I have so many Thoughts about big sister Mitsuri. She meets Senjuro after a training session w Kyojuro and she instantly adores this shy, friendly kid. And Sen instantly adores her too, which confuses and delights Kyo bc Sen usually needs to warm up to ppl. RIP to everyone else, Mitsuri is built different.

I think she shows up at the Rengoku estate whenever tf she wants (Mitsuri is an agent of love and chaos she cannot be confined to a schedule) and always brings treats. Kyo and Sen always let her in and the three of them hang out on the engawa for hours. Senjuro teaches them how to ID birds. They find out Mitsuri is like weirdly good at imitating birdcalls. Kyo spends way too much time exploiting his hashira reflexes to catch lightning bugs. The sky is black by the time Mitsuri makes her way home.

Often she shows up with a basket of produce at lunch or dinnertime and helps make a meal with them. She even brought Shinjuro's portion to his room once (Kyo had a real bad fever, Sen was checking on him every 5min, and Mitsuri could tell Sen is afraid of his dad. So she's like uh yeah ok Sen you go put a fresh towel on Kyo's forehead and I'll bring the food to your dad ok? And Sen let her bc he trusts her).

Sometimes she tells Obanai to come over for lunch and once he gets to her place she's like "ok great you can take the lighter bag, I'll get the heavy one. We're walking to Kyo and Sen's place 💕✨"

Sen figures out, within the first like 2min of meeting the guy, that the way to talk to Obanai is to greet and ask after his snake first. So Obanai is thrown off guard in a good way? And he's weirdly docile for the whole meal. Mitsuri definitely makes fun of him later. Anyway after that Obanai happily joins Mitsuri on her randomly timed visits to the Rengoku residence. Not that he shows it. It's a pretty house and the food's not bad, that's all. Mitsuri stop looking at me like that, I don't CARE about the KID (Obanai absolutely cares about Sen's happiness and well-being).

for some reason tonight i cant stop thinking about different pairings for the infinity castle arc. what if shinobu had met akaza first, where she reminds him of poison-users, but he can't attack her due to her gender and her revenge wouldn't work on a demon who doesn't eat women? what if it was gyomei who met kaigaku, and genya with him seeing just how bad older brother figures could really be? or tanjiro and muichirou as a team meeting kokushibo, reminding him of yoriichi in different aspects of themselves. sanemi getting frustrated over douma's fake personality while giyuu takes no shit because he's so used to shinobu poking at him. iguro and yushiro finding each other first and sort of getting along because each of them worship a girlboss. mitsuri meeting inosuke and his loud personality who doesn't understand social norms, meaning he doesn't care that a woman is strangely strong. kanao meeting zenitsu against like nakime or someone where each of their heightened senses picks up fear from the other, and though they have multiple different reasons, one similar worry is failing those they love.

Not-very-spoilery thoughts on the movie release of Pillar Training (+SSV conclusion)

Behind a cut anyway just in case!

--Very nice to hear familiar background music brought back--Yuukaku themes when Uzui & his wives appear, Mitsuri's "Koi Kogare" BGM when she has a good batch of lines, Giyuu's BGM as he's like, "bye"

--I am very happy with the new OP, both sound and imagery-wise.

--One very short clip in particular made me, a fanfic writer, very very happy, but then there was more gratuitous focus that reminded me of another one of my best fanfics. The rewards of writing fic as closely based on canon as I could get them gives me the satisfaction of feel liking like canon-based imagery honors my fics by extension.

--Speaking of imagery in general, Ufotable is finding lots of ways to try to harp on the idea that everyone's wishes to destroy demons find their accumulation in Tanjiro, the Sun Breath user and first person in centuries to unlock the Mark. It is perhaps a little clumsy at times, but hey, that's a theme I like in this series.

