The 1996 version of "Jane Eyre" is a pretty good and underrated adaptation of the novel. It has some flaws like lack of gothic setting, rushed climax and wooden performance of one or two lead actors but it has excellent soundtrack, nice visuals and many of its dialogues come straight from the book.

Good Will Hunting (1997)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Good Will Hunting has no cause for concern with flashing light effects.
All of the camera work in this film is either stationary or very smooth. There are brief moments, including the entirety of the opening credits, where the image looks a little like a kaleidoscope.
Flashing Lights: 0/10. Motion Sickness: 0/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: There is discussion of domestic abuse, including photos of aftermaths. There is a brief moment of intimidation of a romantic partner. Mild racial slurs are used.

In The Crow: City of Angels, the original plot goes like this:
When Ashe falls from the building, he sees Danny. That’s his chance to cross-over and be with his son, because his job is done. But Sarah is in trouble, and Ashe is a little bit in love with her. So he gives up his chance to go with Danny so he can save Sarah.
But Sarah dies, and Ashe is left alone unable to age or die for eternity.
Miramax decided that the movie should follow the same plot as the first film so it was edited beyond recognition.
The original version will probably never be released because of Weinstein/miramax.
This post is brought to you by my hyperfixation from 1997 when I would have sold my 13 year old soul to be Sarah.

if disney were to remake thumbelina, how would they go about it? or atleast how would you go about it, if you were in charge? i'd imagine a newer retelling of thumblina, for the titular character, would draw more inspiration for her characterization from a dragonfly. small but full of engery and daring.
Actually interestingly enough Disney already did a Thumbelina movie in 2002 under their Buena Vista/Miramax label! It takes a modern spin on the story and features Jennifer Love Hewitt as Thumbelina and Elijah Wood as Tom Thumb!
Tumblr media
Is it a perfect movie? No, it’s got some clunky flow and odd animation but honestly it’s also got a lot of charm and a surprisingly terrifying/fun villain in the Mole King
Tumblr media
And Tom and Thumbelina are pretty darn cute together. Tom has a bit of Love at First sight with Thumbelina but I mean she is the first girl his size he’s ever seen so I’ll give him some leeway xD and their chemistry is actually pretty good imo. (Though I will admit that I’m also going through a layer of childhood nostalgia here)
Tumblr media
But yeah I’ve actually decided to use this as my DisneyVerse version of Thumbelina! I’ve got it set in Our World in the 50s as that seems to be the time period based on the clothing/technology. Sadly it’s not on DisneyPlus but you can get it on YouTube!

Miramax Lands ‘Halloween’ TV Rights, Plots Cinematic Universe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deadline reports, “Miramax Television has signed a wide-ranging deal with Trancas to develop and co-produce a Halloween TV series.
The new Halloween series is envisioned to potentially launch a cinematic universe spanning film and television. Miramax’s Head of Global TV Marc Helwig will be overseeing the franchise creatively in close collaboration with Akkad.”
“Jointly controlling both the film and TV rights would allow Miramax and Trancas to map out an integrated film-TV universe,
