The Sims Daily mod brings back the nostalgia of Sims 3 with functional newspapers, stands, and a daily subscription service. Although paper newspapers may seem a thing of the past, this old school service is perfect for rags to riches game play since it is totally base game compatible (BGC) and works off the grid (OTG).

If multiple sims in your household have a subscription, you will only get 1 issue/day and will only be charged once

Daily issues are delivered around your mailbox daily at ~9 AM

If you have more than 5 outdated Sims Daily newspapers on your lot, you will no longer receive new issues until you dispose of the old ones

Once your sim subscribes to The Sims Daily, you will get a notification and your sim will have a visible trait

All right, this took a few days to compile and I'm hoping it is complete as of the Crystal Creations Stuff Pack (or today's date whichever is easier to remember). I plan to update this as new skills become available and will then post the date at the top of this post.

Notes about this list: - I did not include hidden skills - I have tested this on a completely new, mod-free save. - Most of the skills were tested using skill books, but a few required an object to learn. {For example for my teen to learn writing it required the journal. Not sure if the computer would work or not) - All children skills were obtained at skill lvl 1 for Creativity, Mental, Motor, and Social. Female Maternity Defaults - with 9 Options for Each Outfit

I finished making all my new defaults but I don’t feel like taking preview pictures for all of them right now. So I made 9 sets of defaults for afbodymaternityshirtpants and took preview pictures of those instead, even though I use a mod allowing pregnant sims to wear any outfit in my game and therefore have no real use for these myself. 

There are 9 single colour sets: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white and black. Do not download more than one complete set.

Or if you want outfits from different sets I’ve included a “mix and match” download where you can choose between the 9 options for each outfit yourself - if you go with this one make sure to keep only one file from each subfolder in the download. In the mix and match download each file has a number at the beginning indicating the colour.

Tutorial: How to Extract Icons from the Sims 4

The art style of the Sims 4 is a great improvement from the previous titles in the franchise, and this time around, the designers did an impeccable job on the iconography. From buff icons to trait icons to career and chat icons, there’s a huge variety to select from. If you’re making a mod of your own, and you want to edit an in-game icon to suit it, or you’re just really DYING to make a T-shirt with the woohoo symbol on it, it’s really easy (if a little time consuming) to extract these icons from the game’s files.

What you will need:

Sims 4 Studio installed on your computer

A copy of the Sims 4 on hard disk

Step 1: Open up Sims 4 Studio.

Step 2: Cruise Game Files.

In the toolbar at the very top, click Tools > Game File Cruiser.

Step 3: Filter by DST Images

In the top left hand corner, you’ll see a huge list of checkboxes with various file types. We’re looking for icons, specifically, so we’ll check the DST Image box.

Step 4: Filter by Pack

Think about the icon you’re looking for? Did it come from an Expansion Pack or a Game Pack? The Base Game? Determining that and using that information to filter will help you sift through these images more effectively.

Once you’ve narrowed that down, enter the pack number in the filter input below the file type selector. Here’s a handy guide to how pack numbers link to the expansion names, in case you need it.

I’m looking for one from City Living, so I’ll type in \EP03\ and press Filter.

If you check the last column in your search results, you should see the items have now filtered to only include those for the pack you selected.

Step 5: Sort By File Size

Sort by filesize by clicking the Filesize header.

Buff icons are typically around 1.7kB (although there are a couple of full-color icons sometimes sprinkled in there). Full color icons for careers and thought bubbles and such are often around 16.1kB.

You can typically stop when you get to files that are 21.5kB or larger -- those are very unlikely to be what you’re looking for.

Step 6: Sift

From here, you’ll unfortunately have to sift through the files manually until you find the one you’re looking for. I tried to include enough information here, though, to help you narrow it down a bit.

Step 7: Export as PNG

Once you’ve found the icon you’re looking for, you can click Export. Or, if you have found multiple icons you’d like to extract, you can use Ctrl + Click to select them in the results pane, and then click Batch Export. Find a place on your computer to save, and voila! You’ve got an icon you can do what you please with.

