Reddie Fic Recs
Okay so these are the ones I go back to and reread constantly!! All listed have multiple chapters, impeccable grammar/structure, and RIDICULOUSLY good characterization/dialogue. Theyre also all located on AO3. My obsession is too late for peak fandom interactions so these are what keep my hyper fixation alive.
1. In The Heat Of The Summer (You’re So Different From The Rest) by Kaboomslang
There’s a heatwave in L.A., the first time Richie sees Eddie naked.
Or
One very hot year in the life of two idiots in love, working shit out.
It is so so so so fucking good I can’t stand it. It’s an Eddie Lives AU that is 15 Chapters and 109,525 words of pining and comfort and beauty. Eddie comes to stay with Richie in LA after the events of It Chapter 2. Literally my only complaint is that Stan stays dead however the characterization of everyone and the way the writer handles their grief more than made up for it.
2. A Strange Sense of Familiarity by Katranga
“So Eddie, what brings you to the bar tonight?" Richie asked. "Gonna rebound from the divorce? Pick up a hot young twenty-something to feel young again?”
“Fuck you,” Eddie said, jutting his chin forward. “What a terrible way to ruin the mood.”
“I’m sorry, all my moods are poorly cultivated. What mood were you looking for?”
A nervous lump grew in Eddie's throat. He threw back his drink to get rid of it.
Hand wrapped around the glass he’d just slammed back onto the bar, he said, “The mood that gets me leaving with a schlubby forty-something.”
--
Pre-chapter two, Eddie and Richie meet and don't remember each other, but have an instant connection anyway...
This may be my favorite fic of all time. This is a Canon Divergence AU where Richie and Eddie meet at a bar prior to the events of It Chapter 2 and start sleeping together. Eddie is divorced so there’s no infidelity storyline (which I appreciate) HOWEVER Richie is still famous and in the closet so there’s still the secret love affair storyline (that I love). The characterization is literally perfect, it has amazing dialogue, and my boy Stan is alive and involved. The OCs are so so good too and I’m beyond obsessed with all the thought the author obviously put into it.
3. Sweeter By The Hour by Katranga
rich. 25. i can be your angle 😇... or yuor devil 😈
Edward. 38. Please don’t call me daddy.
--
Richie’s a struggling standup comedian slash bartender with a side hustle of sexting rich guys for cash. Eddie is recently divorced, recently out, and reluctant to dive into either the dating or hookup scene. He decides to give Sugr, a 'dating app with no commitment', a shot.
Katranga NEVER MISSES. Even though the losers club is in a completely different universe, the characterization and dialogue is so them that it scratches every itch in my brain. This is such a funny and adorable AU I would recommend to anyone that needs a break from the high stress and extremely high stakes of the traditional It Universe.
4. Here In Your Arms by kaspbrak_kid
Richie had no idea what to expect when Stan and Patty asked him to be their daughter's godfather, but it definitely wasn't becoming the part-time dad to a newborn.
This fic makes me cry like a bitch in the best way possible. This is a several years later fic in a Eddie and Stan Lives AU where Richie becomes godfather to Stan and Patty’s firstborn. This is so so special to me because it perfectly preserves The Loser’s Club dynamics in a safe environment and gives me all the found family warm fuzzies I so desperately need. As usual the characterization is phenomenal and Richie and Eddie’s relationship throughout this fic is so so special to me.
5. Richie Tozier’s Five-Step Mission in Getting Over His Childhood Sweetheart by MissDinahDarling
Alternatively: five times Richie tries to get over Eddie and the one time he gets under him instead.
This fic is so so fucking funny I love everything about it. Its also a Stan and Eddie Live AU and thehe dialogue and losers club dynamics are so so funny. I love seeing little snippets of how the losers lives are moving on and especially appreciate that Bev and Ben didn’t move as quickly as some fics do. Richies denial and stupidity are so relatable and its an extremely comforting read.
6. River by Unicornpoe
The thing—the thing is that Eddie hasn’t seen Richie in nearly five years.
