Tone policing is in no way new, a tactic used constantly to devalue the sentiment of what others are saying. Frankly, there is just no way to speak of racism “nicely,” and as anti-racists, we cannot afford for Black, Indigenous and other POC lives to be the price for white comfort. We can’t. We can’t afford for women or any marginalized voice to be overshadowed by those who haven’t even lived a single MINUTE in their shoes. We can’t.

You see, and here we have the problem. Some people use a situation to get immunity for any kind of criticism ( it's the same with the BLM movement).
Nobody on this planet is an angel. Do people actually think foreigners in Asia don't experience hate and violence? Even before COVID, Asia was a known xenophobic continent. Should we really ignore this for the sake of political movements and for certain groups to feel like they're something special?
Doesn't sound fair to me. When there are problems and conflicts, they shouldn't be ignored. It's not a solution and it isn't helping anyone. It makes things worse.
Tumblr media
Some people have it easy. They can say "i'm black, i'm a victim"- and they will be heard. They can say "i'm Asian, i'm a victim"- and will be heard.
"I'm a "person of color", i'm a victim"- and will be heard.
And yet at every possible moment, it's "white people" who are being targeted because of their skin color. Just a few examples

Replace every "white people" part with "asian" or "black" ect. and see what happens.
It's so easy to have a scapegoat for everything, as long as you don't have to take responsibility for your own life. It's so easy to just say it's "white people's" fault. You don't have to self reflect, you can do whatever you want, because you can just say "it's "white people's" fault". And at the same time you can hide behind the "racism" argument if somebody is complaining about you. That's real privilege. And that's the reason why nothing will change, no problems are gonna be solved that way.
I have huge respect for people who have to listen to this BS every day and being dehumanised that way, knowing that there won't be any consequences for the bullies, but they still keep going with their life, going to work, taking care for their families. This is what makes you a real human with dignity.
Isn't it remarcable how you can be a minority but still have so much power that people feel so insecure and they have to put you down to make themselves feel better....

Dear reader
I post this for getting out my frustrations. I saw an article of someone who was born in 1925. Describing how he lost 10 years of his teenage years fighting in wars. And complaining that the teens from now a day can’t even stay home a year. I want to react with this
Look around in the messed up world. War isn’t over. And the world is still burning. The teenagers of now are enjoying life and making the best of what they can with all the COVID 19 rules. But can we be really mad that they don’t want to stay inside
Cause we are still out their fighting a war. The minority war. Our generation and a few from older generations. Are still fighting for black life matters. The lgbtq right. Woman rights. Wars that now a day aren’t finished. We fight for the lives of teens who haven’t had a teenage life. Cause they where busy working to support their families. Cause they couldn’t be their self. To scared of what will happen to them. Who are to afraid to go out because the way they dress can be seen as asking for it.
We are still fighting those wars. We are still out their rioting against the corrupted politics. Against the police brutality. Rioting for our lives. For our rights. For our freedom.
As long as a virus doesn’t stop those things. We won’t stop for a virus.
If it isn’t our generation. It will probably be the one after us. That will start a civil war. A civil war for the rights we deserve.
No I won’t stay inside for a virus. But we try to do it safely. But as long as we don’t have our rights. A virus won’t silence us. War is still going on. You just to blind to see it. Just because it isn’t country against country. It isn’t army against army doesn’t mean it isn’t a war.
It’s our time to fight for what’s right. COVID 19 or not. We won’t be silenced

Many fantasies are focused on individuals attempting regime change from an oppressor. I just started watching Merlin and was intrigued by the different strategies for regime change used by merlin and Morgana even though both are magicals. I myself would love regime change in my country from a death eater government, but which strategy would work best for me based on these fantasy figures?
Tumblr media
The difference in merlin and Morgana's actions seem to be a result of (a) Morgana having a priveleged upbringing and having high expectations from life while merlin as a country boy with no privilege is happy to take what he can get, and (b) Merlin can work within the system as Gaius is a known magical ally while Morgana has no known magical allies in power.
Funnily, harry and Morgana have the same profile (for when they are part of violent rebellions). When harry had a political ally in power (Dumbledore's ideas), he focussed on personal issues (solving mysteries, loathing his dad's betrayer).
Finally, Katniss is in a situation most similar to us. Given her non-privileged upbringing, lack of political allies, and maybe because one individual cannot overthrow a regime (instead it takes an army from another state), Katniss seems to have no political agency and withdraws into her personal issues (saving peeta, prim, etc).

