A Nightmare Come True

(Mike Schmidt x Reader)

Errr, I’ve always used Tumblr to read instead of write, but I was overcome by the fact that I want Mike Schmidt SO bad, so I made this. Pretty sure I’ll write another part soon!

Summary: Reader babysits Abby for free because she likes Mike.

How old was I? “21,” I cringed, unable to understand how someone my age could act so spinelessly. I urgently needed the money to support myself through college and pay my rent, and yet I kept returning here every night, relishing every “I’ll pay you later—I promise,” from Mike because I just couldn’t resist the desperation in his voice.

Then there was Abby, who miraculously started eating only a few nights into babysitting her. I remember that night vividly, actually, including the harrowing nightmare she shook me awake from as she shamelessly stated, “I’m hungry,” upon opening my eyes.

I stupidly stared at Abby, asking her to repeat herself in hopes that this wasn’t just another dream. After all, I had been terrorized by several children around her age; and in my weary state, I just couldn’t comprehend her realness. When Abby specifically requested enchiladas, a food I’d told her I was great at making earlier that day, that was when I understood I had been spared from my nightmare.

That’s all I would allow myself to look back to, at least while Mike was hours away from returning home. Abby was fast asleep in her room, her door slightly ajar in case I still wanted to have that sleepover with her. I didn’t want to cross any boundaries, however, secretly fearful of losing a job I wasn’t even being paid to do.

God, did I want to join her, though. I couldn’t even rest my eyes for a few minutes without being taken back to where I last was in that nightmare. It was strange, really, because everything I’ve ever dreamt of—up until that moment—had been unique and spontaneous. So why was I being met with the same thing every time I closed my eyes?

“You just can’t sleep on the couch anymore,” I tried to rationalize with myself.

While I watched Tom & Jerry on the living room TV, which kept the house from being enveloped in complete and utter silence, I mentally debated if I should ask Mike about using his room. Obviously, I couldn’t sleep throughout the entire night, but between 12 A.M. to 6 A.M., I really needed a nap or two to keep me from knocking out completely.

As if Mike’s bed would heal me from the nightmares—it was just an excuse to get closer to him, because our relationship was unfortunately platonic. I would never be able to hold the man, but I would at least smell like him if I could nap in his bed, right? Whatever softener or detergent Mike used to do his laundry, I don’t know, but it smelled so good.

I cringed at how…desperate the thought sounded, but I was hopelessly attracted to Mike. I wasn’t planning on admitting my feelings to him anytime soon, however. The most contact he and I have ever had was purely unintentional. When he would return home from work, he’d carelessly plop himself down on the couch, oblivious of our closeness as he whisper-ranted about his new job. Meanwhile, all I could focus on was how taut his thigh was against mine.

I would’ve felt very ashamed of myself if it weren’t for Tom getting his shit rocked for the 100th time. His famous “YeeOWW!” bounced off the living room walls as he shot his own tail, Nibbles the mouse having escaped on time. I don’t know how many episodes I watched worth of this show, but it definitely occupied me long enough that when the doorknob suddenly rattled, I shot up from my spot on the couch—was someone trying to break in?

“Hey?” Mike said as he closed the door behind him, his eyebrows knitted in confusion.

I slowly settled back down, nervously chuckling as I explained he’d just caught me off guard.

“I swear it was just 3 o’clock,” I said, feeling the couch dip beside me as I reached for the remote.

As the TV screen turned pitch black, Mike exhaled deeply. Something was off, and his troubled expression only served to solidify my suspicion. I mindlessly wrung my hands as I waited for Mike to speak.

His mouth hung slightly open, and he stared at nothing in particular. Whatever Mike was preparing to tell me, I had not a damn clue, but it probably wasn’t part of our usual conversations.

I couldn’t bear the silence a moment longer.

“Are you—“

“I can’t pay you,” Mike suddenly revealed to me.

“Oh,” I said, not knowing how else to respond.

I gingerly placed my hand on his shoulder, a poor attempt to offer the man some sort of comfort. There was an indisputable tenseness in his body, and he had attempted to mask it until I did the unthinkable: I touched him. Awkwardly, I rubbed the pad of my thumb against his shoulder, hoping that the action would be somewhat soothing.

