forgotten but not gone
(please be gentle, y’all, this is the first public fic I’ve posted since basically… ever)
inspired by/remix of the cursed light by datfearlessfangirl
okay, so.
the first Split was relatively harmless, believe it or not. it separated out Remus and Roman, sure, but the sides all still lived together and cared about each other.
as a teen/young adult, the sides were in cutesy little pairs.
Janus and Roman, the theater gays.
Virgil and Logan, the couple that considers sitting silently in a room together with headphones on a romantic activity.
and Remus and Patton, the chaotic powerhouses who love nothing more than making messes in the kitchen and screaming I-love-you’s from across the house.
but then
the second split.
it was a crisis of morality and identity on Thomas’s part
so intense that it ripped the mindscape in two
the “acceptable” sides simply got their memories wiped, starting from scratch
while the dark sides were locked away and hurt.
now, neither side knew about the others and the effect it had on them
so when the light sides saw a closet oozing with Bad Feelings, they felt it best to investigate for the good of Thomas
and they were greeted with monsters.
Remus, screaming out horrific imagery and banging his head raw and bloody against the wall
Virgil, spiraling into such a bad panic attack that the shadows around him were lashing out without him realizing
and Janus, fangs and all six arms out, who uncontrollably lied about how they were useless here, how they weren’t wanted, they needed to get out, ssssstupid little sides
the lights screamed
and ran out
the darks chased them
because, here’s the thing
imagine you have known someone all your life. you know their tics, what makes them happy
and you’re not afraid of what they’re like when they’re in distress, because you know what to expect. and you know you’re safe with them.
now. imagine meeting someone for the first time on your absolute worst day.
that’s what happened to the darks.
the Patton of before would have rushed to Remus, gently guiding him away from the wall and crooning soothing nonsense to drown out his babble about death and gore and being alone alone alone
the Roman of before would have nodded and taken none of what Janus was saying at face value, cradling Janus’s hands in his own and humming a quiet tune
and the Logan of before would have tapped out a slow, calm rhythm next to Virgil until he could breathe and handle touch again
but they didn’t know any of that anymore.
all they saw were monsters.
and all the dark sides saw were their friends, family, lovers there when they needed help.
the light sides fled back to the upper mindscape
and the darks slammed into the barrier
screaming and clawing at the invisible wall
for someone to help
for their family to look at them
for someone to explain what was going on
and the light sides closed and locked the door with a sigh of shaky relief.
now, the light sides develop something of an ingrained bad reaction to the darks due to this colossally bad first impression.
Patton: disgust, fear, thin veneer of trying to be polite while getting them to leave the vicinity as soon as possible
Logan: coldness, indifference. not cruelty but no warmth or allowances
Roman: fear masked by anger and intense protectiveness.
and the dark sides all deal with the upheaval, betrayal, and pain in different ways.
Virgil: depressed, afraid, tends to lash out at the slightest provocation. goes from snarky to mean.
Janus: gives up and pretends everything is fine. sees no point in hurting himself to get something back that can't be replaced or repaired. covers heartbreak with snark. can't quite stop himself from flirting with Roman but pretends it's just manipulation. focuses just on Thomas and what's best for him, ignoring all else.
Remus: wears his rotting heart on his sleeve. tries the hardest to get Patton back and is the least equipped to do so. isn't exactly trying to keep the others' spirits up, but more just doesn't lose hope that they can somehow fix this.
the dark sides can only come to the main mindscape at all at night at first.
the barrier stops them any other time
it’s Remus who finds out first, mindlessly banging his head against the barrier to pass the time only to fall flat on his face when it fizzles out
and they all slowly start sneaking in at night to see the home that they were thrown out of
and slowly, the lights start having odd little incidents
nothing in person, at first.
Roman: he finds something in progress and abandoned at the border between the imagination halves that he and Remus both worked on. he can't figure out why it looks so recent even though he can’t remember ever getting along with his brother this well.
Patton: he's having a Sad Night. he thinks he's hiding it well, but someone (Virgil) notices and leaves him cookies that are one of his favorites. not a secret recipe, just ones he likes. there's a little note saying that sometimes it's okay to have a second cookie. Patton can't figure out who would know him this well.
