Got this chat in the OG today.

I am having visions of angels having a food fight that turns into a fist fight. Why does Simeon have to go back to stop this? Michael is still there, after all. But really, we all know Michael would be leading the charge on the side of sweet. Now I’m imagining Simeon showing up & Michael is just covered in pastry pieces. Simeon proceeds to lecture him & the rest about understanding differences or some such thing.

I just love how serious Simeon’s last line is here. “I must put a stop to it.” Like okay it’s not the apocalypse or anything lol.

For this piece, I cut out and collaged typography taken from pictures of anti-trans protest signs. Each letter was cut out manually, and then arranged and scanned in page by page to form a poem I wrote about transness & hope for the future.

Ngl after how Austin was treated for his Elvis voice I thought he would stop talking about him but he still talks so fondly about him. I don't think he's obssesed with Elvis anymore but he's still respectful and it's actually so refreshing to see this. I'm not saying that he was wrong before but you can clearly see he has moved on taking only the good memories. He's a good person because if that had happened to me i'd try to erase that part of my life and maybe even resent Elvis

as an elvis fan myself i adore how he talks about him- during press/awards season and now. and i think he reveres lisa so much that it’d never change even if his feelings ever did- but i don’t think that’s the case here and i think it’s 100% authentic. he spent a lot of time ‘with him’ and in a pretty transformative point in his life having just ended a relationship he spent nearly a decade in- which will make someone do a ton of soul searching even if they aren’t playing elvis in a movie! i also *love* what he’s said about what he learned about fame and managing stardom from elvis. some of my favorite interview bits of his are on that topic.

it’ll make me cry if i think on it for too long lol. maybe it’s woowoo but i genuinely believe that elvis ‘watches out for him’ and i do think austin might share that sentiment re: things he’s said about him before about seeing him as a friend/feeling connected to him when he’s nervous etc. and i, fwiw, don’t think him saying stuff like that was just fluff for awards season. <3 our bubba is authentic as they come imo and i love him for it. i think he’s done a good job at moving on is the ways that he can while still not throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I was tagged for wip wednesday (thank you @tsunael ♥) but I regrettably don't have anything XIV-related to share. January has been thoroughly beating my ass, so a lot of creative stuff has taken a backseat. [I really only have a wip for an original story. it does have a few very strong influences from XIV but uh. it's. it's more like fanfic of me and my friends' ttrpg OCs and uh. hmm.]

I have to hope my body will heal and I will feel better but it’s so hard #change has to come at some point and I have to hope I can make it to that point #I’m having a terrible time coping with the pain and fatigue and mental strain covid has left me with #I want to feel okay again so badly #all I want in the world is to make art and experience art and music and movies and live a little life with my partner in some place nice #I’m scared I’ll never feel okay enough to have that and I’m scared the world won’t ever feel safe enough again to have that #I just keep telling myself something has to change and trying to believe it so hard #if I make it through this pandemic with any semblance of health and stability I will be happy #I don’t even want to think about how much trauma the pandemic has given me and will continue to give me #I grieve everyday for the world that could’ve been and the person I will never get the chance to be because of this pandemic #my health anxiety has skyrocketed in the past four years and just keeps getting worse #I can’t hear people coughing or sneezing or sniffling without panicking for a few seconds every time #I already had emetophobia before 2020 but now I have the same panicked feeling from anyone exhibiting any signs of illness #it’s exhausting T-T everything is exhausting #sorry for vent-ish post on main ik it’s not very professional but whatever this is my blog #covid tw

i can talk a lot of shit about david duchovny but i do honestly believe he reads the books he says he likes. he’s the only man i’ve seen read “fun” books (books that stray from what academia would recommend you read for assignments. it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not intelligent or challenging texts, or that the books academia recommends can’t be a good time).