--I was sad that Suma sounded so different, and had to look up afterward if she still had the same seiyuu. She does, but I think they might have given her totally different vocal direction so that she wouldn't sound too similar to Mitsuri

--Japanese crowds tend to be very quiet at movie theaters, but people could not contain their giggles at many of Mitsuri's lines

--I had the honor of sitting next to a huuuuuuuge fangirl who before the moving was saying stuff to her friends like, "(Hanae) Natsuki-san was at USJ the other day, and since it's a VR ride, you know, you have to wear the goggles, and I think, what if I wear the pair that he wore??? You know?? Our faces??? Would be so close?????" and then at the review of previous seasons at the beginning of the show, she started crying the instant the Mugen Ressha part started. Not loud crying, but crying.

--You can tell everyone was waiting for the "welcome back" scene, and although I thought Zenitsu would steal the show in that scene, it was indeed Nezuko. In the seiyuu greeting that was broadcast across all Japanese theaters on the opening day, Shimono-san noted that he thinks the audio was turned down on his performance of that scene. I think it was probably was too.

--So much happy daily life in this episode. If you have any friends who complained about last year's theater showing being a let-down because it was just regular anime episodes instead of a Mugen Train style movie, please tell them to just sit this one out and spare us their complaints. Most of this showing was just Tanjiro having a nice time after having a panic attack over Nezuko (oh, and like, killing Upper Moon Four, that too).

--Shinobu's hair seems distinctly longer. Giyuu's hair seems distinctly fluffier.

--Ufotable has put a lot of touches into humanizing Amane

--I wish Ufotable would stop trying to drive the "Zenitsu thinks Aoi is happy to see him (just because Aoi is a girl)" point. First off, yes, Zenitsu being a creep to girls is played up a bit in the anime. Second, the first fanbook states that the only kind of girl who is not so much his type is the Aoi-type.

--Also, on the promo art, I like the design they gave Shinobu's sword, but that's ignoring the fact that the four engraved kanji characters are on either side. Go ahead, Ufotable, hire me as your canon double-checker. EDIT: Oh wait, that is its sheath. Lovely, carry on.

--That said, the original filler they gave us? Gold star. Excellent. So happy with it. One... well, two tiny nitpicks that don't bother me much but stating it here would spoil it.

--One more non-spoilery thing to say about that filler: the people at Ufotable were probably like, "our fans are nerds. We already give them this, this, this, and that to nerd over. You know what else they are probably nerds for? Yeah. Let's give them that." Thank you, Ufotable. This nerd accepts and loved it.

--Tiny Nezuko filler as they set the stage talking about Muzan is probably looking for her? LOVE THAT TOUCH, at every level.

--Shinobu does have multiple goldfish, but they look a bit different?

--Genya's makes the best face in this whole episode

--Speaking of Genya, in the seiyuu greeting they had actors in big chibi costumes of the Kamaboko gang come out... PLUS GENYA. Giant chibi grumpy Genya was so, so, so, so freaking cute. Also, his seiyuu Okamoto got to join the stage with everybody and was talking about how he always used to scroll through his social media seeing the other seiyuu at KnY events and he was like, "sigh... sure looks like everyone is having fun..."

--Hanae Natsuki and his wife are big Genya fans, though, it seems

--Okamoto had a lot of trouble performing young Genya in the flashback, especially the emotional screaming. The desperation Genya always displays as he fights? That was Okamoto. --Meanwhile, Matsuoka always looks very overwhelmed at these things. I think having to embody the spirit of Inosuke terrifies him.

--IT WAS SO GOOD TO HEAR INOSUKE AGAIN

--Those actors in chibi costumes? The Zenitsu and Inosuke ones embodied them SO WELL. I don't usually care for those giant mascot character costumes, but these were legit so much fun to watch, like with Inosuke going right up into the cameras and Zenitsu trying to pull him back and then the two of them pushing and shoving. Zenitsu acting like he is being bullied and Inosuke showing off his muscles. I loved them. I am very sad that I will not be in town when they travel across Japan and come to my area.

--Also, the baritone voice of Oyakata-sama's personal crow? LOVED IT.

--Himejima at the the Pillar Meeting is such a statement. The new promotional material has a tag line that prominently uses one of the kanji in his name ("cry out"), and I feel like this is set-up for him to have a lot of impact later on in this season. Here's hoping!

--I am probably gonna go watch it again in a couple weeks, ufufufu

Tengen Uzui x Reader

“Have you ever been in love, (Y/n)?” Asked Mitsuri.