“You could stay here,” Mike hastily said, “You won’t have to worry about rent—it’s the least I can do for not paying you for babysitting Abby.”

My hand remained on his shoulder, but it was no longer moving. Had I heard him correctly? Mike, the man I have secretly been pining over, offered me a place in his home. I couldn’t just accept his offer, though. I had shame, so I had to decline…at least before eventually acquiescing, of course.

“Oh, Mike,” I shook my head, “You don’t have to pay me right now.”

Suddenly, Mike rushed towards Abby’s bedroom, albeit with a silent precision. Carefully, he shut her door, proceeding to disappear into the hallway before the kitchen. When he resumed his position beside me, he bore a hefty yellow pamphlet in his grasp. All I could do was sit in shock as I caught a glimpse of the title: FAMILY COURT MATTER.

“My fucking aunt wants me to sign over custody of Abby,” Mike stated bluntly, throwing the pamphlet down on the carpet as if it had burned his fingers, “I’m not fit to be her guardian, I know that, but I can’t—look, Jane doesn’t care about her. She only wants Abby for the money.”

The idea of moving in suddenly made sense now. A part of me felt disappointed at the revelation, but if Mike needed further help, and I could have at least one less financial burden in my life, I’d be an idiot and a horrible friend to decline his suggestion.

“I’m assuming she’s planning on visiting sometime soon?” I asked, to which he nodded in visible disappointment.

Mike didn’t say anything more after that, but I knew that his offer was still on the table. Luckily for me, there was no lease between my uncle and I, so moving out wasn’t going to be an issue, save for transporting my stuff.

“I can move in…today,” I said, feeling his eyes on me as soon as I uttered those words, “I don’t got much in terms of furniture, just my bed and a dresser, but I got clothes and some personal belongings that I could use help with bringing over.”

The troubled expression on Mike’s face had been replaced with one of gratitude, and in spite of my disappointment, I smiled. Even though I wasn’t going to be sleeping in his bed, I was still content with our new arrangement.

“You, uh, can sleep in my bed for now,” Mike said, getting up from the couch and plucking the pamphlet off the floor with a forced nonchalance, “I’m sure we’re both tired, and we’re going to need the energy to help you move out.”

“Never mind,” I thought.

I swallowed the excitement that threatened to overcome me, offering Mike a measly, “Okay,” as I fixed the pillows on the couch. While I did that, he shoved the pamphlet back in the drawer, muttering “Come on,” before leading me to his bedroom. Fortunately, Mike was too busy trying to play off his suggestion as innocent to notice my giddiness. He could have just told me to stay on the couch, but he didn’t. Maybe our relationship wasn’t as platonic as I thought it was.

That morning we slept back-to-back. I was comforted by his scent and the sound of his gentle breaths, but I was not at peace. When I thought I had been lulled into a blissful slumber, I was met with the same children who had terrorized me since I started babysitting Abby. This time around, however, I was in a forest, facing all five children alongside Mike.

“What are you doing here?”

HEY WAIT A MINUTE!!!

Remember back in “Ephemeral” when Gabriel told Adrien to represend him at the 100th collection launch bc Gabriel is obsessed with terrorism and a shit dad?

Yeah? Good. Do you also remember what his excuse was?

Gabe my Babe, youre not feeling what? You’re not felling WELL? As in...sick? So only Adrien is left to take your position/ represent you in this immensly influencial business because Nathalie isnt feeling peachy either?

But oh! How interesting! Nathalie is shown to help Adrien get through this despite being in very bad health herself

Why does all of that ring some kind of faint bell?

Ah, yes!

That was very specific forshadowing!

Which does make alot of sense when you think about it. “Elation” already showed us that the cataclysm injury is starting to cause Gabriel physical pain again in episode 9:

and non of this is going to get any better for him, thats for sure.

For Nathalie though I had assumed by the end of s4 that Nathalie IS able to get back to full health again, but now “Passion” says that she’s doomed too:

So it seems Nathalie may have gotten better by now when it comes to the direct symptoms of the overuse of the peacock miraculous, but that doesnt stop the fatal long-term effects it has on her body. I guess that does check out.

