Things are actually going according to plan.
You’re still waiting for something to fly off the rails, but overwhelmingly, everything has fallen into place; Alma took Olive and the other children into town, leaving you with Emma and Enoch to help.
Every month or so, you’ve started doing a ‘not-birthday’ for one of the children. Alma stopped celebrating their birthdays long ago to keep from reminding them of how time never passes. It’s a sweet thought. You felt that the children never got to be individually special, though, as a result and so; not-birthdays.
“Miss Y/N, does this look okay?”
You look up to see the pink paper-letters spelling out ‘Olive’ hanging on the wall next to the staircase. It’s perfectly straight, just the way you wanted it.
“It looks perfect. What else do we have?”
“You wanted to make a cake,” Emma says, “but you might not have time. Do we always have to do it in secret?”
“Yes.” You nod, leaving no room for argument.
Enoch clears his throat, “If you’re not going to offer me a task, can I at least go to my room?”
“Enoch, you know Olive better than anyone. I need your eyes.”
“Olive adores you. She’ll adore anything you put on.” He shakes his head.
You take one of his hands and squeeze, “Please, Enoch. I want this to be perfect.”
He sighs.
“Alright.” He grumbles.
You grin and squeeze his hands again. Back to the details, you focus on your list, trying to cross-reference what needs finished with how much time you have left. Alma is nothing if not efficient, but she knows the plans, and should take a little extra time.
The idea of not-birthdays aren’t too far from an actual birthday celebration; which makes Alma twitch. She fears knowing how old they should be will make them itch for freedom from the loop she can’t provide. And while you can agree with that, the point of a not-birthday is that it’s completely random, and you don’t mention age.
Plus, there were many years Alma didn’t celebrate before you came along. So the children have long lost their sense of time and their own age.
The older three are always the trickiest to plan for. It is easy enough to get the girls out of the house, but getting Enoch away long enough to plan raised his suspicions. Every year you find yourself jumping through new hoops to surprise him.
Olive, though, is the simplest. She’s so sweet, she never expects anything for herself; the thought gives you chest pains. Every time she’s just as surprised as before. And though you know she’ll love it no matter what, you strive to make it bigger and better each time.
“Emma,” You call, making your way into the kitchen after a while, “How is the cake coming along?”
Emma is leaning against the counter with a book in her hands. She’s flipping through it lazily, pointing at the oven without looking up. You resist the urge to shake your head.
Cracking it and peering in, it seems the cake is coming along nicely. Emma made quick work of it. Though you do hope it’ll be done before everyone returns, you know it’s unlikely.
“Miss Y/N.” Enoch calls.
Busying yourself with preparing the cake decorations, “Yes?”
“They’re back early.”
You freeze. Next to you, Emma does too.
The two of you look at one another and then stare at the oven. There’s no way. Even if you had a way to manipulate time, there’s no possibility of finishing it before they come inside. You’re left to rely on your peculiarity.
“Are you okay with keeping an eye on it?” You ask.
Emma nods, “Of course. Try and distract them, please.”
You nod back. With a flutter of your fingertips, Emma is hidden from view, as well as any indication that the oven is on. You race around the house doing the same with all of the decorations.
By the time you’ve hidden all of the decorations, the front door opens.
“Miss Y/N, we’re home!” Hugh calls out.
Coming around the corner, attempting to smooth down your hair, you smile. The children seem none the wiser. Alma’s brow ticks up ever so slightly, a sly little smirk coming to her lips.
“How was town, my darlings?” You ask.
Your arms are suddenly full of Claire and Bronwyn. The latter nearly sends you flying backwards. If not for her strong arms holding you in place, you’re certain you’d be in another room. Her sheepish smile tells you she’s aware of that fact too.
Claire wraps herself around you like she’s trying to become one with you. She’s careful to keep your arms away from her back-mouth.
“The humans were more subdued today,” Olive says, coming to give you a little side-hug, “It was weird. They were almost… nice.”
“Odd.” You agree.
Alma cuts in, “It was likely the early hour. We scarcely visit so early. Shoes off, children.”
They’re all quick to obey. Both sets of arms unwrap from around your waist as the children line their shoes up near the doorway. Even Millard, who is actually clothed this morning, thank the heavens.
Alma is at your side. She offers a kiss on your cheek in greeting when she’s sure none of the children are watching. You smile, though you can see that curious smirk still on her face.
She speaks quietly, “The house is normal.”
“How odd.” You say, giving her a pointed look.
“Emma is also curiously absent.”
“Is she?”
“Darling,” Alma grins, “You went overboard, didn’t you?”
“No, you just came back too early.”
Alma shrugs. Her little smirk makes you furious and ravenous in equal measure. She seems to know it, if the twinkle in her eyes means anything.
The children disperse back to their normal routines while you attempt to subtly continue the not-birthday details. It’s an infuriating game of pretend. Everytime one of the children walks into the room, you have to seem busy with something normal.
A few of the younger children accept your behavior and go on about their business. The older ones stop and eye you, but ultimately walk off too. You breathe out a sigh each time.
Three taps on your shoulder startles you from what you’re doing.
Emma’s voice is in a whisper, “Everything is ready.”
Making sure nobody is around, you snap, and Emma is fully visible again. She smiles.
Behind you, a throat clears, and you turn to see Alma leaning against the doorway. The two of you offer smiles. Shaking her head, she turns to head back downstairs, throwing behind her, “I’ll collect the children.”
And she does.
The decorations are visible and when you hear the little gasp from the hallway, you know you were successful in surprising them. Olive comes into the kitchen with a look of wonder, eyes widening.
In the center of the table is a pretty pink cake. It perfectly matches her dress, which is coincidentally her favorite color.
“Happy not-birthday, Olive.” You smile.
“You did all of this for me?” She whispers, staring at you with glossy eyes.
When you nod, she hugs you tight around the middle. You laugh and hug her back. You could do the smallest thing for Olive and you know she’d love it. It makes you feel so warm inside to do something sweet for her, especially when she expects so little.
She deserves more appreciation and love, they all do. You’ve made it your mission to make sure they get all they deserve.
You fade into the background as the children bicker and fight over slices of cake. Emma, as always, steps in to mediate; taking the knife and doing her best to cut even slices for all of them.
Alma discreetly takes your hand in her own.
“You did well.”
“Thank you,” You smile, looking into her eyes with your heart brimming with love, “You’re next.”
“Don’t you dare.” Alma shakes her head.
“Too late, the plans are already in motion,” You sing-song, kissing her when the children aren’t looking, “You’re just along for the ride, Miss Peregrine.”
She does her best not to smile at your apparent joy. Her unblinking gaze follows your every move, love in them. Her voice drips with sarcasm, “Fantastic.”

EVERYTHING FOR MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN
Alma LeFay Peregrine
Enoch O'Connor
(Any of the other characters don't have any requests written nor pending as for now, so I'm unable to have serieses for them as AO3 requires you to have at least one oneshot written to be able to add it to a series, and I can't promise serieses for characters who don't have requests pending/I have no ideas of my own for them)
For anyone who's concerned, THESE ARE NOT ONESHOT COLLECTIONS, they are made using AO3's "series" feature.
If you want to be informed about new fics for Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children or its individual characters, create an AO3 account and subscribe or bookmark any of those serieses listed above. There are buttons at the top right corner for those, or on top on mobile. I do not do Tumblr taglists anymore.

I Will Always Be With You
Peculiar Reader/Miss Peregrine (platonic)
Very angsty Miss P/reader prompt. Miss Peregrine sacrifices herself for her children.
