Adult Users on Tumblr trying to ruin Minor Users

Now this isn't a jab to every single adult user here on tumblr, but it's definitely to a few of them. I was scrolling through some tags earlier, mainly call of duty, modern warfare, konig, etc. and this one post I came across was this adult user posting about a minors blog and saying to "beware and report their account." How do people, especially adults get the audacity? They said this in the name of "it's uncomfortable," "minors shouldn't be writing about dark fics," etc. Take a rain check here people, anyone and everyone can write whatever the fuck they want. Regardless of them being a MINOR. You don't get to screenshot others blogs, post on your own blog and then tell your followers to report their account because you are uncomfortable and don't like it. In all honestly, it's even creepier that this person took the time to screenshot this minors blog to tell others. They could have just blocked them, it's that simple. If a minor is writing a dark fic, that's their business. It's for them to enjoy and other minors to enjoy because minors are allowed to read this stuff. Half the time they write and read it's for other minors because adult blogs don't want minors interacting with their own blogs and I get it. But minors need their own community too, where they can write and read what they want and aren't alienated from a community cause of their age. Sorry, I had to rant because this just pissed me off. Let minors read and write whatever the fuck they want, many, if not all of us were minors reading this shit too at one point. And, if you're the person who posted the screenshot of that minors blog, go fuck yourself.

If you're the minor whose blog got posted by the adult blog where they told others to beware and report your account, I'm sorry. They have/had zero right to do that. There's a block button for a damn reason, start using it adult blogs and leave minors alone.

I feel like especially my fellow young adults, Gen Z, who has grown up with social media, should know how much we NEED different legislation of social media. Should TikTok be taken away? Hell no, but it sure as fuck could be tailored to the people on there-

The internet is dangerous - and social media addictions are REAL.

There are so many issues with how social media uses its users data - especially MINORS. And very few things regulate how they can uses your data, either for advertising or algorithmic recommendations. There GENUINELY needs to be regulation on them handing out your info to third party sources, etc etc. Willful violations of data user privacy should be an unfair practice under General Statutes. There needs to be things that ban certain data collection and targeted advertising.  Laws that prohibit interactive computer services providers from knowingly promoting targeted content to users.

I know this is a complicated issue, and I know that there is a negative response to the idea that that our online safe places will be taken from us - and there are a lot of things that need to be properly debated. But the thing we automatically go to shouldn't be to label legislative action against social media as BAD.

I could talk about this for hours.. if anyone wants to hear lol.

I'm telling you this for your own safety as well as the comfort of those you've followed in the Hazbin/Helluva RPC: stop interacting with 18+ accounts. Even though you're 17, you're still a minor, and you shouldn't be interacting with blogs that host graphic content - especially if we make it clear in our rules that minors are not allowed to interact with us. These boundaries are put in place for a reason, and shouldn't be broken.

Okay, I'm gonna try to be as respectful about this as possible.

1 - Most of the time, I'm even reading people's bios. 90% of the time I'm just randomly clicking shit without even looking at people's posts.

2 - Just because I'm a minor doesn't mean I'm stupid. I had sex ed when I was like 13. I know about mature topics. I cuss sometimes. I make inappropriate jokes. I talk about sex and boobs and I know what it means to fuck people. Just because I'm legally a minor ( in some states. There are places where the age of consent is 17 ) doesn't mean I'm a child.

3 - It isn't exactly your place to worry about my safety? You're just a random stranger on the internet to me, like I don't even know you and you're trying to parent me like you're my mom/dad or something? I can expose myself to graphic content if I want to. And I'm not unsafe, I know when someone is trying to groom me. I'm not mentally immature just because I'm under 18. And not all blogs make it clear that they don't want minors interacting, sometimes they do and I just won't follow them but not everyone does.

4 - I'm 17 damn years old. I can make my own choices and decisions, thank you very much. Let me manage myself the way I see fit. You're worrying about a 17 year old when there are literal 10 year olds in the fandom. Maybe we should worry about the ACTUAL children in the fandom instead of worrying about a 17 year old that's basically an adult in some states anyway??