(Though please be wary of using them in commercial contexts; intellectual property laws protect these works, so make sure that what you’re doing with them falls under Fair Use or personal use. The ‘Unholy’ Collection for Collectibles

Tired of vacationing to Granite Falls three times a year to collect what might be in-season at the time? How many visits to Sixam does one need to make? I have been doing even *more* digging around in the tuning files lately, trying new (to me) things and attempting to challenge myself a bit more in that area…

This is one of the results - A One-Stop-Shoppe for ALL your collectable needs, plus one 'extra’ category, for a total of 28 categories, as I am more fond of the number 28 than I am 27 (which is how many different collections there currently are in Sims 4) (I added a 'Swag’ category for purchasing anything that one could at any of the various festivals). I originally had tried out four different shopping list methods in a much more sprawling shopping mod, and ended up using two of those four for these…

I tried to give a wide variety of options for one to use, choosing an item from each of five different packs for you to choose from (I own all packs *except* for Laundry Day, myself). You can choose from: The RW Cash Register from EP01, a choice of any of the four EP03 festival stalls, the Vet Clinic Check-In screen from EP04 (I changed the color of two of the swatches), a 'dumbed-down' (read: not useable as such) Vault Door from EP06 (with an additional white swatch), or the GP07 Curio Stand (no crazy lights but a broken TV screen inside the shop)… There is an essential, separate tuning file that is required to be able to use these - just plop it in any directory and you will be good-to-go! The tunings are of my own creation - I didn’t utilize anyone else’s tunings as a base as I had done once before, in a pinch (of course not taking any credit for that one). I looked around and could only find one mod that was somewhat close - the 'Online Utilities System’ - but with only five of the 27 categories, and of course for years my personal hero modder @coolspear has had several different mods to be able to purchase items, but each on its own category.

You are presented with a purchasing menu for each category, can choose as many of any item as one desires, and the shopping menu is 'smart’ in that it will tell you how many of any item you already have in your inventory. As usual, there is a minor 'fly in the ointment’ with the menus, as the methodology that I used allows for the 'rig’ items of some items to be offered - they simply show up as 'Debug’ without any icon picture to show what they are. Simply ignore them, as they are of no value. Additionally, I 'beefed up’ a few of the categories to include additional items that may not otherwise have been displayed. The medals from GP07 show up along with the 'Elements’ as they have a similar tag in them… Find by either searching 'minimo’ or 'Collection’, all have my custom thumbnail.

100+ Traits Unlocked for CAS - ATICAS

Created for: The Sims 4 by tucatuc

Recently I wanted to start a new gameplay. Nothing weird, just a standard sim living a standard life. But I realised, there's still only about 50 traits in CAS and most of them are similar and do... practically nothing (if you don't count some buffs). That's why I made another mod with a weird acronym:

ATICAS - All Traits In CAS

This mod unlocks many many traits, which are not available in Create a Sim:

Aspiration points reward traits

Aspiration bonus traits

Complete aspiration reward traits

Career traits

City Living food traits

Parenthood character value reward traits

Toddlers' and children's reward traits

105 of these can be found [easier] with this mod !

So what files should I download ?

1. There are different types of packages in this mod

Aspiration - This package unhides traits earned by completing aspirations

BaseMod - This mod makes the traits that are already available in the game so that they can conflict (And what I mean is that traits already conflict, for example a sim can't have Romantic and Unflirty traits at the same time. This package just makes the rest of the traits compatible with this system)

Bonus - This package unhides traits earned when choosing the first aspiration when creating a sim

Hidden - This package unhides Doctors' and Critics' hidden traits and Chopstick and Spicy food hidden traits

ParenthoodCharacterValues - This package unhides traits earned by children and teens when Parenthood is installed

RewardStore - This package unhides traits available to buy with aspiration points (these traits from the menu where you can also buy potions)

ToddlersAndChildrenRewards - This package unhides traits earned by completing Toddlers' skills at level 3 or 5 and mastering Childrens' skills

2. You need to choose packages corresponding to the expansion you own, otherwise blank spaces will appear instead of these traits

To do this every package was marked with an expansion code. To make it easy, here's the list of them and what expansion they represent:

BG - Base Game

EP01 - Get to Work

EP02 - Get Together

EP03 - City Living

EP04 - Cats and Dogs

EP05 - Seasons

GP01 - Outdoor Retreat

GP04 - Vampires

GP05 - Parenthood

GP06 - Jungle Adventure

3. You have to choose between the Standard Version and No Conflicts Version. No Conflicts erases all inter-trait conflicts, so that you can choose any traits you want to and there will be no problem at all (I mean the game can have bugs, because it's not expecting this, but that's nearly unavoidable). The Standard version contains all the [mostly] essential conflicts between traits

Known bugs:

Sometimes traits are added by the game on top of the traits chosen by the player. You can download Debug Interactions enabler and delete them yourself or download TwistedMexi's All Cheats mod and delete them by a code. There' not much I can do with this, but I'll look into this bug

Because none of the traits have animations tied to them, every trait play an animation of the last trait picked with animation, the Genius trait animation or will not play any animation at all. This has no impact of the gameplay
