As someone who was really into newspaper comics when I was younger, I have to know Susan's opinions on them. Is she specifically a fan of the classics or does she like some of the newer ones, too? What are her feelings on Dilbert? Is it a "he just like me fr" or does she see it as a grim reflection of her own fate? Did she ever get into webcomics, especially ones that mimic newspaper comics?
She HATES Dilbert as it does not represent her as an office worker. Alien to her. Dilbert isn't even forced into time sensitive platforming challenges. She's a fan of the classics though, and she'd recommend Cul de Sac as a modern addition to the classic newspaper pantheon.

Omenpath Traveler Examples
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hiya folks, just wanted to pop in with a few examples for this week.
First, we have Tah-Crop Refugee from @mistershinyobject. This common is pretty much slated for death due to its stats, and it plays into that. Add to that the self-sacrificial nature of both the pre-Accounting of the Hours Amonkhet and the vikings in general/Tuskeri in specific on Kaldheim, and you have a morose point of view on the nature of life, death, and different planes. This is shown through the inclusion of both Snow, as well as Deserts.
Then, we have my example for this week, which takes a different path to depicting an interplanar adventure. Here in Transcend Urbanity, a Gruul warrior has abandoned the metropolis of Ravnica... and fallen head first into the metropolis of Capenna. He vows to take it down, while also taking some time for some cultural diffusion. Not everything about the city is bad, it seems. We see both the Gruul origins in a bloodthirst-like ability, and also the Treasures that signify the decadence of Capenna.
I'd also like to mention, although there's not an example shown, that the contest absolutely allows you to create legendary creatures similar to Troyan. In fact, currently existing characters aren't off the table, a fact that a few entrants have already noted with their submissions.
All in all, this contest allows for a lot of flexibility, so as long as you have fun and make sure to include mechanical references between the two planes implied, you'll be fine.
Talk to y'all later this week, ciao ciao for now! -@gollumni

What are your feelings on tofu? There's a ton of good tofu recipes like hot and sour soup or tofu scramble or stir fry (you don't need a wok).
tofu good if prepared well

Can chief engineer convoke out an arcum's astrolabe? Could a snow creature? And (out of curiosity) how would you convoke a colorless-cost creature like matter reshaper? Hope you don't mind these theoretical questions.
No and no and you can’t.
Convoke can only pay for generic and colored mana in a mana cost, and snow mana and colorless mana are neither of those things, so those costs can’t be convoked away.
The only way to pay a cost represented by the snow mana symbol is with mana from a snow permanent. Similarly, the only way to pay a specifically colorless cost is with colorless mana.

I just realized you use MTGGoldfish for your deckbuilding. They are like the only MTG stuff I follow off of tumblr. Do you like them?
I like that visual display they do. Other than that, I prefer tappedout for decklist management.

Forest ,Elvish Mystic; Mountain, Sylvan caryatid; Mountain, hordeling outburst, dragon tempest; land, Dragon Assault, game?
So long as your opponent doesn't do something rude like kill one of your creatures before Dragon Assault can resolve, this is indeed game.

My Phenax deck is having problems with tokens, but board wipes kill my important big-butt guys. Is there a card like black sun zenith that only lasts until end of turn? My guys can survive 5 -1/-1 counters but will be too weak to mill well.
Try Plague Wind. This doesn't touch creatures you control. :DCards like Engineered Plague will also be able to pinpoint which creatures get the -1/-1, saving your dudes. You can also try incorporating Massacre Wurm.
If the token strategies that bother you are white, try Massacre.
If the token strategies that bother you are green, try Nature's Ruin or Perish.

All the World's a Page Examples
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello contestants! Here's a few examples of lovely cards based on books!
First, @mistershinyobject has Capennan Railway, taken from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and it's depiction of an interstellar train system that gets used for orbital bombardment. This is a lovely merge between a useful Teleportation Circle and a wrath, elegantly getting across the flavor of using a tool like a weapon.
Next we have Brick In, by @stormtide-leviathan. For those not familiar with The Cask of Amontillado, a nobleman gets revenge on another by promising him with a cask of expensive and rare wine, only to subdue him and brick him into the wall. It's a cute removal spell, exiling while also making it card-advantage-neutral. I can see it being used for a cheeky trick like getting rid of something blocking a trampler.
Finally, we have my card, Battlepost Civilian. It's based off a character from the connected short stories of The Things They Carried who is shipped out to a quiet outpost in Vietnam to be with her high school sweetheart, before her interest in the war rises to the point of joining the green berets, getting a necklace out of some very unethically sourced materials, and disappearing into the jungle. I represented this by making a pseudo-leveller in the style of Figure of Destiny and company that gradually gains more aspects of green than white. A 3/3 lifelink vigilance seems like a real get in limited, and while it's certainly more geared to that side of gameplay, I can imagine someone putting this in their Commander deck as a pet card.
That's all I got for you right now, but I can't wait to see all your submissions. I'm sure they'll be great!

How does macabre mockery work with power-matters etb effects? I know reanimating a redcap will deal 4, but will reanimating an earthshaker khenra allow me to target a creature with power four? Will territorial boar get a trigger?
When you’re resolving any spell or ability, you follow its instructions in the order they’re written (as modified by any replacement effects). For Macabre Mockery, this means that the creature is returned to the battlefield and then gets +2/+0 and haste until end of turn. Anything that triggers from it entering the battlefield based on its power will see its initial power and not its boosted power, but the increased power will be in place by the time those triggers are put on the stack. This means that Earthshaker Khenra’s trigger will be able target anything with up to 4 power, but that same Khenra entering the battlefield won’t trigger Territorial Boar since it only had 2 power when it entered the battlefield.

As far as representation of PoC, remember to count more than just planeswalkers! Out of all the legendaries in Return to Ravnica block, all 20 of them, I believe Tajic was the only one and that's only if you can see the millimeter of un-armored skin. With the nearly 50-50 gender representation lately (exactly half the khans, half the PW in M15), I haven't noticed.
Another good point! I'll admit I'm getting a little nitpicky by just focusing on the Planeswalker cast, but they are one of the highest profile parts of the game.