And that means, with both Gabriel and Nathalie doomed to their ever futher-spreading illnesses set up to result in death, at some point neither of them can represent the business anymore without risking people catching onto the sicknesses. So I guess that only leaves the very obvious solution of having Adrien be the one to take over the position.

Although it does raise the questions of if or how Gabriels sickness can remain a secret from Adrien in all of this. Sure, NOW thats still possible to cover up but in what condition will he be in in another 9 episodes? Is Gabriel just never going to leave the lair again later in the season and Nathalie will tell Adrien that his father left elsewhere (without proplerly saying goodbye; season 4 finale possibly forshadowed that the other way around with Adrien leaving and Gabriel staying) and now Adrien has to fill in some of his fathers responsibilities? I mean, Adrien would have the time for it now that he isnt a model anymore.

Edit: The Tsurugi business might end up threatening to take over Gabriels business near the end too, since it’ll simply need a competent adult leader with gabriel and Nathalie down. That would fit surprisingly WELL too now in s5!

I dont see any reason why “Ephemeral” shouldnt have been legit forshadowing for s5, it sure felt weirdly “next-level for the Agreste story” in season 4.

Well we are well into Season 5 now. But I will try and summarize everything that happened that was important.

TIME FOR A GALE RECAP!

Season 4

-Luka and Marinette broke up in the first episode, Kagami and Adrien in the second.

-Jagged stone is Juleka and Luka's dad.

-Alya finds out that Marinette is ladybug because Marinette tells her

-Hawkmoth calls himself shadow moth

-The Peacock miraculous is fixed

-Ladybug gets a new form when she uses lucky charm.

-Ladybug can create akuma repealing charms

-Gabriel bottomed for a clown

-Turns out Fu wasnt the worst guardian because Su Han exists

-Chloe has a half-sister named Zoe who is basically her but not evil.

-Zoe becomes the new bee

-Chloé is back to season 1 self but now even more cartoonishly evil

-Felix returns and figures out Gabriel is shadowmoth immediately.

-All of the class gets their miraculous hero time at one point. (Four of them get it in one episode near the end of the season.)

-Alya gets the fox permanently, then has to pretend she isnt rena rouge anymore because plot.

-Alya gets to use the ladybug miraculous for a day

-Ladybug and chat noir are said to be couple of the year but ladybug hated the idea so much she yeets chat noir into a garbage can

-Kagami reads manga and is best girl this season

-Nino reveals to Adrien he is carapace and Alya is Rena Rouge because he thought Chat noir was a slut

-Sabine got akumatized due to racism

-Tikki is actually a hunger gremlin but gets over it

-Luka finds out Marinette is ladybug and Adrien is Chat noir but lies about knowing

-The 100th episode was a what if episode where Gabriel wins but not really. It was terrible and not worth viewing

-Adrien quits being chat noir due to all of the crap and feeling not valued only to come back as Chat Walker and Ladybug falls for him. He ends up returning as chat noir even though nothing really changed.

-Then there is an episode where Gabriel makes all of Paris act risky thanks to an akuma.

-Adrien tells Marinette he doesnt want to be a model

-Marinette trying to confess to him but plot interferes

-Felix appears and swaps places with Adrien and finds emilie in the basement

-Felix gets the dog miraculous and manages to snatch all of the miraculous except Ladybug and Chat noir's

-He trades them for the peacock which Gabriel agrees too

-Ladybug breaks down and almost gives up but chat noir is there to bring her back up

-Ladynoir had a family in a dream

-Gabriel pretends to be a parent

-Nino makes a secret group to fight Monarch... ends up recruiting Lila and Gabriel

-Kagami and Luka are sick of bulls*** and try and pair up Marinette and Adrien

-Adrien realizes he's been in love with Marinette since the statue scene

-Marinette realizes she is in love with Chat noir

-There is a kwami swap episode that was ACTUALLY good

-Nathalie was actually Lara Craft in a past life

-The Kwamitoga is actually useful

-Joan of arc had an enemies to lovers slow burn with her Chat noir

-Marinette and Chat noir end up going on a date and Andre is NOT having it

-Marichat Kiss TWICE

-And the next episodes in order is a two parter where Zoe apparently gets the cat miraculous and Alya gets the ladybug miraculous again

I told myself I wasn't going to ever make this post. Because I had hope. Because I wanted to believe that Miraculous had decent writing and that the sentiadren theory was not the pinnacle of what they could accomplish. Then season 5 happened. The first few episodes were good, it even forced me to make my blog solely Miraculous themed because the interactions I had with everyone were so much fun. Heck youve seen the reaction posts I did both in character and as myself.