Warnings: heavy angst, violence, major character death
Also, I have a mixture of the book/movie versions. Everyone is their book version apart from Miss Peregrine. Eva Green will always be my Miss P <3
Tumblr media
It was a day like any other, or so I thought. The other children and myself were enjoying the day, spending much of it outside. I was stepping on the rope that kept little Olive from floating away while sketching her and the ocean scene behind her. She was laughing and holding her arms out as the wind blew her hair wildly, her eyes closed to keep herself from being blinded by the sun. I smiled as I worked on capturing her cheerful expression on paper. Emma and Bronwyn had joined Millard, Hugh, and the twins in a rowdy game of football, Olive in charge of fetching the ball from a nearby tree or hedge when one of the older children, usually Hugh, kicked it just a bit too hard.
“Come on, Hugh, just because you’re losing doesn’t mean you have to be a poor sport!” Millard exclaimed after Hugh had managed to kick the football up into a hedge for the fourth time.
“Me? A poor sport? Poppycock!” Hugh retorted, shrugging coyly. Olive giggled and tugged on the rope, motioning for me to loosen it so she could float over to where the ball was stuck at the top of a dinosaur-shaped hedge. She stretched her little arms towards it and picked it up. She turned around and gingerly dropped the ball down in front of Millard. He scoffed at Hugh before picking it up and running back over to the makeshift football field.
“Y/N I think I want to get down now. It’s almost supper time!” Olive yelled down to me. I lost track of time and hadn’t realized just how late it was.
“Okay, just a minute!” I called back up to her. I had strayed a ways away from where Olive’s lead shoes were laying in the grass. I picked up the rope and dragged Olive with me over to our original spot. I began to shorten the rope, pulling her close enough to fasten a shoe onto one of her feet. She then sank just enough to where I could hand her the other one.
“Thanks, Y/N!” she chirped just before putting on her other shoe and skipping off towards the house. I began putting my drawing stuff away into my bag. Before I could sling it over my shoulder, I heard Miss Peregrine calling us in for supper.
“Come now, children, it’s already 5:32!” I heard her shout. Two minutes late may not have been much, but to an ymbryne that was as bad as an hour of tardiness. I jogged towards the door. Miss Peregrine gave me a disapproving look.
“Sorry, Miss P! To be fair, I haven’t been late in thirty four years!” I pointed out. She let a slight smile tug at the corners of her mouth and then shook her head at me. I squeezed past her and found my place at the dinner table. Miss Peregrine was unusually quiet during our meal. Normally she liked to start a polite conversation about everyone’s day, but instead kept her head down and picked at the food in front of her. I caught her gaze a time or two, but couldn’t quite read the emotion on her face.
After dinner was over, I helped clear the table while the rest of the children got ready for movie time. Miss Peregrine and I stacked the plates without speaking, the sound of hard porcelain clanking together the only thing there to break our silence. I carried my pile to the kitchen sink, where my ymbryne stood waiting to wash them. I placed them on the counter and stood next to her awkwardly for a moment, eventually working up the courage to ask her the question that had been bothering me all evening.
“Miss Peregrine, is something wrong?” I watched her face carefully for any change in expression. She remained stoic.
“No, dear, everything is fine,” she answered, not even moving her focus from the dishes in front of her.
“Miss P, I know when you’re lying. Lying is highly uncivilized.” I mimicked the quote she always used on us when we were caught being untruthful. She smiled and paused for a minute, finally tearing her gaze from the task at hand.
“Well, miss Y/N, you are correct about that,” she admitted, holding back a light giggle. You nodded and gave her a knowing look, hands on your hips. She dropped the smile on her face and sighed heavily.
“I just…have a bad feeling about today. That’s all.” She shook her head and shrugged her shoulders, indicating it was a senseless reason to be stressed. But I knew better. Miss Peregrine’s intuition was hardly ever wrong. I stared at the floor for a moment, my mind running a mile a minute trying to come up with a reason for her bad feeling.
“Really, it means nothing. I haven’t a good reason to feel this way, so I don’t want any of you to worry about it. Do you understand?” She shot me a stern look. I knitted my eyebrows together in disagreement.
“But, Miss P, you’re never wrong about anything,” I countered. I knew I could get away with more than the others when it came to Miss Peregrine. I could tell she had a soft spot for me, though, she would never admit it. She claimed to “care for each and every one of us equally.” I watched her try to keep her expression rigid, but eventually she couldn’t help the grin that took over her face yet again.
“While I appreciate the faith you have in me, even us ymbrynes are wrong from time to time.” She placed a slightly damp hand on my shoulder squeezing lightly, her piercing blue eyes regaining the spark that seemed to be missing just a few moments earlier. I decided to drop the subject and nodded my head at her. I helped finish the dishes without another word.
-----------------
It was just before reset. We were all getting ready for bed before walking outside to watch. I perched myself on the edge of a chair in front of the large mirror placed in the far corner of my room, brushing my long, brown hair and struggling to put it in a loose braid. Usually, I would ask Miss Peregrine to braid my hair for me, but I didn’t want to bother her since she’d had such a stressful day. At this point, my hair was beginning to resemble a nest more so than actual hair. I was on my third attempt when I began to hear rattling throughout the house. The chair I was sitting on shook, and my reflection in the mirror wobbled. The pictures on my wall swayed dramatically from side to side. I gasped and jerked my head to look behind me as one of them fell, the glass from the frame shattering into a million pieces. I stood up abruptly and threw open the door to the hallway. Miss Peregrine was frantically gathering everyone and sending them down the stairs.
“What’s happening? Is it the bombs?” I shouted over the loud boom coming from outside. But even I knew there was another half hour or so before they were due at reset. Miss Peregrine stopped and looked at me. She shook her head, eyes wide with fear.
“No, it’s the wights and their hollows,” she said almost too quietly for me to hear. My heart sank. The very thing we tried to hide from for over sixty years had finally come to take us. I stood frozen, chest heaving as my breath quickened. My head swam and I could only hear muffled shouts coming from Miss Peregrine, who was trying to get me to move. A particularly violent explosion from outside shook the house and knocked me to the ground. After several seconds, I shook my head and saw a hand extended in front of me. I grabbed onto it and the the ymbryne pulled me to my feet then took my face in her hands.
“Are you alright?” She asked, checking me over for wounds. I nodded my head and she sighed in relief, but only for a brief second before continuing to shoo us downstairs. I followed her and the others down to the parlor, where she shut the door and locked it. She told us to draw the curtains shut, so we did. She then looked at all of us, no doubt making sure we were all present.
“Alright everyone. I need you all to stay calm,” she announced, pulling herself together remarkably fast. We watched her walk over to the bookcase on the right hand wall.
“Bronwyn, can you help me move this please?” she asked as calmly as she could, the crashing sounds from outside the house still in full force. Bronwyn nodded her head, determined. With a grunt she moved the enormous bookcase over just enough to reveal a dark passageway. My eyes bulged in surprise. I never knew that was there in the many decades I had lived in that house, although I suspected that was on purpose to keep it a secret.
“Okay, I need everyone to make a single file line and follow Emma into this tunnel.” Miss Peregrine pointed to the dark passageway. Emma held a ball of fire in her hands and walked into the tunnel first, Olive and Claire following just behind her. I started to follow behind Horace, but Miss Peregrine grabbed my hand to stop me. She pulled me aside while the others pushed their way through.
“Y/N I need you to do something for me,” she pleaded, digging around in the pocket of her dark blue blazer. I nodded my head anxiously. She pulled out a silver pocket watch with ‘Alma Lefay Peregrine’ etched on the cover. It was the timepiece that allowed her to reset loops. She held it towards me. Miss Peregrine never separated herself from her timepiece. I shook my head and backed up a step.
“Why are you giving me this? Aren’t you coming with us?” I choked, tears pricked my eyes. Deep down I already knew the answer. She looked at me with glassy eyes, tears beginning to stain her cheeks.