They’ve gotten good at avoiding each other. They alternate holidays and get-togethers, only showing up when they’re sure the other won’t be present. They’re still in the same fucking city but Eddie makes sure to shop on the other side of town from their old place where Richie still lives, makes sure not to go to any of Richie’s favorite restaurants or bars or cafes or goddamn park benches. Eddie doesn’t join in on the Losers’s group FaceTime sessions when he knows Richie’ll be joining, and Richie does the same for him.
They couldn’t make their relationship work, but they’re fucking experts at being exes.
*
Eddie goes to spend the holidays at Bill and Mike's cabin in Vermont, and is surprised when Richie is already there. Things get worse when they're snowed in alone. Things get even more worse when Eddie remembers that he's still in love with him.
This fic gives me the most acute sense of profound longing I’ve ever had in my life. The EXTREMELY angsty hurt/comfort au I’ve ever read in my life. Not extremely inclusive of the rest of The Losers Club, but it hits hard.
7. This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by camerasparring
Just as the last car is passing them, Prince Charming makes a snuffling noise and Eddie freezes, still pressed on top of him. He’s suddenly aware of every single place they’re touching, and Eddie thanks the brutal Chicago cold - there’s no way he could pop a boner when it’s this freezing. God, he hates himself.
The man opens his eyes for a moment and looks directly into Eddie’s eyes. Eddie’s mouth hangs open. He tries to smile, but he doesn’t think he achieves it. Instead, he swallows and says:
“Merry Christmas.”
The guy passes back out without a word.
__
or, the While You Were Sleeping AU no one asked for. Set Christmas 1995 and the gang is late 20's/early 30's
I read this before ever even hearing of the movie While You Were Sleeping. While the movie is now one of my favorites, it is absolutely nothing compared to the hilarious romcom of this fic. Found family! Secrets! Drama! Stan the mother fucking man! It is so so good and gives me all the good feelings the holidays provide whenever I read it.
8. Scratch On The Moon by Vulcanodon
Eddie Kraspbak has put aside his old life for good. He drives a stagecoach now and keeps to himself- his days of running with the Denbrough gang are long gone. But when two old friends show up and tell him they have unfinished business back in Derry, Eddie can’t resist the chance to put a final nail in the coffin of the past…and maybe find out why Richie broke his promise all those years ago.
“I’ll take left if you take right,” Eddie calls out but when he looks over Richie isn’t even firing his gun; he’s looking at Eddie with a strange, unreadable expression on his face.
“What is it?” Eddie asks, panicking. “Are you hit?”
“No,” Richie says, “I just. I just wanted you know. That I…that I feel the same way.”
“What?” Eddie asks, totally lost. A bullet whistles past his ear.
“I mean I...” Richie says, as if he’s struggling to get it out. “I feel the same way about you. I mean. That I always did.”
“Could we maybe postpone this conversation?” Eddie says, having to yell over the gunfire. “To a time when we aren’t getting shot at?”
Are you gay? Is longing and the tragedy of wasted time your guilty pleasure? Did you read River by Unicornpoe and want more? Do you like westerns? READ THIS FIC AND COME TALK TO ME IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
9. You Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog (And They Call It Puppy Love) by Fluffifullness
Okay, Richie, so you’ve just been Shaggy Dog’d, you’re either kicking it in the weirdest of all possible afterlives or you never died and the sewer clown is punking you. What next?
(or: Eddie makes it out of Derry, gets a divorce, and adopts a dog.)
Richie gets “Shaggy Dog’d” after he sacrifices himself for Eddie during the events of It Chapter 2. Grief, pining, and Richie’s internal monologue being fucking hilarious. And STAN LIVES!!!!!!
10. Thanks For Pudding Up With Me by Mooeydooey
Eddie Kaspbrak was once one of the most influential professional chefs in New York. After an unfortunate incident in his kitchen, he loses his job and most of his earnings. Down on his luck, with no where else to go, he accepts a job offer with the ragtag 'Prospect Test Kitchen' in Boston.