Logan: he’s dealing with an absolute menace of a meeting. he gets back to his room, seething all the way, to see a plain porcelain plate with an unsigned note saying “break me all you want, nerd! I’ll put myself back together!”. he experimentally drops it from a few feet up. it shatters with a very satisfying crack and then, a few seconds later, reassembles itself in his hand. he has a grand old time shattering the plate against the wall again and again until his rage has subsided to a manageable level. he can’t figure out who would come up with an idea like this.
and then there start being little middle-of-the-night interactions. because for some reason, the light sides have a much harder time falling asleep nowadays.
Virgil looks over Roman’s shoulder as he watches a Disney movie in the living room at three AM to try and fall asleep. Anxiety offers a teasing insult to the protagonist. Roman jumps out of his skin, at first threatening to stab him, but then lets him tentatively settle in on the counter behind him. they roast the movie together, gradually picking up steam until Roman actually laughs at something Anxiety says. they both freeze and stare at each other for a heartbeat until Roman sinks out without a word.
Patton finds himself tucked into bed after a too-long day sorting through Thomas' emotional responses. when he wakes up, there's a somehow still steaming cup of sweet herbal tea that tastes like a snickerdoodle. he vaguely remembers a soft voice hissing at him that he needs to pay more attention to his own needs.
Logan is reading philosophy textbooks and muttering to himself out loud. Janus offers a quiet critique. they have a heartbeat of wonderful discussion before Logan "remembers" himself and shuts it down.
eventually, through all this, their memories start coming back. it’s triggered slowly through their platonic interactions with their friends, and then all at once by their romantic partners.
(because the love of friends is just as impactful and important as the love of a partner)
Patton:
Patton is sad and frustrated, muttering to himself and pacing in the kitchen.
someone walks in and he immediately stops and snaps into happy pappy Patton mode. “Oh hey, kiddo-“
it's Remus, who just cocks his head and says "you know you don't have to do that with me, right?"
and after some protesting on Morality’s part
he ends up goading Patton into a very cathartic expression of anger, fear, and frustration, and helps him sort it out.
at some point, Remus has shifted to holding Patton in a loose embrace as Patton waves his hands and rants and sobs.
Patton doesn’t realize that he burrows deeper into Remus’ arms every time he wiggles.
to the point that he’s turned sideways in Remus’ lap, with one arm curled around him and the other one free to gesture.
and then when it’s all over, they’re talked out, and it’s almost sunrise, Remus reluctantly starts to tear himself away.
and Patton, who quite suddenly cannot bear the thought of Remus letting him go, holds on
Logan:
panic attacks? Logan? certainly not. he doesn’t get those.
so when he finds himself gasping for air, feeling like his chest is on fire, and locked into his worst thoughts, he doesn’t know what to do
because he knows how to treat panic attacks
but this isn’t one. definitely
and even if it was, for some reason all his knowledge on how to treat them is slipping from his mind no matter how hard he tries to reach from it
you have to breathe? somehow? but he can’t breathe, can’t think
and somehow through it, he hears a raspy voice
counting steadily and quietly
and he realizes that there’s a stim toy placed in his hands that he’s wringing.
and it looks familiar, but he knows he’s never seen it before
and there’s soft, flowy music playing from a Bluetooth speaker next to him
and that feels familiar too
and without quite knowing why, only having a bone-deep certainty that it’ll help, he slumps over into the person sitting next to him
smells lavender and laundry detergent
feels soft fabric under his cheek
and suddenly everything snaps into place
oh
of course
why does he feel so safe? because he’s with the safest person in the world.
Roman:
okay so
Roman alternates between being scared of Deceit and feeling extremely attracted to him
this, naturally, freaks Roman out
and he expresses this by getting more and more aggressive towards Janus
at some point, he panics and attacks Deceit
Deceit freezes with Roman’s sword to his throat. they stare at each other
before Janus sinks out
a day or so later, he comes back
all six hands up, ungloved, and open to show that he means no harm
“You win.”
“… What?” says Roman.
“You. Win. I’m tired of fighting you. Grant me one last request and you’ll never have to see me again.”
some buried part of Roman is conflicted. but his conscious self jumps at the opportunity. “What do you want, snake?”
“Dance with me.”
“… What.”
“Grant me the honor of one dance, my prince, and I’ll leave. You’ll never have to deal with my presence again.”
And Roman, wary of some trap but eager to be rid of the beautiful confusing disgusting snake, agrees.
