I need to know... What were your thoughts on possessed Jade? Because the fact that he and Floyd were practically identical in personality shows me how much Jade is hiding under a mask. Now I know it was supposed to be the opposite of what he is, but what if those possessions just removed the filters of a person? Basically, freeing them of their 'mask' and letting their otherselves take control?
I'm thinking about it more in Persona terms, but I thought it was interesting. I don't know if you know the Persona series but it's an interesting one to combine with Twisted Wonderland since it's all about the psyche of a person, and accepting parts of yourself.
Putting my reply under the cut because it became a little long. Please forgive my ramblings.
Possessed Jade is a delight that made me realize Jade could very well act like that if he so pleases, but he’s a coward who chooses to be a prim and proper (secretly devious) gentleman instead. It’s like how Floyd does eerily good impressions of Jade. Jade could easily act like Floyd and fool you if he wanted to, which makes me think of either twin acting like the other in order to pass as your boyfriend (if you’re dating only one) because he’s envious of the attention the other gets. All he needs to do is switch the placement of his dyed strand of hair and put on the intonation and speech patterns and you won’t know anything. Not until you peer closely at the way their eyes are shaped.
It’s interesting that you say the possession removes the filters of the afflicted person! Because when Azul was possessed he was quite tired and apathetic, and we know that deep down Azul isn’t nearly as extroverted or positive as he seems when he knows other people are watching. When he’s alone, he’s probably far more comfortable and less rigid—perhaps even as sleepy as how he acted when he was possessed because upholding a mask all the time can be draining. And maybe there is some occasional apathy that seeps through as a result.
With Jade, I think he only knows how to portray polite, ‘well-kept’ versions of his emotions. He doesn’t have many overly enthusiastic reactions. He does get excited over a few things, but his reactions differ greatly from Floyd’s. Jade’s reactions are not nearly as boisterous as Floyd’s. They’re more muted, in a way. Or covert? Meticulous? Almost like how his smile very rarely shows his sharp teeth, yet Floyd is always showcasing his teeth and the dangers that come with them! Jade is calculated. Floyd is not.
Floyd doesn’t have a filter, but Jade does and he has so many that I think he struggles to do away with these filters and be his authentic self. I think Jade realizes that having no filter is Floyd’s thing and that between the two of them Jade will always be the more responsible one. The respectful one. The one who filters himself and, on some occasions, keeps his brother in line. The one who doesn’t cause issues (at least, not with other’s knowledge). He lives as an observer, whereas Floyd prefers to immerse himself in the situations that Jade likes to study from afar. He’s even mentioned that he doesn’t like it when others observe him, and I think it’s because anyone who looks long and close enough might begin to learn things he doesn’t want them to learn.
Jade is normal, but only because he chooses to portray that facet of himself. Seeing a possessed Jade act just like Floyd was very fun and refreshing, but before Ruggie, Riddle, and Ortho could truly feel shocked that this was Jade they automatically assumed it was Floyd, which again makes me realize just how easy either brother could pass as the other and you wouldn’t know unless you truly analyze them up close. Upon closer inspection and a tip Riddle recalls Jade telling him of, the shock trickles in when they realize it’s actually Jade acting in this way. And even though a ghost was to blame, it’s still neat to consider that this is probably a side Jade is capable of showing if he wanted to. But he’s always been one to consider and calculate, so maybe he realizes nothing substantial will come of acting that way because it’s how Floyd’s personality is. It won’t get him far; instead it will just lead to suspicion or even confusion and that’s the last thing Jade wants to deal with.
He’s content acting the way he does because it’s easier to blend into the crowd. It’s easier to lure others in with a disarming smile and a politeness that’s as smooth as a ship cutting through calm waters. And it’s just as easy to snap down on the poor souls who thought it wise to trust a soothing smile and voice. After all, the best predators are the ones who cloak themselves in the colors and composition of their environment.

what kind of herb are you ?
dandelion
you grew up too fast and all you know is the calluses on your fists and the thousand invisible scars that you pretend don't ache. your anger burns so bright, so hot or maybe not at all, so deep you could never tell it was there. you are yours and you will defend that to the death after so many years of being ripped apart and denied your own agency and maybe you are still facing the bastards who stole your innocence but you will survive because that's the only thing you know how to do without breaking, the only thing you know besides protect, protect, protect, protect, yourself or sometimes those few others you claim as yours. you are a thousand sharp edges but impenetrable, a traumatized child so covered by thorny armor that you promised yourself you're grown now, you're stronger than anyone who has ever hurt you. you're safe. nothing will ever hurt you again. you're so alone though sometimes, in a world that sees you as too much or too broken or too angry or too hurt, and you want to scream with the too-much of it, prove that you're okay, that you're self-reliant, that you are strong enough to stake your claim on your body, on your mind, on your heart, on your people, and protect it from any who dare take it away from you. you are the sea in tempest, a howling sky, a tsunami in motion, a force of nature, no matter how much you sometimes yearn to be still, to be safe, to be small. you are a dandelion, stubborn and determined to grow in the rockiest of soil, and bloom again in spring.

just learned that the way we (in the US at least) typically learn japanese conjugation is almost completely different from how it actually works
I don't think I know enough yet to explain it fully but basically for example た (like when we say 行った or 食べた) and ます (like when we say 行きます or 食べます) can be conjugated themselves bc they're actually 助動詞
so that's how we end up with words like いらっしゃいませ bc the 〜ませ is a conjugation of ます
and also when we say 食べたら there's actually two conjugated pieces here which is the 動詞 (食べ, a conjugation of 食べる) and 助動詞 (たら, a conjugation of た)

There are more eloquent people out there that could probably explain better why this is the case, but it seems pretty telling that there is at least a decent overlap between those who are anti-transx/transid and people who say "you can change your gender but not your sex" 😬