What starts as a small passion project, making cooking tutorials online, becomes a lot more complicated and bigger than they could ever imagine when Bill brings in a new addition to their team. A comedian with a shocking background and surprise talent for culinary arts: Richie Tozier.
Eddie's the only one who doesn't like the new recruit, but Bill bribes Eddie into giving Richie a chance. At the end of six months, Richie's contract will expire. Eddie will get to decide whether they offer him a contract renewal, or refuse to re-hire him.
Things are heating up in the Prospect street Test Kitchen! Will Eddie stick to his guns, and keep his dignity? Or will he get lost in the sauce?
SO FUCKING FUNNY!!! An absolutely genius buzzfeed-esque au that is exactly what I need when I want a laugh. My favorite parts are when they go into like a third person screenplay mode for describing the events in the videos. I cannot get enough of this enemies(?) to friends to lovers au and I’m so so glad it exists.
11. A Fistful of Coal Dust by Jay Auris (nighthawkms)
Eddie Kaspbrak usually works alone. For a bounty hunting mage, this is unheard of; dangerous, foolhardy. But for Eddie - stricken with a dangerous abnormality to his magic - it's the safest way to survive.
When a new bounty takes him to the backwater town of Derry, he's not expecting anything more than a hard job done right for good money. But Eddie's past is about to catch up with him, and Derry could face the consequences. He'll have to team up with a rag-tag bunch of misfits - a sheriff with too much on his shoulders, a tavern owner haunted by loss, and four other hunters with their own secrets and motivations - if he wants to survive.
And maybe, if he's lucky, he'll get an answer to the one question that's been bugging him since he got to Derry: Who is Richie Tozier, and what does he want from Eddie?
A super fun Steampunk-Western-Magic-Bounty Hunter AU that has the perfect ratio of action, drama, and intrigue. I have no idea how the author came up with such an amazing idea and how they were able to do so much incredible world building but I absolutely LOVE IT.
If anyone reads any of these fics I would love to talk about them and hear what you think! They’re all so so so special to me and stay on my fic rotation, so if y’all have any suggestions for me too I’m happy to check them out!

hello guess what i have for you....... that’s right another reddie- you guessed it- college au!!!!!
au where richie and eddie aren’t friends, but they happen to sit beside each other in one of their classes...... but neither of them are really happy about it. eddie finds richie extremely distracting- he chews his gum too loud, he hums, not super loud but just loud enough for eddie to hear, he watches youtube videos during lectures, he tries to talk to eddie while eddie is clearly focused, and he’s always asking eddie for his notes because he wasn’t paying attention (he’s also quite cute, but that element of his distraction is a whole other thing for eddie to deal with).
richie also finds it annoying at the amount of times eddie tells him to pay attention in class, when he shushes richie when richie breathes a little too loud for his liking, and especially when he doesn’t share his notes. richie supposes that he could just move far away from eddie’s nagging, but there’s something about the cute way eddie’s face scrunches up when he begrudgingly lets richie take a peek at his notes that makes richie stay where he is.
one day in class, about halfway through the lecture, richie realizes that eddie’s been awfully quiet. it isn’t until richie finishes obnoxiously eating a whole, very crunchy, apple that he looks over to see that eddie has fallen asleep, his notebook blank, his pen still in his hand. he finds it amusing at first, considering waking eddie up to remind him to pay attention in class, when he thinks of something.
with the way eddie has always been such a hardass about focusing in class, for him to have fallen asleep mid-lecture must mean that he’s exhausted, that he needs the rest. besides, he looks so at peace, richie thinks. he decides to leave eddie in his beauty sleep, and pays extra attention to his professor as he jots down notes.
