I was wondering... Although I suppose it may be a very broad question... But, how did you learn to make amigurumis? Do you use any patterns for the body parts, do you make some yourself, do you just freehand it?

Hey, Lorei! I'm very glad that you like my work! ^^ It means a lot to me!

I already used to make small pieces of clothing and crochet accessories before. It had always been like this: I followed YouTube videos or written patterns, and then adapted them in case I wanted something different.

That's the case with amigurumi as well. When I decided I wanted to learn how to create dolls, I first took a quick Domestika course just to get the basics of it, then I did some dolls following patterns, and soon I started to adapt and create what I needed to personalize the doll.

In Keith's case, his base body was adapted from this free pattern (in ES). I created his hair and his clothes (and it took a lot of time figuring out some parts lol). For his eyes, I used this technique (in PT) because I like how glass eyes look, it's basically nail polish and glass cabochon.

If you (or anyone who's reading) is interested in learning how to make amigurumi, I fully support it! I think it's a lot of fun and very rewarding to create your own dolls.

I recommend start practicing the basic crochet stitches if you never did crochet before (especially single crochet stitch, which is the most used, but you'll see it's pretty easy). Then follow some tutorials on YouTube or patterns if you learn how to read them. Many artists make free videos and patterns, so it's easy to find pretty and interesting things to do. Eventually you'll get how some things are made, and will feel more comfortable creating your own, personalized dolls. Following crochet artists is also very useful for inspiration and tips.

It is a fun process to try to figure out how to replicate some character's designs, especially Ikemen characters that are so unique and full of details. I personally love it!

Anyway, I had to handle some dispute in Oshu, so that is why I am writing to you. Even if I can not personally speak to you, I still want to keep in touch with my favorite lass through letters! Not being able to keep in touch with you for too long a period of time drives me a bit crazy, so here you are, a letter written straight from me!

How have you been doing? Have you managed to add another animal to your doll collection? What kind of animal would it be this time? You know, if you want to go searching for more, I think Ieyasu might be able to help you with that. He likes to pretend like he doesn’t care, but the lad really does have a big heart. Plus, its fun to mess with him, heh heh.

Speaking of which, I have prepared you some sweets I made personally so you do not miss me and my sweetness much. They are in the boxes sat on your desk, the ones that are blue. They even have a dragon on it so you can add it to the rest of your dragon collection.

I know you are missing me just as much as I am missing you, so I need you to make me a promise. Smile even when I am not there. Go out and explore the town. Maybe even practice on your horseback riding so we could ride together when I come back. I would love to challenge you to a race.

Make sure to live your life to the fullest, and live it with no regrets! I will be back before you know it, and I will be bringing back with me a whole lot of affection, a kiss for every hour we are apart, so look forward to that as much as I am!

So I found this amazing picrew and it needs so much love??? Like, I can't speak for the amount of POC representation, but I feel like it's much more inclusive than a lot I've seen. There's the option for a character to have a bindi, hijab, turbans, Star of David necklaces, cross necklaces, and the HAIR options! Also disability inclusivity with the option for adding hearing aids and a wheel chair?? I'm in love and I'm going to make so many of my OCs in this. OH AND THE BODIES! Fat bodies! Bodies that aren't just thin. And faces that have double chins. And clothes that fit them!

Djarn really needs so much credit for this maker. I'm gonna see if I can't find a place they post regularly and tag it/link it once I find it here!

I've seen a couple of people so this and wanted to say a few words as well.

Tumblr dot com is the first and only place where I learned online connections can change lives so much or be so genuine. It's never about numbers. Each blog breathes life of the unique person behind it. So many colorful personalities brought together...

And we've been through a lot.. the great bot purge of 20', the AO3 siege, the battle of Halloween on Christmas eve, Auburn shipping wars....