“No, my love. The wights will never stop looking for me. None of you stand a chance if I come with you. I need you to protect this for the sake of everyone. If they get a hold of it and me, there’s no telling what kind of evil could be accomplished. I have to remove myself from it. My one duty as an ymbryne is to protect you all.” She let out a quiet whimper, failing to hold back her sobs any longer. I gingerly took the timepiece and put it in my robe pocket. I looked up at her, my tears flowing freely now. I jumped as a loud crash sounded from the front door. The wights broke through it. I trembled in fear. Everyone but Bronwyn had made their way down the tunnel. She stayed behind to wait for us so that she could move the bookcase back to its original position. Her somber expression and glassy eyes told me that she heard every word. I turned back to Miss Peregrine, shaking my head in denial.
“But, Miss Peregrine, we need you!” I exclaimed, still in disbelief. She pulled me into a tight hug as I sobbed.
“No, dear, I needed all of you. It has been my privilege to care for you. All of you,” she cried. I held onto her even tighter, not wanting to let her go. She was like a mother to all of us and it was heartbreaking to have to say goodbye to her, possibly for forever. She stroked the hair on the back of my head and cooed words of comfort into my ear.
“I love you, mum,” I whispered between sobs. She stroked my hair and I felt her shoulders tremble.
“I love you too, darling.” She pulled away from me. She held my face in her hands and wiped away the tears streaming down my face with her thumbs. She held her forehead to mine for a few seconds before pulling back and placing a soft kiss where our heads had just met. She sniffled, took a deep breath, then grasped both of my hands in hers.
"No matter where you are, I will always be with you." She gave me a weak smile and squeezed my hands one last time before turning to Bronwyn.
They exchanged goodbyes and a brief hug just as we heard banging on the parlor door. She hurried us into the tunnel and motioned for Bronwyn to pull the bookcase back to its original place. I looked into her eyes and only saw regret. She put a hand over her mouth and gave me one last glance before Bronwyn sealed the tunnel. I heard a loud bang, then shouts from the other side of it. The wights got what they came for. I tried pushing the bookcase back so I could save her, but it was too heavy for me. Bronwyn pulled me away and kept me quiet. She forced me down the tunnel and we eventually made it out the other side where the others stood waiting. The tunnel came out to the very front of the house, just beyond the pond that lay between us and the front door. The rain came down on us hard, soaking our hair and clothes within a few seconds. All the other wards looked at me and Bronwyn. Our red eyes and sniffling noses were enough to tell them that Miss Peregrine wasn’t coming. Emma covered her mouth in shock, some of the younger children started to cry loudly. I had to look away to avoid losing my composure once more. My eyes widened as I heard the bomber planes near us overhead. I touched the timepiece in my pocket and the realization hit me like a freight train. There would be no reset, and Miss Peregrine was still inside. I shouted and tried to run towards it, but Bronwyn and Emma held me back. We watched in horror as the bomb dropped and landed on the house, destroying it in one massive explosion. I stared in shock, shingles and pieces of wood flying in every direction. I stood there motionless, the fight completely leaving my body. No screams, no tears, nothing came out. I was completely numb as I watched the house, our home, go up in flames.
--------------
With heavy hearts, and some of us still in tears, we headed down to the beach to get out the rowboats and escape. To where, we had no idea. Bronwyn, being the strongest both physically and mentally, made sure we all stayed together. She uncovered the rowboats and assigned groups of us to each one. We worked together to push them towards the water, when we stopped and listened. From a ways away, we could just make out a boat upon the horizon. I could hear laughter, and muffled voices. Male voices. Horace conveniently pulled a pair of binoculars out of his satchel. It almost made me feel bad for making fun of him for carrying those things around all the time. His breath caught in his throat as he made out the image before him.
“What is it Horace?” Emma asked, voice still weak from crying. He paused as he lowered his binoculars.
“It’s…the wights. They have something with them,” he stuttered out.
“And? What was it?” I snapped. He looked at me as if he’d seen a ghost.
“It was a peregrine falcon.”

Your eyes fluttered open, your body still in a fuzzy, sleep state, all warm and cozy in the spread of you and your lovers bed. Your breath hitched slightly as you felt her skilled hands roaming down the front of your body. From your breasts, to your navel, down to your heated core.
“Alma…” you sleepily mewled.
“That’s it, just me, Darling…” she husked und your ear, her bare body on your back.
She then suddenly pinched your nipple, causing you to roll your hips forward and yelp put in pleasurable pain.
“More please more…” you hazily whimpered.
Her soft lips began peppering kisses along your neck and down to your shoulders.
“Wanna spread out those pretty holes of yours…” She husked in your ear.
You shivered in delight.
“Yes…” you breathlessly mewled, “Alma please… fingerfuck me…”
She chuckled. She could never deny you when her name rolled off your lips. Her fingers slipped into your aching cunt with ease. She then began pumping and curling her skilled fingers. Her lips were all over any available skin, as she continued to fuck you. It was driving you fucking feral…
“Dear me, your already close, aren’t you…?” She purred.
You bit your lip and nodded vigorously.
“Come for me, Dear…”
You buried your face into her as your walls clenched around her fingers and leud moans escaped your lips.
“Well Good Morning to you, my love…” Alma chuckled, pulling her fingers out of you and licking them clean.
“M’mmm Morning…” you mumbled, still receiving a face full of her tits as you nuzzled even further into the woman’s form.

Enoch sighed relieved seeing you sit alone by the tree. To be absolutely sure he looked around. Up and down hoping he wouldn’t encounter him. Behind him were Hugh and Fiona playing tag. Claire trying her best to join. Just a bit to his left he saw Olive helping Emma put the squirrel back up in the tree. Yet no annoying thing to be seen. Enoch plastered on a charming smile ready to make his way over to you. He took about three steps till he heard the annoying voice. – “Looking for me?” – Enoch turned his head upwards seeing the cat slide down a branch coming in view.
Enoch’s smile dropped, sighing deep. – “In your dreams furball.” – Enoch mocked back. The cat hissed loud dropping down in front of him. He came to sit down licking his paws. Enoch rolled his eyes at it, moving to go around it. The cat jumped aside blocking his path. It made Enoch groan annoyed, stepping more to the right.
The cat once again blocked his path to you. – “Let me through you furball!” – Enoch called out bothered. The cat licked his paw, then washed it behind his ear. – “If you say please.” – The cat answered plainly. It made Enoch boil, clenching his hand. – “Like hell!” – Enoch called out. The cat shuddered out a chuckle. – “See you getting all worked up over me.” – he responded.
“Y/n!” – Enoch called out having enough of his interruption. You jerked your head in his direction. – “Y/n!” – Enoch repeated waving his arms at you. The cat hissed loud jumping at him. Enoch stumbled backwards onto his back. The cat sitting on his chest. – “Get off!” – Enoch groaned out, wriggling to get the cat off him. The cat hissed again at him, pressing his paw firm onto his chest. – “Mister Fluffzpants.” – you said.
Instantly the cat turned to you, squinting its eyes to give you the sweetest expression. You bend down to pick your cat up. – “Are you playing with Enoch?” – you asked as you moved it close to your chest. Mr. Fluffzpants purred, snuggling his head against you. Enoch moved his upper body up. – “That thing is ferocious.” – he called out with a point. – “Mr. Fluffzpants?” – you answered confused looking down at your sweetest cat.
You pulled him up, pressing his cheek against yours. – “Look at him. He’s the cutest thing ever.” – you said as the cat purred against your cheek. The moment it stared down at Enoch disappeared all signs of cuteness. – “See!” – Enoch said desperately. You walked up to Enoch, offering him your hand. He took it letting you pull him up. You started brushing some dirt off him.