an hour later, eddie wakes up in a panic to the sound of hustle and bustle around him. he opens his eyes to see his professor shutting off the powerpoint, and his classmates packing up their things and leaving. he looks down at his table, and sees the empty page of his notebook. his heart sinks- he missed a whole lecture! all because he’s been forcing himself to stay up late all this week, he hasn’t been getting enough sleep, and he was just so exhausted that he couldn’t stay awake in class. he starts to panic, wondering how he’s going to get caught up making its way to the top of his list of concerns- when a notebook flops onto his desk.
he looks down at it, and sees the pages filled with detailed notes from the day’s lecture. he recognizes the messy handwriting, and looks to his side to see richie shrugging his jacket on as he gathers his things. “morning, sleeping beauty,” richie teases. “you’ve got quite a lot to catch yourself up on. return the notebook by next class, alright?”
it takes eddie a moment to process, but when he takes another look down at the notebook, it hits him: richie is giving eddie his notes. eddie feels slightly embarrassed that their roles have reversed, but mostly incredibly grateful. he turns to thank richie, but when he does the other boy is already heading out the class, looking back one last time to send eddie a grin before walking out the door.
eddie feels his cheeks flush as he takes the notebook from the desk. maybe sitting next to richie isn’t so bad after all.

A string of back-to-back deaths of Indian students at colleges across the country has left the South Asian community shaken, sparking anxiety in peers and parents.
In 2024 alone, seven students of both Indian and Indian American origin have died. All men 25 years old and under, two committed suicide, two died of overdoses, two were found dead after going missing, and one was beaten to death, according to police records in states ranging from Connecticut to Indiana.
In Indian communities both in the U.S. and abroad, many are looking for answers.
“It felt like a pattern, like, why was it another Indian kid?” said Virag Shah, 21, a junior at Purdue University in Indiana, where two of the seven deaths occurred. “It just felt traumatic.”
Shah is the president of the school’s Indian Students Association, and he says his peers are alarmed by the repeated incidents.
On Jan. 28, the body of 19-year-old Neel Acharya was recovered on Purdue’s campus. Acharya had gone missing after a night out, Shah said, and was found dead the next morning. Coroners say a cause of death still hasn’t been determined, but there was no trauma to the body.
Just over a week later, Purdue graduate student Sameer Kamath, 23, was found deceased in the nearby woods with a gunshot wound to the head. Medical examiners say he died of suicide on Feb. 5.
These two deaths followed a high-profile death at Purdue in October 2022, when Varun Manish Chheda, 20, was brutally stabbed to death by his roommate, according to police. In December 2023, his alleged killer, Ji Min Sha, was deemed incompetent to stand trial, local news outlets reported.
A Purdue spokesperson directed further questions to the county coroner.
To experts, the number of fatal incidents involving Indian men in the first few weeks of the year is cause for concern. Deaths have been mounting since Jan. 15, when the bodies of two Indian-origin students at Sacred Hearts University in Hartford, Connecticut, were discovered in their residence, authorities said.
Dinesh Gattu, 22, and Sai Rakoti, 21, both suffered from accidental overdoses involving fentanyl, according to the Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner.
A day later, on Jan. 16, 25-year-old Indian graduate student Vivek Saini was allegedly beaten to death in the store where he worked in Lithonia, Georgia. The Indian Consulate tweeted saying it was involved in the case and working to repatriate the body to India.
“It doesn’t take a lot when these gruesome things happen,” said Pawan Dhingra, a professor of American studies at Amherst College. “People will be like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this could have happened to my child, this could have happened to me. Is this really the place I need to go for my higher education?’”
Four days after Saini’s death, the body of Indian American freshman Akul Dhawan, 18, was found in subzero temperatures on University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. He was reported missing by a friend after leaving their dorm at around 1:30 a.m., and though campus police said they did an extensive search, his body was found 10 hours later by a passerby, just 500 feet away from where he was last seen.
“It is so unimaginable that a kid can die in this day and age right on the university campus,” his father, Ish Dhawan, said.
At the University of Cincinnati, Shreyas Reddy Beniger, a 19-year-old student of Indian origin, was found dead on Feb. 1 from an apparent suicide, local police said.
