presses her lips into a line, nods.

“Our stork dropped a name and a settlement, and left Sonya in plain sight. Not only in plain sight, but in plain sight of a bunch of detectives, who wouldn’t ignore her. They could just as well have thrown her to the hounds over the Wall. I don’t think they meant any harm, even if they weren’t Sonya’s mother. So what did they mean?”

The legend of England was spotted in the stands next to the seven-year-old, who was wearing a top of England to show her support.

Hes not totally sure what he’s building, but he’s pretty sure it won’t burn the garage down. Soldering a metal piece into place, he hears the house door open.

“Jaibae?”

“Yes, my beautiful wife?”

He hears her scoff without turning away from his project, “Cheeseball. What are you working on?”

“Well, I haven’t figured that out yet.” Jai laughs, “Why?”

“Your daughters want to ask you something.”

Almost instantly Jai’s on his feet, How is it she’s gotten more beautiful since they started dating? Balancing their 18-month-old son on her hip, she shakes her head, smiling, “They’ve got you wrapped around their fingers, huh, babe?”

“Them and this little guy.” Jai agrees, tickling Luke. The toddler squeals and tries to push his daddy away. Following his wife into the living room, he’s shocked to see their 3-year-old twins dressed up so nicely. “Why, Mommy! Who are these beautiful girls?”

“It me, Miwwy, Dadee.” The younger twin chirps as he kneels in front of them.

“So it is, Millypede. You and Lilypad look so beautiful!”

“Dere a reason, Dadee!” The older twin puffs her chest up. Yep. Definitely Lian’s daughter. They disappear momentarily before returning with a bouquets of sunflowers. “Dis for you!”

“Oh, girls!” Jai takes the flowers, glancing at Lian. She knows something, he can tell, but she’s not going to let him know. “Thank you! These are my favorites!”

Bouncing on the balls of her feet, Milly chirps, “We know! Momee tell us. She say you and her no do Balentime day.”

“No, Mommy and I don’t do anything for Valentine’s Day normally.” Where are the dolls going with this?

Ever the brave one, Lily takes Jai’s hand, “Dadee? You be me an Sissy Balentime?”

“We wanna take you out!” Milly grabs onto his arm, beaming at him. “Our tweat!”

Holy shit. How the hell did he get two baby girls like them? Holding back tears, Jai nods, “Yes, dolls, I’ll be your Valentine’s Day date. Give me some time to shower and change, okay?”

“Yeah! You tinky!” The girls disappear upstairs in mini cracks of lightning. Jai stands and looks at his wife, tears in his eyes.

“They asked me last week if they could have you for Valentine’s Day.” Lian says. She wipes her husband’s cheeks with her thumb, “They’re taking you to a pho restaurant and ice cream, I gave them money for everything, let them spoil you.”

“…I don’t deserve you…any of you…”

Shaking her head, Lian looks at Luke, “Padawan, Daddy doesn’t think he deserves Mommy or you or your sisters. What do you say?”

The little boy blinks at his mother, then points at Jai, “Mah dada.”

“Yes, that is your daddy. You love him?”

“Wub Dada.”

Lian turns back to her husband, “The child has spoken. You deserve us and you’re stuck with us. Now go get cleaned up for your daughters! Padawan here and me have a hot date of our own. Snuggles, movies, and milk a la tit.”

Bart for sure knows he’s attractive, in the chaotic Pan way which Jaime loves. Jaime knows people think he’s hot but he doesn’t always agree.

Donny and Mel are both on this side for different reasons. Donny has some scars, not a lot but a few, that make it hard for him to feel attractive. Plus before Mel he was dating only civilians (who he had to hide his powers from) and that made him insecure with other things. Mel has a lot of body image issues thanks to her father, most of which she works through with a therapist.

Next gen people:

Finn, Sawyer, and Kat most definitely know they’re hot, which they attest to their grandparents 😂 they grew up with Luca and Matt teaching them that being attractive is personality more than looks. They just happen to have both.