Tengen looks up from his seat. You and Mitsuri sat at a table by the window, a cup of tea in front of each of you. A bouquet of yellow abatinas sits in a vase, colouring the grey room. Tegen has always perfed more traditional flowers like Wisteria or Sakura but he isn’t one to judge.

It wasn’t often that pillars met up but they did happen to bump into each other every once in a while. Tegen had just finished a mission and was taking a brief break to write letters to his wives when you and Misturi stumbled in.

The two of you must have had missions in this area too.

“Love, huh?” You speak the word as if it's a foreign word that you’ve just heard for the first time. As though it’s something you’ve never thought of before. You lean back in your seat, your eyes meeting with Tengen’s briefly, before replying, “briefly.”

Mitsuri tilts her head to the side, “briefly?”

“Yeah,” you smile fondly, “I have quite the fickle heart after all. Isn’t that right, Tengen?”

The sound pillar suddenly feels frozen to the spot as Mitsuir turns to look at him. Her eyes are large and curious. Your eyes, on the other hand, look amused. As if you’ve been expecting something like this to happen.

A fickle heart. The very words he onced used when describing you once.

Back then you hadn’t taken the words nearly as well as you did now. Tegen supposes that’s how you’ve always been. Ever the most unpredictable one in the room.

Tengen shrugs, “I guess your feelings are rather unpredictable.”

“Really?” Mitsuri beams, “I feel like (Y/n) is the total opposite. She’s always so composed and calm.”

You smile, “thanks, Mitsuri!”

There’s a strange pang in Tengen’s chest and it makes him feel abnormally childish. His clothes feel weird and they don’t fit as smoothly as what he wore before. His arms and legs are almost sluggish, as if he’s been taken out of his own body and placed into that of another’s.

It was a special skill of yours, making him feel this way.

Huh.

When was the last time you’d managed to make him feel this way?

Last Time

“Wow! You’ve really grown, Tengen!” you smiled brightly, approaching the Breath of Sound user, “or maybe I should say Uzui. You’re a married man now, afterall.”

How can you smile like that so easily?

Guess he was right.

You really are like Abatinas.

“How are you, (Y/n)?” Tengen asks, his voice soft.

“Me, huh?” you make a gesture of scratching your chin as if you’re debating the answer. Tengen feels a small smile begin to form on his face. He knows you already have an answer. You always do. You just happen to like making a show of things for others.

“Well, I don’t see anyone else here named (Y/n).” Tengen replied.

“Are you sure about that?”

“Positive.”

You lean in towards him, too close for strangers but not close enough to elicit a scandal but just barely close enough for someone to see that there might be something more. There’s that look in your eyes that’s always made Tengen’s treacherous heart flutter. And oh, how he hates that feeling.

Eventually, you answer, “I’m doing as well as I can. How are you doing, Uzui?”

Tengen frowns, “you know, just because I’m married doesn't mean you can’t use my name.”

“Well,” you laugh, “if you insist, Tengen.”

His heart pangs and he absolutely abhors it.

Will you always have this sort of effect on him? Will it ever fade away or disappear? He supposes he’s given away too much of himself. Little by little and piece by piece. Tengen wonders if things would be different if only he hadn’t realised it after you.

He’s always been told that rather ‘late’ than ‘never’ but ‘late’ seems to bring nothing but pain and sadness. And Tengen, being the ever kind and gentle soul that he is, would rather have that sadness only kept within himself. Afterall, there is nothing to be gained but sadness and suffering.

After

“What are you looking at?” Tengen asks, taking a seat beside you.

You smile, “at something I’ll never have.”

“And what is it that you don’t have?”

Your eyes twinkle and unspoken words are shared. Neither of you are willing to say them; neither of you are willing to share; but both of you know the unshared message between you. Truthfully, Tengen wonders if your feelings have changed. He had once been so certain about you. About your feelings, thoughts and opinions yet he finds himself nothing more than a stranger as he stares at you.

“Are you excited?” You ask, breaking the silence.

Tengen shrugs, “it’s what my father wants.”

“You’re a good son.”