“It’s just tragic,” Dhingra said. “People in India, you’re seeing these stories, multiple stories. You start to wonder, is this still the right pathway?”
Mental health and safety on campus
Yuki Yamazaki, a clinical assistant professor of counseling psychology at Fordham University, said it’s notable that all seven deaths were of young, Indian men. She said she can’t help but think about the fact that it’s a demographic that often doesn’t seek mental health help, and one that engages in riskier behavior.
“It’s so expensive to study in the States and there’s so much pressure to perform well,” she said. “And of course, to get a good job, to maybe obtain a visa. It just means as soon as you get here, you have endless amounts of pressure on you … Especially if your family has helped support you to get to this point.”
As a leader in his campus’ Indian American community, Shah says he’s seen firsthand the pressures that his fellow students face and the coping mechanisms they sometimes turn to. He said that, although motives weren’t clear in some of the incidents, he wondered about mental health as a factor.
“Everything is always driven by competition,” he said. “It’s a big detriment to mental health and it could also push you into, let’s say, drinking too much and going over the edge when it comes to that because you only have one or two days a week to have fun.”
When it comes to student safety, universities are operating within a limited scope, Dhingra said. And while campus might be a safe and happy place for minority students, a surrounding small town might not be.
“If you’re in rural Connecticut, or rural Indiana, that creates its own kind of concern,” he said. “‘Where do I feel safe?’”
Indians make up one-quarter of international students. Some parents might wonder about sending them abroad.
For those on the subcontinent, an American education has long been idealized, seen as a sure path to prosperity. And though experts don’t see that drastically changing, they say people are starting to ask questions: If it was their child, would their university keep them safe? Would they look for them if they went missing?
Indian media has picked up on this rising death toll, with prominent news outlets running stories that read, “Threat to Indian Students in U.S.?” and “American Dream or American Horror?”
Indians constitute more than 25% of all international students in the U.S., and Dhingra doubts headlines like these will lead to any significant drop. But for individual families, especially those who have to sacrifice so much to send their children overseas, America might fall lower on their list.
“Indians can go elsewhere for education,” Dhingra said. “There are other places that are safer … and people know that, that’s not a secret.”

oh reddie snowed in car wreck vent WIP, by beloved
i’ll finish you one day, i swear…
He scooped his phone up and looked through the missed texts and calls from his parents and the other Losers heading back to Derry. He scrolled to his moms contact, called Mother Magitha, and hit 'call'. When he put his phone to his ear, he was shocked to hear the call connecting and not the dial tone he was expecting.
He glanced over to Eddie, "It's ringing!" He said and raised his eyebrows in excitement and fear. The phone rang a few times, not surprising since it was well passed 1 am, before the groggy voice of Mrs. Maggie Tozier came through loud and clear.
"You better be dead or pregnant," Maggie grumbled down the line, causing Richie to choke out a laugh.
"Well, since I'm calling you, I'm gonna have to say those are both impossible." Richie chuckled, panic already easing at the sound of his mothers voice.
"Richie! I thought you were your sister!" Maggie gasped, the sound of sheets rustling was heard over the line," Are you alright? Is Eddie?" She sounded a bit out of breath now.
"Yes, Ma, we're fine," Richie sighed, "we just kind of..slid into a snow drift and now the car is completely buried in snow and we're stuck in it." Richie breathed out in a rush.
"Richard! That is not okay. Are you both hurt at all?" He could hear her footsteps on the creaky stairs and the sound of his dads voice in the background, "Richie!"
"We're fine! We're fine, Ma! I slowed us down enough that we didn't even get whiplash or anything," Richie laughed out.
"We'll let a doctor decide that, and are you sure Eddie's okay? Let me talk to him," Maggie's voice was dripping with concern, but Richie still rolled his eyes and he put the phone on speaker and held it between them,
"you're on speaker Ma."
