The Disability Library
I love books, I love literature, and I love this blog, but it's only been recently that I've really been given the option to explore disabled literature, and I hate that. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be able to read about characters like me, and now as an adult, all I want is to be able to read a book that takes us seriously.
And so, friends, Romans, countrymen, I present, a special disability and chronic illness booklist, compiled by myself and through the contributions of wonderful members from this site!

They're also the super hyped ones while singing Happy Birthday even though they're out of tune LMAO (the others looks so done while you just stand there in the center with the cake lit with the candles be like 🧍♀️).
Even while eating, they're still super talkative while there's lot of food smudges on their face (how the hell can they still speak? Because their vocal chords are SUPERIOR).

They just really love you so much so they bought the most expensive gift for you that they can find so you'll feel very special! (Though just don't use them as a sugar mommy/daddy it can turn them off).
They will smile, chuckle and pat you on the head if you're super happy with their present "WuahHhhHHh THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHH YOU DON"T HAVE TO SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY ON ME NEXT TIME!!!" "As long you're happy I am too".
They just wants to see you smiling all the time even if it's not your b-day they hate you seeing sad (like everyone hates seeing you sad :)))) .

Lookism Characters and Their Favorite Disneyland Rides/Attractions
(Inspired by my day at Disneyland ✨ Hope y’all enjoy!)
Daniel Park: Peter Pan’s Flight (Daniel loves the theme of flying to Neverland, a place where Peter Pan could take children to escape from their reality. He somehow relates to it, as it’s some sort of a dream- like place that he’d want to go to. However, he’s bummed from how short the ride was, as it didn’t even last a whole minute. It made him question if it was actually worth waiting in line for twenty minutes. Just thinking of going on a ride that took less time than the actual wait time, made Daniel tired.)
Zack Lee: Space Mountain (Zack would love Space Mountain because of how it was a really cool indoor rollercoaster. He loves the feeling of the breeze going through his hair and the fast movements of the ride, underneath the bits of red lights in the dark. It was thrilling for sure, and it was not a baby ride where he can just fall asleep to. At least he can stay awake in a ride like this.)
Vasco: Mad Tea Party a.k.a Teacup ride (He’d bring Jace along with him to the ride and Vasco would be curious to see how fast their cup could go, so he asks Jace to help him spin the wheel as fast as they could. Jace would of course, do all of the work as Vasco would be too dizzy to even do anything. And once they got out from the ride, Vasco would immediately want to throw up somewhere in the bushes, forgetting that he had motion sickness. Even though Vasco couldn’t handle the ride, it became a memorable experience since Jace was there to support him.)
Jay Hong: “it’s a small world” (He’d want to take Daniel with him on that boat ride. Just seeing the smile on Daniel’s happy face while looking at the cheerful vibe over the adorable characters featured in the ride was enough for Jay to feel contentment.)
Mira Kim: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Zack isn’t into the idea of riding it since he thinks the ride is meant for babies. However, ever since Mira mentioned to Zack that she likes Winnie the Pooh, Zack would insist on taking her with him to the ride just for her.)
Zoe Park: Snow White’s Enchanted Wish (She’s a fan of Snow White since she finds the idea of having to wake up from a prince’s kiss to be romantic, and she wishes that would happen to her if Little Daniel was her prince in that scenario.)
Vin Jin: Pirates of the Caribbean (He would love the ride because it’s dark and exciting. He could even take his glasses off most of the time without having anyone to look at his face in the dark. When he first got onto the ride with Mary Kim, he thought it would be one of those slow chill boat rides like Small World, but little did he know, he was greeted with a big drop near the beginning of the ride. Even Mary was caught off guard as she let out a shriek of terror. After the drop, they’d both make fun of each other from how they reacted to that unexpected drop. However, they both weren’t aware that another drop was coming…)
Johan Seong: Haunted Mansion (Johan would love the dark theme and the creepy aesthetic of the ride. Even though the ride stops sometimes due to technical difficulties, he finds it relaxing just sitting there in the ride, just taking in its ambience. He’d even laugh at how Zack would get freaked out over the littlest things in the ride, when he goes with him.)
Jake Kim: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Jake would be intrigued by how real the setting is when he entered a big futuristic ship. The whole idea of escaping from Kylo Ren’s ship reminded him of when he had to rescue Sinu from the Workers, which was similar since it was a bit exciting and badass that they got out of there alive.)
Samuel Seo: Matterhorn Bobsleds (This psycho would laugh at the misery of people getting scared by the Abominable Snowman, especially the annoying kids who would whine while waiting in line. Samuel thought that they’d get a taste of their own medicine as they cried during the ride, making him smile in delight.)
Joon Goo Kim: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (He’d totally be a sucker for fast rides and steep drops. The ride was a bit dangerous too, since there weren’t any sturdy seatbelts in the seats, so he had to hold onto the cart that he was in. When there was a drop, he almost flew out of his seat from how steep the drop was. *insert Goo’s psycho laugh here*)
Jong Gun Park: Indiana Jones Adventure (Gun likes the idea of having to fight off things for riches as the theme for this quick paced ride. Also, he likes how wild the ride gets when it jerks back and forth in an adventure jeep, and would totally laugh in such a manic way from how thrilling it is.)
This is completely unrelated, but while I was at Disneyland, my cousin got hooked on Lookism ever since I showed him the anime. So, all he mostly did while we were waiting in the lines was just reading the actual Webtoon. Bro was addicted and I’m proud. Just wanted to share 💀🖤 (Also I turned him into a simp for Gun, since he looks like Chamber from Valorant. LMAOOO HELP-)

Una cita en Passio
Es una radiante mañana en Passio, y a Lucilla le espera una emocionante cita con Emmet, el Jefe Metro del Metro Batalla de la región de Unova, al cual le insistió mucho debido a la apretada agenda del hombre de sonrisa radiante.
Exactamente son las diez y cuarenta y dos de la mañana, y Emmet no deja de mirar el reloj con preocupación, pero sin dejar de sonreír con paciencia e ilusión. ¡Por fin tendría una cita con Lucilla! Él lo ha querido desde hace mucho tiempo, pero como en Passio ha estado ejerciendo de mayordomo la mayor parte del tiempo, no ha podido juntarse con ella tanto como quisiera. Sin embargo, gracias a la insistencia de la chica que por fin pueden reunirse. A pesar de todo, ella debió haber llegado hace más de media hora, pero Emmet no desespera por mucho que no pueda despegar su mirada del reloj. Su Escavalier, a su lado, lucía igual de ilusionado.
“¡Emmeeeet, perdóoooon!” grita Lucilla a unos cuantos metros mientras trota hacia él.
Al joven bien vestido se le iluminan los ojos al verla y no puede evitar sonreír ampliamente mientras dice el nombre de la muchacha. Tras una breve pausa, la mira de arriba a abajo un par de veces y se ruboriza suavemente.
“Creo que ‘Señorita Lucilla’ suena bien para ti hoy,” dice Emmet con total franqueza. La entrenadora está vistiendo un elegante vestido rojo y negro, el cual hace juego con el del Oricorio de fuego que la acompaña.
