You breezed into your shared apartment with Max. He couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face. Despite his cold, dead vampire heart, he was crazy about you.

“How was your shopping trip?” He asked you.

“So good!” You said a bit breathlessly. You set your armful of bags down on the table. “I got almost everything for Christmas. Just need to hit up the Lego store at some point for my nephew.”

“Good,” Max said.

“Oh!” You exclaimed. “I know you asked me to make the mulled wine again, but I couldn’t get everything I needed—” you rummaged around in the bags—“so I picked up this!”You held up a dark bottle of wine.

“What’s that?” Max asked.

“It’s glühwein,” you replied.

“Huh?”

“Glühwein,” you repeated. “A German spiced wine that is absolutely delicious!”

“Hmm,” Max said un enthusiastically. “Do I still get to spike it?” You rolled your eyes.

“Of course,” you answered, “but I want you to try it without my blood first.”

“Sure,” he said with a shrug.

“Great!” You smiled huge. “I’m gonna warm it up and then put all these gifts away.”

“Where do you want them?” Max asked. “I’ll take care of them while you handle the wine.”

“Hall closet please,” you said and disappeared into the kitchen. Max quickly deposited the gifts. He headed back to the living room and settled on the couch to wait for you. A few minutes later you came out with the wine. Max took the glass you handed to him and pulled you close to his side once you sat down. He sniffed the drink and decided it didn’t smell half bad. He took a cautious sip and felt the flavors explode on his tongue.

“Wow,” he said in surprise. “This is actually pretty decent.”

“I told you!” You said happily.

“Hmm,” Max took another sip. “I actually think I’m gonna drink this whole glass without adding blood.”

“Really?” You’re voice drenched in shock.

“Yeah,” he said. “But the next glass I’m adding it.”

“Ok,” you said and took a sip. Max studied you for a minute. He licked his lips as he thought about the taste of your blood and this wine…but it would be so much sweeter drinking it directly from your veins after you consumed enough.

“Actually,” he said in a dark voice, “I have a better idea. I’m going to finish this glass. You’re going to have several more, and then I’ll taste it directly from the source.”

“Is that the way you want to do it?” You said huskily, looking at him through your lashes.

“Definitely,” Max answered. “And then, I wanna fuck you all night long.”

“Deal,” you agreed.