"Eddie, hon, are you okay?" Maggie's tinny voice rang loud in the snow blanketed car.
"Yes ma'am, we're both perfectly fine," Eddie said with a small smirk to Richie, he always loved how Richie's mother was concerned in a normal, motherly, non overbearing way.
"Well you boys just sit tight, we're coming for ya once we get a tow, she paused and they could hear fabric rustling, most likely her coat being put on, "do you know where you are?"
"We'd just passed the Visitor Center in Kittery, I think we're on..." Richie trailed off, trying to remember the signs he'd passed, "Cutts Rd?"
Maggie sighed, "Alright well you're still about 3 hours out then, so stay warm, keep your hazards on, and for the life of me don't let your phone die!" Maggie listed with increasing volume.
Richie and Eddie huffed out a laugh and agreed before ending the phone call.
They sat in the stark silence of the car afterwards, every noise muffled and dampened from the feet of snow covering them. Richie reached out and pressed the hazards button on his dash, causing the
'click..click..click" of his lights to break the silence, and the yellow lights flashing, giving them more visibility.
"Fuck.." Eddie sighed, "three hours to kill, huh?" He tilted his head against his head rest, looking at Richie who did the same. A sleazy smirk crossed Richie's face and Eddie knew whatever he said, it wasn't gonna be good.
"Whatever will we do to pass the time, oh Eds my Spagheds, whatever shall we do," he trailed off and tapped his chin in faux thought, adjusted his glasses, and then shot up again, "I know! Let's make out!"
Eddie knew it was coming, it always was. Ever since the first party they went to freshman year, where Eddie got way too drunk and said a lot of shit he didn't mean to, one of which was hanging off of Richie and moaning about how much he wants to kiss with him.
It was true. Still is, now at the end of their sophomore year. But of course, Richie being Richie, just took it as one more tool in his 'Fucking With Eddie Kit and brought it up as much as possible. So yeah, Eddie was expecting it, and he knew how he had to respond.
"Beep beep, asshole," he bit out and rolled his eyes,
"like I want your trashmouth anywhere near me.
"See, but I have it on good authority that you want the opposite of that," Richie said with that same stupid sexy smirk as he leaned over the center console and into Eddie space, "you want to kiss me," he said in a sing-song voice.

its always amusing to me in fic when like, tim or dick (or to a lesser extent damian idk whats going on in his team-ups) go missing and only bats are looking for him. like girl if tim misses the weekly young justice get together batman is going to have 5 to 8 teens/children/adults (depending on if ray and traya come to these events and if reddy goes since trayas there. i think ray and traya are there i could take or leave red tornado not the point) knocking down his door demanding to know what hes done to their robin. and when they find out he's missing? they got together an ARMY to invade zandia when anita's dad was missing. an army. batmans going to have a meta on every street corner in three hours whether he wants them there or not like??? girl tim "unlike batman i have friends" drake is not only missed by the bats
idk the titans well enough to say anything specific about if dick went missing however i just dont buy that they wouldnt notice and i double dont buy that they wouldnt muscle their way into the search. like be serious.... donna troy? roy harper? wally west? garth whatever his last name is? kory anders? vic cyborg? gerfield logan? i dont know any other titans but do you think any of these people would mind their business. i dont know them so idk but like i kind of doubt it

Tumblr media
“what to do, what to do-“ the male sighed, running his through his messy bed head. it was only three pm and sammy wouldn’t be back for quite some time.
woosung and chai had been in a relationship for almost three years now, their relationship was open to the public and everyone seemed to be pretty supportive. chai was sat at home today, woosung was doing promotions for lazy and he wouldn’t be back for a long time. he already missed his boyfriend like crazy, he was gone before he woke up this morning.
so chai was currently in the kitchen thinking of something to do, he pretty much laid in bed all day. “guess i’ll take a shower.” he muttered to himself before making his way up the stairs towards the bathroom.
before he got in, he pressed shuffle on spotify before washing his body. he let out a small laugh noticing the rubber ducky in the corner.