The baby dolls and Luke know…but that doesn’t stop the girls from bickering over who’s the prettier twin…even though they’re identical.

Ziva is too busy running science experiments to care. People have told her and her response is usually “and?”

Roro and Aza grew up with their mothers teaching them ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder.’ They both know they’re attractive, but Azalea doesn’t have the confidence to try a whole lot of out their looks. Roro, again, doesn’t care…unless you’re an asshole in which case she’ll make it her mission to make your day miserable.

Asha definitely knows and, like the Best boy kids, says she had great genes.

Ben and Max grew up with Milagro teaching them how to feel confident in themselves, to celebrate their individual looks, and to dress like themselves, whoever that is at the moment. Ben also grew up with family telling him he has the most beautiful eyes (hetero chromia). Max definitely likes his clothing style more.

The Kent kids are interesting—

Charlie has a lot of burn scars on her back from Cadmus, which she hates letting people see even family. For her to let the scar show around people is a big trust thing.

Peter knows he’s attractive in the artistic sense, like the Davinci model thing, but he has a lot of issue with his body because of past trauma.

M&M has a scar on her sternum from heart surgery she had as a kid (who wants those headcannons?), but isn’t insecure about it. It’s a part of her story and she is better than ever.

Laney knows she’s attractive, thank you genes, but the issue lies with her overall relationship with her body. She is still affected by Kryptonite even though she doesn’t have Jon or Mar’i’s powers. Cadmus presses a piece of it against her skin and it left a burn on her stomach. It’s something that makes things complicated, really

On his worst days, Jai always wonders why? Why he bothers getting through the day, especially when he's been knocked down over and over? Why he fights for people that hate him? Why he's still here?

As a teenager, he could usually find an answer for the last one. Had to finish an experiment. His parents would miss him. He promised Lian he'd see her next show. Couldn't leave the last DnD session on a cliffhanger. There's that new game coming out that he'd miss.

Now? It's coming home from work to find his pregnant wife, asleep in their bed, one of his old t-shirts stretched over her belly. Their 15-month-old twin daughters curled up with her. Sitting on the bed, he fixes the blanket over Lily.

"There we go, Lilypad." He gently adjusts Lian's Zofran pump, checking the levels and output.

Milly nuzzles her face against Lian's belly. Yawning, she blinks at him, "Dadee?"

"Hey, Millypede," He brushes hair from her face. "You girls have fun with Mommy today?"

"Yeah." She yawns again, gripping the stolen t-shirt. "Miss you."

"I missed you too."

"Jaibae?" His wife shifts in her sleep, which wakes Lily. The toddler pouts as she rolls over, out like a light in seconds.

"Hey, babe. Didn't mean to wake you up." He runs a hand over her belly, "How's Little Man treating you?"

"Okay. Been really nauseous today." Dark eyes take in his face. Reading him the way only she can. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just got in my head. That's all."

"Go shower, babe. The girls and I might be up by then."

That makes him smile. A quick kiss then he heads to the shower.

Soon his daughters will be up, climbing over their mother and babbling at him. He'll help Lian out of bed, laughing at the inevitable whale joke she makes. Playtime with the girls. Chasing them around the house, filling it with squeals of joy. Catching Lian as she walks by. Stealing a kiss and murmuring how much he loves her. Dinner made together, hoping Lian might keep something down. Get the girls settled before spending time with his wife.

But first, the family will lay in bed. Curled together and exchanging stories about their day. Tiny, curious hands taking his. Babble he won't totally understand. But he knows that look in their eyes. Seen it in pictures and videos and the mirror. That innate curiosity to learn and explore and question everything. Lian will grunt each time Luke kicks her. Jai might make a joke, saying their son's telling her to stop stealing his clothes...knowing damn well he's going to leave one out for her tomorrow.

In a few months, they'll add to the chaos. Three under two. More diapers, crying, bottles, endless laundry. More late-night feedings, blowouts, gas bubbles that won't stop.

If he's honest, he can't wait.