(under the cut is a bunch of writing that you can take as me explaining my reasoning or just complaining. Either way, if you're hoping for anymore Miraculous content from me? Stories or screen caps, you best unfollow. Because I'm done.)

But then the leaks came. And, like an ancient being unable to properly use Facebook, I failed to avoid them. I told myself that certain spoilers didn't matter, that I could wait until the actual episodes came out to decide whether or not the salt was justified, that with a terrible memory like mine I'd forget it in no time (just look at some of the other screw ups I've made regarding Miraculous, it's not that far fetched.) However, as the number of Miraculous tags and blogs I followed began to grow the number of consenting opinions grew as well.

There are those who hate Marinette for being obsessed or a stalker when it comes to Adrien (who Id like to point out has had several episodes where we've seen his obsessed stalkers. Now Wayhem is creepy.) Those who love her and believe that all against her should suffer (which I was briefly a part of and still must fight my Alya bias even now.) And the same goes for the rest of the characters. But I still wanted to sit back and form my own opinions as cleanly as possible.

Needless to say, I failed. The more I stepped back and looked at the episodes, the more spoilers I failed to avoid to the episode screenshots I saw despite not having seen said episode yet. It all resulted in one clear opinion in my mind. Season 5 is a letdown. Not only because it's an out of order mess with the release dates but because it seemed more and more like pandering. Sentitheory is confirmed, Adrinette becomes canon, Lila gets revealed, Chloe gets punished and we get some LGBTQ+ recognition in the form of Zoe. (And Miss Bustier if I'm hearing right but I'm not really sure about that one.)

That should have been great, I'm all for writers letting the fans know they're appreciated. I was a brony during the 100th episode. That was like ambrosia for us fans. This? Felt like bad fanfiction and I know bad fanfiction, I've written tons of it. Firstly, why Zoe? If you're going to piss off Disney and other broadcasters, which I believe is why it was never done before, then why not confirm Rose and Juleka? Or Marc and Nathaniel? Why spend an episode saying something the fandom had basically decided the moment Zoe first showed up? And apparently it's just an end of episode confirmation where Marinette says she's flattered? I mean I get it but really? I don't know whether to be proud of her for not making a big deal of it or disappointed that the show doesn't make a bigger deal of it considering just how hard a confession like that can be. But you know what? I haven't watched the episode and I'm not going too so I probably shouldn't judge it.

What I will judge the everloving shit out of is the handling of Luka and Chloe. Luka must leave Paris because he knows who LB and CN are. That makes sense, we've seen in Star train that HawkMoth can't really sense or control his akuma's once they leave Paris so they'd have to leave to hunt Luka down. However Luka found out halfway through last season and, outside Ephemeral (which is its own set of issues) is never brought up. Seriously? I'm all for the Lukagami team up (which didn't actually end in Lukagami) for getting Adrinette together but you couldn't have had him pop up in a few more episodes to have him give excuses for the heroes to get away? Maybe pop up a bit more in support of Adrien? I'd be more upset if I hadn't known about the whole Luka leaving Paris, along with the Zoe confession, since BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED. But again, seperate issues.

And then there's Chloe. Oh Chloe. Now I wouldn't call myself a Chloe Stan. Until I actually started writing out ideas I didn't like her. She's the civilian foil to Marinette who is only put up with because her Daddy's the mayor and Adrien remembers when they had fun as little kids. The terrible airing of episodes didn't help either. Had I not been taking notes on every episode and had they not marathoned them on tv leading up to the release of the movies, I would have never put the pieces of her character together. Her self doubt, her abandonment by her mother, Mr. Cuddles and sucking her thumb? That is not the actions of evil incarnate. And what does the show do? LITERALLY REPLACE HER WITH ZOE!

