So what were the themes of the Book of Boba Fett?
Presumably, it was that Boba, bad guy extraordinaire, is actually able to settle down and create his own territory. That there’s more to life than the bounty, right?
So then, why didn't we spend more time on that?
I was laughing a bit at how he kept adopting people (the pork chop guards, the MODley crew, krrsanthemum, etc) in the beginning eps, but honestly? That’s what needed to happen. And they needed to continue that instead of dropping it in favor of Mando S2.5.
Because every time Boba said "these are my people" in the finale, it didn’t mean anything. Why, Boba? What makes them your people? Because you said so? You just walked in and declared yourself daimyo.
Unlike with the Tuskens who taught you their ways and accepted you into their tribe, you haven't actually gotten that acceptance from the Mos Espa populace. Just tenuous gestures of acceptance from people in power (and a couple of adoptable children). “Your people" how? Isn’t the average citizen’s lives exactly the same as they were under Jabba and Bib Fortuna?
Like when the locals were vagueing him about not using a litter? He could either do the work to learn and respect the local culture. OR if the litters, etc, are supposed to be Bad because they’re a symbol of the Hutts occupying Tatooine, then make that clear! And show how Boba can be better!
He should revolutionize the place in SOME way. Give us some sort of culture clash where Boba is not necessarily in the right, but his novel ways of thinking reveal a better way to do things.
Give us more Boba amassing all the citizens who have been overlooked. Learning the wheels of power: which people get things done, and which get fat off their hard work. Giving the Gamorreans names, maybe. Training the mods in enrichment jobs. Letting Krrsantan become a rancor trainer or something.
Make their lives better.
Come on! He did it for the Tuskens! He taught them how to ride speeders, gave them the courage to raid the train, and negotiated a protection deal for them!
Wouldn’t it have been more meaningful for him to learn Mos Espa culture? Since those are the people he ends up leading? (and since the tuskens end up massacred?)

Acting Navy Secretary Submits Resignation After Calling the Captain of the USS Roosevelt ‘Stupid’
Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly submitted his resignation a day after audio of him calling the captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, Captain Brett Crozier, “stupid” surfaced.
In a speech to the crew of the Roosevelt, Modly blasted Crozier for raising the alarm after more than 100 crew members tested positive for the coronavirus.
Crozier had requested in a letter to Navy leadership that the crew of the ship be allowed to disembark and quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus.
“We are not at war. Sailors do not need to die. If we do not act now, we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted asset: our Sailors.”
It did not take long for the news of the letter to reach the press. Modly blasted Crozier on Monday for writing the letter.
“If he didn’t think that this information wasn’t going to get out into the public, in this day and information age that we live in, then he was either A, too naive or too stupid to be a commanding officer of a ship like this. The alternative is that he did this on purpose.”
On Monday evening, Modley apologized for his comments, “I do not think Captain Brett Crozier is naïve nor stupid.”
He continued, “I believe, precisely because he is not naive and stupid, that he sent his alarming email with the intention of getting it into the public domain in an effort to draw public attention to the situation on his ship.”
Modley’s apology did little to smooth things over on Capitol Hill, where on Tuesday afternoon House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) issued a statement calling for his removal.
“Our oath of office is to protect and defend the Constitution, and therefore our first responsibility is to protect and defend the American people,” Pelosi said, adding, “That is exactly what Captain Crozier was doing when he called for help for the men and women in his charge.”
She continued, “[Modly] showed a serious lack of the sound judgment and strong leadership needed during this time. Acting Secretary Modly must be removed from his position or resign.”
Check out Pelosi’s statement below:
Modly was appointed to be the acting Navy secretary after former Navy Secretary Richard Spencer was forced out of the job late last year over the case of Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher, as IJR has previously reported.
