Hello! I am trying to find an old NCIS fic that I can't remember the name of or the author 😆 it's a Gibbs x Kate smutty fic where they both take the week off work and Abby calls it a 'sexcation'. At some point Kate says gunny but Gibbs mistakes it for Tony and gets a little jealous. Any guidance would be very appreciated!

@minikate--24-05 sorry for taking so long to reply! I was actually thinking about what I liked the most about s1-3 and I still can't choose one thing. I think I loved it as a whole? the way the first season set up the characters really well without going too deep until the finale when we learn house's backstory. and then s2-3 build up on that strong foundation and we watch the characters grow individually and together. I also loved the simplicity of it, I mean ofc the medical cases and house himself are very extra but we keep watching for the interactions between the characters. the central theme is the bonds between people. and not just the main cast but also with the patients. the first episode that made me tear up a little and go "wow what a good show" was the christmas ep in s1. when we learn that chase was in seminary school and he has this moment with the nun, it was just very touching and a nice way of showing another side of him. every episode I wondered who was going to connect with the patient this time.

i'm already in the middle of s4 and while i'm very much enjoying it, it definitely isn't the same. obviously i'm biased because my favourite characters are pretty much guest stars now, but i also feel the simplicity element is missing sometimes. like house was literally called by the CIA? and most of the patients are pretty forgettable. again i'm sure they did their best because they had to change the formula somehow, and it's still very good but s1-3 had sth special imo.

thank you so much for your Catradora post. I'd never seen Catradora as a healthy ship, the more I watched of the last season the more rejection I felt towards it all. but all I saw from the fandom was Catradora praise. I really thought I was alone with my opinions. but you worded everything so perfectly. seriously. thank you. it's like the shippers can't see that Catra had 0 character development and just because SHE likes Adora, Adora doesn't have to love her back.

Yeah, absolutely. You're 100% right. And it's the kind of hard message I wish She-Ra had been brave enough to teach younger audiences. It seemed like it was going to for 4 seasons, in fact.

I think it's important to be critical of representation in any form of media.

Beyond that, I have very personal reasons for finding c//a pretty repulsive as a concept/ship/canon endgame. I know many others either feel the same, or just didn't like the arcs/writing.

I think both (and even other) reasons are equally as valid as those that do ship c//a. And I agree with you that the overwhelming majority has been very loudly singing it's undeserved praises. And if anyone objects to it, they are often personally attacked and subjected to hate. Which is absolutely ridiculous.

Past my personal reasons for disliking the ship. Season 5 was not written well, nor was c//a, nor was Catra's redemption (which I wanted so bad), nor was Adora's arc, nor was Catra and Glimmer's relationship, nor was the entire Prime plot, nor--shall I go on?

At the end of the day, you are entirely allowed to dislike the shows penultimate message/ship and you are absolutely not alone in those feelings. I have seen many, many, more fans speaking out since May. I think once the glow and glitter of having a canon wlw kiss wears off--a lot of new fans watching may feel the same way too.

Who knows, but I'm glad I could bolster you a bit :-)

I'm happy to use my voice to let other fans of the show know that their feelings on c//a are just as valid, even if they're negative.

that’s totally understandable! i was obsessed with the first 2 films as a kid and i remember liking the 3rd one too but after that i lost interest and i think the 4th one was the last one i watched? so i kind of want to finish the series but mostly i just want to relive my childhood through the first 2 hehe

omg! Rebelde is such a crucial part of my generation's childhood (even though I never watched it lol but I know the main song). I'm from Spain and everyone talked about it during breaks in middle school

i was obsessed with it when i was 8-12, but i never watched the whole thing. In brazil it was huge! I remember going to my friend’s house and we pretended to be the characters (i was mia and she was roberta lol). I never watched the whole thing, the novela is a little cringy sometimes and it can be #problematic but it’s really sweet and funny and i love the nostalgia but i legit love the songs they are really really good and fun to listen to
