I'll be at the St. Cloud Art Crawl (presented by CMAB) on June 16th, from 16:00-20:00 (4pm-8pm). It will be located at Falcon National Bank in St. Cloud, MN. I'm hoping to have some new skincare and craft products ready to launch by then! Some prints, as well. 👀 I'm pretty hyped because it's been a minute since I've been out & about for events. 😅🤸🏻

#ThrowbackThursday ~ Me playing up my inner ‘midwestern mama’ for the TPT series Minnesota Original. Despite my clear lack of stage presence and my hair stylist being on strike, the segment won a regional Emmy Award in the Single Story category.

Minnesota Original is a weekly Twin Cities PBS series featuring micro-documentaries about local creators across all disciplines. Each half-hour episode usually consists of 3 segments, with each segment featuring a different person. The producers have their work cut out for them because each artist's segment averages 8 minutes thus only allows for a stripped-down portrayal of a person’s artistic mission. I found it extremely challenging as well because they wanted me to create a taxidermy sculpture from start to finish in 3 hours while cameras rolled (versus the 3 days the sculpture actually required) Desperate times called for desperate measures, in this case cheating and shortcuts. For practical reasons a lot of TV shots need to be faked and this shoot was no exception; after the crew left I had to disassemble the piece they filmed me working on and redo it properly. “The magic of television”😉

WOWZA A NEW DESIGN! Delightful Devotion – This is a bouquet of “King Tut” blue sweet peas that I have grown in my garden. They are a special hybrid just absolutely gorgeous I love them in the center there is just a hint of pink! I have placed these in a bouquet with blue and pink forget me nots, and a royal blue bachelor button. All of which are in my flower garden. I have been struggling to find the design that inspires me and I believe I have created 2 design similar but just can’t choose. “The concept of what is respectful is completely relative to cultures and individuals. There are certain expectations to conform to standards, but there should be room for unorthodox ways of honoring or paying tribute. I’ve always had a need to have a tangible physical part of my pets after they died. That’s a deep human need and desire across cultures, to keep a memento, either animal or human.”
