Everyone calls him washed up now (lol) so this was designed with Mindcrack's UHC in mind. He's always acknowledged that he was better with ranged weapons than hand-to-hand combat hence the bow. If you haven't, go watch his UHCs.
I think everyone should watch the clip of doc explaining how one time he was hanging out w mindcrack guys at a Disneyland bar and some guys started calling the barman the n slur and then Bdubs the f slur so doc “German suplexed them through the freaking table”
So, I keep seeing Bdubs' clock addiction get sourced back to 3rd Life, and while he certainly has made it a more exaggerated part of his character since then, that's not when it started.
I've been casually poking through some older content, mostly old ctms, and I was surprised to see this in the Kaizo Caverns series OOGE did in 2012 a whole decade ago. (Episode link).
I'm extremely, and I really cannot stress this enough, extremely new to hermitcraft and I'm sure this clip has been brought up before. But, I'm really curious, does anyone have a source for when the clock thing became a known fact about Bdubs? Google has just brought be back to 3rd life haha.
I actually have one other question for those who are familiar with the mindcrack era, I'm interested in knowing when "Bdubs" became his default nickname. I've noticed it was used in text posts about him from way back, but even then it looked like Boo (or B00) was the preferred shorthand, and I haven't seen anyone around then actually verbally call him Bdubs. Mostly just Bdoubleo or the occasional use of his first name.
Sorry for the wordy post, I'm just very curious about all the little things and I unfortunately do not have the time to watch a years worth of 10-12yo minecraft content haha.
Shout out to Etho, who (as a zombie) saw Grian and Cleo, and didn't give them up to the other boogeys and protected them instead. That is true loyalty right there.
MCYTBLR FLASHBACK FEST is a week-long fanart, fanfiction and other fanwork event for fans of Minecraft video content, running from May 14th to 20th, 2023. Organized by @conarcoin.
This event aims to highlight older sub-fandoms by using one key rule – your source material must have been made from 2010 to 2019.
The only other restrictions are that your content must not be sexually explicit, and your content must not focus on the real lives of content creators. Works should be set in Minecraft!
The tag for this event is #mcytflashbackfest. You can contribute as much or as little as you would like. More information about posting will be provided as the event draws closer.
Additional information under the cut:
The 2019 cutoff does not include content created at the very tail end of 2019 and primarily existed in 2020, such as SMPEarth. Your fandom of choice must have had significant time to exist within the 2010s.
Content without a set RP canon, such as Team Crafted or Technoblade's Potato War is okay so long as your work is set inside Minecraft.
Creators such as SkyDoesMinecraft who have later been outed as abusers should not be present. Characters a creator like this may have played from established RP canons like Mianite or Yandere High School are fine. Series like SMPLive toe this line - please err on the side of caution and just exclude them if you are unsure!
Series that span many years such as Hermitcraft are acceptable, but the season/era you focus on must fall in the time frame of the event. For Hermitcraft, that means nothing after Season 6!
If you are unsure if a fandom is okay, please send an ask to this blog and I'll look into it!
Themed bases - medieval, sci-fi, underwater, modern etc.
Aftermath of destruction - cleaning up after pranks, explosions, party etc.
Religious builds - ex: church of prime or church of the blood sheep or mumbo's s7 beating heart base
I will be tracking the tag (#mcytbuildsmonth) up to two weeks after the event is finished, so don't be pressured to post on the correct dates. Open to questions if you have any.
