“It was an option to include George in the songwriting team. John and I had really talked about it. I remember walking up past Woolton Church with John one morning and going over the question. ‘Without wanting to be too mean to George, should three of us write or would it be better to keep it simple?’ We decided we’d just keep to two of us.” - Paul McCartney, The Beatles Anthology (x)
You know, I think I'm starting to realize that George is perhaps the ideal protagonist for a Beatles biopic of some kind, because it offers more of a fair intimate exploration of all four of the guys and their relationships with one another than if it's just the Lennon-McCartney drama again and again. Plus his own identity-building journey just has a lot of compelling potential by itself!
Me and one of my friends were talking about the idea of John and Paul being in a relationship because they were so close and we joke about summoning John and just asking him and I found that funny so I made a comic.
Btw the “Let me rephrase the question, is Paul your husband?” Was a direct quote from my friend. Also, it was just supposed to be the first panel that’s colored but I added to it so now there is more.
there's something about the last true beatles recording ever being released being called "now and then" when the last words john ever said to paul were "think about me every now and then, old friend" that's just so haunting but in a beautiful, serendipitious way
speaking of cds i know that im known on here as a vinyl guy and i dont have a cd player in my personal stereo, however thats because my parents are disc-heads with a 5 disc changer and a cd collection numbering in the 500s. and ive been banned from getting my own cds til i move out because we literally dont have enough space
