All I'm doing is just being excited about something. I share that in the hope that you'll be excited for me. "Hey mum I get to spend two hours a week researching Vikings it's gonna be awesome!" "How about you research Chinese History, I mean it's so interesting, like the huns and stuff.... like I didn't enjoy it when I was a kid but now I do and I'm sure you will!"

Like, I try to talk about fun things and things I genuinely care about, but it all seems to come back to this whole subject thing and ugh. All I want is to go into design, into art, into a field where creativity is not held back. I don't want an office job all day. I don't believe the advice that you'll never love your job so pick something that pays well. I will enjoy my career but the only way that will happen is if it's in a field that I actually love. And for me that's not math, or science, or anything logical or empirical because that is not me. That is not what makes me happy. And it angers me that you can't see my side of the story.

So no, you do not get to live vicariously through me. Fuck you.
