Look this is 100% self gratifying crack. Based on my own 100% genuine experience:

I have a large tattoo, across my chest, shoulder blades and back. So, I was fairly resigned to the fact I'd probably never get to go to a public bath whilst visiting my friend in Japan, fair enough. One day however, she says she'd found a bath that allowed tattoos, and not just tiny ones that could be hidden by a plaster. So I go, very excited, and end up round the back of an area with a lot of signs advertising SoapIands and LoveHoteIs. I explain in the shakiest Japanese to the lady manning the counter that I have a large tattoo and she waves me in nonplussed. Pretty much every man there is covered in tattoos. Whilst I was drying my hair, one of them tries to ask me something but my Japanese was no where near good enough to answer. When I get back my friend seemed a little worried and then confesses that she'd found out, after I'd left, that she'd sent me to a yakuza bathhouse.

I wish I was able to understand what that man was trying to say to me.

It’s about the gender. He’s gender. She’s gender. They’re both gender together. It’s about finding someone who Gets You™️ and making something of that together. OH ALSO!!!! It’s the way his dead person makeup makes sense! The skin is shrunken so there’s a noticeable dip from where the bone of his skull ends and the cartilage of his nose bridge continues. It’s the way he’s grey and veined and stiff limbed! Like sure it’s not realistic he wouldn’t be all gross and decayed but also suspend your disbelief yada yada

If we wouldn't be ableist towards someone with any of the personality disorders because we accept that mental illness will always have symptoms that can manifest as harmful for others, or "inconvenient", or as what historically society perceives as a moral failing, maybe we should extend some of that grace to people with anorexia/other eds.
