if i wanted to start one piece but could not emotionally handle the thought of watching all 1,038 episodes, where could i start?

You could try the manga! it's a faster experience if you don't mind reading

otherwise, if you are a pure anime watcher then one piece is a continuous plot series, jumping into the middle of it isn't really super recommended without starting from the beginning

so if you want to start from episode 1- then good news! you don't have to watch all 1038 episodes! there's a lot of filler in between arcs that you can skip, and a helpful site to use for the second half of the series (if you decide to keep going!)

using the episode wiki is a good way to keep track of which episodes are filler (skippable) and which are canon

the very first filler arc doesnt start until episode 54, and it's about 7 episodes long

in total there's about 84 filler episodes that can be skipped without worrying about missing canon events

if you're still watching by the time dressrosa rolls around, i'd recommend switching to One Pace, made by a group of people who edit episodes to match the manga's pacing because around this point it starts to slow down to a... very noticeable level (switching will save you SO many hours)

I usually only prefer One Pace for when the massive battles break out because i like to watch the extra little scenes of the strawhats goofing off lol, it really just depends on your own preferences! the option is there

#one piece #also if you're asking yourself ''how do i know if i will like it?''#the best fandom-wide response would be to watch through the arlong park arc #it's one of the best east blue arcs and the reason that people stuck to this series like glue #but if you finish it and you're still iffy or meh about the series then it miiiight not be your thing #or maybe it will be? who can say for sure #i personally think once you get past the drum arc you're here for good because everything after is mmmMMMMMMM #so good #but that's like a 30-40 episode difference LOL #but yeah either read the manga or kinda test the waters with the anime #also yes i realize how insane it sounds to go ''oh you dont have to watch ALL 1k+ episodes! you can skip about 80 of them :)''#80 next to 1000 seems so small but it is. so much.#that said the G8 arc is worth a watch despite it being a filler

Do they shower? Weirdly detailed :)

Yuuji: yes! And suprisingly he IS very particular about his hygiene. Like he does use soap and and a washcloth and makes sure that everything is clean. Lowkey I think he sweats a ton and he is quite socially aware so he wouldn't want to be embarrassed about smelling badly around others and make them feel awkward as well

Megumi: girl he will show you that you actually DONT know how to shower. This man uses some techniques and products you have never even thought of. He also takes frequent baths with cute oils and salts and just soaks cuz it's good for his muscles (he likes the warmth of it cuz he is too shy to ask for a hug)

Nobara: lowkey, I think she showers like twice a week (to each their own) but she never smells bad or has any other problems but I can 100% see her shaming you for not showering like everyday/every other day even though she doesn't do that herself hahahaha average nobara based moment

Also she is a brush teeth, do skincare and solve world hunger, beef with imaginary scenario everything all at once in the shower kinda gal

She does fuck heavily with her skincare and haircare routine tho. Like don't fight her on that shit.

prewar, anything that made her feel like more than a grade/than her status, would make her feel so connected with her partner. Them seeing her as her and not just her spot on the deans list. it was always hard for her to form relationships with people when she was young because she always felt like the playing field was uneven.

and for postwar, its pretty much the same, but instead of a grade, its being more than her past and misery. someone that can look past her pain and nurture her optimistic side thats buried suuuuper deep inside lol

she will absent mindedly get drinks or food for people when at home or in a communal space lol if her and Deacon are home for the night or shes with Seymour at his place, she'll get up and get food and just bring them something too, without asking lol its like an instinct to her. and most of the time they dont even realize that theyre hungry or thirsty but then there she is with sustenance

she bounces her leg a lot when deep in thought or will click a pen top in and out over and over again when shes writing stuff lol

she very much tries to keep everything inside always due to the ~trauma~ but if shes feeling particularly overcome with emotion, she will just start uncontrollably sobbing, much to her embarrassment lol but when she is with someone, she tries to be open and honest about everything, she just hates feeling like every time she opens her mouth its to talk about sad stuff

Okayy i am BACK from watching spiderman 2, Every single scene Octavious was in was lovely, he is amazing, but god that movie is not interesting-

I dont mind rewatching no way home againd and again because its good outside of the villains, sm2 is just... eh, too much love ig? Its just kinda annoying lmfao

I will defo rewatch it simply for Octavious but I think I will write down when he is on screen and simply skip everything else

Also oof that CGI for Octavious- Not hating because its 2004 and for that time? amazing. BUT wow sometimes they did pretty close shots of his face when in CGI and like- mmm

It was so weird bc the actuators are actual puppets for like 89% of the shots and the action shots are shit CGI? So it was such a duality of "wow that looks great interacting with the sorroundings" and "mmmmmmmmmm"

Kinda wished he also had more screentime? Imo it was jsut too conflict-that-isnt-Doc-Ock heavy?? Telling Aunt may, aunt may moving out, MJ, everything about MJ, just so fucking much MJ, hey guys did you know MJ was his love intrest? Yeah but guys, guys have you hear that MJ is the love intrest???? And and Harry is his best friend but that is never shown he always hates on Peter?? AND MJ is his love intrest!!

Just wanted more Octavious screen time that wasnt ass CGI </3
