Alternative systems to publish your TTRPG content under now that WotC is promising to steal your stuff if you make it with D&D:
Cypher System by Monte Cook Games:
Apocalypse World/Powered by the Apocalypse:
Blades in the Dark:
Modiphius (2d20 system):
I know there are many more, but those are the big systems that pop in my head at the moment. (Technically, GURPS also lives in my head, but that's more of a curse, really.)
Go make your cool stuff and don't let anyone tell you it isn't yours just because you used their game rules.

Tumblr media
We're proud to announce that one of our wiki's founders, Kate Darrow, is officially working on Fallout: The Roleplaying Game as an Editor and Proofreader!
We're extremely happy to have a wiki team member working on an official Fallout game and we can't wait for what's to come!
We'd like to thank Modiphius Entertainment for allowing her the opportunity to work on this amazing Fallout game, as well as the community for their continued support of us! It sincerely means a lot to us. 💜

Exclusive: Discworld TTRPG in the works by studio behind Fallout wargames
Modiphius, the studio responsible for tabletop adaptations of Star Trek, Fallout, and more, is working on a Discworld TTRPG.
Having secured the rights to the beloved series with an agreement from the late author Sir Terry Pratchett's estate, Modiphius is already at work on a Discworld roleplaying game "around the city of Ankh-Morpork and the wider Disc." This will hit Kickstarter later in the year.
Read more here.

The new plastic Brotherhood of Steel models, painted as Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. Thanks to Modiphius for sending these to me for review!

A short and very subjective list of problems I have with the Discworld RPG that we'll be getting from Modiphius Entertainment:
None of the GMs are Terry Pratchett, least of all me.
It's made by Modiphius, which means it will probably use their 2d20 system, which means I'll have to learn it after bouncing off it years ago.
It'll be hard to not include Sam Vimes at every opportunity.
Bridgemire Watch and A one in a million chance at adventure, both Discworld-inspired games I kinda like, will be lost in the shuffle.
SPEAKING LIKE THIS will be bad for my vocal cords. I'll still do it.
It's kinda hard to make a satire you have to interact with consistently funny and not exhausting.
Thing is, I'll probably still get it, even if it's not for work. I'll probably like it, too! But I need to grump myself out before I can properly enjoy this thing.

I've always loved this excerpt from Modiphius' Star Trek RPG. The idea that an AI would chose to save humans instead of kill them is ... very Trek. And yes, Perimeter, or Система «Периметр», also known (rather melodramatically imo) as "Dead Hand", is real - though it's evidently semi-automatic in reality, not an AI-powered fully-automatic system as described here. Ofc given WW3 happened in the 2050s in Trek history, and our own IRL tech advances, saying it got an AI system upgrade is plausible. We don't know how many missiles each of the belligerents in WW3 had, but, if we assume it's a similar number to today, it would be around 9,600 warheads. At the stated 2-3% hit rate here, that's still around 290 nuclear detonations. Considering the shots we saw in SNW of major cities being hit, a 600 million death toll seems plausible, even with only ~290 warheads hitting their targets. Point is, this is super cool worldbuilding, and an example of how Star Trek can take a dystopian sci-fi cliche and turn it into something hopeful.

Pictured: Frank Horrigan as he appears in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. The sculptors updated the design of his armor to match the current X-01 design. He is stood atop a slain deathclaw, which is cast into the scenic base.
We're working on a massive and complete overhaul of our Fallout: Wasteland Warfare content, but in the mean time you can read more about Frank Horrigan here.

I know about the issues with plagiarism but this art is gorgeous and it sounds like they made an honest mistake, admitted to it and I can forgive them

I worked on more illustrations for the Fallout RPG! These were for the Rust Devils NPC Pack  This specific Automatron-based NPC Pack looks incredible, I'm so happy I got to work on it 💚 "A raider gang with a taste for technology and the smarts to use them. Face off against heavily modified robots and their raider overseers at an abandoned satellite array."
(BTW I would love to work on the Fallout-themed MTG decks that WoTC announced, if anyone can help me with connections, and if there are cards left to illustrate) © 2023 Bethesda Game Studios © 2023 Modiphius Entertainment AD: Ariel Orea
