Mizutani / Les Rallize Denudes (featured)
It wouldn’t be Omega WUSB’s bonus Rising Sun showcase without the ultimate legends of Japanese psych- and noise rock. For that, we reached for “People Can Choose” off of Heavier Than A Death In The Family (2002). It blew my mind how recklessly dangerous it sounded. For ten minutes-plus straight you’ll hear “People Can Choose” barreling down steep slopes on a wild chase with no consideration for other people’s safety or loss of hearing. A monstrous groove with an unstoppable titanic momentum weighing an unnumerable number of tons flies so hard that somehow it still survives disintegrated as it’s still alive, burned with all the scorching hiss, fried feedback, and torched static. How in the improbable fuck that anyone is still alive after this one is beyond all logic.