“You and my father have differing opinions on that fact.”

“And is that a good thing?”

Tengen smiles, “definitely.”

You chuckle a little before leaving back. Tengen feels his stomach flutter. This is what he’s always loved. You always seem to know the right times of when to be soft and playful or serious and cold. Not like him.

There’s a loose strand of hair on your face and he leans in. You catch his hand mid air.

“I…” Tengen turns away, “I’m sorry.”

“It’s alright.” The two of you sit awkwardly. Eventually you nudge him, “here,” holding the yellow flower out to him.

Tengen tried his best to smile, “Oh, thanks. These are Abatinas, right?”

You nod, “I noticed that they always seem to catch your eye.”

“That’s because they remind me of you,” said Tengen suddenly.

“Oh,” you flush, surprised. Heck, even he’s surprised at those words. Never once did he imagine saying something as intimate like that to you. The words almost feel foreign. You’re quick to recollect yourself as your surprised expression is replaced with a well practiced smile, “even more of a reason to give them to you. Remember me when I’m not here.”

And he absolutely will.

A part of him wants to pull you close towards him. He’s going to be married soon but he so desperately wants to tell you that he’d rather be marrying you then someone he doesn't know. That he’s always thought about you, even when you’re not here. Especially when you’re not here.

But he doesn't.

It’s not his place. It’s not his right.

Instead, Tengen watches as you turn around and walk away. You back disappearing into the distance.

Oh how he wishes to chase after you. Would you smile? Would you laugh and tell him that your feelings never changed?

Tengen would never know. But how could he? Afterall, he was the one who turned you down back then.

Then

“Tengen!” You beam brightly as you make your way towards him.

Tengen, who had been lazing around, felt a smile form on his face. That smile though is quick to disappear as the memory of his last encounter with you comes to mind.

“What’s wrong?” you ask.

“I guess I’m just wondering.”

“About what?”

He flushes, “you.”

“Oh?” You raise a brow, your interest sparked, “what about me.”

“How you feel about me.” admits Tengen.

“Well, that’s something I can help you with.”

“Is it?”

“Of course. I like you, Tengen.” you’re smiling with that smile that he’s certain many hearts have already fallen victim to and your eyes are twinkling in the way that always makes his heart flutter.

“I like you, too.” he replies, though he isn’t certain of exactly what he said. The blood pounding into his head is too loud and he’s suddenly dizzy.

“No,” you take his hands into your own, “I like, like you.”

And he finds himself at a loss for words.

He wants to say yes. Truly. But you’re much too like Abatinas. Much too distant and ever changing for him to allow his heart to settle.

At one point in your lives, Tengen felt as though he knew you. Felt as though there was a part of you and him that were the same. The two of you had gone through similar experiences as children and become such samilair people as adults. But the image of you in his mind was but an image. Nothing but an imagined version of the person he thought you were.

He wants to smile.

He wants to take your hand in his own.

He wants to be with you.

But he can’t. He won’t ever allow himself to.

“(L/n),” Tengen turns away from you, “please don’t say things you don’t mean. Your heart is light and you shouldn’t be bound to someone like me.”

“My heart is light? I’m insincere?” you ask, your eyes staring deeply into his own.

Tengen nods, removing his hands from your own.

He can’t see your expression but he imagines its a sad one. An expression he’s all too familiar with yet has never seen on your face before.

Perhaps if this had been before, his answer might have been different.

Before

After just finishing a mission, Tengen found himself wanting nothing more than to fall asleep. Who would have thought that becoming a demon slayer would be just as hard as being a ninja? Certainly not him.

His father would likely laugh at him.

This was not the path Tegen had chosen for himself. A shining beacon of his rebellion and if he were to back out now he would likely never hear the end of it.

“Oh, really?” someone’s voice rumbles through the walls. It isn’t someone Tengen is familiar with.

“Of course.” another voice responds. His heart flutters at that.

It’s you.

His previous exhaustion seems to have suddenly been extinguished. His heart is now pounding and his head feels lighter than it has in ages.

“(Y/n)!” Tengen exclaims, opening the door.