TW, CW: rape, grave bodily harm, caste oppression, violence against Dalits
I don’t really have followers here but I urge that whoever reads this, please reblog the post and talk about it so that more people know about this
This is one of hundreds of rape cases that India sees on the daily. I don’t mean to take away from the narratives that do not reach the mainstream media, but I want to talk about this.
In a disturbing series of events last month here in India, a teenage woman of barely 19 years was brutally gang raped. To understand more about the intersectional nature of the crime, I suggest you read more into the very prevalent caste system which is reinforced by the politics of the extreme right wing Hindutva ruling government.
-The victim's statements were not entered into official records.
-She was not given the immediate medical care she needed.
-She fought for a fortnight and died without justice, while authorities to sweep all of it under the rug.
It doesn’t end here. They cremated her in the night's dark, without the presence of her family, to stifle outrage.
Uttar Pradesh, the state where the crime took place, has the highest rate of violence on women: On average 10 Dalit women were raped every day in India last year (2019) according to official figures.
One google search with the words “Hathras rape” will give you a milieu of articles BUT I will link a few resources here:

Death Race 2000 and how it became eerily similar to today’s world. (SPOILERS)
I know it can suck to get all political and all that, but watching Death Race 2000, a movie from the 70s, has a lot of striking resemblance as the political climates we all have. It even shows different aspects of the dystopian future itself, being played out to be extreme. But while watching it, it just feels like... “Hmmm. This is relatable.” It just makes the nerves chill that a dystopian future depicted from the 70s, becomes like a normal day in 2020. I guess I could give a few examples to back it up.
One of the hosts for the race keeps talking about “(Certain group), dear friends of mine, (general action that may denote bad or good choices)”. It’s really weird how she keeps talking that they are ‘her friends’ but downplays them when they are being killed, or applauds them when they do good in the President’s eyes. It kinda feels like that “Oh I have friends like these groups of people. Oh they made something wrong? Well, they’re not my friends, they’re evil.” It gives me that “I have a (certain group) friend, so I would know.” sort of argument. Sure, you have friends, but using them as a way to make yourself look more presentable is disgusting. The scene after the doctors were even more perplexing. The other host comes in and says “Since he killed (certain group of people), then it shows that he has the 100% Red-blooded American sense of humor.” Chilly. I guess killing people means that you are a Patriot with a sense of humor? Yikes. That’s how the movie is depicting a dystopia, don’t take my word for it.
The President himself boasts about how he “revived the great nation of America, and introduced the Trans-national race cup.” Hmmm... now where have I heard that before? Football being brought back? Nope. Not a clue. I do give him some credit, he is trying to make a legacy... a very painful and merciless legacy. Just like... I’ll let you guess on that.
There’s also some discourse in a revolutionary group introduced in the movie. Mrs. Paine is the sort of character who would prefer being non-violent, than her co-conspirator, who is much more into violence and blowing stuff up.
I’m fine with having open and free opinions but this one takes the cake. One of the racers motif is literally Nazism. Yes, you heard me right. The driver, Matilda the Hun, is a blonde, blue-eyed woman, while her navigator is a very nerdy male called, Herman the German, who’s primary source of fame is the fact that he’s German and a Nazi. From what I interpret from this is that the mask of Nazism is the fact that there are blonde, blue-eyed people, and the person pulling the strings and the people who follow and idolize nazism are “whiney and wimpy”.
There’s also stuff that doesn’t align to our present times but with wrong choices, it’ll end up with it:
There are also some talking points being pointed out, which is “The Minorities are doing fine, they are in a field of Minority Privilege.” Yet the movie doesn’t seem to show any of them? Wonder what happened after the Crash of 79.
I also like how the scoring system for the race is Women, Teenagers, Children, and the Elderly. So if you kill any of them, you get points. I don’t wanna keep looking into it, but so far all I see is that the priority for the country is that Men give the lowest points. It devalues a man but at the same time, since it’s the lowest points, they die even less.  (Except for that Matador. He was really looking for death.) I guess it resembles the workforce itself? Men usually die more frequently in their jobs, but have a lil bit more privilege when we chock it up to Intersectionality. But that’s my opinion.
I could keep going on but I gotta say, watch Death Race 2000. It just blows my mind that when I first saw it, I expected it to be so extremely dystopian and such but... it just felt like a normal day, even if I immersed myself in it, it just feels like it has happened or is happening. If a depiction of a dystopia from a movie can seem so normal normal today, then wouldn’t that be alarming?
P.S.
This is just an interpretation. Feel free to spread an idea around and please, instead of saying that I’m an idiot, construct YOUR interpretations so we could get and actual “free market of ideas”.

