So now what? The PM of this country has started directly attacking a community. I have put the whole thing together because obviously I will have "people" telling me that the majority matters or whatever they say. But are we really this blind to not notice what is happening? The ruling party is clearly using religion and communal tension (which they obviously instigated) to hide their inadequacies from the public. This is a tale as old as time: the ruling government has been using divide and rule policies to exploit and manipulate the public. Even after 10 years of their rule,  is the party's only way to gather votes? By causing division between communities?
I am scared about the future. The rising tension between communities scares me. I await with bated breath the day it will finally burst. And you know who will be affected by this? Not the government, not the leaders, not those businessmen or celebrities. It will be you and me, no matter which community we belong to. We will be affected.

It's been a while and I feel like I might blow up if I don't say something but #byebyemodi is trending on twitter

And I can't help but feel like it's time our generation made some sort of organized political effort to make an impact on the future of India. Until now (as stupid as that may sound) I felt a bit hopeless regarding the direction our country was headed in. Everyone around me was either content with the current government, indifferent to politics or a nationalist right winger. But now people are publicly making a stance. And to add to that I saw a pride flag out in the wild today. And it...felt nice. It felt good. I found my self smiling like an idiot.
But emotional points aside, I am making this post to see if there are actually people out there who care. I always felt like politics in India was some kind of immovable object. Something I or anyone else could not impact. But the 2020 US election proved otherwise. It showed to me (I don't know about others) that organised effort with consistent and careful planning can make a difference. Of course I am aware of the night and day difference between American politics and Indian politics. For starters parliamentary system and the sheer scale of the Indian voter base makes it a nightmare to organise. Then there is the large conservative voter block that will back bjp.
So this is not a post to start a revolution or anything. I am not narcissistic enough to believe I could make a difference. But rather this is a post ment to see if I can find atleast some people who agree with me.
If you think that India should elect a liberal government and undergo significant changes interact with this post. Like it, reblog it or comment. Whatever works. If you think it's time for the current government to go (that is if you think we should elect a different government in the coming election) then interact with this post.
I realised rather suddenly that this year I turn 18. And so will so many other. We aren't kids stuck complaining about a government that's actively making India worse. We are a voter block now. A small one by electoral standards. But we are a growing majority. And I want to know if change is possible.

Probably going to get a lot of negative responses for this, but I'll say what I want to.
Months back, I'd made a post commenting that I was disappointed in India's stance on the Russia-Ukraine war. I'd implied that I'd wanted my country to vote against Russia in the UN council.
Well, my views have considerably changed since then.
To be clear, I'm still against invading another country. That's absolutely wrong.
But now that I'm able to look at it in proper context, I've realized that I probably shouldn't be making diplomatic decisions on an international level, at least not anytime soon.
Here are the things I was unaware of at that time:
It's not wise to trust the USA on this matter, as they've got a track-record of being self-serving instead of helping India when it needs assistance.
Ukraine has repeatedly voted against India in the United Nations, imports weapons to Pakistan, and has been pretty much anti-India. Until, of course, it turned out that they needed its help.
It's Russia who's stood by India all these years. It'd be the height of foolishness to cut off such a relationship (affecting almost a billion people) for a country which has been against you in the past.
I understand that Zelensky was busy conducting photo-shoots when he was supposed to be fighting for Ukraine. That's even more of a buzzkill.
I'll admit that my stance back then was based on virtue-signalling and jumping onto the bandwagon, rather than giving it a proper, objective analysis.
So that's that.
Again, I'm still against a country invading another.
But it's sometimes better to take a neutral stance in international politics.

'Indian Government organised killings in Pakistan to eliminate terrorists', says Guardian report citing intel sources
Representational Image. Indian and Pakistani intelligence officials have been anonymously quoted in a report by The Guardian saying Indian government has been involved in targeted killings in Pakistan as part of a broader strategy to eliminate terrorists residing on foreign soil. Interviews with officials from both countries and documents shared by Pakistani investigators shed light on the…

India's Space Ambitions: A Celestial Tango
In a move that’s less about stepping on toes and more about moonwalking in zero gravity, India has declared its space sector a free-for-all cosmic playground. With the announcement of 100% foreign direct investment in satellite component manufacturing, India is not just opening its doors; it’s removing them entirely. The message is loud and clear: “Welcome to the Grand Indian Space Bazaar, Elon…

The Indian farmers’ protest of 2020–2021 was a year-long mass protest against three farm acts passed by the Indian Parliament, demanding their repeal. The laws aimed to deregulate produce markets and introduce market forces, which farmers feared would harm their livelihoods. After sustained protests, the government agreed to abandon the controversial laws, marking a significant event in India’s recent history. The protests took place during the lethal wave of COVID-19, and this caused intense hardship to the protestors, who spent months living on the streets, braving the harsh weather and the police.