La joven sonríe con confianza y le posa elegantemente mientras ondea su vestido, preguntándole si le gusta, a lo que hombre de permanente sonrisa le responde que le encanta, ya que le hace ver más preciosa de lo que ya es. La chica le dice agradecida que el hecho de que él también vaya elegante le hace ver más atractivo aún, puesto que ese traje de mayordomo le sienta de maravilla; pero para sus adentros piensa que le queda incluso mejor que su habitual uniforme de Jefe Metro.
Emmet ríe un poco nervioso y le confiesa que, aunque está complacido por ir a juego con su compañero pokémon, aún no se acostumbra del todo a su elegante traje, y que incluso se le cae el monóculo constantemente, pero que aun así le gusta mucho vestir de esa manera y que está encantado de que a ella también.
Lucilla le dice con una suave sonrisa burlona que ya se acostumbrará, a lo que Emmet asiente para luego preguntarle con una sonrisa curiosa del por qué se retrasó tanto, a lo que la elegante joven le responde muy orgullosa que se le fue la hora bañando a sus queridos pokémon, cosa que ella ama hacer.
El Oricorio que acompaña a Lucilla, se pone muy feliz ante esta declaración, provocando que su entrenadora sonría muy complacida, ya que era impensable que tanto ella misma como sus pokémon asistieran a una cita elegante sin estar previamente bañados y acicalados como corresponde. Emmet sonríe cálidamente y le asegura a Oricorio que también está muy guapo hoy, provocando que el pequeño pájaro rojizo grazne de felicidad y dé pequeños giros aéreos de la emoción. Lucilla le hace un cumplido similar al Escavalier de Emmet, y tras darle unas palmaditas en la cabeza al pokémon de tipo bicho, sonríe con mucha energía y asegura que está lista para afrontar los desafíos que le esperan durante la cita, por lo que le pregunta a su acompañante sobre el itinerario, a lo que él, como respuesta, saca un papel de su bolsillo y lo lee.
“Aquí dice que lo primero es dar un paseo por algunas tiendas y tener un par de combates pokémon antes de ir a almorzar,” le aconseja.
La chica, con una sonrisa juguetona, golpea con los dedos suavemente el costado del amigable hombre de cabello gris, diciéndole que sabe muy bien como complacerla; y acto seguido, imita su reconocida pose de Jefe Metro para decir bastante alto: ‘¡Todos a bordo!’, como si quisiera imitar al gemelo mayor de Emmet, Ingo, el cual también ha estado muy ocupado con sus labores de mayordomo últimamente. Emmet ríe ante esto y también hace su famosa postura para, a continuación, decir con su habitual y radiante sonrisa:
“¡Todos a bordo!”.
La primera parada en las numerosas tiendas de Passio es en una de accesorios para pokémon. Si bien ambos no son de los que hacen que sus equipos participen en concursos pokémon, es divertido imaginar cómo se verían sus compañeros con todo tipo de accesorios extravagantes al momento de combatir entre ellos. Emmet admite que le costaría imaginarse a sus pokémon usando decoraciones y que prefería ser él mismo quien los use, para que no les estorbaran durante la batalla, a lo que Lucilla le responde que hay una manera de hacer eso realidad en cierta medida, y es que le ordenara a Azuro, su Zoroark, que se transformara en él para luego ponerle accesorios y así ver cuales le quedaría mejor.
“A fin de cuentas, a Azuro le gustaría participar en algún curso a futuro, sin dejar que su naturaleza tímida y tipo siniestro le hagan hacer marcha atrás,” le comenta la joven.
Emmet sonríe un poco nervioso y se encoge de hombros, pensando que tal vez había hablado demasiado. “Admito que sería divertido de hacer, siempre y cuando a Azuro le parezca bien, y que no te importe ser la siguiente sujeto de pruebas para practicar con él.”
Ella ríe diciendo que estaría dispuesta a todo con tal de verlo a él con accesorios para pokémon.
Tras otra pequeña charla de unos pocos minutos, caminan hacia otra tienda, esta vez a una de maquetas de trenes, provocando que Emmet quede petrificado en la entrada con una inmensa sonrisa en el rostro. Lucilla le sonríe con dulzura mientras le dice que entre, pero el hombre responde que este día es para ella, por lo que debe acatar sus gustos y no los suyos propios, sugiriendo que sería mejor ir a una tienda que vaya más acorde con ella. Sin embargo, la hermosa muchacha quiere que ambos disfruten de la cita yendo a sitios que les gusten a los dos. Además, ella admite que también tiene mucha curiosidad por ver esas maquetas, alentando así al Jefe Metro; con lo cual, él sin ocultar su felicidad, entra entusiasmado.
Una vez dentro, los ojos del joven se enfocan en una maqueta tras otra, analizándolas instantáneamente como si fueran de verdad, cosa que no sorprende a Lucilla debido a que sabe perfectamente lo mucho que le gustan los trenes, tanto a él como a su gemelo mayor, al trabajar ambos con trenes día a día en el Metro batalla. El entusiasmo de Emmet se vuelve tan abrumador que no puede contener sus pensamientos y comienza a hablar como un fanático sobre cada modelo que hay en la tienda, compartiendo sus conocimientos y gustos con Escavalier y su chica, la cual, aunque no entiende nada de los tecnicismos y la razón por la que algunos trenes son mejores que otros, escucha atentamente con una encantadora sonrisa, al amar profundamente el poder oírle hablar de que algo que le fascina a su querido Jefe Metro.
Tras varios minutos de comentar todas y cada una de las maquetas en la tienda, ambos salen para tomar aire nuevamente. Lucilla le sugiere a Emmet que la próxima vez que visiten una tienda así, deberían invitar a Ingo también, puesto que ama tanto los trenes como el propio Emmet, o incluso más, a lo que el gemelo menor asiente con su típica gran sonrisa mientras trata de recomponerse para volver a verse lo más profesional posible de nuevo.
Tras dar unos pocos pasos, se encuentran con una pequeña tienda de cachivaches con forma de pokémon, provocando que la joven abra los ojos con cierta sorpresa y se disponga a entrar con mucho interés, a lo que el elegante mayordomo sonríe con curiosidad y entra justo después de ella. Apenas entran, ven que los escaparates están a punto de estallar de tantos diversos productos que albergan: vasos, tazas, lápices, cuadernos, libretas, botellas, gorras, mochilas, audífonos, marcapáginas, pulseras, sudaderas, camisas, calcetines, relojes, llaveros, y un sinfín de artículos más. Los ojos de ambos se maravillan ante tantas cosas, las cuales sorprendentemente caben en el reducido espacio del local por mucho que pareciera que ya no cabe ni un alfiler.
Lucilla camina despacio hacia un llavero de Togekiss y lo agarra suavemente para acariciarlo como si estuviera hecho de cristal. Oricorio emite un pequeño sonido de tristeza mientras agacha la mirada, mientras que Emmet sonríe con tristeza al presenciar esto, ya que sabe perfectamente por qué su cita reaccionó así.