“ruBbER duCKie yOuRe thE onE~”
————————————————————————
a sigh left chai’s lips as he used the towel to dry his hair before dropping it onto the counter, his phone still playing music as he started to make himself some noodles.
a familiar melody started to play through the speaker, it was sammy’s song. ‘lazy’ it made the male snort in amusement as he glanced down at his clothes. a pair of fuzzy socks, grey sweatpants and woosungs merch, a sweater that read ‘laazzzy’ it was huge on him.
the sound of paws echoed through out the kitchen, woolfy coming up to nudge chai’s hand, the male smiling down at the dog.
“aww heyy pup, want a treat?” he hummed petting his head before grabbing a treat out of the bin on the counter.
chai pursed his lips picking up his phone, scrolling down to sammy’s contact.
woo 🐶
> want me to make you dinner?
sent ✓
he set his phone down, before opening beneath the sink to grab a few cleaning items. he just missed his boyfriend and wanted nothing more then to text him and tell him to come home or hear his voice on the phone.
but, nonetheless he decided against it. he didn’t want to bother him at all, he’s already having a busy day so why bother him, complaining at that. so instead he sat on his couch, and turned on a random show, hours passed by, woosung kindly declining the dinner saying he’d be home late.
chai let out a yawn, fixing the couch up before trudging up the stairs, woolfy not far behind.
the male tucked himself into the fluffy dovet covers, turning off the lamp, the small night light in the corner giving enough brightness so the room wasn’t pitch black, and it didn’t take long for him to fall asleep.
the sleepy male was awoken my throat sound of a door shutting, his heart thumping in his chest as he glanced over at the clock which read, ‘3:45 AM’ chai yawned, pulling the covers down before stepping out of bed.
goosebumps spread across his body as his feet hit the cold floor, he had kicked his socks off while sleeping, a small habit he had.
chai crept down the hall, his hand holding onto the railing as he rubbed his eyes, stepping down the stairs. his eyes were still blurry from being asleep, and he was still groggy as he didn’t give himself enough time to wake up fully, too excited to see his lover.
he had to blink a few times, trying to rub the tiredness out of his eyes a natural pout forming on his lips.
“did i wake you?” a voice broke out and chai almost forgot why he had come down in the first place. woosung was home, it didn’t take long for the male to make it down the stairs, he may have skipped a few. woosungs arms opened as chai met him halfway in the living room, he wrapped his arms around his taller boyfriend, humming out as woosung embraced him warmth invading his body.
“missed you” chai muttered, his face pressed against woosung as chest, his nose vibrated as the male let out a small chuckle, a warm feeling spreading all over his body when he felt woosungs fingers run through his hair.
“i missed you too.” his raspy voice let out in a deep tone, his hand slipping from his hair to his back as he took in the sight of chai in his hoodie, he looked adorable, as usual.
“c’mon let’s go up.” he added as the two made there way up the stairs, chai was left in the bed as woosung took a quick shower, chai protested at first wanting nothing more then to just lay in bed and cuddle, but unfortunately woosung disagreed claiming he was sweaty and stunk from practice.
so there chai sat, in bed, arms crossed a pout on his face as he waited patiently, his heart skipping a beat as he heard the water stop. after a few more moments woosung exited the bathroom in nothing but a pair of loose sweats that hung low on his hips.
woosung caught a glimpse of his boyfriend who was waiting on the bed like a lost puppy. “i’m all yours now love” he let out, sitting down next to him on the bed.
chai stared at him, making sure he wasn’t going to get up or disappear before his eyes in some odd way, before pushing his boyfriend back onto the bed, straddling him, his hands on woosungs shoulders.
“tell me about your day.” the male demanded, sammy chuckling in response as he shook his head. “i just got back from work the last thing i want to do is talk about it, now lay down so i can lay on YOU.” he teased poking at his boyfriends belly, making the ladder laugh and push his hands away.