“There all better.” – you said. – “Y/n I…” – Enoch started taking your hand. – “Yes…” – you replied. – “Au!” – Enoch blurted out pulling his hand away from you. Your eyes widened seeing the scratch marks on his hand. – “Mr. Fluffzpants!” – you called out looking sternly at the cat. – “That wasn’t very nice.”
You dropped the cat onto the ground. – “Hey!” – it called out feeling tossed away. – “Oh Enoch does it hurt?” – you asked taking his wounded hand gently into yours. Enoch tried to hide his smile of victory. You carefully touched it as Enoch flinched at the touch. – “He’s exaggerating.” – Mr. Fluffzpants called out. Enoch shook his head trying so hard not to show he actually was. – “Hush Mr. Fluffzpants.” – you said with a dismissive glare.
Enoch stuck his tongue out to the cat behind your back. The cat hissed as you hardened your glare. Mr. Fluffzpants laid down begging for forgiveness. – “Let me tend to you Enoch.” – you spoke taking him with you back to the house. Mr. Fluffzpants got up, narrowing his eyes on Enoch. – “You better sleep with one eye open boy.” – he purred out. He then ran after you as he barely left your side.
You led Enoch inside the pink manor darting out of the way of a running Bronwyn and Horace rushing down the stairs. You crossed over heading into the kitchen. You sat Enoch down by his shoulders on a chair. – “Does it hurt much?” – you asked looking in some cabinets for bandages. Enoch was about to speak when Mr. Fluffzpants hopped onto the counter. He glared at Enoch, tilting his head to the side. Enoch gulped nervously.
“Uhm...not so much anymore.” – he answered. You found some bandages noticing Mr. Fluffzpants. – “You behave.” – you said. – “As always.” – he answered lowering his head in a bow. You cleaned his wound and put a bandage on it. – “Perhaps a kiss?” – Enoch said boldly offering you his hand. – “Perhaps not.” – Mr. Fluffzpants called out. You smiled touching Enoch’s nose. – “You are teasing me.” – you spoke as Enoch smiled nervously at his missed opportunity.
You rubbed Mr. Fluffzpants on his head before heading out. – “I’d watch your back O’Connor.” – The cat said showing him his claws. Enoch puffed loud. – “You better watch yours furball!” – he responded getting up. – “When you are dead I’ll toy with your body for funs.” – Enoch called out before darting out of the kitchen.
The cat gasped loud. – “You foul monster!” – Mr. Fluffzpants shouted dipping down the counter onto the ground. – “I shall have your eyes scratched out. Playing with your guts like a ball of wool!” – he shouted standing in the hallway. Miss Peregrine who had just left her study, cleared her throat. Mr. Fluffzpants chuckled nervously, dipping his head down. Miss Peregrine watched him run off like a scaredy cat. On his way he knocked over a jar. It crashed down, glass shattering around.
The cat gasped loud, stopping briefly in his tracks with a raised paw. Miss Peregrine’s eyebrow rose higher. The cat rushed up the stairs. Darting between Millard’s walking shoes. Millard nearly tripped over the cat. Mr. Fluffzpants kept looking over his shoulder hoping Miss Peregrine wouldn’t follow him. He jumped into a room, jumping onto Enoch’s lap. – “What are you doing?” – Enoch called out. – “She’s coming.” – he said scared plopping of his lap. – “I need hiding.” – Mr. Fluffzpants rushed through his room towards the shelves.
Enoch got up moving over to his shelves. – “No! Get out!” – he called out trying to catch the cat by his tail as it jumped from shelf to shelf. Enoch’s eyes widened as one of his jars toggled over. He was able to catch it in time making him sigh relieved. Mr. Fluffzpants jumped on Enoch hearing footsteps in the corridor. – “Who is it?” – Enoch asked feeling the cat’s tail draped over his shoulder. – “The bird.” – he whispered lowering himself.
“Miss P.” – Enoch gasped out as the cat hid in his sweater. Enoch squirmed as it tickled him. Mr. Fluffzpants moved to his back, grabbing onto his shirt underneath his sweater. There was a knock on Enoch’s door as it made them both gasp. The door opened as Enoch and the cat feared the worst. – “Hi Enoch.” – Enoch sighed relieved as it was only Olive. – “Hi Olive.” – he responded pulling his sweater open by his back. – “Now get off!” – Enoch insisted wiggling his back to get the cat off. Olive stared confused at the display.
She blinked confused when Mr. Fluffzpants dropped onto the ground. The cat hissed at Enoch. – “I saved your catty life!” – he called out. Mr. Fluffzpants bowed his head. It then rushed out of the room past Olive. – “Are you two getting along?” – she asked curious. – “No.” – Enoch responded loudly. – “Not even a little bit?” – she continued sweetly. – “We are not friends.” – Enoch declared. Mr. Fluffzpants made his way to your room as you were there to his surprise.
“Oh where have you been.” – you asked as the cat jumped onto your nightstand. – “You don’t want to know.” – he answered. He lifted his head up as you scratched his neck. – “Do you want a belly rub Mr. Fluffzpants?” – you asked. The cat hopped onto your lap, rolling over. – “You don’t have to say that twice.” – he purred moving a bit with his paws. You smiled rubbing his belly. You sighed soft staring into the distance. Mr. Fluffzpants rolled over, setting his paw against your chest, standing upright.
“What is it owner.” – he asked curious. You gave him a faint smile as he already knew what you were thinking off. – “Don’t think of that boy.” – he called out patting your nose with his soft paw. – “I can’t help it.” – you answered. – “You have me. You needn’t need anyone else. Never had.” – Mr. Fluffzpants reminded you. – “I know… but having Enoch around makes me feel something Fluffz.” – you answered. Mr. Fluffzpants lowered itself on your lap once more. Claire came knocking on your door telling you that diner was ready. After diner were you outside.
Walking a bit around as Mr. Fluffzpants was near you. Guarding you like he always had. He jumped, narrowing his eyes. – “Not a chance.” – he said to Enoch, stopping him from taking another step. Enoch sighed deep. – “Let me have a moment with her.” – he begged. – “No!” – Mr. Fluffzpants answered grumpy. – “I…you owe me for letting you hide from Miss P!” – Enoch let out to blackmail the cat. The cat turned his head rudely. – “That was hardly any saving. It was only Olive.” – he answered dismissively.
Enoch smirked. – “Then you wouldn’t mind me telling Miss P where you are so she can have you clean up your mess.” – he expressed with vanity. The cat remained silent looking anxious around. – “What cat caught your tongue?” -   Enoch pressed on. The cat gave him a side-eye for such a stupid comment. Then it sighed loud, sitting down. – “Fine, but only because you please my owner.” – he said, tail swishing over the grass.
“Thank you.” – Enoch said. – “Don’t mention it.” – Mr. Fluffzpants answered. Enoch walked passed the cat over to you. The cat turned watching from afar how Enoch met up with you. Seeing the joy in your eyes upon seeing him. – “Perhaps not so bad after all.” – he muttered with a smile. – “What was that cat?” – Mr. Fluffzpants meowed loud jumping out of his skin.
Panting he looked up to seeing Olive suddenly stand by him. – “Nothing!” – he groaned out annoyed. Olive bend down to him. – “Don’t worry I won’t tell a soul.” – she winked knowing the two of them warming up to each other. Olive left as Mr. Fluffzpants laid himself down in the grass, keeping a watchful eye on you from afar. Just like he always had.

You never intended on becoming a murderer.
No one comes into the world with the intention of taking lives, but somewhere along the way, a piece of them changes and goes dark. You have spent your whole life trying to avoid a part of you going dark. You didn’t want to take lives, you wanted to save them.
But it all happened so fast.