Lucilla estaba pensando en su antigua compañera, su Togekiss de cuando era niña y cuyo fallecimiento aún le causaba pena y dolor. Tal traumático hecho, provocó que dejara de participar en los combates pokémon durante mucho tiempo, y si bien actualmente ella ya había vuelto a batallar con la pasión y fuerza de antaño, el dolor por haber perdido a su compañera a veces se manifestaba en momentos como este.
Emmet, preocupado, se le acerca cautelosamente y le sonríe con empatía. “Lucilla, ¿estás bien?”
La joven asiente con lentitud, pero sus manos comienzan a temblar un poco. Emmet saca un pañuelo inmaculado de su bolsillo y se lo ofrece.
Lucilla lo rechaza cortésmente y le sonríe tratando de recomponerse. “Gracias, pero estoy bien; es sólo que me vinieron muchos recuerdos a la mente, de los hermosos.”
El mayordomo sonríe aliviado mientras guarda el pañuelo, y le habla con calidez y empatía para tranquilizarla a pesar de todo, mientras que Lucilla, sintiéndose incluso mimada, le dice que le encantaría poder llevarse el llavero, a lo que Emmet le responde con cierta emoción que podría comprárselo sin ningún problema, principalmente al ambos haberse puesto de acuerdo de antemano que él pagaría por ella en la cita de hoy. Lucilla le sonríe con cariño mientras se lo agradece de corazón, y acto seguido, Emmet lleva el llavero donde el cajero y lo compra para entregárselo a su cita, la cual ama más de lo que le gusta admitir. La joven, encantada, lo guarda mientras Oricorio parece conmovido por esto.
Ambos salen de la abarrotada tienda unos minutos después y se disponen a entrar a unas cuantas más para pasar el rato antes de ir a por combates.
Tras haber visitado una buena cantidad de tiendas, Emmet le pregunta a Lucilla si ya está lista para que vayan a buscar entrenadores a quienes retar, a lo que la entusiasta chica responde con mucha energía que tiene ganas de sobra de combatir de una vez. Antes de que tuvieran tiempo de buscar un contrincante, se les acerca una cara conocida; se trata de Hilarino, un joven adulto fanfarrón cuyo único deseo actualmente es superar a Lucilla, su rival. El joven, al verla, le expresa con mucho entusiasmo que lleva bastante tiempo buscándola para retarla a una batalla pokémon, y que no aceptará un ‘no’ por respuesta en este momento.
La muchacha, un poco sorprendida, le responde: “Oh, vale, pero estamos en Passio, ¿recuerdas? Los combates son generalmente de tres contra tres.” Mira a Oricorio, a Escavalier y finalmente Emmet, y sonríe con confianza. “Aunque supongo que por esta vez podemos hacer un dos contra dos si encuentras quien te acompañe. ¿Qué me dices?”
Antes de que Hilarino responda, aparece otra cara conocida; es Umbra, la hermana menor de Lucilla.
“Vaya, menuda sorpresa encontrarte aquí, aunque debo admitir que tenía cierto presentimiento de que te vería de alguna manera hoy,” le dice. Su Frostmoth la acompaña también. “¿Estás buscando oponentes, ¿verdad? Dame la oportunidad de pelear contra ti para que veas cuánto he mejorado.”
Hilarino se emociona muchísimo ante esto “¡Ahora no tienes excusa alguna para no aceptar un combate pokémon de dos contra dos!”
Emmet sonríe muy seguro de sí mismo y les dice a sus contrincantes que dará todo de sí, pero que, sin importar el resultado, espera que todos se diviertan. Lucilla le responde con cierto sarcasmo que sí, que ojalá lo pasen bien, pero que evidentemente es mucho más divertido cuando uno gana. Al escucharla, Emmet responde con una frase muy típica suya:
“Yo soy Emmet, y lo que más me gusta de todo es ganar.”
Su Escavalier gruñe como si quisiera enfatizar las palabras de su entrenador, mostrando fieramente su predisposición para combatir. Emmet le sonríe con la misma impaciencia por empezar, y luego le pregunta tanto a su compañera como a sus contendientes si están listos, a lo que responden que sí, pero Lucilla agrega antes de comenzar mientras le sonríe con confianza y orgullo:
“Ah, por cierto…, a mí también me gusta ganar más que nada.”
Como una señal, ante esta declaración, todos sacan sus pokémon para combatir, donde Emmet y Lucilla pelearían, tal vez de no la manera más sincronizada pero sí con desbordante pasión y amor por los combates pokémon.
La batalla no dura demasiado y la pareja sale victoriosa con una cierta ventaja, por lo que Hilarino se frustra al no haber podido ganar nuevamente, pero le jura a Lucilla que seguirá entrenando arduamente para demostrar que puede ganar con su querido Metapod. Umbra, por su parte, si bien un poco decepcionada de sí misma, se alegra de haber podido dar todo de sí en el combate y felicita a su hermana por tan buen desempeño junto a su cita, mientras hace que su Frostmoth vuelva a su Poké Ball. Lucilla le responde que con un poco más de entrenamiento le pondrá las cosas difíciles a futuro, y la alienta a no desanimarse por esta derrota ya que Oricorio tenía ventaja de tipo contra su Frostmoth.
Hilarino, por su parte, se va a entrenar en el bosque de Passio mientras que Umbra se despide de ambos y continúa con lo suyo.
Emmet felicita a Lucilla por la entretenida y apasionante batalla que acaban de tener, y le dice que deberían continuar con los combates por un rato para que aprovechen el calor del momento. La joven responde que un solo combate no la dejaría satisfecha de momento, por lo que deberían buscar un tercer miembro para combatir antes de ir a almorzar. Así que, tras un rato de búsqueda, ambos se encuentran con Brock, amigo de la infancia de Lucilla, el cual, para sorpresa de nadie, estaba intentando ligar con una apuesta entrenadora.
Los combates del trío son de lo más emocionantes y logran hacerse con la victoria en todos los encuentros, y hubieran seguido peleando el día entero de no ser por cierta interrupción de Emmet.
“Lucilla, deberíamos irnos ya a almorzar, reservé una mesa en un buen restaurante y no quisiera que nos retrasáramos; podemos seguir combatiendo después si así lo quieres, aún tenemos el resto del día.”
Lucilla se sorprende ante esto y le pregunta si realmente tienen que partir ahora mismo, ya que tenía ganas de surcar los cielos con él en Merlina, su Corviknight, antes de almorzar, aprovechando el estupendo clima que hacía. Emmet, notoriamente incómodo, le sonríe diciendo que, a pesar de que sería mejor ir lo antes posible, podría satisfacerla permitiéndole volar diez minutos junto a ella, pero que, por favor, no fuera a gran altura. Sin perder un instante, Lucilla saca a Merlina de su pokébola, la cual se muestra tan noble como lo es su personalidad. La chica se sitúa sobre ella en un parpadeo y anima al incómodo galán a su lado a subirse, pero éste, casi tembloroso, sonríe forzadamente mientras trata de juntar valor para montarse. Lucilla le ayuda a subirse y él se aferra a ella intentando no ser demasiado invasivo, provocando que la entrenadora riera afirmando que aún están en tierra, y que le parece de lo más divertido que se ponga así. Ante esta declaración, Emmet se avergüenza y entierra levemente su cara en la espalda de su cita mientras se disculpa.
