I was listening to course lectures and my hands needed to do something and that something was City of Heroes fanart.
When I was trying to decide how much detail to give the Circle of Thorns, God spoke to me and said 'Draw a spooky pickle.'
context key:
1st: When Statesman died in the game, he (and Sister Psyche) were immediately ejected from the lore due to out of game issues with the creator of Statesman. It was very abrupt, especially because the storyline where Statesman died was behind a paywall.
2nd An ongoing fight in the city of heroes community is how longbow is literally worse than all the actual villains because of a single unit called the 'longbow flamethrower' who uses a flamethrower. The horrified, just discovered about them from a pamphlet, circle of thorns are not deterred from doing what they do all the time which is stealing bodies to put ghosts of their dead city inside of. But wow, those longbow! Nasty!
2nd: Chrono-Bot (blue girl) is (my precious baboo, my main and not a canon character) a sentient time machine from thousands of years in the future. She has no filter.

Suspicious Toxic Waste
Danny wouldn't say that the ghosts were cheating to visit the human world because technically they weren't, they were just hiding in plain sight, using the portals near or within the sea.
None of them needed to breathe and hardly anyone questioned the glowing things that appeared in the sea anyway. Of course, he didn't think he'd find a whole underwater city down there, with a government and a king, but thanks to invisibility he was sure they hadn't noticed them.
Well, he was almost sure, because a bat-shaped yacht was cruising the docks and the Atlanteans were strangely on guard. Danny wondered what was wrong with them.
Of course, Bruce and Arthur were investigating the sudden increase of toxins in the sea. Many locals (Atlanteans and Gothamites) had claimed to see something constantly glowing green floating near the shore, too far away to confirm what it was, and both feared it was Kryptonite.
#dpxdc#Ghosts missed the human world#Danny missed it too#so he decided to sneak away#technically the manufactured portals no longer existed#but there were many natural and stable portals in the sea#he took advantage of that#and some ghosts followed him#They stayed mainly on the coasts and beaches#although Danny took the liberty of exploring cities#he didn't think it was a bad thing#dp x dc#dc x dp#Arthur and Bruce are worried#Reports of a toxic green glow in the sea are increasing#and they can't find the source#They worry it's Kryptonite#they are going to get a surprise if they catch the culprit
