heads up! 🙋‍♀️ i’m no longer going to use the playable race tags (#asura, #norn etc) while reblogging here because developers of warp, the popular roleplay overlay, are reported to have considered scraping gw2blr tags, including those, to generate ai images from stolen art & screenshots, which means that tagging system puts your works at an unnecessary risk.

if you’re concerned about your creations being plagiarized, i recommend watermarking, glazing, and/or nightshading before you post in main gw2 tags!

Alright imma be real with ya'll...

I haven't been doing great mentally lately. You guys have constantly heard me bitching about my seasonal depression and it getting in the way of my artistic motivation yada yada lol Well, it just keeps refusing to let up. I've been trying to fight it, work through it, hoping that it would go away if I just keep working, when in all honesty that's mentally draining me even more. Now, there have been a few times where the drive to draw would come in spurts and I would finish a few small things here and there and I recently did the new blog banner and all, but as quickly as that motivation appears, it vanishes again. It's been an ongoing cycle since December, I haven't been very productive at all with the more important things and I've barely even touched the Baby Arc since SD hit. And lately this rut has started to bleed into things outside of art and affect my motitivation to do daily responsibilities as well, to the point half the time I feel like a vegetable while house work continues to pile up around me...I'm thinking I may need to do things a bit differently for awhile.

Obviously it's been too difficult to draw right now. My SD had never been this severe before, so there needs to be a change. I can't keep up my usual routine of wake up, go to work, come home, draw, repeat. I need a bit more variety for the time being, maybe making time to do other things that make me happy aside from art will do me some good. That being said though...ugh I hate this, I don't even wanna say it, but the Baby Arc might have to be put off yet again for awhile. I thought about all this last night and was literally crying over it because like, I'm finally here!! We made it to the point of Blu being officially introduced and then seasonal depression decides to come in and fuck up everything I've been trying to do. Like I took a step forward, then three steps back! It just really feels like a kick to my nonexistent balls man...Regardless I think a step back right now is necessary, so hopefully you guys understand, yall usually do anyways ^^

So yeah, I guess here's another art hiatus...don't expect to see anything probably until the end of February, or even March, cause I'm hoping the SD will start to go away by then

Mod Announcement (Re: Fic Ideas)

Hi everyone! We are so happy to hear that so many of you are excited to join us!

Even though some of us mods have been talking about this since last year, we didn’t factor in the fact that a lot of people weren’t expecting a Jegulus Big Bang and some questions regarding fic ideas have popped up. As is detailed in our FAQ, in order to maintain anonymity when we are doing artist and writer pairings, we require all fic ideas to be new.

That said, as this is our first year and we popped up without much warning, we have discussed within the mod team and have decided to allow people to submit ideas that they may have posted about or discussed in online spaces before, within reason.

If you have a fic idea and have briefly discussed it on Tumblr, you have until sign ups open on May 1st to scrub mentions of the idea from your blog. The sooner the better. Any works that have already had a chapter posted or been extensively promoted are still ineligible for the fest. However, if there’s an idea you made a couple of posts about you are free to delete and choose that idea for your big bang fic!

If the Jeg Big Bang continues in the future, we won’t be allowing this again—but there’s always going to be some teething issues on the first run! Once again we are so thankful for all the responses we’ve had, and are so excited to hear everyone’s ideas!

Hello everyone, Frank(MOD) here. I've come to say that I'm going to lay low on the Rise And Shine au for a bit. It's not that I've lost interest, I'm just getting a bit overwhelmed, and I need to take a break from it for a bit as to avoid a huge burnout. I want the chance to stretch and work on other things outside of the blog instead of having to worry about what's going on here all the time. Alright, a bit of an update regarding the arc....unfortunately not a good update in my opinion.

I don't think I'm going to finish all of Blu's Arc in time for Christmas :(

I tried...I really did, I thought I could, but honestly, I should've known better. Getting 3 major parts completely finished and ready to post with less than a month left??? Yeah, I dont think that's happening. Plus, with it being the holidays, things have been busy IRL with family, work, and all that "fun" stuff. Perhaps I may have been a bit too ambitious. I haven't been getting my right sleep either for the last couple of weeks, so that's been interfering with my motivation and ability to draw during the only times I'm able. Now I know I've said many, many times that it's okay if Blu is late and doesn't actually arrive by real-time Christmas, that's still fine. If he's late, then he's late. If he comes in January or February, it won't matter. He'll still be a winter baby, at least, and his birthday will still be on Christmas in the story, so be it. But...this was more of a personal goal I wanted to set for myself, and I kinda feel a little disappointed in myself that I likely won't be able to meet it...

And let's be honest...I'm not the fastest artist XD I'm slow as hell when it comes to making comics. It's taken me weeks to a month to just get ONE out on a few occasions (usually, that was because they were very long, but still).

I'm saying all this now just so ya'll won't be disappointed later, most of you probably seen this coming anyway XD I think it's safe to say I wont be focusing on the Christmas deadline anymore, but I'm still gonna try to get the arc finished in a reasonable amount of time, without disregarding my health of course ^^

HERE WE GO! ARTIST CLAIMS SUBMISSIONS OPEN TOMORROW AT 9:00AM CST. (What time is that for me?) 

Authors, start your engines! Submissions for artist claims open tomorrow May 29 at 9:00AM until June 5 at 11:59PM CST. In order to continue participating in the bang as an author, you must submit for artist claims. This is a mandatory check-in for all participating authors - those who do not submit will be dropped from the author list automatically. 

Authors are expected to submit their fic information and 50%+ fic drafts. We’ve outlined what fic info authors should submit in our Claims Process Outline - if you have specific questions, feel free to check with mods. The 50%+ draft should be at least 50% or more of your expected final word count. If you think your word count will be 20k+, you should submit a draft of at least 10k, and so on. No draft should be under 5,000 words, as the final draft minimum is at least 10,000 words. If you have specific questions about your draft, ask a mod!

Artists, you can start getting excited! Mods will be hard at work compiling all of the fics we receive from authors and putting them together on a slide deck in preparation for artist claims weekend on June 10. We will send out the previews to all participants on June 1 so artists can start looking at submitted fics and making their claims lists. Artists, please remember that authors have until June 5 to submit - so the slide deck will continue to be updated until that time! Additionally, authors are allowed to request an extension until June 9th, so there may be last minute additions. Mods suggest checking back on the slide deck regularly until claims.

Don’t forget that artist claims will open June 10!