Acto seguido, Lucilla le da la orden a su compañero volador para que se eleven en el aire, causando una reacción de terror instantáneo en su cita, pero tratando de armarse de valor para despegarse de ella para así disfrutar el paisaje.
“¡Menudas vistas desde aquí, Emmet! ¡Enfrenta tu miedo y mira a tu alrededor!” le grita entusiasmada Lucilla, quien está sonriendo ampliamente mientras goza de la brisa que peina su cabello. Incluso Oricorio parece estar disfrutando del momento tanto como su entrenadora, quien, a pesar de poder volar, está bien sujeta a ella junto a Escavalier.
“Yo soy Emmet..., ¡Y debo enfrentar mis miedos!” se dice el mayordomo a sí mismo mientras trata con todas sus fuerzas de desenterrar su cara de la espalda de su compañera y abrir los ojos.
Tras unos segundos de alejar su rostro lentamente de Lucilla, se recompone y abre los ojos lo máximo que puede, pero el terror se apodera de él y se agarra con más fuerza todavía a ella, temblando como gelatina y exclamando lo alto que están volando. Lucilla carcajea ante esta declaración y le dice que en realidad no está tan alto, que es una exageración, y que no debería preocuparse por eso, sino en concentrarse en el exuberante paisaje de Passio. Pero aun así le pregunta si está bien, al saber de antemano el terror que su amigo le tiene a las alturas.
Emmet se tranquiliza instantáneamente afirmando que está bien a pesar de todo, al darse cuenta de la belleza de la isla artificial vista desde arriba, la cual nunca habría podido imaginar ni en sus sueños más locos.
“Wow..., qué increíble vista... ¡Es maravilloso!” exclama el joven sonriendo como un niño pequeño al que le llevaron al parque de atracciones que siempre quiso ir.
“¡Por supuesto! ¿Por qué crees que me gusta tanto volar si no? Estas vistas no se consiguen viajando en trenes, ¿sabes?” le responde Lucilla en cierto tono burlón.
“Uh, qué problema, ya no sé si decir que este paisaje es tan hermoso como tú... o si tú eres tan hermosa como este paisaje...” titubea el mayordomo con un sonrojo tan fuerte como las partes rojas del vestido de Lucilla.
La chica ríe agradecida ante semejante cumplido, y le afirma que piensa lo mismo de él y su elegante traje de mayordomo, avivando un mayor rubor en él, que lo obliga a enterrar su cabeza nuevamente en la espalda de su cita, pero esta vez haciendo un gran esfuerzo de mantener los ojos abiertos mientras mantiene su rostro girado hacia la derecha para no perderse de mucho.
Al cabo de unos pocos minutos, ambos vuelven a tierra y se dirigen al restaurante prometido, el cual es incluso más elegante de lo que Lucilla se había imaginado. Los dos se sientan frente a frente en la mesa designada, la cual está un poco alejada de las demás, para así tener mayor privacidad. La pareja comienza a ver el menú mientras charlan sobre la experiencia aérea que acaban de tener, donde Emmet afirma que, a pesar de haber tenido mucho miedo y que sigue prefiriendo la seguridad que ofrece la tierra firme, igual lo disfrutó. También pensó para sí mismo que no le importaría repetir si Lucilla le insistía en volar de nuevo, ya que él jamás trataría de otra cosa que no fuera satisfacerla, no sólo como el mayordomo que es mientras dure su estancia en Passio, sino que también por lo muy enamorado que está.
Lucilla mira el menú durante un buen rato tratando de decidirse; ¿sería buena idea pedir una sopa tibia de calabaza a pesar de tener la oportunidad de comer cosas más exóticas? Será su comida favorita, pero no sabe si decantarse por eso o arriesgarse a probar algo nuevo. Emmet le sonríe un tanto divertido al ver a su compañera tan confusa sobre qué ordenar, a lo que le responde que no debería hacerse problemas y que pida todo lo que ella quiera, ¡que nada le haría más feliz que complacerla tanto a ella como a su paladar! Sabiendo muy bien que es posible enamorar a alguien a través del estómago, Emmet está más que dispuesto a gastar todo lo necesario con tal de conseguirlo. Además, él, muy profesional como mayordomo, se dio el trabajo de estudiar cada comida del restaurante para así poder orientar mejor a su compañera durante la comida en la cita.
Lucilla, tras pensarlo bastante, decide que sí pedirá su amada sopa tibia de calabaza, pero que, debido a lo abundante del menú, no sabe qué más elegir.
“¡Es que todo parece tan delicioso! No hay estómago al que le quepa tanta comida, así que es difícil elegir entre tantas opciones.”
Su cita sonríe con mucha confianza y le hace unas cuantas recomendaciones, a lo cual ella acepta sin siquiera pensarlo, al saber que le gustará cualquier cosa que él le recomiende, por lo que piden su comida al amable y elegante camarero más cercano y se dedican a charlar de cosas mundanas mientras esperan sus platos.
El tiempo pasa volando mientras comen y conversan; todo es muy agradable, desde la comida hasta el ambiente y, claro está, la compañía del uno con el otro, lo cual, por encima de todo, es lo mejor del momento.
Tras haber terminado el postre, que sin duda alguna fue arroz con leche por parte de Lucilla, su favorito; se levantan para pasear por Passio para así bajar la comida y, por qué no, para tener más combates pokémon. Nunca se tienen suficientes en un día, sobre todo para dos amantes de las batallas como lo son ellos dos, así que durante el resto del día se dedicaron a luchar todo lo que pudieron hasta que estaba por darse la puesta de sol, donde Emmet le pidió a su chica que por favor la acompañara a un sitio muy especial.
“¿Cuál será el último destino del día de hoy?” le pregunta Lucilla, un poco confundida.
Él, visiblemente nervioso, no le responde con claridad. “Vamos a... un lugar encantador que sólo podemos ver nosotros,” le dice con algo de nerviosismo.
Lucilla, como la joven algo despistada que es, no se da cuenta que su elegante mayordomo le tiene preparada una sorpresa muy especial, algo que él pretende aprovechar, ya que así será mucho más grata dicha sorpresa. Emmet, un poco nervioso y ruborizado, le ofrece el brazo a su amada, quien acepta muy gustosa y orgullosa; ¿cómo no iba a estarlo? ¡Si su cita ha sido Emmet, el Jefe Metro!, el cual para ella es más atractivo que su gemelo mayor, Ingo, probablemente debido a su radiante sonrisa, tan hermosa y brillante que sería capaz de iluminar la habitación más oscura y de curar la más terrible de las enfermedades. Motivos de sobra hay para estar de lo más satisfecha ante la posibilidad de tener una cita con semejante hombre, sin duda.
