In the throne room of Lindblum Grand Castle, Minister Artania surveyed the present company. Zidane and Freya, their minds on Burmecia, wore twin expressions of concern on their faces. Garnet was visibly frustrated at being told to stay in Lindblum and Steiner was hovering protectively over her. Vivi stood off to the side, lost in his own thoughts. Regent Cid, even in his oglop form, retained an air of authority that brooked no disobedience. They were discussing the best way to get to Burmecia, which was currently under attack.
"We must leave for Burmecia at once," Freya was saying.
"Then you should take the Dragon's Gate since you're traveling by foot," the Regent advised. "Let us eat while we ‹gwok› wait for the gate to be opened."
"However, it will take some time to prepare the feast," said Artania. "Why don't you all go enjoy yourselves in the city while we wait? If you come back in two hours, the food should be ready." It should take their minds off the matter at hand, at least for a little while, he thought to himself, looking over the gloomy faces before him. Taking a break will do them a world of good.
"Yes, yes, Minister Artania is right. ‹gwok› Go and relax for a bit! We'll see you back in two hours."
After a moment, Vivi said awkwardly, "O-Ok, I guess I could find some other kids to play with..."
Freya put a hand on his shoulder. "Vivi, why don't you come with me? I'm pretty familiar with Lindblum and Ican show you around." He agreed with more enthusiasm, and they left the room with Freya explaining to him the different highlights of each district.
Zidane turned to a still very frustrated Garnet and cocked his head to one side. "So how about that date? Doesn't the winner of the Festival get to go out with the most beautiful girl in the kingdom?"

Australia evicts cruise ships.
With people across the globe in various forms of mandatory lock down, cruise ships are being laid up around the world, and popular cruise ports such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Southampton are now full of static cruise ships.
But Australia’s ports are noticeably empty of cruise ships, following a nation-wide eviction of cruise vessels from Australian ports. In Mid-March, the Australian Government banned cruise ships across the nation.
Tumblr media
The ban was announced at the same time as Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison instructed all travellers arriving into Australia to enter into a mandatory 14-day isolation period.
On 1 April the situation escalated when, in an unprecedented move, the New South Wales Police – who have jurisdiction over Sydney’s cruise ports – ordered P&O Australia’s Pacific Explorer to leave the harbour. In response, P&O Australia President released a video statement to express his disappointment and dismay, highlighting that P&O employs many Australians, and are the only line to have been permanently based in Australia.
For those of you who are interested see the full video: https://youtu.be/Af1oWtHll6Y
Pacific Explorer is by no means the only Australian based cruise ship to be caught in limbo. P&O’s Pacific Aria, which has been based in Australian waters since 2015, recently left Melbourne with her scheduled destination listed as Jakarta. Pacific Dawn is now slowly sailing up the east coast of Australia heading for the Bismark Sea near Papua New Guinea.
Carnival Spirit has been at anchor off Gladstone in Queensland and is expected to leave local waters in the coming days. View: https://youtu.be/09qsXmYMl9Y
youtube
Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth was scheduled to commence a circumnavigation of Australia in April, the first time the ship would circle the continent. However at the conclusion of her 15 March Tasmanian voyage, Queen Elizabeth was temporarily withdrawn from service as Cunard entered a voluntary cruising pause. In the weeks since, the ship has spent much of her time at anchor off Gladstone, in the company of other Carnival Corp ships.
In early April, the ship made a brief visit to Brisbane where she was refuelled before sailing northbound. While it is expected she will head towards Asia, her exact destination is not yet known. Queen Elizabeth is sailing with only her crew aboard and no one aboard has any medical concerns.
Cruise ships have been a challenge for governments around the country. In New South Wales, the Ruby Princess is at the centre of a criminal investigation, while in Western Australia the cruise ship Artania has been a topic of controversy due to a number of unwell passengers and crew aboard the ship.
The cruise industry has been an important part of the Australian economy, with the CLIA estimating that cruising added 5.2bn to the Australian economy supporting over 18,000 jobs, with 3.5m total passenger visits. With cruise ships being effectively evicted from Australian waters, it remains to be seen what long-term impact this will have on cruising in Australia once the current crisis passes.

