“Wrong,” [Luka] said, his grip tightening on her wrist. She glanced back at him, her own lips pursing, and he sighed as he made a conscious effort to chill the fuck out. “Marinette. This is not you tripping and falling. This is what happens when you don’t know how to throw a punch.”

“…I know how to throw a punch,” she huffed, looking away again. He went to correct her — because clearly she did not — when she glanced back at him with a small smile. “Enough to break [redacted]’s nose, at least.”

...the LBSCers know, because I've been so excited about this fic & have just been chucking stuff at them. I should stop sharing. This isn't until ch8-9. I think there's some crucial stuff I haven't posted on here that if you're not in the loop probably has you going "What the hell, Ver?"

Ah well. Anyway I'm working on ch8-9/15ish and have I mentioned how excited I am for this fic?

Beware a Witch Scorned (ML Ficlet/Prompt)

Based on @lenoreofraven’s Mayura Marinette fic.

There is now a part two here

Marinette didn’t know what she was doing wrong. No one in her class believed her. Her parents didn’t believe her. Paris didn’t believe her. She was hated for something she didn’t even do because the hero of Paris seemed to have it out for her.

But why?

Weren’t heroes supposed to help people? Weren’t they supposed to be good?

Then why did she want to ruin her life?

Why did Lila keep lying? She really didn’t need two liars who took every opportunity to ruin her happiness at every turn. The death threats and snide comments from Chat Noir didn’t help either.

As she stood outside the bakery in the rain with her belongings, she could do nothing but dream of a better life. Where people actually liked her. Where her parents believed her. Where they actually cared about her and listened.

It was a fantasy for every version of her. How did she know that?

That was beyond the point. Now, she didn’t have a home. She didn’t have money. She didn’t have anything. Because some stuck up, pretentious little-

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Focus.

She really didn’t need to get akumatized. People hated her already and she didn’t need to give them another reason to.

Marinette walked into an alley and placed her suitcase next to her. She didn’t bother trying to stop the rain from getting to her. Maybe she could just die quicker and stop being such a burden like this. She closed her eyes and let her thoughts take her away from her reality as tears raced down her cheek. She wanted to be free. She wanted to be loved. She wanted help-

She was brought back to consciousness by a thud. She opened her eyes quickly and was prepared to see someone in front of her, ready to hurt the ‘monster of Paris’ as they dubbed her and was confused. The rain stopped. She was dry. But looking out of the alley proved that the rain was still falling. How?

A noise behind her made her turn quickly with her arms raised, and the trash can lid which fell glowed a red hue and crashed into the wall.

She wanted answers.

But all she saw was a strange black book with a reddish-orange glow.

A fic inspired by primroses

Summary:

primroses - yellow flowers named so because they're one of the first flowers to bloom in spring. common meanings are youth and young love; often used to send the message "I can't live without you."

Gabriel brings Emilie primroses.

Primroses were always Emilie’s favourite.

She’d told him so on their second date, her eyes lighting up as she pointed to the yellow buds poking through the soil in the Parc Monceau, and he’d thought absentmindedly how he’d never seen anything so lovely as her face in that moment. He’d asked her why, and a wide smile spread across her face.

“Because,” she had replied, “they’re the first flowers of spring, and they’re the first sign of how beautiful Paris will become in a few weeks. They’re a reminder that the world is still on the right track.”

He never forgot her words that day. He had brought her a bouquet of primroses on their next date, and again on her birthday, and then the primroses were out of season and he had found himself yearning to see that particular look of delight on her face again.

And he did - as soon as the delicate yellow flowers were in season again, he had brought her another bouquet, and he’d known that the look of joy on her face was an expression he would spend the rest of his life determined to coax out of her.

When autumn came, he had brought her something other than a bouquet. She’d stared curiously at the little paper bag, and he’d explained.

“Primrose seeds. I thought we could plant them together.”

Her face was once again alight with happiness, and with neither of them having a garden, they planted the seeds in a window box, which sparked the question of who should take it? The answer to that seemed simple. They would move in together.

The primroses bloomed every year around the time of their anniversary. He would surprise her with one at work, when they went to dinner, whenever she didn’t seem to be smiling as much as she usually did, and every time, her face would blossom into a sunny beam brighter than the flowers’ yellow petals.

He had brought primroses to the celebratory dinner when he was promoted at work.

They planted more primrose bushes together when they moved into the huge mansion that her grandparents willed to her.

He had brought her primroses when he proposed.

They had primroses at their wedding.

Primroses at every anniversary of that perfect day.