“Oh, hi Tengen.” you say. Your eyes don’t meet with his own.

“Oh, who’s this, (Y/n)?” asks the man beside you.

You beam brightly at him, “he’s a friend from the demon slayer corps.”

“Really? I can tell!” the man beside you leans in close towards you and whispers into your ear, “he’s very buff.”

“What are the two of you doing?” Tengen asks, feeling a bout of embarrassment.

“Oh, we were just looking around for the kitchen. This lad over here promised me he’d teach me how to cook Takoyaki!” You explained.

Tengen feels a lump in his throat as he asks, “can I come?”

You shrug, “I suppose if you want to.”

“Of course you can come.” replies the man beside you.

You give the man a smile.

It isn’t your dismissive words that send a pang through Tengen’s chest. He’s never been overly sensitive to what people have said and their moods. It’s the way you smile at the man. It’s the same smile you had given to him back then. It’s the same smile he thought reserved strictly for himself.

“Actually, you know what, I think I’m going to try and sleep.” Tengen retreats back into the room, “I just finished a mission after all.”

“Okay.” you answer.

Tengen finds it quite suitable that you carry around Abatinas. You’re quite like them, after all.

Back

“Have you ever taken a leap of faith?” You ask, leaning towards Tengen, a bored expression on your face.

Tengen chuckles, “no, I can’t say I have.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“That can’t be true!”

“Why not?”

“Because you fit the persona of a rebellious teenager much too well! And every rebellious teenager has done something requiring faith.”

“Faith?”

“In other people.”

Tengen laughs, “and what does Faith have to do with rebellious teenagers?”

“Isn’t it obvious? Because rebellious teeangers are attempting to break away from their parents they suddenly find themselves in a strange position. Positions where they need to rely on other people if they hope to succeed.” You explain, “and success in a new environment isn’t possible if you don’t have other people you can rely on.”

“And I suppose you know this because you’ve relied on people before?”

“No actually. I’ve always followed the path my father laid out for me.”

“Well, aren’t you a good kid?”

“Apparently~”

“Say, why do you carry Abatinas around?” asked Tengen.

You smiled, “because I think they’re pretty.”

“Is that all?”

“Do I need another reason why?”

“No,” Tengen’s heart fluttered as his eyes met with yours, “I guess not.”

Now

“Have you ever been in love, Tengen?” Mitsuir asked.

“Of course.” replies Tengen.

“Really!” The love pillar’s eyes gleam with interest, “how did it end?”

“Horribly sad.”

“Why?”

“Because it wasn’t meant to last forever.”

“Would you choose to love them again if you had the choice?” You ask.

And now it’s Tengen’s turn to have a knowing smile, “of course.”

You smile back.

There isn’t the same expressive gleam that the two of you share anymore. There’s no longer a spark. But that’s okay.

Does your heart ever still flutter the same way he did? The same way he does?

He supposes he’ll never know.

The quiet, soft-spoken man that sits on trees rather than the ground is attached to you by the hip. He’s a friendly person, just not someone you would approach at first. Perhaps it was the way he secluded himself in high places. Or it was the way he would always stick by your side, plucking away at the leaves that were tangled in your hair. Whatever the reason, every hashira knew that once he appeared in the picture with you, it was best to leave you alone.

He tries not to make it obvious when your love for others transcend him. He would gnaw the bottom of his lip, staring off into anything but your conversation with Gorou and Heizou. You were gushing about how “cool” they looked in their recent expedition to the mountains, and how much they inspired you when you were training. Leaning against the trunk of a tree, he lets out a deep sigh. He knows that you admire their passionate energies. And he has come to accept that perhaps you might never look his way. 

But that isn’t true, you would say to Kokomi, standing up from the table and knocking her cup of tea to the ground. The water hashira has always teased you about your close relationship with him. But teasing you about how he doesn’t feel worthy of you was the final straw. Pressing your lips tightly together you whined about how you were too nervous to confess to the maple-eyed man. 

He’s a great man. A reliable one, you would add. He comments that your hair color is nothing short of beautiful and that whoever rejected you for marriage is a fool. A strong partner with ambition, how could you not love someone like this? A very kind-hearted one that would always stay with you even during the darkest of nights. Comforting you that no matter how strong you may be, there might be someone who would be your equal. And although he may never say it, he wishes it would be him. 

