For the ones who don't know what it means:

Asexuality is defined as an orientation for people who feel little to no sexual attraction for any gender.

P.S.: Asexual ≠ Aromantic. Some aces don't feel romantic attraction (more known as Aromantic Asexuals or just aroaces) but both labels have different meanings. There are aces who wish to fall in love and be in a romantic relationship (they can identify themselves as homoromantic, heteromantic, biromantic, panromantic, etc.).

P.S. 2: There's an asexual spectrum for those aces who find themselves in the gray area of asexuality. This group includes aces who feel a small level of attraction, those who feel it rarely or only in very specific conditions and those whose identity fluctuates from time to time between strictly asexual and allosexual.

If frozen can get three movies and tangled is allowed a tv show and the first 8 princesses (sans Pocahontas) can get numerous remakes & spinoff media, then moana can get a sequel and PATF can get a show. Keep in mind tangled came out a year after PATF & completely overshadowed it & frozen is still popular compared to moana. So yes Tiana deserves her own show and theme ride Moana deserves a sequel and raya and wish deserve second chances.

Honestly, the people who say that Asha and Isabela look alike... I'm Latina myself and I really can't help but find that take incredibly racist. Like, maybe from a distance, yeah, but even animation styles aside, Asha has freckles, braids on one side and cornrows on the other, etc... Even her dress is very different from the one Isabela wears at the end of Encanto. Maybe you could argue some inspiration was taken, but even then, the similarities are only just barely there. The only thing they have in common is that they both have long hair!

But didn't you know? These two brown-skinned girls with different eye shapes and colors, nose shapes, lip shapes, skin colors, very different dresses, and hair parted on the same side totally look alike!!!! /s.

It doesn't help that our very first look at Asha didn't exactly show her off at all, with the sneak peak at the D23 Expo being:

Her mostly facing away from the audience, looking off into the distance, under a tremendously tinted blue light for some reason.

Oh and then there's another person I saw claiming that Asha was a repeat of Moana's face model, which... no.

Moana's eyebrows are more squared like Isabela's, and while she has a rounder nose like Asha, Moana's lips look more like Isabela's. She doesn't have the same face shape as Asha either, or freckles.

I want to first state that I have no feelings about the Moana sequel one way or the other. Do I like that everything is remakes and sequels right now? No. But it was remakes and sequels when I was a kid too so what room do I have to call the movies for kids today "repetitive"?

With that said: if I see one more person imply that the Moana sequel could have no plot because the first movie resolved the story or that it's just gonna do the same things over again... as if it's not based on a whole ass culture with its own complete ass mythology of stories they could draw from I'm gonna pull my hair out.

There is so much that could be done even if that specific plot point did resolve. When you graduate high school your life doesn't end just because your primary school education plotline resolved. There can be more to a life than a single plotline in a world full of stories waiting to be found.

That being said. Disney, you better NOT just use the plotlines of the first film to fuel the second and ignore all of that mythology. I have a SHRED of faith left in this company's ability to tell stories. Please reach a little higher than the lowest hanging fruit this time.