And yes, a primrose waiting by her seat at the dining table on the day they began blooming, her perfect face breaking into that beautiful smile now that she had her annual proof that everything was still as it should be.

He’d continued to bring her primroses all throughout her sickness. A fresh blossom every day in the vase on her nightstand. One on the tray by her plate once she became too weak to leave her bed for meals. A few of the yellow blossoms carefully woven into her hair for him to capture in charcoal - she didn’t like photographs of herself any more; her skin had developed a permanent pallor now, and it made her feel self-conscious, but Gabriel could somehow always capture her beauty with his sketches, even when she struggled to believe it still existed.

Then, one day, he’d had to start laying the flowers around the life support machine, and Emilie could no longer open her eyes to admire them, but he was sure she knew he’d brought them to her. She knew she was loved, even if she couldn’t tell him she knew. But she would be able to again, one day, once everything had been set back to rights… he just had to keep hoping. Just as the primroses would bloom first every year, one day he would set the world back on the right track, and then Emilie’s face would once again light up with a smile when she saw that he still remembered her favourite flower after all this time.

He was sure of it.

It was like how the weather would break at the end of winter; he just had to wait it out, and then the primroses would bloom once more, and everything would be back to the way it used to be.

Just a few more months.

He ignored the sound of the approaching police sirens, and the clank of the heavy cemetery gate being pulled open. He hadn’t bothered with that. Opening it would have been wasting time he could have spent with her.

The primroses weren’t fresh any more; they were cut too long ago and kept out of water for too long, but they were primroses all the same. He pretended he couldn’t hear the soft footsteps of the person approaching him from behind as he laid the bedraggled bouquet on the white marble star, adjusting it so the petals wouldn’t obscure the inscription.

The footsteps behind him stopped, and he let out a pathetically humourless laugh.

“They were her favourite. I didn’t want her to spend the first day of spring without them.”

When he finally looked up at her, there was no rage in Ladybug’s face, only a gentle sort of pity. He got to his feet and allowed the police to snap the cuffs onto his wrists without complaint. Primroses wouldn’t bloom in that cemetery, the soil was far too dry for them; and the consequences that would follow his little excursion (solitary confinement and the label of ‘escape risk’) once he was returned to the maximum security section of la Maison d’arrêt de la Santé were nothing compared to the pain brought by the idea of Emilie spending the first day of spring without her beloved primroses.

Even if he never saw the light of day again, let alone the white marble star that marked the place where his wife was finally laid to rest after she had hovered between life and death for far too long, he could rest at ease in the knowledge that he had managed to bring her primroses one last time.

Which Holders are (in your opinion) "Major Characters" of Miraculous Team (i.e. these Holders that weren't given Miraculous "just because")?

I always saw Rena Rouge, Carapace, Viperion, Ryuko, Bunnix and now Vesperia as the major characters of the Miraculous Team, for different reasons, even if for now Nino and Alya are walking on thin ice because of their lack of faith and trust in Marinette and their disreguard of Adrien's opinion, and I still think it wasn't cool for Kagami to reveal Marinette's identity as Ladybug to Felix even if she felt that it was necessary for Felix to trust Marinette and Ladybug for help.

Rena Rouge and Carapace where the first temporary heroes to be chosen, and as much as theiy are left to be desired as reliable friends, I can't deny that they both proved themselves as heroes. Alya still managed to bring a considerable help to Marinette when she needed it during season 4, and Nino stood up to an akuma by himself only with Chat Noir's weapon to gain enough for Ladybug, and later in season 4 I think he did a great job with the Resistance if we are to exclude his plan during Illusion, I think those are notable feats to mention about Nino, but even though he was a great help as a civilian, his inability to keep a secret and the blind faith he had in Lila does not make him suitable to be a permanent miraculous hero. If Alya can learn from her mistakes with Lila I guess I can accept her as a major member of the miraculous team but she remain the same and repeat the same mistakes, I don't think she's worthy either.

Kagami and Luka really became major characters in Miraculous, and I think Ryuko and Viperion became a crucial part of the miraculous team, even more than ena Rouge and Carapace dare I say.

Luka provides a form of psychological support to Marinette and Adrien, and now knows the secret identities of the two concerned. And it is thanks to him that the events of Ephemeral could be rectified. And after having undergone training with su-Han, Luka must have gain an even more important place among the miraculous team, because if something were to happen to Laybug or should Marinette renounce her gardianship, Luka is the only one who I think could replace her.