Tras caminar un rato por un sendero que lleva al bosque, se encuentran con un claro bañado por las primeras luces del ocaso, que le da un toque mágico y onírico. En el centro del claro se encuentra una mesa decorada lo más elegante y refinada posible, junto con tazas y cubiertos a juego. Lucilla se maravilla ante esto y no puede evitar sonreírle un poco ruborizada a su cita, diciéndole que jamás se esperaría algo así de hermoso, y que lo felicitaba por semejante trabajo bien cuidado. Emmet, visiblemente nervioso, le sonríe un poco avergonzado y admite que no fue él quien preparó esto, sino que su hermano, y que de hecho fue él quien sugirió esta sorpresa para merendar al anochecer, ya que Ingo quería que esta ansiada cita tuviera un final memorable. Lucilla ríe cálidamente ante esto y no puede evitar decir que definitivamente es algo que Ingo haría, sobre todo por su querido gemelo.
Emmet, un poco más tranquilo, le dice que tiene todo tipo de cosas preparadas listas para ser servidas, excepto el té, evidentemente, por lo que le pregunta de qué tipo desea beber. La joven no se lo piensa mucho y le dice lo que quiere, así que el Jefe Metro, antes de comenzar a prepararlo, la sienta muy educadamente frente a la inmaculada y elegante mesa. Oricorio y Escavalier se ponen a deambular alrededor de ellos y mirando a su alrededor, pareciendo maravillados ante el mágico claro. El mayordomo, mientras, prepara el té, y a continuación sirve una generosa cantidad de postres variados para que su chica elija los que quiera, y para sus pokémon también, por supuesto.
Cuando el té está listo para ser bebido, Emmet se lo sirve a la joven con el mayor profesionalismo posible, recibiendo un cumplido muy sincero de ella, y animándolo a continuar con ese camino, ya que se le da tan bien como ser un Jefe Metro, por mucho que lo de ser mayordomo sea algo bastante reciente en realidad.
El elegante hombre le sonríe agradecido y le cuenta entusiasmado lo mucho que ama ser mayordomo en su estancia en Passio, y que, el día que deje de ser un Jefe Metro —si es que llega a suceder—, se dedicará plenamente a ser mayordomo, más precisamente su mayordomo personal, ya que, sin duda, a quien más disfruta servir es a ella. Lucilla ante esto, duda internamente acerca de qué es más dulce, si el pastel que se está comiendo o si las palabras de Emmet, provocándole un tierno sonrojo. Un largo suspiro de ella pilla desprevenido al mayordomo, poniéndolo nervioso y preguntándole si dijo algo que la incomodara. La elegante joven le niega con una sonrisa y le dice que el pastel está realmente delicioso, pero que le gustaría que él se uniera también; sin embargo, Emmet le responde que no puede comer con ella al estar sirviéndole, y que todo lo que hay disponible para comer es sólo para ella; pero, ¿quién en su sano juicio podría comer tantos dulces? Si bien la idea fue de Ingo, Emmet le pidió que trajera la mayor cantidad de dulces que pudiera, ya que siempre es mejor que algo sobre a que falte, aunque esto significara tener suficiente cantidad como para alimentar a un Snorlax, lo cual son palabras mayores. Lucilla, con picardía, le dice que, como el mayordomo que es él, debe acatar las órdenes de a quien sirve, y le ordena estrictamente que coma y beba el té con ella, o de lo contrario lo castigará con cosquillas, cosa que ama hacer para molestarlo. Emmet, un poco rendido, accede y se sirve un poco de té junto a un apetecible y típico pastel de vainilla con fresas, para comer estando sentado frente a ella.
“Esto ha sido increíble, Emmet, jamás olvidaré este día,” le dice Lucilla mientras le sonríe agradecida justo antes de darle un bocado a su pastel.
“Ni lo menciones, es lo menos que podía hacer para compensar el haberte hecho esperar tanto; llevabas semanas insistiendo en tener una cita,” le responde su compañero con una gran sonrisa.
“¿El itinerario lo hiciste tú o te ayudó Ingo?” pregunta la chica.
“Lo hice yo, aunque lo de volar en Merlina no estaba planeado.” La sonrisa del mayordomo se tuerce un poco al recordar la experiencia de horas anteriores.
“Sí, sí, mucho miedo al principio, pero admite que lo pasaste bien a pesar de todo, ¿verdad?” le sonríe burlonamente la joven.
“Uhmmm..., supongo que sí, ya que el clima ha sido estupendo y Passio ya de por sí es una isla hermosa, así que era evidente que verla desde arriba no iba a ser menos,” le responde Emmet un poco nervioso.
“¿Sería demasiado pedir que nos montáramos de nuevo en un ratito más? Me encantaría surcar el cielo nocturno de Passio contigo,” le coquetea sutilmente Lucilla.
“Uh, yo...” El mayordomo mira el pastel que se está comiendo y luego levanta la mirada hacia su cita, incómodo. “No creo que sea buena idea hacerlo justo después de comer tanto, podríamos marearnos...”
“No te preocupes por eso, iremos despacio. ¿Podrías hacer ese pequeño sacrificio por mí?” le pregunta Lucilla mientras le sonríe y mira con fingida inocencia.
“En ese caso, no habría ningún problema, me ha encantado volar contigo, y a pesar del miedo quisiera repetir la experiencia… pero cuando me haya recuperado” le responde mientras le sonríe con total sinceridad.
“¡¿En serio?! ¡Gracias!” le agradece ella con una sonrisa emocionada, acabando su pastel con un último bocado.
“Emm..., y... Lucilla, quisiera saber si...” titubea Emmet, pero en ese momento se le cae el monóculo por décima vez en el día. “¡Ah!”
“¿Es tan difícil de llevar?” le pregunta Lucilla con una sonrisa juguetona y bromista. “Si fueras cualquier otra persona, te habría dicho que te lo quitaras para evitar molestias; pero se te ve tan lindo a ti que no quiero que lo guardes, y es aún más lindo es cuando se te cae, je, je.”
“Ya me acostumbraré a llevarlo, te lo prometo,” responde el mayordomo riéndose de sí mismo. De un salto y haciendo gala de su rapidez innata, Escavalier baja de la mesa al suelo para recogerlo y se lo entrega. “¡Gracias, Escavalier!” le agradece Emmet mientras se lo ajusta. El pokémon bicho parece muy contento por ese agradecimiento y emite un adorable sonido de satisfacción.