Colorism deeply affects members of BIPOC communities, leaving those with darker skin in Black, Indian, East Asian, Latinx, and many other ethnic groups feeling as though they shouldn’t have even been born. Colorism acts a subset of racism ingrained within our communities, from only showing lighter skinned actors/actresses in the media to lightening creams being sold around the world. This is a topic people even within my own community, the Black community, are scared to address because some may feel that having privilege as someone who has lighter skin is an attack on them. But it’s not. If you have privilege, please use it to amplify marginalized voices.
At the end of the day, ending colorism aims only to appreciate and love and celebrate all skin tones within communities of color, regardless of the shade. Please take time to confront the discrimination within your own communities because if we continue to ignore colorism and the plights our darker skinned siblings face, we can never truly progress to a world that loves and appreciates all people.

This article was finished and released in 2017. Since then the country has experienced a spike in law enforcement efforts to pursue liberty threatening ideals. Please reblog, copy link/share, educate, and spread as much information on a daily basis. It's understandable to be on a weaker end of the spectrum, considering the marathon the human race is currently running. You might feel alone, like I do. Living in Central Indiana, where 'nigger' is still just "a funny word, not racist".
At times you, the 21st century activist, may have to stand alone to face tyranny and fascist agenda.
If you feel fear when you read this, lean into this pain, for it is a mere fraction of what has been experienced by those oppressed.

I recently learnt a new metaphor - Pickle Jar Questions. These are questions people can’t or haven’t been able to ask anyone and keep to themselves for years, but platforms like Quora and Yahoo Answers are full of them.
I happen to find a photograph of a bunch pickle jars stacked together and drew an illustration of it. Initially the idea was to do a typographic style illustration with questions stuck inside the jar but as i went with the flow, i started loving  the rough edges and colours of the jars so much that I ended up with just that. Then I spent a couple of hours on Quora to find questions that I found funny or silly enough to post.
While making this illustration and listening to podcasts, I told my 6 year old niece about what I was drawing. She got so curious that she opened up her jammed pickle jars and asked a lot of questions about relationships, love, sex, friends, etc. The age of 5-8 is the most inquisitive age for kids. And as we have all learnt, it’s best to be honest to them. We talked openly about each topic and that gave me an opportunity to discuss with her what’s happening around the world. I started to tell her about #blacklivesmatter movement and how it’s very much prevalent in India too. It’s not just America that is fighting for equality. In India, there are multiple communities that face discrimination on the basis of their religion, occupation, caste, skin colour, and what not. I’m trying to read up about it as much as possible so I can arm her with knowledge that is not full of hatred but it carries the courage to figure out what’s right and what’s wrong on her own.