About Kagami, as a sentihuman and one who is really involved in the lore because her mother is/was Gabriel's ally, and after Kagami became close to Felix as well as becoming aware or her sentibeing nature, I think she gained a more important role in the story, and this could make her one of the major miraculous wielder. At this point the trio Adrigaminette became very popular, and Kagami is also aware of Ladybug's identity, which in my opinion may have given her the same importance as Rena Rouge on the miraculous team.

Alix's role as a miraculous wielder was kinda predetermined from the moment hier future self as Bunnix was revealed. As the wielderof a miraculous allowing time travel, her importance in the team no longer needs to be proven. Even if I didn't really appreciate the dark look that Alix gave Marinette during the Ladybug episode when Lila falsely accused the girl of theft, but at least when Nathaniel believed that Marinette had played a trick on him to make fun of him, Alix knew that it wasn't Marinette's type and that Nathaniel had probably misinterpreted the situation, and during the rest of the episode she was of great help to the heroes. Then she accomplished her mission brilliantly during Evolution, and was absent when Lila was spouting bullshit about Marinette during Revelation and Confrontation, so for now I can't yet judge if she's a good friend to Marinette, and by extension if she's truly truly one of Ladybug's most reliable allies, but I like to think that for the moment this is the case.

Zoé could be a major member of the team, because she's the only one who defended Marinette when she needed it, and she bravely stood up to an akumatized Chloé during Queen Banana and thus proved her courage. But she's also Chloé's half sister, who is/was one of Miraculous antagonist, and she's now the wielder of the Bee miraculous, who was on the same spot as the Turtle, Fox, Butterfly and Peacock miraculous in the previous miraculous box for whom Master Fu was the gardian. She could be put in the background during season 6, or she could on the contrary gain a more important role within the miracle team, that's remain to be see.

As for others miraculous wielders that I could see becoming major members to the miraculous team if they prove themselves reliable enough, I would pick Max, Mylene and Rose. In the Robostus episode, if it wasn't for Max, Ladybug and Chat Noir would have lost their miraculous, and his help was his help and that of Markov were essential during starTrain. Mylene actively advocates for just causes that are close to her heart, and she did extremely well during her first use of the mouse miraculous. I would think the same thing about Ivan if we had seen him prove his worth rather than being chosen in Penalteam a bit by default by Ladybug in the same way as Traquemoiselle, Caprikid and coq Courage. And Rose was able to resist Guilttrip's power on her own, that's an impressive feat in my opinion, yet but I don't think she'll be that of a major member in the miraculous team though. As for Kim, He still has a lot to do to prove himself truly worthy, even if he's got potential, but I don't think he's that major for the miraculous team either, even if the monkey miraculous is pretty powerfull too.

But these characters have unfortunately proven that between Marinette's words and those of someone like Lila, it's not Marinette they will listen to, and for me Ladybug deserves better than allies who never listen to her alter ego civil

in season 5, Zoé, Alya, Kagami, Luka were the only other miraculous wielders to intervene and get the mostt attention from this arc contraru to the other wielders

For now I still don't think that Marinette's classmates are all worthy of being permanent wielders, and I'm saddened that Ldybug thinks that they are perfect for the job when she can't even fully rely on them as Marinette But then I can also theorize that Marinette entrusted her "friends" with miraculous permanently more likellly out of necessity so that no one can steal all the miraculous at the same time like Felix once did.

First time meeting Onryō, aka the owner of the ghost miraculous.

At first, Onryō was not in sight, only absorbing Ladybug and Chat Noir from afar.

Laybug took notice of her for a while at this point, while Chat brushed off the idea, attributing it to her paranoia.

As it turns out, she was right.

At first, Ladybug assumed Onryō was with Hawkmoth, looking for a weak point in the heroes or even their identities.

As it turns out, she's Fu's apprentice, learning about her amazon heritage. She was the one delivering the talizmans to the teens and is aware of their identities already.

As for the long term, she couldn't be the box's master after a war between humans and amazons, during which the humans stole and locked almost all the boxes (excluding the one belonging to Onryō's family), so Ladybug's presence is still significant.

(In this story, the amazons created the miraculous.)

After 8 years the “first act” of Miraculous Laybug is finally over. I remember the first time I read about this cartoon on Tumblr, I remember every time I’ve seen episodes in french, portuguese, thai and other languages I don’t understand, even without subs.

The series is full of flaws and plot holes, mistakes of any kind. But it’s also something special, I still don’t know why. Maybe I’m just fond of the characters, after all this time. 🐈‍⬛

Even the finale… it’s kinda weird. It’s a “happy ending” but it’s not that satisfying for many reasons (no Spoilers).

After all, Miraculous Ladybug is a very good show for kids, and I, as an adult, am not that ashamed to enjoy it.🐞