Pasan los minutos y ambos continúan charlando mientras son bañados por los últimos cálidos rayos del sol. Aún quedan unos resquicios de luz cuando están terminando de comer, por lo que Lucilla se incorpora y camina un poco hacia la dirección de la puesta del sol, observándola con imperturbable tranquilidad. El mayordomo se levanta también y se coloca a su lado, casi pegado, para mirar también el ocaso. La chica, ante esto, se le apega mimosamente, apoyando parte de su peso en él. Emmet, ruborizado y nervioso, decide agarrarla sutilmente de la cintura, provocando una leve risita de ésta, a lo que él reacciona con aún más sonrojo y nerviosismo. La joven sonríe suavemente mientras le dice cuánto le gusta molestarlo de esta manera, ya que ama su modo de sonrojarse, haciéndole ver más lindo y adorable de lo que ya es naturalmente, pero Emmet le responde que, aunque ella piense eso, él afirma con toda seguridad que ella es aún más linda y adorable de lo que él nunca será, dando por resultado que sea Lucilla quien se ruborice esta vez, respondiéndole con unas gracias sinceras. Emmet suspira un poco aliviado ante la situación, y cuando pensó que podría relajarse más y disfrutar el momento, su cita le da un cálido y amoroso beso en la mejilla, provocando el mayor sonrojo de la historia en este Jefe Metro. Lucilla ríe con ganas ante esta expresión durante unos segundos, para luego mirarlo con infinito cariño y ternura.
“El mejor mayordomo merece el mejor premio. ¿O tal vez prefieras otra cosa?” le pregunta Lucilla.
Emmet niega rápidamente mientras trata de recomponerse, llevándose la mano izquierda hacia la mejilla recientemente besada por ella. “La única recompensa que quiero es que seas feliz,” le dice. “Pero ese beso fue la mejor recompensa que he recibido nunca,” admite finalmente, nervioso.
Antes de que Lucilla pueda articular palabra, Oricorio se sube rápidamente a los hombros de su entrenadora y le pide un beso, casi como si se hubiera puesto celoso. La orgullosa joven ríe divertida ante la situación y le da un amistoso beso en la frente a su compañero, quien queda de lo más satisfecho con eso. Emmet duda de si regresarle el beso o no, ya que, aunque ganas no le falten de eso y mucho más, no quiere comprometer la amistad que tienen. Los pensamientos del mayordomo son interrumpidos por un abrazo que le da su chica, y le dice que quiere que él la abrace también. Emmet titubea un momento debido al repentino momento íntimo, y antes de que pudiera moverse, Lucilla añade, entre risas, que es una orden, por lo que él no puede negarse. Un poco nervioso, él accede a la petición y la abraza con sumo cuidado justo antes de que el último rayo del ocaso se pierda en el horizonte. Ambos quedan en silencio unos momentos, y Emmet, aunque un poco indeciso, se atreve a acariciar tímidamente el cabello de Lucilla, quien reacciona con una sonrisa satisfecha.
“¿Sabes? Deberías tomar la iniciativa un poco más a menudo,” susurra Lucilla un poco coqueta.
Emmet se paraliza en el acto con una rígida sonrisa, y se pone a pensar en mil maneras de responder ante eso, pero termina viéndose igual que un Slowpoke que acaba de sufrir amnesia. Ella se vuelve a mirarlo.
“¿Podrías quitarte los guantes un momento? Por favor,” le pide amablemente. “Quiero sentir tu piel, aunque sea un poco.”
El joven de cabello gris sacude un poco el rostro en señal de haber espabilado y, aunque tembloroso, se saca ambos guantes.
“¿Qué debería hacer ahora?”
La chica lo mira a los ojos con una encantadora sonrisa y le pide amistosamente que le acaricie el rostro con suavidad, mimándola. El mayordomo sonríe nervioso y agradecido a la vez con un evidente rubor, y, con sus manos, ya no tan temblorosas, decide acariciarle las mejillas como si fuera el ser más delicado del mundo, pareciendo temer que se pudiera quebrar en cualquier instante como el cristal más fino. Lucilla agradece ese encantador toque y le sonríe con gran cariño mientras cierra los ojos disfrutando el momento, haciendo que Emmet se enternezca hasta puntos insospechados y tenga el incontenible impulso de querer besarla. Así que, en vez de contenerse como lo haría siempre, decide acceder ante la tentación y le clava un sutil y cálido beso en la frente, casi en señal de protección, pero que está cargado de amor hacia ella.
El tiempo parece detenerse durante los breves segundos que dura el beso, incluso Escavalier y Oricorio se les quedan mirando como si esperaran a que algo más sucediera, pero cuando Emmet rompe el beso, se le ve más colorado que un Throh y se queda estático, casi como si estuviera esperando a una inminente reprimenda. Lejos de eso, Lucilla está increíblemente satisfecha de haber recibido un tierno beso en la frente de parte de su querido Jefe Metro —aunque, interiormente, ligeramente decepcionada de que no haya sido en sus labios—, por lo que no puede evitar sonreír divertida y agradecida a la par, devolviéndoselo de un salto, lo cual toma a Emmet por sorpresa durante un instante.
“¡Ese es mi mayordomo Emmet! ¡Así me gusta! ¡Con ese tipo de iniciativa!” le felicita la joven con leve tono de burla.
“Yo soy Emmet, y quiero hacer que todos sonrían y se diviertan,” se responde a sí mismo el joven de sonrisa imperturbable con bastante orgullo y satisfacción, tratando de no mostrarse nervioso y ruborizado debido al beso recibido, mientras vuelve a colocarse los guantes.
Lucilla le comenta que, aunque le encanten los resultados de su esfuerzo para ser el mejor mayordomo y sea lo más profesional posible; aun así, le gusta que se salga del papel de vez en cuando, que no tiene que ser tan rígido con ella, ya que son cercanos y no les falta confianza mutua. Él le responde que seguirá tratando de mejorar en todos los aspectos posibles para que sus experiencias sean de lo más gratificantes.
Ahora que el sol se ocultó y las primeras luces de Passio se han estado encendiendo, Lucilla le dice a Emmet que se prepare para otro viaje sobre Merlina, pero asegurándole que volarán lento y a baja altura para que no se asuste. El Jefe Metro se prepara mentalmente, inspirando y suspirando lenta y profundamente mientras llena su cabeza de imágenes tranquilas para serenarse. Tras estar unos segundos así, le sonríe con cierta impaciencia y nerviosismo diciéndole que ya está listo —o más o menos—, para disfrutar del nocturno paisaje de la isla artificial. Sabe que un miedo no es tan fácil de controlar, pero no le faltan ganas de intentarlo. Al oír esto, Lucilla vuelve a sacar a su orgullosa Corviknight y, esta vez, Emmet le ayuda a subirse, para así poder mostrarse más confiado y profesional que antes del almuerzo, lo cual la muchacha agradece con grata sorpresa.
Apenas el mayordomo monta sobre Merlina, intenta con todas sus fuerzas no temblar, pero que de todas formas sus nervios lo traicionan y se evidencia lo asustado que está por mucho que trate de ocultarlo. Lucilla le observa y le sugiere que no tiene por qué esforzarse tanto y que pueden dirigirse hacia su destino andando, a lo que Emmet se niega empeñándose en intentarlo. Ante esto, la joven le dice que entonces solo le queda felicitarlo, no solo por su valor sino por haberse puesto delante en esta ocasión, ya que así es ella quien puede abrazarlo desde atrás esta vez, lo cual hace inmediatamente bastante a gusto. Emmet traga saliva nervioso y sonrojado, pero agradecido consigo mismo por haberse armado de valor de ser él quien vaya adelante, ya que precisamente buscaba que fuera su cita quien lo abrazara por la espalda y no al revés.