One second you’re preparing a surprise breakfast in the kitchen with Emma and Fiona, the next Millard is calling you from the front door. You turn and rush to the door. Millard never yells, always the picture of the perfect gentleman, sometimes crossing the entire house to deliver simple messages to you.
If he’s yelling then something is terribly wrong. Were Alma awake already—it’s a fluke she isn’t, but you’d enlisted the children’s help in making her a nice breakfast before she woke—she’d scold him for not using an inside voice.
“What is it, Millard?” You ask.
He pushes you towards the door and you step onto the porch. It’s the perfect day, but the breeze from the water makes you shiver, pulling your robe tighter over your nightdress. Seeing the police officer standing on the porch makes you glad you did.
Your appearance is the least of your worries when you take in the scene.
The police officer is a gruff, round man, with a permanent scowl etched onto his face. He stands in the center of the porch with Olive and Claire on either side of him. White-knuckled hands grip their shoulders and you stand straighter, fury building at the terrified, pained looks on their faces.
“Can I help you, Officer?” You ask coldly.
“Yeah, your wayward freaks set the Pub on fire this morning,” He says, glaring at you, “I need you or the Headmistress to come down to the station.”
“They’re children, surely you’re not going to arrest them?”
His grip tightens on the girls and they both wince. Your fist clenches at your side. It’s all you can do to hold in your peculiarity, the air around you thrumming with your own desire to lash out at the man. But you do nothing, too worried you’d hurt the girls in the process.
You have a good handle on your peculiarity, but when you’re emotional enough, all bets are off. And you can’t claim to be calm at the moment.
“I can and I will!” He roars.
“You will not!” You snap back, stepping forward and into his space, “Now unhand my children.”
There’s a split second where his eyes widen. You wonder what he sees in your face that inspires the fear you see, a twisted glee blossoming amidst your anger. He grasps for words and his grip loosens on Claire and Olive.
Claire tries to pull away, frightened by the raised voices. Her attempt at escape draws the Officer’s attention and he reasserts his grip. When he does, it is like steel as it clamps roughly on Claire, and she lets out a frightened cry.
You don’t hesitate before spearing the knife in your hand through his chest.
He gasps and releases the girls. You go to look into his eyes, only to find them gone. His face is seared by red, yellow, and blue markings criss-crossing across his skin. There are dark blue marks under the sockets of his eyes where his skin seared against his cheekbones. A thin, white substance drips down his cheeks.
You realize with horror that the knife acted as a conduit of your peculiarity—which struck him as lightning this time—and the liquid you're watching drip down his cheeks are what would be his eyes… if they hadn’t exploded from the heat. A shriek leaves your lips and you let go of the Officer.
His body falls backwards and flops onto the porch steps with a heavy thud. Your eyes are stuck on the knife protruding from his chest, black from the electrical heat.
“Impressive.” Enoch says behind you.
Turning slowly, horror settling in your bones as you look into several of the children’s faces, you stare at Enoch. He’s leaning against the doorway with a look of admiration on his face. Your stomach turns.
“The lightning was a nice touch.” He adds.
“It really is interesting, Miss. Miss Peregrine never lets us watch.” Olive says sweetly.
You know Alma is no stranger to taking lives; being an Ymbryne in the current society of peculiars made her well equipped for that, but knowing it interested your children was another thing entirely. Folding your shaking hands in front of you, you force a smile.
“Children,” You say, voice faltering, “Will one of you keep watch for any other law enforcement? I have to go speak with Miss Peregrine about this.”
“No you don’t, I know where she usually puts the bodies.” Enoch says.
He backs up a little when you stare at him and you wonder again how you must look, “Just keep watch, Enoch.”
All of the children on the porch nod. You slip back into the house and start up the stairs, ignoring Emma’s concerned calls after you, not sure you have the strength now to explain it all to her. Alma would make this all easier. Alma would make this go away.
Despite that, you can’t help but sitting with the information that you’ve just made yourself a murderer. You lost control and took a life. It makes your stomach turn and you stop in the hall, leaning against the bannister, holding back the bile threatening to rise in your throat.
Alma is asleep peacefully, wrapped in soft blue sheets. You hate having to wake her like this.
“Alma,” You whisper, rounding the bed and kneeling at her side, “I need you to wake up—You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”
One blue eye squints open and you try to smile. Both eyes shoot open when she takes in your appearance; kneeling next to her side of the bed, shaking and on the verge of tears. Her hands grab your face. Her unblinking eyes are running over you, relieved to find nothing wrong, only to widen when she remembers the children.
“What has happened?” Alma demands.
She’s out of bed in a flash and wrapping herself in her own robe, talon-like nails ripping through the fabric, though she pays it no mind. When she’s steps from the door, you find your voice again.
“I killed that police officer.” You admit.
Alma freezes in place. Slowly, she turns on her heel, eyes piercing you.
“I beg your pardon?”
The dam breaks, “I sent the girls into town for a few things and he came back, saying they set the pub on fire, he was so cruel and he made Claire cry and—and then I stabbed him. In the chest. And his eyes exploded!”
The Ymbryne deflates, coming back to sit on the bed. She pinches the bridge of her nose and sits as you stare at the floor in silent horror.
You replay the scene in your head. It feels like a blur—you didn’t even remember having the knife in your hand until it was through his heart. Then he was discolored and eyeless. You shudder. Alma gently pulls you up onto the bed to sit next to her.
“All of the children are alive and well?” She asks.
You nod.
“The only one harmed is the officer?”
You nod again. “I’ll take care of it, darling. He’ll be alive again tomorrow. You’re alright.”
“I killed someone, Alma.” You whisper.
“That does happen at times.” Alma says.
“How can you be so casual about this? I’m a murderer.”
Alma can’t help it, but a small chuckle leaves her lips. You jerk away. Intent on soothing you, you’re pulled back against her, her lips pressed to your temple in apology.
The idea of taking a life makes you feel like a monster. Yet, everyone else is unphased, even acting like the whole situation was humorous. You feel like you’ve missed a memo of some kind, especially if the children were unbothered.
“Darling, you’re not a murderer if your victim is alive the next day,” Alma says, “You protected the children. That’s what matters. Not the cruel officer who will wake up none-the-wiser in a few hours.”
“I still feel awful about it.” You admit.
She nods, “That will pass with time. Now, let’s handle this, shall we?”
Alma stands and offers you her hand. You take it in your own, letting the warmth of her ground you. You also use it to distract you from the twisted amusement on her face.
You still feel no better about taking a life, but at least you know it isn’t permanent.

an: hi :) so i accidentally deleted my other account so im reposting everything on this new one, bare with me please ! im very sorry for the confusion and inconvenience !
blue was never a cold colour to you.
Retrouve-moi dans le jardin à minuit.
You read the note over and over again, a smile growing on your face. You were getting ready for bed when you heard the soft scrapping of paper sliding under your door. You stood from your bed and picked up the note curiously, unfolding it gently. Immediately you knew the messenger, Alma. The french was a dead giveaway but it was the perfect cursive writing that had your heart fluttering in your chest.
The sound of the children's bedroom doors closing echoed through the old house. That meant it was ten o’clock. You tucked the note away, changed back into your daily clothes and waited. The following two hours were the longest of your life. Your mind raced with thoughts on what the note could mean, what she wanted. You were pulled from your anxious thoughts when you saw the time. You carefully crept down the stairs and made your way to the back door, opening it quietly.
You held your breath when you saw her waiting. The moonlight illuminated her and you were pulled in helplessly like a moth to a flame. Her eyes were soft and her hand extended in a silent invitation. You took it willingly. Despite the many shades of blue that made up the beautiful woman in front of you, she was always warm.