Passengers on stricken cruise ship to leave Australia via Phuket
Hundreds of cruise ship passengers were due to board flights for Germany via Phuket on Sunday, after spending days stranded at sea off the West Australian coast in a stand-off with authorities.
The Artania docked in the port city of Fremantle on Friday after an earlier ban was reversed amid a spike in Covid-19 cases on board that saw three passengers taken onshore to intensive care wards.
A spokeswoman for Germany's Condor Airlines told AFP about 800 people would board four planes in the Western Australian capital, Perth, on Sunday evening bound for Frankfurt.
"We are flying them back home. These flights will be operated via Phuket in Thailand," she said.
An Australian Border Force official told AFP the passengers -- mostly German citizens, but also some French and Swiss nationals -- were due to disembark the Artania Sunday afternoon and would be transported directly to the airport.
They were expected to undergo health checks before being allowed to catch the charter flights.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the group would be "flying home courtesy of the German government", while any unwell passengers would receive medical treatment in Australia before being repatriated.
"It is important that Australia does the right thing about those who have fallen into our care," he said.
A WA Health spokeswoman said 12 passengers had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, with at least nine of them already transferred to hospitals in Perth.
Some 500 crew members are set to remain on board the ship, which authorities have urged to sail home at the earliest opportunity.
It was one of three ships initially refused entry to Australia this week amid fears over the spread of coronavirus in the country, which has recorded almost 4,000 cases and 16 deaths.
Cruise ships are responsible for nearly 500 cases of Covid-19 and at least five deaths in the country.
A group of 98 New Zealand passengers from the Vasco da Gama cruise ship were sent home on a charter flight from Perth early Sunday.
The remaining passengers -- almost 800 Australians and a handful of other nationalities -- are scheduled to disembark tomorrow, the Australian Border Force official said.
They will be split between Perth hotels and Rottnest Island, a former Aboriginal prison site and modern-day tourist destination, to complete their quarantine.
It comes as Australia began enforcing a mandatory 14-day supervised quarantine period for all returning travellers from Sunday.
They are being housed in hotels across the country after authorities reported a spate of returnees flouting self-isolation rules.

Australia to deploy armed forces in coronavirus compliance battle
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/australia-to-deploy-armed-forces-in-coronavirus-compliance-battle/
Australia to deploy armed forces in coronavirus compliance battle
Australia is introducing enforced quarantine by midnight on Saturday for citizens returning home from overseas and will deploy the armed forces to ensure people already subjected to self-isolation measures are complying.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Friday that returning Australians accounted for around two thirds of the country’s more than 3,000 coronavirus cases, making it the “biggest issue” to be addressed in the country’s fight against the pandemic.
“As time has gone on, the risk of those who are returning from other parts of the world actually increases,” Morrison said in a televised briefing.
Australia has already closed its borders to everyone but Australian citizens or residents returning home. Those returnees will now be detained in a hotel for two weeks, rather than trusted to go home and self-isolate.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) will be sent out to check recent returnees are complying with the previous order to self-isolate at their home for the same period of time, a rare step in a country where the military is not often seen on the streets.
“The ADF will be there to put boots on the ground,” Morrison said.
The rate of infections across Australia remains much slower than in many other countries, but officials are concerned that the number of cases has accelerated over the past week, particularly in the most populated states of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria. There have been 13 deaths nationally.
Despite the relatively low numbers, there has been frustration and anger over contradictory guidance from the federal government, state legislators and health officials in recent days over the necessary level of social distancing.
At the same media conference where Morrison announced returning Australians as the No. 1 issue to tackle, Australia’s chief medical officer Brendan Murphy said the priority from a health perspective was preventing any potential spike in local transmissions.
“We’re not kidding ourselves – if community transmission becomes significant, that is the real serious concern,” Murphy said. “That’s why these social distancing measures are just so important.”
That has been a particularly thorny issue for Morrison’s government, which has said that schools should remain open and has so far backed away from the more sweeping lockdowns on public movement seen in Europe.