Antes de que el tren de pensamiento de Emmet llegara a su destino, Lucilla le da la orden a Merlina para que se eleven unos cuantos metros en el cielo, provocando un repentino grito del Jefe Metro.
“¡Ja, ja, ja, ja! ¡Perdón, perdón! Pensé que ya estabas preparado,” ríe Lucilla arrepentida del inesperado y rápido despegue.
Emmet, temblando más que un Ditto ebrio, gira su cabeza lentamente con una sonrisa torcida y le asegura que está mejor de lo que parece, sólo para no preocuparla, pero que es evidente que este susto lo recordará por mucho tiempo. La joven intenta tranquilizarlo acariciando su brazo, casi masajeándolo, para demostrarle que estará bien. El joven de cabello gris se relaja de a poco gracias a esto, da un gran suspiro, y le dice que, aunque sigue con miedo, realmente quiere disfrutar de la vista aérea nocturna de Passio y, por ende, le pide que le dé la orden a su Corviknight para que comience a reanudar su marcha. Lucilla, sorprendida y satisfecha ante la iniciativa nuevamente, le pide a Merlina que prosiga suavemente, quien obedece sin perder un segundo, dando comienzo así a un agradable viaje por el precioso cielo de la exuberante Passio.
Tras unos buenos minutos de agradable vuelo, la parejita baja a tierra, y Emmet, nervioso como era de esperar, casi cae al suelo debido al temblor de sus piernas, suspirando de alivio al volver a pisar tierra nuevamente. Lucilla, preocupada, le ayuda a no desmayarse ahí mismo, sujetándolo con firmeza y hablándole con calidez y serenidad, lo cual agradece su mayordomo y le sonríe enternecido.
Tras recomponerse, le pregunta si quiere que vayan a algún lugar más antes de acabar su itinerario. Tal declaración pilla por sorpresa a la entrenadora, ya que pensó que la merienda en el claro era la última parada prevista, pero su cita le dice que aún pueden disponer de un poco más de tiempo antes de llegar a su destino, así que le pregunta si antes quisiera ir a cenar a algún lado, donde ella quiera, si es que ha quedado con hambre.
Lucilla lo piensa unos momentos, y le responde con entusiasmo que, cuando pasearon esta mañana, notó un pequeño y humilde puesto de comida ambulante que le llamó la atención, por lo que, aunque el lugar sea poco glamuroso para el tipo de vestimenta que llevan ahora, le encantaría poder comer ahí. Emmet, con una sonrisa emocionada, le asegura que no tiene estrictamente que ser un sitio elegante, que estará encantado ir a donde sea que ella le diga, ya que desea complacerla como el buen mayordomo que es.
Así que comienzan a caminar tranquilamente hacia dicho puesto, donde el mayordomo caballerosamente le ofreció su brazo nuevamente a la elegante entrenadora, la cual aceptó gustosa otra vez y le volvió a felicitar por su iniciativa, resultando en una agradecida y algo nerviosa risilla de él.
Cuando llegan al sitio, ven que el puesto está vacío y que es atendido por un señor mayor. La comida huele increíble y hay buena variedad de cosas a pesar de ser un puesto pequeño y humilde. Ambos se sientan y comienzan a debatir sobre qué deberían elegir, mientras el anciano, sorprendido, les comenta muy sinceramente sobre lo hermosos y elegantes que son los trajes que llevan puestos.
La velada se hace muy amena entre los tres charlando, donde el señor comenta que él también fue entrenador en sus años mozos, y que, si bien no tiene un Oricorio o un Escavalier como compañero al que lleva a todos lados, sí que tiene un simpático Nincada, pero que no le acompaña esta vez debido a que prefirió quedarse en casa, pero que espera impaciente su regreso. Oricorio queda algo sorprendido al oír esto e intercambia unas miradas Escavalier y luego con su entrenadora, que parece no entenderlo bien en ese momento, a lo que Emmet le explica que cree que Oricorio no puede imaginarse un sólo día sin estar pegada a ella, razón por la que el pokémon se sorprendió al oír la declaración del entrenador de Nincada. Lucilla se enternece y acaricia a su adorable pokémon pájaro, quien emite un evidente sonido de satisfacción para luego continuar comiendo junto a Escavalier.
Cuando terminan de comer, Emmet le dice un poco nervioso que la acompañará a su habitación en Passio, a lo que le Lucilla le pregunta en broma si quiere quedarse a dormir. Tal declaración provoca que el rostro del Jefe Metro se vuelva al rojo vivo y que niegue rápidamente, argumentando que no sólo sería incorrecto y poco profesional hacer eso, sino que además debe trabajar mañana, no pudiéndose dar el lujo de levantarse tarde. Ésta ríe bastante divertida por la respuesta de su cita, y le dice que, a pesar de que estaba bromeando, entiende la situación, pero que tampoco quisiera separarse de él todavía al haberlo pasado tan increíble el día de hoy.
“¡No sabes cuánto me alegra saberlo! ¡Me encanta hacer sonreír a los demás y que disfruten! ¡Pero más me gusta hacerte sonreír a ti, Lucilla! Estoy tan conmovido~~,” expresa el mayordomo en un momento de dicha.
La joven ríe enternecida por esto y le agradece nuevamente la maravillosa cita que han tenido. Emmet, para no retrasar la situación, le ofrece el brazo a la chica para encaminarla hacia su dormitorio mientras observan las animosas luces nocturnas de Passio y charlan de cosas mundanas.
Cuando llegan a la puerta del dormitorio de la joven, Emmet se quita el sombrero y le hace una reverencia, agradeciéndole su paciencia para concretar esta cita, y por haberle dado la oportunidad no solo de estrechar sus lazos con ella todavía más, sino también de haber tenido la posibilidad de pasar un agradable día a su lado.
La elegante muchacha le pide que por favor no la haga esperar tanto para una próxima cita, que no quisiera esperar semanas insistiendo nuevamente.
“Haré todo lo posible para hacer otro hueco dentro de poco en mi apretada agenda,” el hombre le responde, incorporándose mientras se vuelve a poner el sombrero. “Mantente atenta al porygófono por si hay novedades,” le pide.
“Si acaso no nos vamos a llamar en mucho tiempo, siempre podemos recurrir a comunicarnos vía mensajes mientras tanto,” le sugiere en broma Lucilla.
“Debido a mi trabajo, a veces no puedo revisar todos mis mensajes, pero me esforzaré por responder al menos uno por día. E incluso, si llego a tener unos minutos, te llamaré,” le responde el mayordomo con una serena sonrisa. Para sus adentros, Emmet piensa que prefiere hacer esto antes que escribirle, ya que ama escuchar su voz, pero es algo que no se atreve a decirle por el momento; al menos, no a corto plazo.
Lucilla sonríe aceptando esas condiciones, y le dice que le mandará mensajes todos los días y que esperará con ansias que los responda, deseando que en uno de ellos o en una llamada, le diga que tiene sitio para otra cita. Emmet asiente entusiasmado y trata de despedirse de ella tratando de abrazarla, pero luego dudando en el último momento.