The warmth that radiated from her hand travelled to your cheeks and you smiled. In a haze, you allowed her to lead you through the quiet trees and back gate. You continued down a cobblestone path, the stairs overgrown with moss and delicate wildflowers. Erie shapes were cast across the ground. The moon's soft rays created shadow puppets with the foliage from the trees above you. The sure grip of Alma's hand soothed the unrest in your belly. You always felt safe with her.
It was rare that you had time alone together due to the children pulling you both every which way. Now that you were free of distractions the courage you normally carried was lost to the wind, words dying in your throat as you walked. You never had an opportunity to leave the house long enough to bathe in the deep blue water of the sea nearby and it was something that nagged at you. Though you weren't too fussed about it as you were just as content to stay and help Alma with the household duties and the children. However, it was something you mentioned to Emma when she caught you looking longingly at the water from a window upstairs. A week passed since you had told her and you were now walking hand in hand with Alma as she led you down to the sand in the middle of the night. You were going to speak with Emma later.
You felt your foot sink as you stepped onto the sand. The air was salty and the breeze was cool.
Alma had enough courage to speak first, “I can see why you longed to be here, it's quite beautiful.”
You were drawn to the water like a magnet. Each time the waves pulled back into the sea, it felt as though the ocean wanted to pull you with it. You gazed at the water longingly. “Emma told you?” You asked softly, your hand still in hers.
“She did. But I had noticed it before she had said anything.” Alma explained as she admired the view in front of you both. The black midnight sky was reflected in the water, turning the shades blue into a sea of ink. The moon glowed over the horizon and illuminated the tops of the calm waves as they crested.
“It’s a happy place of sorts.” You said as you kept your eyes forwards. You could see out of your peripheral that Alma had turned to look at you, studying you for a moment. You let your eyes close. The sound of the water was almost loud enough to drown out the sound of your heart pounding in your chest as you felt her squeeze your hand. Almost.
“Are you ready?” She asked gently, the anticipation in her tone not lost on you. You nodded your head and turned to her with a grateful smile. As the two of you undressed you fought the urge to stare, failing miserably. You were thankful that Alma had chosen a midnight swim instead of one at sunrise. The darkness providing a cover to the deep blush that bloomed on your cheeks. Not that it mattered, she caught you staring, a small smirk growing on her lips.
You waded into the sea first, breathing out a sigh of relief as water rose up your body with every step. The soft splashing of Alma following behind you met your ears. As the waves washed over her skin she hissed out, “it's freezing!”
Your head tilted back as you released a laugh. She laughed with you and made her way to your side. Once you were both about shoulder height in the dark water you took both of her hands in yours beneath the surface. You look at her with a challenging gaze. Her eyes widened in realisation before taking in a shaky breath. You both squeezed your eyes shut, nervous smiles adoring your faces before fully submerging yourselves, your hands holding each other tightly as you braced the icy temperature.
You resurfaced together with small gasps, goosebumps adoring your skin. You were suddenly caught off guard by the sight of Alma inches away from you, it knocked the breath from your lungs and your heart pounded louder in your chest. Her indigo hair appeared even darker when wet, a few strands sticking to her cheek. The paleness of her face, neck and shoulders shone under the light of the moon, freckles scattering her skin. It was like an inverted image of the night sky. Her nose, cheeks and lips flushed pink from the cold. You met her piercing blue gaze and all you could think about was how you could never get tired of admiring her.
Her hands came to hold your hips and pulled you in closer. “You’re staring again, darling.” Her smooth words flowed along with the current of the sea. Your eyes fitted between hers, she did the same. You could feel her hands move up to your waist and you shivered, not because of the cold. She pulled you close and you let her, willingly standing chest to chest. Your hand came out of the water and pushed the strands of hair that stuck to her cheek back behind her ear. Her gaze fell to your lips and your heartbeat picked up its pace.
You don't know who leaned in first. Her lips were salty from the ocean and you were sure yours were the same. Her cold lips moving softly against yours filled you with so much warmth you felt as though you could burn ablaze in the middle of the sea. You eventually pulled away and rested your foreheads together, her hands unmoving. You both swam back to shore, pulling your clothes over your damp frames. You tried not to show your disappointment as Almas curves were shielded from view.
The walk back to the house was quiet, though this time the nervousness was gone. It was an easy silence and you decided that words weren’t enough to describe the feelings you had anyway. As you made your way back up to the house you purposely slowed your steps, wanting to savour the evening as long as you could, sand sticking to the salty skin of your bare feet. “Thank you,” your voice soft as you met her gaze walking along the stone path. She gave you an easy smile in return, taking your hand in hers. You suddenly felt warm again.
As you reentered the back gate of the garden, you squeezed Alma's hand. She turned back to look at you with a questioning gaze. You simply pulled her in for another kiss and felt her smile against your lips. Your heart fluttered in your chest as you shared the secret kiss in the garden, in the dark, among the flowers. You pulled back and shivered as the wind danced across your wet skin. “Let’s get you inside,” she chuckled, pulling you to the back door.
You both kept quiet as you slipped into the house. The sound of water dripping echoed through the hall as salty drops fell from wet hair. Evidence of your late night excursion was present on the wood floor. Damp sandy footprints trailing behind you both as you made your way through the house. Emma watched from her bedroom door that was slightly ajar as you arrived at the top of the stairs. Alma placed a final quick peck on your flushed cheek before turning to her bedroom door, allowing you to cross the hall and retire to your room for the evening. Once your door was closed she turned and caught sight of the blonde girl. She simply held a finger to her lips playfully as if to say, not a word.

Jake was the most annoying person Y/n had ever met.
The problem with a boy shaking the very core of the way Miss Peregrine's Home worked, is that there was a set routine. Not just the same day, every day. Not just the same clothes. Not just the same activities and expectations, but also the same people. The same dynamics. Everything was clear and simple and predictable - as it was supposed to be. It was Enoch and Horace and Olive and Fiona and Claire and Emma and Millard and Bronwyn and Hugh and the twins and Y/n. They all had their chores, their meals, and their rooms. Wake up, do the exact same thing, reset the day, go to bed.
In some ways, Jake changing everything was nice. Emma was happier with him, and they were safer now. They'd always be safe now. Miss Peregrine didn't have to deal with her imperfect day, and they had lots of new friends.
Change was hard though, and unpredictable. Emma and Jake, and then Fiona and Hugh. And then suddenly everyone was a lot less okay with Enoch and Y/n pining for each other but never doing anything about it.
Enoch and Y/n had always been like this. They avoided each other despite everything, somehow having pulled it off for decades straight now. Anytime they did talk, the room seemed to go still. They were insatiable, starving for each other. Every look was too long, and yet too short. Every conversation saturated with so much emotion neither boy could handle it.
Being a teenager was hard.
But for decades, everyone had left it alone. At some point the distance and awkwardness and desperate yearning had become a part of the routine. Wake up, do what you did everyday, glance over the way Y/n's breath caught, a smile tugging to his face when Enoch brought something to life, ignore the way Enoch's eyes lingered when Y/n began to chat with a bird or squirrel or worm.
Even Fiona was good at it, and she was Y/n's sister. They had always been far more concerned with their own relationship as siblings. Two halves of one whole - a plant gift and an animal gift. Flora and fauna.
But now she was busy with her own crush, and without her there to fill Y/n's time, it was more and more obvious how ridiculously in love he was. Olive had met a girl in the other loop they'd joined who had wings, and the two had been having a ball flying around together - which meant Enoch was more available than normal as well.
Of course they ended up in the same space more often than they usually did.
The new kids weren't used to the pining. It wasn't routine, they hadn't learned to ignore it. And the more they pointed out that the way Enoch and Y/n acted wasn't a just-friends-and-family feelings kind of situation, the more the other kids acknowledged it too. Suddenly everyone was looking at the boys expectantly, and with all those eyes on them... it was hard to ignore their own situation even more.