The leaders of NSW and Victoria state have both said they are ready to push ahead with tighter curbs when – rather than if – they become necessary.
“We will get to a point where we need to do more,” Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews said after Morrison spoke.
Andrews said measures like the enforced quarantine for returning travellers were a “big step to take away someone’s liberty … but this is life and death. There is too much at stake to do otherwise.”
CRUISE SHIP CONCERNS
Cruise ships have become a flashpoint in Australia after almost 200 of 2,700 passengers who were allowed to disembark from Carnival Corp’s Ruby Princess in Sydney a week ago later tested positive for COVID-19.
Murphy noted on Friday that case numbers had “not been helped by a recent cruise ship”. The blunder sparked widespread anger, a blame game between state and federal authorities, and tighter scrutiny of cruise ships still in Australian waters.
One liner off the west coast, the German-owned MV Artania, was permitted to dock on Friday morning after a medical emergency on board. Seven passengers have tested positive for COVID-19, with one now in hospital in a critical condition.
Western Australia state Premier Mark McGowan said arrangements were being made for around 800 remaining passengers to be transferred to waiting planes for charter flights to Germany, the home country of the bulk of the tourists.
Australian passengers on board a second cruise ship in Western Australian waters, the Vasco da Gama, will be quarantined on the former prison island turned tourist destination of Rottnest island from Monday. Other passengers will be flown home.

Head Doctor Aboard Cruise Ship with COVID-19 Outbreak Dies
Though cruise sailings have been largely suspended, fatalities related to COVID-19 outbreaks on board cruise ships have continued to rise - an expected consequence of the large number of infections and suspected infections on board dozens of vessels worldwide.
Costa Fascinosa
The head shipboard doctor from the cruise ship Costa Fascinosa has died after being transferred to shore for medical treatment in Santos, Brazil. On Thursday, Italian media outlets identified the deceased as Paolo Mudanò, 70, a resident of Genoa. The cause of death has not been confirmed.
The Costa Fascinosa has been quarantined at the port of Santos since March 19 due to an outbreak of COVID-19 on board. A local court initially ordered all of her crew to stay on the ship, but Costa has since made arrangements to begin repatriating her crew. 227 Filipino crewmembers took a flight back to their home country on Saturday.
According to Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), there were nearly 60 suspected coronavirus cases on board the vessel as of last weekend.
Ruby Princess
A U.S. national who was on board the Ruby Princess during her last voyage has died due to complications from COVID-19. The deceased, American national Steven Lazarus, 76, was in treatment at a hospital in California for two weeks after his repatriation.
Lazaras was one of about 3,000 passengers who disembarked the Ruby Princess in Sydney, Australia on March 19. Over 600 have since tested positive for the novel coronavirus, making the ship Australia's largest single source of COVID-19 cases.
At least 19 coronavirus deaths have been linked to the vessel. The family of one other passenger who died after the cruise, 64-year-old American national Chung Chen, has filed suit against Princess Cruise Lines in connection with the outbreak.
1,000 crewmembers remain on board Ruby Princess, including about 140 individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. An effort is under way to test all of those remaining on board within 48 hours, according to the New South Wales government. Officials have ordered the ship to depart Australian waters by Sunday.
NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has launched a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ruby Princess' arrival and the disembarkation of her passengers. The province's homicide squad is leading the inquiry, and the team recently boarded the ship to seize VDR data and other potential evidence. Police have asked for public tips and have taken the unusual step of sending a survey to all passengers from the ship's two previous voyages seeking information.
Artania
A crewmember from the cruise ship Artania passed away Thursday at a hospital in Perth, Australia from COVID-19 complications.
The seafarer, a 42-year-old Philippine national, is Australia's youngest coronavirus victim. His name has not been released.
According to Australian health minister Roger Cook, the man's family was notified, and family members were able to get in contact with him before his death. "My thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends and fellow crew members in what must undoubtedly be a very difficult time for them," Cook said.
The Artania is currently docked at Fremantle, but she has been ordered to leave by Saturday.