He goes out of his way to share his lunches with you. He might not be the best at cooking but the way you smile at the sight of your favorite food makes him swallow his feelings. He can’t resist staring deeper into the sparkles that shine within those irises. It pains him when you talk about the time you tried to eat less to appeal to suitors. Yet it also pushes him to encourage you to be yourself. 

He wants you to know that you should never compromise yourself for someone else. He loves you the way you are. Even if you eat through a mountain of rice, or cut down trees with relative ease, he will always look at you with those love-struck eyes that every hashira envies. He’ll be the strongest amongst the group if it means you’ll continue to look at him.

So when the demons are culled back to hell, would you take him as your husband?

As the night wore on, the atmosphere grew livelier. Laughter and animated conversations filled the air as everyone all enjoyed each other's company. Kanae and Shinobu were engrossed in their own conversation, their smiles lighting up their faces. They seemed to be catching up on each other's lives, sharing stories and laughing at inside jokes.

Meanwhile, Gyomei, with his gentle demeanor, was surrounded by his beloved cats. It was a common sight in his residence, as he had a deep affection for feline companions. The cats were happily nestled on his lap and shoulders, seemingly enjoying his comforting presence.

Mitsuri and Obanai, known for their close bond, were cuddling together. Their affectionate gestures reflected their deep connection, and they seemed content just being in each other's arms. The love and warmth they shared were evident to everyone around them.

Uzui and you sat together, savoring the taste of sake and engaging in lively conversation. Uzui, with his flamboyant personality, regaled you with tales of his recent missions and exploits.

While Muichiro leaned against your back, feeling his presence and the warmth between you. While he was absorbed in his phone, he occasionally interrupted his gaming sessions to show you something amusing, eliciting shared laughter between the two of you. Despite being engrossed in playing games, but he still listened attentively to the ongoing conversation.

It amazed you how Uzui effortlessly polished off bottle after bottle without showing any signs of intoxication. You chuckled to yourself, realizing that despite your decent alcohol tolerance, you were no match for the impressive drinking prowess of Uzui. The sight of him downing yet another bottle made you sweat drop in disbelief.

On the other hand, you took small, measured sips of your drink, aiming to maintain your composure throughout the evening. While you could handle alcohol relatively well, you didn't want to risk losing control or becoming too intoxicated.

Your conversation with Uzui carried on amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the night. The air was filled with cheerful chatter, creating a warm ambiance for everyone. Uzui's eyes caught sight of your empty cup, and he promptly grabbed the opportunity to refill it.

"You should drink more, Y/n. We don't often have the chance to go out like this," Uzui suggested, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.

You couldn't help but sweat drop, realizing your inability to deter him as he poured the contents to the brim, filling your cup once again. With a nervous chuckle, you glanced at the full cup, unsure of how much more you could handle.

Muichiro noticed your hesitation, gently setting his phone aside as he rested his chin on your shoulder. "You don't have to push yourself, Y/n. Let Uzui get drunk by himself." he said, playfully sticking his tongue out at the ninja who responded with a twitch of his eye.

In contrast to you and Uzui, Muichiro had opted for drinking juice instead. Despite being of legal drinking age, he chose not to partake in alcohol. You weren't aware of the specific reason behind his abstinence, but you speculated that it could be due to a personal preference or perhaps he simply didn't enjoy the taste of sake.

As you reached out to grab your drink, your hand accidentally collided with Muichiro's, who was preoccupied with his phone and not paying attention to where his hand was going.

"Ah, sorry," he mumbled apologetically, glancing up at you.

You smiled, understanding that it was an innocent mistake. "Ahaha, it's alright, no need to worry," you reassured him, realizing that you had inadvertently grabbed the cup closest to him, assuming it was his, in an attempt to rectify the situation.

Both you and Muichiro took a sip from the cup simultaneously, expecting the familiar taste of sake, you were taken aback by the unexpected burst of sweetness that flooded your taste buds. The unusual flavor caused you to choke slightly, caught off guard by the unfamiliar sensation.