This was especially hard on Y/n. He had always known he wasn't going to end up with some epic love like in the books. Even before the loop, everyone had marked him as insane and weird. His little sister could make flowers grow in the palm of her hand, and her older brother knew all the town secrets because the pets could talk to him. But after the loop? The options were so limited and he was gay - it wasn't going to happen. No way in hell that with one person he could even possibly end up with, who he liked, liked him back. That sort of thing was difficult to find even with several options. But one?
Not to mentioned he hadn't really come to terms with the fact that he wasn't straight. Everyone knew he was into Enoch, but outside of that they had no idea what was going on with his sexuality. He'd never opened up about it, and flat out denied anytime someone had asked. Even Fiona had nothing to offer in terms of information - he hadn't told her anything either. Which was weird, because they knew a lot about each other. She was his confidante.
He'd never even admitted it to himself.
That wasn't good enough for Leroy and Sofie though. They were two of the kids from the other loop, and they were determined to play match maker between the two boys. It was how a harmless game night had gone so terribly wrong. They had convinced Jake to talk about all the silly, immature party games he had heard of and to "experience the culture they were missing out on" all the kids from both loops had been dragged into several different rounds of truth and dare and spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven. Nothing happened for most of the people, who only fist bumped or took the opportunity to info dump in a space where the other person had no option to listen.
And then Enoch and Y/n got picked.
For the first ten minutes, both boys were completely composed. But Enoch had a very good understanding of time and as more than seven minutes passed, he grew agitated. "It's been long enough, let us out," he called.
When all that came back from the other side was giggling, Y/n got irritated too. Being this close to Enoch was bad enough without there being a foreseeable end in sight. "Guys. Guys!"
"Talk about your feelings!" Sofie called back, and a dozen pairs of feet could be heard on the stairs, leaving Enoch and Y/n. In a closet. Locked for who knows how long. Alone in an entire room, in the basement.
Miss Peregrine would put it together and come and get them before dinner, but... even that was a long way away.
It was quiet a long time, but eventually even Enoch couldn't handle it. He broke first.
"Are we just going to wait for Miss Peregrine?"
Y/n shrugged. "They all left, so... It's not like even if I did anything here they'd let us out."
"Did anything?" Enoch scoffed. "Did what exactly."
"I don't know," Y/n snapped. Both boys were rather hot headed and tended to interact with each other through biting remarks and snarky banter. These snippy words were familiar to them.
Enoch rolled his eyes. "I'm not just going to sit here that whole time. At least tell me what they think we need to share feelings about?"
Y/n shrugged. "Beats me."
Another king quiet and then Enoch seemed to soften. He had changed a lot since Jake too. He had been so defensive of Emma before, but now he saw the flaw in that. Emma and Jake were happy, and more than anything he... envied them. He wanted that. And he had wasted enough time keeping himself from it. If Emma could open her heart to getting broke to risk love and succeed... maybe he could too. "Y/n."
"What?" He was gorgeous. That withering look and unwavering attitude. Enoch loved that he could always keep up, matching any sass off or sarcastic comment. Often beating Enoch at what he had always considered as his own private game. A game he never lost at... until Y/n. Y/n who found his homunculus fascinating instead of disturbing and never scared at even the worst of Enoch's attempts. Y/n who was so awkward and brash with people, but so gentle and calm and caring toward animals. Y/n, who was his best self out in the woods with no shoes on and a smile on his face as he closed his eyes and listened to the wind through the trees, the birds singing, the bugs buzzing...
"Do you want to play Twenty Questions?" It was another of Jake's silly games. They had planned to play it after Seven Minutes in Heaven but, well, now they were locked in a closet.
Y/n shot him a withering look, cocking an eyebrow. "No."
Enoch's lips almost twitched into a smile. "Come on. Since when are you more of a buzz kill than I am?"
Y/n sighed. "Fine. Whatever." He looked at Enoch again and couldn't help but soften. They were both like this. Hard to touch, impossible to get close to. Rough and snappy. Except for those select few. For Enoch, it was the girls. Fiona and Claire had it the easiest; Olive had to work for it; Emma had gotten under his skin after Abe. For Y/n, there was no one who had worked their way into his good graces as well as Enoch had. He of course had softness for the kids, always taking to children who needed someone to have their back - even if they wouldn't admit it - but Enoch was still special. He always was.
Enoch swallowed a smile, matching Y/n's casual energy. They both leaned against the wall, Y/n crossing his arms over his chest and Enoch slipping his hands in his pocket. "You go first," Enoch encouraged. There was something playing in his eyes, so bright it shone even in the low lighting.
Y/n raised an eyebrow, unsure. "Okay... what's your favorite color?" It was a dumb question - he already knew - which meant that if Y/n wasn't going to try neither was Enoch.
"Triangle." He smirked, then leaned forward. "Do you like men?"
There was a long silence in the closet. It felt... horribly fitting. Suffocatingly on point. "Why do you ask?"
"That's not an answer," he shot back.
Y/n's face burned. "That's a dumb question! You've never cared once in our decades of friendship and now you do? Why?"
"Because of Jake." Y/n almost began going off about how annoying Jake was, but Enoch cut him off. "I thought everything was set in stone. He were the group we'd always been. Abe proved it to me. We can get smaller, but never bigger. But then Jake came along and left behind everything for Emma. And I realized, maybe that's what love is. Maybe it's giving up what was for what could be. Because it's worth it. And if I made a leap like that, I won't even have to give anything up. All I have to do is take the first step."
His voice was so soothing, but his words were like shots of ice through Y/n's veins. It was a startling contrast. "Enoch..." He frowned, pursing his lips. He couldn't look at the other boy. "What would you do if I asked you that? You can't expect me to-"
"I do. I like men."
Y/n's jaw dropped. He snapped it closed after a beat, eyes trained on Enoch. The other boy seemed... excited. Genuinely. "And you're telling me this... for a reason. I assume?" Enoch just nodded. He wasn't just excited; he was nervous too. To be fair, so was Y/n. "Because you like me?" He asked, even more softly.
Enoch hesitated. Then nodded. "I... have. For a long time."
Y/n sighed, head falling back against the wall. A part of him wanted to argue, wanted to fight it. Wanted to stick his head in the sand.
But a much larger part of him knew that this had been coming for a long time.
“I thought when I told you I was into men it would be scarier.” Enoch laughed at Y/n’s confession, and it was only a split second before Y/n joined him. It was completely bizarre and borderline ridiculous. They’d been denying their feelings so long it had become habit. First out of hesitation. You never know exactly how someone would react to something. And then it was friendship. They were so close, and they’d gotten into a pattern of thought. They were only friends - nothing else was possible. But as everything around them changed, pattern had no room in their life anymore. So habit had taken over.
And now…
Y/n rested his head on Enoch’s shoulder, hesitantly taking his hand. Enoch sighed, squeezing back. Reassuring him.
“I like you specifically,” Y/n piped up.
Enoch’s smile was small as he tried to fight it, but the blush across his cheeks gave him away. “I like you too.” Y/n chuckled again, and Enoch echoed him. Like their energy was bouncing off of each other, growing. Becoming simply by the existence of the other.
“I don’t want our first kiss to be in here,” Enoch sighed. The closet was too much a metaphor, but even more-
“I don’t like that everyone’s forced so much onto us,” Y/n agreed. “Thank god they did, but-“
Enoch huffed with amusement. “But I don’t want them to have everything. Some things are just for you and me?” Y/n nodded and Enoch smiled, leaning close and pressing his lips to Y/n’s forehead. Y/n sighed, content. They stayed like that until the close door was opened, several pairs of curious eyes staring in at them.
“Are you together now?”
Y/n and Enoch exchanged looks and then scrambled to their feet, both shouldering the door open and slipping out. Everyone was laughing - even the ones who tried desperately to lock the pair back in the room.
