it really annoys me how casual the invigilators are in exams. like today, i took an english lit paper. i was given 2 hours, fifteen minutes and a booklet with 13 pages to write on so i could answer four questions. 2 of those questions were worth 30 marks, 1 worth 24 marks, and the last worth 8 marks- so naturally, it took a lot of planning, and a lot of writing. i finished the booklet after answering the third question, so raised my hand to get someone's attention to be given more paper to write on. at this point, i had roughly 15 minutes left. it took 3 for someone to notice me, 30 seconds for them to walk over, a minute for them to get the paper, and another 30 secs back. i physically couldn't do anything to continue writing in the 5 minutes it took for them to get me another answer booklet, which i then had to re fill in with my details at the top. like this is?? my exam??? it's important?? they just do not give a single damn about the time limit hjhfkgkg

marauders hcs ; exams

REMUS 

starting off strong with the overachiever who bases his entire worth on how he performs in school

he spends most of fifth year studying, much to the other marauders' dismay

he didn't intend to start a study group, but he got into the habit of helping those who asked

and it spiralled

he was one of the only students to take three additrional subjects

so when the marauders were in a free period, remus was in Runes

he was the most prepared, and probably the most terrified

five minutes before his arithmancy exam, he was found chain-smoking in the courtyard

he passed everything with exceeds expectations, with an outstanding in DADA, care of magical creatures and arithmancy

PETER

he wasn't the brightest student, but the others got him to revise

even though he was one of the people who actually revised, he thought it was pointless

whenever remus was about to explode from the pressure, peter would calm him down

he was easily convinced to quit revising

often by james and sirius…

he chose divination because it's easy to bullshit

it was the only subject that the other marauders didnt take

honestly, he didn't put much pressure on himself, despite being a nervous person

partly because (most of) his friends weren't stressing, partly because his dad had ministry connections so he'd get a job regardless

peter surprised himself and passed almost everything with acceptable, bar divination (E) and potions (poor)

SIRIUS

sirius was one of those annoying students who didn't even open a textbook, but passed everything with flying colours

remus would tell him to revise, but he wouldn't

he took muggle studies and care of magical creatures

he finished his exams fairly quickly, and stared out the window for the rest of the allotted time

after everyone had finished exams, he threw a party for all the 5th year students (and a handful of the other years) in the gryffindor common room

sirius got a mixture of exceeds expectations and outstanding; he flunked astronomy on purpose, to spite his parents

JAMES

though he was naturally clever, he revised a fair amount

he though sirius and remus were psycho for taking three additional subjects

james did muggle studies and care of magical creatures

he pulled a cady heron and tried to persuade lily to tutor him, which didnt work

after classes, he was the sort of student to wrangle past papers off his teachers

"oi pads, bet you five galleons i'll get outstanding in transfiguration"

tbh he was an arse and also went

"oi, padfoot, i bet you 10 galleons snivellus will fail charms" "ugh, prongs, i don't wanna be down by 10 galleons…"

james got outstandings in everything, apart from history of magic, when he got exceeds expectations

pretty much everyone was annoyed by that, because HOW did james potter get near perfect grades

I think I got extra time on my art exam (like a day or a half) just so i would shut the fuck up because in my art mock, I didn't have extra time so I couldn't finish my portrait (it was amazing, I only brought one of the paintings home) and I was in deep despair because the examiners will never see it in its glory. I was ugly crying SO much, that it carried on to the next day, and at this point, everyone was so concerned and worried about me that I was sent back to the art room for the rest of the day so I could finish my bloody portrait...🗿

#i was also really intoxicated on white spirit at that point too #ive never cried that much in my entire life #i threw all my gcse mock paintings and artbook into the big bin #but ey who hasn't been there? #my foster mother had to fish it out because im not supposed to bring all that stuff home lmao #and it was during the middle of the exam #anyway allthe examiners and teachers are keeping a VERY close eye on me now #im susceptible to go insane during an art exam #idk how different it is for everyone but for context. gcse art exam is like 10 hours long (like 2 days) #rambles

Revision: French reading

En: I have been revising reading for my mock exams so I did the 2022 reading paper for AQA, if it was an actual exam I would've got a 52/60 which would be 21.7% towards my overall grade!!!

Fr: J'ai étudié pour mes examens français alors j'ai fait le examen de lecteur de 2022 pour AQA, si c'était un examen réel me donnerait un 52/60 qui serait 21.7% pour mon évaluation

100 days of productivity 40/100

Today was my last day before mid term break!!! I've got a lot of homework and notes to do plus coursework bit I'm quite excited to start it.

Today was a half day and I went to town with some friends for lunch (had some bagels) which was really fun and I came back to school to help with an A Level options evening which was also surprisingly fun.

I started reading over a chemistry textbook today and read a bit of my book. I did feel overwhelmed with a situation that will happen in the future but for now I'm chosing to worry about that later, and am focusing on getting back some structure, discipline and good habits.

Oh and also!! I got an A in my chemistry class test!!!! My other class tests for math and physics were C's and D's (coming from someone who got A's and A*'s in her A Levels) so this was really relieving and gave me hope for my studies.

Tenth Week Of Year 11

This week I started my GCSE mocks. I would say it's going alright so far, I haven't had a mental breakdown yet so yay for me!

Monday - Maths Paper 1 and Drama

Both of them went amazing, I found out my Maths score which was 57 out of 80 which I think is around a grade 8. I haven't found out my Drama score yet but I'm feeling confident.

Tuesday - Biology and History (Weimar Germany)

Biology was alright, I always find Biology hard but I think I passed at least. History was great, I think I'm going to get a grade 7.

Wednesday - English Language and Spanish Listening

I was worried about English due to it being a 2 hour exam but I think I did great. Spanish was alright, it was like always; them talking super fast and me just catching words here and there. I think I'll pass though.

Thursday - Maths Paper 2

This paper was quite hard but I'm hoping I get at least a grade 7.

Friday - Chemistry

Chemistry was easier than Biology so I think it'll be alright.

Tommorow I have Maths Paper 3 and Spanish Writing so wish me luck! Anyways, stay tuned for some more posts!