And I don't mean the salty fans complaining about Mary Zoe as a replacement. No, the show doubles down by having the mayor adopt Zoe and send Chloe off with the mother who refuses to get her name right that Chloe doubts actually loves her. That? Is beyond fucked up. That? Is something I'd have written back when I didn't fully understand how tribulations and pain were parts of character growth. Just a simple "nah, Chloe bad. Zoe better. Just have Zoe." Seriously do you know how long it took me to realise that you can't just get rid of the bad guy if you want to make a good story?

And then, to cap it all off. HawkMoth gets his wish. On the bright side, if you wanted to know why Bunnix didn't show up until Evolution or during Ephemeral? That's why. Apparently Marinette feeling like a complete and utter failure is necessary for the future Alix comes from to happen. In fact, had Ephemeral happened before Wishmaker? Wed basically be watching season 6 right now. How else was Luka supposed to know what the hell Ladybug was talking about? Dudes not that smart I'm sorry. Hell nobody in the show is.

Seriously, who's genius fucking idea was it to have HawkMoth win this far into the show? Need I remind all of you how the wish is meant to work? It's a reset. A complete erasure and rewrite. There should be no "keeping secrets from Adrien" drama because, as far as the entire UNIVERSE is aware Emilie Agreste never vanished and whatever happened to Gabriel always happened. Hell the only one keeping secrets in this new world should be the kwamis since they're apparently the only ones who recognise what a reset looks like meaning they've experienced it before. And apparently they're all with their holders in this new universe? Hell I may watch the last episode just to figure out what crap they pull to try and explain everything. And why we should care about anything that happened in the past 8 YEARS if the "grand plan" of Astruc was just to erase it!

..... Sorry. I got way more frustrated towards the end there than I should have. If you have read this entire thing? Thanks and I'm sorry if I've wasted your time. What started out for me as a wonderful show about magic and love and typical good vs evil has now appears to have devolved into lazy writing, character assassination, retcons and repetition. I don't want to be one of the people who blame ZAG or TA or the writers about the problems of the show. That's more anger and salt then I need in my life. I'm just saying that, if this is the direction they choose to take it, that this was always the end point? Then I'm getting off here.

The year is 2150. The 100th season of "Miraculous Ladybug" just concluded. All the characters are voiced by AI impersonations of the original voice actors. The 20th holder of the Butterfly was just defeated, and the Miraculous was teleported directly into a black hole. Then in the next scene some new child is its new holder without explanation. Cat Noir did not appear in any episodes this season, except for the once-a-season episode where he gives up his Miraculous but gets it back within one episode. Cat Noir has not helped defeat a single one of the Butterfly holders, but Ladybug continues to verbally state that he's indispensable. Everyone on the team knows her identity except him. Adrien has not been told anything about any of the villains (it's not clear if he even knew that the 18th holder existed). Adrien's arc this season has been trying to figure out what he wants his career to be. Chloé has not appeared since season 5, but every other episode has a scene where the characters talk about how much she sucks. The 20th Butterfly villain was about to be taken to prison, but then some girl she barely knows says that she's a good person deep down, so the heroes just let her go.

I've got a mailbox of anon hate to address, but I came across some information I just had to share from the leaks of the Miraculous Ladybug script drafts for the previous seasons' epsiodes. I was looking at Ephermal's script when a line of dialogue stopped me in my tracks. Yep, it's under a cut.

You know how the main Miraculous box is just one of many boxes? The episodes thus far have been rather mum on any details about the other boxes. While some of the leaked materials go into more detail about the distribution of the boxes and more importantly, how the Guardians get from one point to the other (no, Su-han did not hop all the way from the temple in the Tibet), there has been no information about the kwamis inside those boxes at all.

But, Ephemeral did have a mention of an outside kwami.

For those who can't read the text, this is what it says:

TIKKI I don't know. We could ask Kissu, the kwami of love… But he's not in our Miracle Box. Why don't you talk to Alya?

That's right. At one point there was a codified a kwami of love, with a name and a gender*. Kissu, the kwami of love. That means Liiri is not the only named kwami outside of the "mother" box who made it to a late draft. In fact, given that I've heard that the New York special was written after Season 4, this kwami's mention could even pre-date Liiri.