And so the boys were out of the closet.
They took each others’ hand again when they settled onto the couch together, an everyone had to agree: that could be enough.

Finally, Always, & Forever ~Dark!Miss Peregrine xFem Immortal!Reader
Tumblr media
@athenodora-sulpicia-writer Request- Miss Peregrine; If you do can you write a one shot with the numbers, 2, 60 and 62 from your Mummy Masterlist all for a female reader/character? And if you write it about Miss Peregrine can you make it dark Miss P?
Hey @athenodora-sulpicia-writer !! Thanks for the request and your patience 😊 I had fun researching Miss P and now I’m happy to say that I can write for her! I got some inspiration from @valentineisrotting on this one 🙃 And I also found a Stela Cole song to go along with it! To me, Love Like Mine appeals to the dark and sacrificial nature of Miss P’s love in this plus the “I’m so good that I’ll make you wanna stay up” line😫 (and much more but that’s the main point). Hope you Enjoy 💋

She’d told you to never visit. Not that she didn’t want you to… Hell, she longed for you to. No, because she was afraid they’d catch you.
See, you had what the scientists longed for… True Immortality. That was your peculiarity. You weren’t a simple child anymore, and if had gotten harder and harder to conceal with time. So out of preservation of both your lives, Alma had forbid you from coming to see her in her loops. It was letters only.
But once you’d heard of her loop nearly being damn near destroyed… You couldn’t help the urge to run into the arms of your lover to see if all was well.
You had heard from a friend that Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children had found a new home near New Zealand. So you travelled there and lo and behold, you found the rumored loop and house corresponding with it. You entered and walked through the front gate.
And next to the front door, talking to one of her children, stood the one and only, Alma Peregrine. You suddenly felt all childish again. You’d broken her only rule. But you didn’t care enough about that right now.
As you stood there from afar, mouth agape at your lover, Alma sensed something in the air had changed. You had started to walk up the front path to the house, when her gaze caught yours. A myriad of emotions washed over face.
Anger. Sadness. Pure joy. A little lust…?
As you walked up the house steps, Alma sent her child inside.
Before she could say anything, you began, “I know you told me… not to come… but…” you found yourself a stuttering mess, “but then I heard about you almost getting killed…?! And I just thought that I needed to know you were alright…”
Your gaze met hers as you hit your lips and blushed, unsure what she would do. Suddenly, it was like something broke inside the raven haired goddesses eyes. You gasped lightly as you were suddenly in her tight embrace.
“I was so worried for you…” she whispered.
Your eagerly returned her hug. Her lips peppering kisses all over your face and neck.
“Me? I was worried for you… Are you safe now…?” You whispered.
She nodded and pulled away slightly, growing more distant all of a sudden. Her gaze becoming darker.
“Love…?”
“Even though we’re safe now… You still broke the rules, my dear…”
Your breath hitched slightly. Light blush crept up your cheeks as you apprehensively nodded in recognition of your disobedience.
“I might do something I’ll regret…” She warily warned you.
Afterall, she hadn’t seen you in ages. And now she was getting a chance to lay hands on you once more. At her full Control. She wanted to check in with you first.
“I don’t care.” You whispered, “Use me. Fuck me. Edge me. I’m yours.”
At that, she smirked and nodded, her hand crept up your shoulder, as she brought her lips to the shell of your ear.
“Second floor, last door on the right…” she husked, “Be a good girl and tie yourself to the bed posts…”
Your breath hitched yet again.
“Yes mistress…” you whimpered, scurrying into the house and up the stairs.
You didn’t even register to explain your presence to her children, whom you passed along the way. Luckily, Alma had you covered on that front. As you stripped and dug around her closet for her signature black lace ties, Alma explained to her children a bit about you and your presence here.
When she came into her room, you were struggling in tying your second wrist to the bedposts. You’d already ties both your feet and your left wrist. The raven haired beauty chuckled lightly, and shutting the door, she came over to you.
“Let me help you, dear…” she purred, easily tying your wrist to the bedpost.
You and she both knew this was the nicest she was going to get tonight. After that, her tone and gaze went straight dark. The kind of darkness that made your thighs clench and your breath shallow… She then moved to the edge of the bed, taking in your entire form.
“You broke the rules…” she repeated, this time with an sharp edge to her tone.
You gulped.
“I did, mistress.” You whimpered, squirming under your restraints.
She hummed in satisfaction of your recognition.
“I haven’t touched you in ages…” she wickedly purred, licking her lips.
Even after all this time, it wasn’t hard to remember that she liked verbal answers…
“No, you haven’t, mistress…” you breathily whimpered.
“Safe words?”
“Green for good, yellow for pause, red for stop, and three taps for stop if I can’t speak.”
The raven haired woman hummed in recognition and then began stripping in front of you without another word. You whimpered lightly at the sight of her body, adorning a jaw-dropping sleek, black lingerie set. Your little sounds did not go unnoticed by the other woman. She then climbed on the bed, crawling on top of you.
“You’ll have to be quiet. I won’t have the children hearing your leud sounds.” She warned, “I will gag you if you can’t keep those pretty lips closed.”
You nodded vigorously, pursing your lips together tightly.
~~~
You knew she would punish you for breaking her rules, but fuck…
Why did she have to be so fucking skilled at it…?!
Her tongue dipped into your precious cunt tasting the juices of yet another orgasm which she had pulled out of you. You were a shaking, stuttering mess, who was desperately trying to stay quiet. But your head fell back in pure bliss as her tongue slotted itself inside your core once more.
“Fuck yessssss…” you hissed, tugging on your restraints.
At this, Alma cocked her head up and removed her tongue fully from your heated center. You hit back the whimper which was bound to try and escape you. The raven haired goddess then got up without another word and grabbed your knickers, shoving them in your mouth and effectively gagging you.
~~~
The stamina of this woman, you couldn’t…
She’d been bringing you over the edge for hours, punishing you with the double edged sword of overstimulation. One particular lick to your sensitive and puffy clit, sent you spiraling and spasming. Your back arched and you screamed into your knickers in response.
“Yes, sweet girl, I know your mistresses tongue feels so good. But why are you crying, sweet thing…?” She taunted.
She wasn’t wrong… Your mascara was running down your face. All from the pure utter, overstimulating bliss the woman as bringing you.
“You asked for this when you decided to break the rules…” she wickedly purred, attaching her hot mouth to your clit and sucking harshly.
A desperate cry of painful pleasure left your throat.
“Is this too much for you…?” She taunted, attaching her mouth back quickly on your clit.
You nodded vigorously, pulling tightly against your ties, your body spasming at her touch. But she firmly held your thighs for her easy access.
“That’s odd… look at how your dripping on my tongue…” She chuckled wickedly.
You let out a particularly desperate whine, which was easily muffled by your make shift gag.
“But that’s ok, sweet thing…” She lustfully purred, “If you keep crying like that your mistress will let you cum in her mouth however many times you’d like…”
New tears of pleasure streamed down your face as she brought you to yet another climax, leaving your throat sore and your legs trembling.
“My pretty crybaby…” she cooed while cleaning you up only to go down on your dripping cunt once more.
~~~
Aftercare was a staple for Alma. So when she was done with you, she gently scooped your fragile form up and carried you to her bathtub. She ran the water and then promptly joined you, making sure to live on you and clean you up proper. Then, the two of you snuggled in the water for a while. You nuzzled into her form lovingly.
“Missed you so much…” you murmered into the crook of her neck.
“I missed you too…” Alma whispered, kissing your nose affectionately, “You don’t ever have to leave again, my Dear…”
“I’m yours. Always and Forever…” you murmured, drifting off into a light slumber in Alma’s arms.