"Wh— This isn't mine," you muttered, puzzled, you brought the cup closer to your nose, trying to identify the source of the sudden sweetness. As you inhaled, the aroma confirmed your suspicions—it wasn't sake in the cup. Blinking in confusion. Then, it dawned on you, and you quickly turned your back, almost snapping your head in the process.

"M-Mui, I think our cups got switched—" you faltered when you noticed that he had already consumed the contents of the cup, the liquid completely gone. Your voice trailed off, realizing that he had inadvertently drunk the sake intended for you.

Muichiro's eyes widened in realization, his gaze fixed on the empty cup before him. He resembled an innocent child, blinking in surprise at his unintentional mistake. Silence lingered for a moment as both of you processed the situation, the realization sinking in.

“M-Mui…?” Your voice trembled with concern as you called out to him.

Panic surged through you as you watched Muichiro gulp down the entire contents of the cup in one go, a drink that you knew contained a much stronger alcohol content than what he was used to. Uzui, however, seemed thoroughly entertained by the unfolding scene, his amusement evident in his eyes and mischievous smile.

"Oi, Tokito," Uzui called out, snapping his fingers in front of Muichiro, his attempts to get Muichiro's attention were met with indifference, as if Muichiro was in a trance-like state. "WOI." Or that he was being deliberately ignored.

"M-Muichiro?" you called out instead, it was only when you called out his name that he finally snapped out of his daze, his gaze shifting towards you. The realization hit that he seemed to respond only to your voice, tuning out the others around him.

"...?" Muichiro tilted his head in response, a silent communication passed between you. His action seemed to convey that he had indeed heard you, despite his lack of verbal response.

The unspoken connection between you intrigued and captivated you, as you found yourself drawn to this side of him that was both unusual and endearing.

As the effects of the alcohol took their toll on Muichiro, it became evident that he was indeed drunk. However, unlike the typical behavior associated with drunkenness, Muichiro didn't start rambling or behaving erratically. Instead, he maintained a semblance of his usual self, albeit in a slightly airy and dazed state.

His demeanor seemed almost ethereal, as if he were in a world of his own, disconnected from the immediate surroundings. His usually focused and composed nature took on a dreamlike quality, giving him an otherworldly aura.

You observed him closely, noting the subtle changes in his behavior and mannerisms. Despite being under the influence, Muichiro appeared to retain a sense of calmness and tranquility, his actions carrying a certain grace even in his altered state.

“Y/n, try to hold out your hand.” Curiosity piqued, you complied with Uzui's suggestion and held out your hand, not fully aware of his intentions but willing to play along.

“What now?” Opening your hand, you turned back to Uzui, awaiting further instructions.

Before you could fully process what was happening, you felt a warm hand being placed on top of yours. Startled by the unexpected sensation, you instinctively jolted back, momentarily taken aback. You looked down to find Muichiro's hand resting innocently on top of yours, his gaze fixated on the connection between your hands.

A small, grin played on your lips as you couldn't help but find the situation endearing. Muichiro, in his drunken state, resembled a puppy, obediently following the cues and gestures of those around him. The image brought a surge of warmth and affection, and you had to cover your grin with your other hand to prevent it from showing.

The comparison between Muichiro and a puppy filled your mind, evoking an overwhelming sense of adorableness. His innocent and trusting nature, combined with his dazed demeanor, seemed to mirror that of a loyal canine companion. It was a thought that both amused and delighted you. Biting back the urge to let out a squeal of delight at the sight.

The mischievous glint in Uzui's eyes became apparent, and a knowing smile played on his lips as he observed the unfolding scene. He had likely orchestrated this moment.

“You look like you’re enjoying yourself there, Y/n.” Uzui playfully taunted, taking a sip from his cup.

“S-Shut up…” You muttered; your voice slightly muffled as you tried to suppress the widening grin on your face. Muichiro's unexpected compliance and departure from his usual icy and impassive self-had caught you off guard, and you couldn't help but find it endearing.