“okay, okay fine. but tomorrow i expect a story about how your day went.” he let out, before falling back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling. the old stars that he and woosung had stuck up there glowing.
he felt some shuffling before he felt a head rest on his stomach and a pair of arms wrap around him, glancing down and smiling at woosung who was smiling to himself his eyes already closing.
“love you~” he mumbled already drifting off to sleep. chai smiled, running his fingers through his lovers hair, feeling content.
“i love you more.”

Eddie’s eyebrows pull together as Richie leads him over to the rows of seats. “Why’d you bring me in here?” he asks, now even more suspicious of Richie’s ‘surprise’. “Did you just remember you forgot to do your share of the cleaning and now you’re trying to get me to-”
Eddie cuts off suddenly when Richie stops in his tracks and turns around, and Eddie’s momentum from speed-walking pushes him into Richie’s chest. It’s dark in the theatre, but when Eddie looks up, he sees Richie staring back down at him, and he’s smiling. It’s not a teasing smirk, the one that seems to permanently reside on Richie’s face, nor is it his guilty grin that Eddie has become familiar with from the amount of times Richie forgets to do something, or fucks something up, and comes crawling to Eddie to help him out of his mess.
No, this time it’s a genuine smile, one that Eddie realizes he’s rarely seen, but also can’t help but notice how… nice it looks. Is this his real smile? Eddie wonders. It’s flattering, on him, much moreso than that smug grin that always accompanies Richie’s pestering. The soft curve of his lips, the kind and inviting gleam in his eyes- Eddie’s never noticed it before, but Richie is actually quite-
“Do you really have that little faith in me?” Richie chuckles softly, and Eddie suddenly becomes aware that he’s just been staring at Richie.
He quickly averts his eyes, and takes a small step back to put some space between them, though Richie still hasn’t let go of his wrist. “Can you blame me?” he says, thankful he doesn’t sound as flustered as he feels. “The last time you dragged me into a room after hours was when you knocked over all those boxes of paperwork and we spent two hours re-organizing it.”
“Well, this is not one of those times, okay?” Richie assures him with a gentle squeeze around his wirst. “I promise. Just take a seat, and I’ll be right back.”
Eddie considers it. They were supposed to finish cleaning and locking up twenty minutes ago. If they get caught, not only staying for longer than they’re supposed to, but also goofing off in one of the theatres, they would get in some serious trouble. Not to mention, Eddie is still a bit wary of whatever this “surprise” that Richie has planned is.
And yet, while every part of him is telling him no, Eddie meets Richie’s eyes again, and with a sigh, he nods in agreement. “Fine. But you better be quick.”
Richie lets out a little ‘yes!’ and lets go of Eddie’s wrist. “Great!” he says, stepping past Eddie, back towards the doors. “Okay, you go find a seat, make yourself comfortable, and I’ll be back before you even miss me!” Eddie watches him disappear from the theatre, his footsteps speeding up as he goes off to do whatever he is he’s grown so excited about. Eddie rolls his eyes, but can’t resist a small smile of his own as he walks up the rows of seats.
wip: the reddie movie theatre fic!

Hi! I just caught your url somewhere and I'd like to say that I miss seeing you on my blog! I believe you were among the Httyd book stans? I'm so sad that the series didn't really catch fire with me beyond the first read (however, The Queen's Thief did). Just wanted to say Thank You for the time you spent/are spending on my blog! You are awesome and I hope you are well in your fandom endeavors! :) Cheers, Reddie
Hey Reddie, thanks for your kind words. I'm perfectly fine and hope you're doing well too?
Yes, I was and still am a big Httyd fan. Of the books, though, I've actually only managed the first volume as an audio... I'm currently slowly getting back into the ToA fandom after Shadowhunters magically captured me without mercy. The series and the books haven't let go of me since March... And since this (watching, reading, fanfic writing) eats up a lot of time in addition to everything else that's going on in life and unfortunately every day only has 24 hours, I've hardly been here on Tumblr in between... 🙈