I never knew I could know such friendship. I wish I could tuck in each one of my moots and give you a goodnight kiss, a hug when you're in a dark place, and scream into the void together about our interests (because what am I if not an enabler :) )

You've changed my life in so many ways and you have no idea

My wonderful artist friends, I've wondered how can the same hands that create such disaster (affectionate) manage such breathtaking art @clavissionary-position

- Born in Rhodolite, closer to the southeast, In a town almost entirely made up of farmers

- Circumstances lead to her just leaving home super young, hitching a ride with some vintners who’d only been passing though town and were headed to a farmers market.

- Ended up staying with said vintners, they put her to work tho.

- When they had to go she wanted to stay in the capital because there weren’t any big libraries a walking distance from where they were going. Found out she did NOT like being alone.

- ‘hitchhiked’ away. Ended up on a random boat. Was really bad with harpoons. Can’t swim. Still can’t.

- when she asked them to teach her to swim they said ‘No. Just don’t fall in’ so she didn’t fall in.

- Ended up migrated to Tanzanite by her late teens early twenties. Since she is extremely receptive to any and all attention praise community she naturally gravitated toward the people who dedicated their time to follow Azel around. He likes that she can strip fruit really fast.

(small note; - She does genuinely believe in Azel though, she can’t think of a reason believe a god wouldn’t want to be incarnated.)

I’ve drawn her on my blog in the past but she’s always with Keith so she’s always got a stupid silly blank blissed out blank happy face so random info__

- For routes i always have a first Phase where her names Dimitri and then she gets called Demelza be because I’ve done that since forever, Demelzas her real name though.

- I consider her to be an Egotist, not at the expense of anybody and in such a small scale that its probably not all that different in practice then Altruism. But its still there. Because my oc’s need to suffer under the weight of their minds a little

- She fidgets with her gloves, Pinches the skin underneath, Pulls them up against her wrists, Rolls her fingers into the fabric of them.

- Extremely sentimental, still hums Oh my Darlin’ Clementine like the Ladies would while they were working whenever she’s focused. Still likes to watch people cook. Still a little comforted by the sound of crickets from a distance. Very regimental

- Good with first aid. Knows which plants are antibacterial/anti inflammatory + works as a great bandage. Had to adapt to different materials in Tanzanite.

- Good at Playing things off, her caretakers never knew much about her because she’s good at avoiding the truth. As for lying shes got too many tells.

- Overall more of a River then a Lake. Faster moving, ebbs and flows. Extremely aware of the emotions she’s having.

- Demelza (last name was Aster but im considering changing it just because that goes WAY back to when I was using her as a MYSTIC MESSENGER oc so)

also heres a better edit of her face. I’d changed some parts because it made sense geometrically but did it make sense within my heart 🤔 ? no- it did not.

#also Meta lore is that theres a split between the belle ending and the azel ending entirely dependent on whether she goes to tanzanite #because shes still an oc i put in place of belle in my head and there MUST be a rationale #‘hop in line gentlemen this azel thing can’t last forever hehe. too damn cold.

his expression distorted into one of fierce displeasure, wrinkling even the sharp lines of his marks to give them grated, wiggled edges. those nimble fingers pressed hard against a large, hot mug with malicious intent to suck the warmth out of its ceramic walls. the dark hue of his fingernails skilfully hid little frosty glimpses of ghostly blues that would have further emphasised the way winter weather chewed at him. despite his body being an epitome of utter sublimity, he could not help but vaguely desire to be that one squishy little marshmallow floating about the surface of hot cocoa.

sukuna rubbed his feet together, yearning to merge the feather-light blanket with his skin. he found that the way he clenched his jaw and grinded his teeth did not aid him in any way — it frustrated him all the more. what felt like dryness in his joints and knuckles had barely begun to evaporate. painfully slowly. an overwhelming, unwelcome urge to doubt the allegedly vast proportions of his patience arose and made him bite his cheek. has a little frost truly managed to best him so easily? the title of disgraced one suddenly didn’t sound so flattering. with his lips pursed out into something akin to a pout, he brought the brim of the mug closer to his mouth. the way in which steam caressed his face was divine. however, the way he hissed, jerked and nearly spilled hot cocoa all over was everything but refined.