The fact that Muichiro, in his drunken state, seemed so readily responsive and willing to follow your lead only added to the amusement and warmth you felt. It was as if the alcohol had unlocked a side of him that rarely made an appearance.

As Muichiro's tranquil, wide eyes met yours, his soft minty gaze seemed to hold a gentle curiosity. I love your Demon Slayer Sanji AU! I really want to see the strawhat reaction of the demon slayer corps and how the corps react to Zoro being half demon. This crossover AU actually remind me of my own crossover AU that I like to think in my head, it's about the non devil fruit users have a vision like in the genshin impact and Sanji got the cyro ever since he escape from Germa because cyro is given to those who have been shaped by their misfortune or something like that.

Straight up I was working on that before my week went to shit(rip to my productivity) and I have NO clue what genshin impact is. I dissociate to stardew valley.

But Tanjiro!Sanji taking the strawhat crew to meet the corps and Mihawk is there as the water breathing hashira? God could you imagine if Rengoku is there? GOD, anyway.

Sanji groaning as he sees Mihawk and several other members of the corps after they all decide to meet on some island. Sanji just having his sword ripped from him and inspected by Mihawk and another corps member debating on whether or not to call a smith which makes Sanji pale. Rengoku rattling off to Sanji about his breathing techniques since they can both fire breathe. Kanroji is begging Sanji to cook and Sanji is having flashbacks to his days as a corps member watching her slam back so much food she might eat more than Luffy and he's not even sure that's possible.

Then someone says Zoro smells bad and Mihawk says it's because he doesn't bathe as he looks at Sanji and apologizes because he tried to make Zoro bathe more but then Sanji says Zoro is a half demon and a king of hell. The Demon Corps is staring at the crew with hands on their swords. Sanji is standing in front of Zoro in a "stop" pose to the members and is like "NO KILLING THE SWORDSMAN OF THE STRAWHATS OR LUFFY WILL KILL US ALL!" and the corps slowly moves their hands away from their swords.

Zoro has to explain what the fuck is going on. He has to answer questions. The demon corps is still debating on whether or not to kill him until he says he helped kill that kid Sanji was fighting. Sanji yells at him that it was an upper rank demon and he's a shitty king of hell if he doesn't know what they're talking about. Zoro yells back that he doesn't fucking reside in hell and his demon form is for fighting and he rarely uses it.

Robin has to be so interested in the history and the breathing techniques and Chopper has to be wanting to run tests on them. Rengoku and Kanroji agree easily. Their Sanji's friends and "please call me Kyojuro and this is Mitsuri!"

"Please use our first names!" So they just do a bunch of tests and demonstrations and they answer Robin's questions about the history and secrecy seeing as she is the only survivor of Ohara she can be trusted and such. Mihawk is the defacto leader and so his permission is granted for all of these and he even mentions Sanji growing his hair out since he started at Baratie and Sanji shrugs and says his eyebrows make him noticeable enough having his bright red birth mark that looks like a burn might draw more demons to him and not just pirates like he's focusing on. Mihawk agrees easily to that point and Sanji has started cooking at some point and is making the biggest pot of noodles he can as well as rice and so much food because he knows how hashira eat but Kanroji is an exception because she eats like Luffy.

"So what's the plan now?" Sanji asks as Rengoku keeps yelling tasty after each bite and Kanroji is just shoveling like Luffy.

"Well, you should come back to the corps or have another member join the crew for the forseeable future if it is him." Mihawk says. "You have your pick of these two or I can send someone else soon."

"I'll choose someone else, no offense to you both but having a hashira aboard might cause more trouble." Sanji says.

"I take offense! I feel like Mitsuri and I would be excellent additions to the crew!" Rengoku smiles at him.

"I don't, I get it, I think I've eaten more than your captain." Kanroji says eyeing the stack of bowls between her and Luffy.

"Then I will join the Strawhat crew in your stead Mitsuri!" Rengoku nods.

"What do you think about this, Captain?" Robin smiles at Luffy.

"Why not, sounds fun!" Luffy smiles. Mihawk chuckles as Sanji groans and Kanroji whines and holds onto Sanji and claims she'll miss him and threatens Rengoku into writing.