Again, I haven't gone over all or even most of the scripts and compared them to the episodes, so there may be other kwamis mentioned in the scripts that I missed...but this is a big piece of information that didn't make it to the aired version. This alone would have made the 100th episode more memorable and spawned countless discussion.

Better late than never.

*Note - it's possible the gender may not have been specified in the French draft, so take this with a grain of salt.

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Ephemeral"

Introduction

Hello everyone, I'm back again with a new character analysis post and this time it's the all-mighty 100th episode of Miraculous, "Ephemeral". Here, I look at the individual journeys of every relevant character in every individual episode of season 4 and this time it's the 22nd.

Ah, the 100th episode, a.k.a. the fake reveal episode of season 4. Really enjoyed this one. It was interesting to see how the reveal would have played out if Marinette was the one to figure out Adrien's identity first but just like "Cat Blanc" it resulted in the end of the world and hence the timeline had to be erased. These what-if episodes show us that no matter how the reveal plays out, Marinette and Adrien will always find a way to fall in love with each other. There's a lot of characterization to cover for this 100th episode, especially for Marinette and Adrien so let's get started.

Character POVs

Marinette/Ladybug

"It's not that simple, Tikki. I'm in love with Adrien, but I've never been in love with Cat Noir. It's like they're two completely different people. Is the Adrien I'm in love with the fake Adrien? Is Cat Noir the real Adrien? Who's the real Adrien behind Adrien?"

So since this episode focused on how Marinette would react if she found out Adrien's identity first we're going to start with her. First things first, Marinette does not hate Cat Noir. We've seen in "Truth" that she actually likes the his Cat Noir qualities like his courage, his self-confidence and most importantly (at least to the fandom) his puns. She's always loved Cat Noir but just as a really good friend.

At the beginning of the episode, when Cat Noir didn't show up to deal with Moolak she was forced to improvise and had to get out nine Miraculous in order to make up for Cat Noir's absence which really shows how important he is to her.

After defeating the villain, she was confronted by Su-Han, the guy who has been breathing down her neck since "Furious Fu" and was pressured by him to find out who Cat Noir is so that she may have better control over him but Marinette, knowing the consequences of knowing each others' identities, tries to convince him otherwise and made a compromise to have him know his identity which he agreed to. Knowing that she is the only person Cat Noir would ever reveal his identity to, she was forced to make a plan with Viperion to find out who Cat Noir is without him knowing.

When Cat Noir revealed his identity to her, she was in shock because Adrien and Cat Noir are practically two different people due to how different their personalities are. Part of the reason also that she didn't reveal her identity to him was because when he revealed his identity she thought "Oh no, this I why I fell in love with Cat Noir, it all makes sense now". Her reaction to Adrien being Cat Noir wasn't "Ew, Adrien is Cat Noir, I don't love him anymore", it was "How can I claim to love Adrien when I never knew him as well as I thought?" And it totally makes sense because Adrien and Cat Noir are completely different and Adrien hasn't found the balance between his Adrien self and his Cat Noir self yet. She felt like she didn't even know him anymore and that made her feel awkward around him. When she learned from Luka that when he found out that someone wasn't how he thought she was, after the initial shock, she got to know them better and learned to love them even more so Marinette took his advice started spending more time with him getting to know him and finally learning to love both sides of Adricat which wasn't that hard because she already loves his Cat Noir qualities as a friend.

When Sass had to reverse time to prevent the end of the world, and Ladybug saw the effect his powers had on doing so, she didn't know why Sass had to reverse time but she did know that something happened due to them revealing their identities that was so bad that he had to reverse time further reinforcing her belief that they must never know each other's identities.

2. Adrien/Cat Noir

"I understand. It's never easy to show your true self to someone and wonder what the other person will think of you, if they like you. It's hard for me too you know. My heart's beating so fast. I've been waiting for this moment for so long. Imagine the stories I had to come up with when you saved my life as Adrien or when you wanted to give me another Miraculous. It was awful having to hide Cat Noir from you, I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore. I hope you're not too disappointed, but whoever you are behind that mask, you'll always be the most amazing person in the world."

Now let's look at Adrien's side of things. When his father asked him to substitute him because he wasn't feeling well, Adrien tried to object but was unable to resist his father's will which made their already-shaky relationship shakier from "Mega Leech" and when he discovered that he was Shadow Moth, it completely shattered and he was forced to obey his father possibly due to him being a sentimonster.

