GUESS WHO’S BACK!!

Hi! It’s been forever since I’ve posted on here. I wanna say close to a year or even longer but I got caught up on LO and im ready to come back as RS number one hater. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m really a hater at heart but i think im ok with that lol.

Anyways the topic of discussion is between Hera and Zeus. So I was reading the latest episode and it seems like we’re back to talking about the plan with Kronos. Now we’ve been over this story line a lot and im not necessarily mad because this storyline is one of the few things that I like about LO but, I always get so mad whenever RS makes the root of their problems (Hera and Zeus) begin at this plan. I feel like that is so lazy and with all the time that they’ve been together RS had a lot of chances to make Zeus’s infidelity be caused by something other than jealousy. I honestly think that it’s lazy and if there was a better origin of his cheating habit then maybe the audience would have a little more sympathy towards him as a character. But of course that can’t happen because in order to make hades look less like an awful person, you first have to make every male look even worse.

That’s the end of my rant but I lowkey hope you missed me and be prepared for me to be back in my active era!

..why do people think Minthe or ANY of the nymphs are poc coded??? Like..I wanna know.

Is it cuz they're disrespected ?? Cuz the gods are assholes and talk down to beings weaker than them. Like what IS poc coded about them besides that.

When nymphs are literally weaker than most gods/ they can die..hence why God's are so damn disrespectful cuz OFC they would be. That's the way it is. Is it right?? No, but logically what are they gonna do?? They'd die, which is fucked up obvi.

I just..I'm sooo confused. NO one in this comic is poc coded cuz Rachel sucks at that shit, sure Pysches there..but i feel like her design was just shoved in for brownie points cuz..she's unnecessary now. Also..why would only the nymphs be poc coded. Why would the species that's LITERALLY below the gods (in their terms, cuz again. They're gods) be Poc coded. Why would you want that 😶

(Ofc have your headcanons, I draw my Zeus as black just cuz it's fun, so I'm not saying don't do that. I just find it interesting when people think she's poc coded in the actual comic? )

Lore information under the cut:

Minthe is old enough to remember the Titanomachy, but too young to have fought in it. She's about 1,500 years old.

Minthe herself is about 6' without high heels, but is anywhere from 6'2-6'6 in her heels, which makes her taller than Hades, who is 6'1.

Underworld natives & deep sea natives have darker skin. However, this is an adaptation to camouflage into their environment; their coloration has no benefits under the sun. Their eyes are quite photosensitive.

Underworld Natives have certain unsavory stereotypes about being greedy and callous because of their power in the corporate & luxury goods sector. They're a very wealthy people and the Underworld Standard of living is on par with Olympus, comparative to the relatively poor Mortal and Ocean realms.

Thoughts on Minthe

I have seen a lot of people compare Minthe, from Lore Olympus, with Apollo in terms of villainy, but I don't think it's accurate.

On some level, I recognize the connection they're making: they're both truly awful people with an overblown sense of entitlement who don't know how to accept that no means no.

However, there's a slight difference between them in terms of conscience that actually makes me equate Minthe more with Apollo's father, Zeus.

Yeah, this obnoxious dic...tator who doesn't know the meaning of self-restraint or fidelity.

However, the difference between him and Apollo, and the thing that he has in common in Minthe, is that both of them have just enough self-awareness to realize that they're crappy people, but it's not enough to actually make them change (see Episode 94 and Episode 76 for reference).

Whereas Apollo...

...Pretty sure that dude's a representation of a sociopath.

You know who his closest parallel is, though?

Thetis.

The manipulative, shameless homewrecker who doesn't care who she hurts to get what she wants.

She and Apollo would be a match made...somewhere.

And unlike both of them, Thetis is actually making an effort to change and better herself, and while she's still got a long way to go towards being a good person, I feel a lot more sympathy towards her.

You go, girl.

End that toxic friendship.