La chica lo nota y se le apega a él, riñéndolo un poco por haber titubeado, mientras que Emmet, tragándose su disculpa, decide finalmente devolverle el abrazo, acariciándole luego suavemente la cabeza mientras le desea las buenas noches, con la voz más cálida jamás pronunciada por él.
Conmovida por este gesto, y sin poder contenerse ya más, Lucilla cede a su impulso de darle un beso en la mejilla, cosa que hace tan rápido que Emmet apenas tiene tiempo para reaccionar, ruborizándose intensamente cuando cae en la cuenta de lo que acaba de suceder, y viendo entonces que la joven le hace un gesto con los dedos para darle a entender que ella también quiere un beso en la mejilla. El Jefe Metro traga saliva con nerviosismo y sonrojo, pero se atreve a besarla sin temblar ni tener dudas al respecto. Agradecida infinitamente por ello, Lucilla y le desea las buenas noches también, regalándole la más hermosa de las sonrisas justo antes de entrar en su dormitorio y cerrar la puerta, dando por resultado que el mayordomo se derrita para sus adentros y no pueda evitar suspirar enamorado, agradecido por el mejor día de su vida.

Comfort Songs from Female Artists:
Heart - Taeyeon
Heart is a phenomenal ballad from Taeyeon. The heartbeat-like guitar pulse is a very clever touch, and immerses you into an emotional state of mind immediately. The lovely but simple arrangement allows for Taeyeon’s signature piercing vocals to absolutely soar. The Korean title “품" means hug/embrace, a very apt title for a song that truly feels like a comforting hug. The lyrics are full of warmth and meaning. Especially the lines “You recognize the scar that I wanted to hide the most, give a kiss on it, gently pacify it and make it heal", highlighting the powerful message that the ultimate act of love is recognizing someone's vulnerability and treating it with tenderness.
LMM - Hwasa
LMM might have more recognition now, since Hwasa performed it at this year's Blue Dragon Awards to pay respect to the passing of actor Lee Sung Kyun. A very touching song, it made for a very touching tribute (so thoughtfully swapped into the performance lineup by Hwasa herself). Her rich and raspy voice is perfectly soft and haunting in the verses, yet emotional and filled with power in the chorus. Hwasa's signature to her solo work is the deep and contemplative nature of her lyrics. LMM (standing for "Lost My Mind") is a perfect example of this. “Flowers bloom even in the falling rain” is a very poignant way of expressing the message of keeping resilience and strength in the face of dark times.
Breathe - Lee Hi
Being one of Jonghyun’s most famous songs that he wrote, Breathe has a certain lingering perception to it. But just as Jonghyun deserves to be fully celebrated for his remarkable artistry, this song deserves full appreciation as the balm of comfort and healing it was written to be. Ultimately, Breathe tells everyone going through burdensome times that you are worthy and have permission to breathe through it all. Lee Hi is the perfect artist to deliver this, as there is a rawness and realness to her vocals, making the impact of this emotional ballad hit that much harder. 정말 수고했어요.
As Time Goes By - Yoon Mirae
Yoon Mirae is a music icon in S. Korea, but very regrettably does not earn much widespread recognition for her contributions to the k-music scene from international fans. (A travesty!) Though she's most celebrated for her rapping, there is a reason why her singing voice remains in high demand for Korean OSTs. There is a rare present quality to her voice that makes you feel that she's in the same room as you, and singing to you directly. This album and track was released all the way back in 2001 so it's a rare chance that newer fans are familiar with it, but it's such a wonderful classic R&B number that instantly soothes the soul.
It Hurts (아파) (Slow) - 2NE1
An R&B-flavored ballad delivered by one of the most iconic Kpop girl groups of all time - It Hurts highlights the advantages of ballads sung by groups vs. solo artists, as every member's unique vocal color shines in the trade-off of lines, perfectly demonstrated by 2NE1 (a group so ahead of their time). It Hurts is possibly one of 2NE1’s most underrated B-side tracks and one of the numbers that best showcases their powerful and beautiful vocals (given their otherwise dance music heavy discography).
Star - Jessi
Star is less of a crooning ballad and more of a mix of ballad singing with the charismatic rap we associate with Jessi. The absolute vulnerability she portrays in the vocals of this song can take you aback, given Jessi's usual outspoken and boisterous image. Yet she showcases her sensitivity so openly through her singing, which is undeniably beautiful and (no pun intended) the star of the song. The powerful rapping and lyrics in true Jessi fashion, holds nothing back while expressing the challenges of her career and life. The mix comes together in a truly underrated track from her that is equal parts strong and touching, and maybe one of her best.

HEY IM SO SORRY I'M SO LATE WDHWHKJWHWD. There was so much happening lately and I haven't had the time to actually write out a thought out post 😭 but I'm finally here!! Let's do this!!
1.What’s the most depressing movie you’ve ever watched?
This is kind of hard because I haven't watched REALLY depressing films lol?? But one of the more depressing films I've watched was Breathe (the one starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy). It's about how Robin Cavendish was struck by polio and his life afterwards, and how his and his wife's relationship was affected by it. It really does sound depressing when I summarize it like that, but it's actually really hopeful and most especially triumphant, which I loved. An absolutely beautiful film btw, which I HIGHLY recommend (I can send you a copy if you want to watch it and are having trouble finding it!).
But yeah, that's probably one of the more depressing films I've watched so far. I'm sure there are others, but I can't actually remember them right now smh
8. Which book would you like to see adapted into a film/TV Show?
You know, one of my favorite book series, Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland, was actually supposed to become a Netflix series. AND THEY CANCELLED IT. So I'd really like it if they would pick that up again. I'd also love to see a show adaptation of the Zodiac Legacy by Stan Lee! It'd be EPIC. I'd also love to see a short film of Once Upon A Time In The North by Philip Pullman so I could see Lin-Manuel Miranda play that version of Lee Scoresby! I did enjoy his portrayal of Lee in the His Dark Materials series, but I really wanna see him play a version of Lee that fits his style of Lee better! It'd be a lot of fun, and I could never say no to more Lee Scoresby! I also think a Studio Ghibli adaptation of Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi, and a Laika Studios adaptation of The Wonderling by Mira Bartok would be absolutely gorgeous!
16. A film/TV Show you love but everyone else hates?
Oh okay this is good, because I'm kind of known in my circle as someone who's really forgiving towards films and series that aren't that good. It's not that I can't tell it isn't that good, or that I can't see its flaws, it's just that I generally know how to enjoy it despite that. Because that's how I like to enjoy things!!
Anyway some movies that a lot of people hated that I absolutely loved actually is Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man duology. Yes, I know it isn't perfect, but things don't have to be perfect for you to love them anyway!!! I love those films!! He's my favorite Spider-Man and everything 😭 yes I DID watch both the Sam Raimi and MCU Spider-Man films too, but there's just something about The Amazing Spider-Man that I really love. BESIDES how cute Andrew Garfield is in it :>>>