Due to him having to cover for his father in an interview he wasn't able to get away in order to help Ladybug fight Moolak as Cat Noir and when he found that she had asked him to come to the Eiffel tower to talk he was afraid that Ladybug would be mad at him. But in reality, she just wanted to them to reveal their identities to each other so that Ladybug will know where to find him when another situation like Moolak happens which relieved him and once he revealed his identity he lamented on how hard it has been to keep his true self from her and now he doesn't have to hide it anymore.

When Ladybug finally decides to reveal herself and reveals herself to be Marinette, he immediately accepts her because the person he loves most in the world turned out to be one of his closest friends. Some people would say that this shows that Adrien only likes Marinette because of Ladybug but a beg to differ because he did say in this episode itself that whoever she was behind the mask he would always love her and he stuck to his word and we've seen in the past how he seems to be the only one to acknowledge that Marinette is always helping others just like Ladybug so it makes total sense to him that Marinette is Ladybug because their so similar unlike for Marinette, Adrien and Cat Noir are basically like to different people.

3. Luka

"Quite the opposite actually. Once I got over the shock, it helped me to get to know them better and like them even more."

Now we have Luka, the guy who found out both Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities back in "Wishmaker" and in this episode, we finally get to see how he felt about it. When Marinette asked him if he ever found that someone had a secret side to them that he couldn't possibly imagine and whether it completely changed his perspective of them. Luka revealed that while he was initially shocked, he later got to know them better and that allowed him to love that person even more. Classic Luka.

As for why he didn't reveal to Ladybug that he actually knew their identities, like I said is "Wishmaker", he didn't want to put more stress on Marinette than she already has and make her have to factor in him knowing her and Cat Noir's identities into her plans as well. He also listened to Ladybug and didn't reverse time or even pretend to reverse time because Luka as a character is submissive and doesn't usually take the lead. He's intuitive and wise just like his kwami but he isn't one to take initiative.

4. Plagg

"Cataclysm!"

I wasn't originally going to add him but after reading about him in the trivia section of this episode, I was intrigued and wanted to point this out. It's a small moment but it has a lot going for it.

When Plagg found out that Adrien's father was Shadow Moth he acted out of both anger and guilt. He was angry at Shadow Moth for the way he has treated Adrien, for the way he treated his kwami brethren Nooroo and Duusuu (and we know that he cares a lot about Nooroo from "Sandboy"), for the way he took advantage of the emotions of everyone in Paris and guilty because he felt responsible because he never realized that all this time, he along with Nooroo and Duusuu have been living in the same household and he never even bothered to notice it. Says a lot about his character.

Conclusion

Anime of the day: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Drinking Game

As you know, this anime was dropped to us back in 2015. If you also happened to notice, it contains quite a few mythology references. So, whether you watch it for the first time, or for the 100th, I propose a game you could play.

Be forewarned that I am in no way liable for any and all actions you may undertake. I will note that I did not specify what kind of drink. Should you feel really up to the challenge, you could, I suppose, brush your teeth and then partake in orange juice for the duration of this game.

So, should you play for one episode or, for heaven's sake, all three seasons, again I implore you to make excellent directions and refer to the previous paragraph’s reference of orange juice, here is the game:

Step 1. As the episode plays you will designate, this could be by buzzer, raise of hand, or simply yelling louder than your peers, that you have found a reference to mythology.

Step 2. You must now, as the reference finder, fully explain that reference. Should you get it right, everyone else drinks, but if you get wrong, you drink alone.

Step 3. That reference is now off limits, only if answered correctly. Naturally, someone may steal. However, be careful. When you bump into people like Apollo, you will find problems. You see, he is the god of a great many things.

Clarification: Say you BUZZ in on Apollo’s introduction, you, miraculously, know all, of the many, things he is god of, then you have secured a win. However, if someone is magically given donkey ears, then they must inform you of the tale of Apollo and Pan. What I’m implying is that a god is never truly off the table.

I suppose the winner is the last one standing, and that this game should only go on for a respectable amount of time. I don’t know why this thought came to me at, what is now, the near middle of the night; however, regale me of any partaking in these adventures.