They rise up in an elegantly decorated ballroom
dressed in a fancy suit (Roman) and an elegant ballgown (Deceit)
and they dance
at first, stilted and formal
keeping to the steps and no more
but then Janus seems to come to some internal conclusion
and folds himself in close to Roman
before spinning outwards, skirt swirling, and coming back in
and somehow, without Roman quite knowing why, they’re dancing.
flourishes, leaning into each other, Roman even lifting Deceit into the air at one point
and his heart keeps pinging strangely
aching
(familiar, this is familiar, you’ve done this before)
but eventually, the dance has to end
and they both come to a stop as the song finishes, panting heavily
Janus is smiling through his heavy breaths
and Roman finds he is too
but Janus’ smile cracks and falls and he steps back.
“Well,” he says. “That was the deal.”
and he lifts Roman’s hand, which somehow has his sword in it although it didn’t a second before, so that the blade is at his throat
just like the night before
“One quick cut ought to do it.”
Self Preservation exposes his throat to his beloved.
because he doesn't want to hurt Roman.
because this dance was his last selfish act before he gives up
one last moment to remember his prince by
and Roman pauses with his sword at Janus’ throat.
because Roman can't figure out why Janus, the evil self serving snake, wouldn't take an opportunity to hurt him to save himself
why he asked for this dance at all
why his arms around him felt like home
and all of a sudden
the memories he’s been denying all this time hit him like a truck
and he remembers
(after all that, Roman congratulates Janus on his idea to bring his memories back by dancing together)
(Janus smiles at him and changes the subject)
the barrier weakens the more that the lights feel comfortable around the darks.
the more that Thomas feels comfortable around them.
by the time everyone’s memory is back, it’s like it was never there at all.

Divi Theme Tips and Tricks: How to Create a Lightbox for Sections and Rows
How to popup a lightbox of any module, row or section with the Divi Theme. In this video we will be demonstrating how to create this feature using the Divi Button Module. We are going to create 2 buttons that will each pop up a different section when clicked. Today we will be demonstrating how to build this feature with the Divi Button Module and some pre written code from the Elegant Themes site (Link below!).
This is a very eye catching and a great interactive feature to have on your Divi site.
In this video we will cover:
Adding A Row, Adding A Divi Button Module, Adding A Class Name To The Section We Want To Popup, Adding A Scroll Shrink Size Effect To The Divi Text Module, Adding The CSS Code, Adding The JS Code, Adding A Class Name And Link To The Divi Button Module, Replicating With Another Button And Section.
We are going to be using the Divi theme to create some great effects in this series of videos. The Divi theme has some great modules and effects. With a little work you can achieve some great eye-catching effects to enhance the look and user experience of your website.
The Divi Theme is a popular website builder that offers a range of customization options, including various lightbox effects. Lightboxes are a common way to display images or other media on a website in a way that provides a more engaging and interactive user experience.
The Divi Theme offers several lightbox effects, including the standard Lightbox, Zoom, Fullscreen, and Slide-in effects. These effects can be used to display images, videos, and other media in a variety of ways, such as a gallery or a product showcase.
The Lightbox effect is the simplest of the effects, providing a standard overlay on the page that displays the media in a pop-up window. The Zoom effect allows the user to zoom in on the media, while the Fullscreen effect displays the media in a full-screen mode. The Slide-in effect is an animated effect that slides the media into view from the side of the screen.
All of these effects can be customized to suit the website's design and content, such as changing the background color or adding text captions. They can also be triggered by various user actions, such as clicking on an image or scrolling down the page.
Overall, the Divi Theme's lightbox effects provide an excellent way to enhance the user experience on a website, making it more interactive and engaging for visitors. So, follow along with the video and see how to popup a lightbox of any moduke, row or section, using the fantastic Divi Theme. [ID: a drawing of Patton and Remus. Patton sits on a counter and holds Remus' face. Remus stands in front of Patton with vaer hands around his waist. The two have their faces touching in a near kiss and are smiling and looking into each others eyes. They're in their canon outfits. Patton has light brown skin and moles. His hair and eyes are brown, and he has black stud earrings. He wears a brown leather watch. Remus has dark purple hair and pale freckled skin. Vaer eyes are red. A few hearts are doodled around the two. There's illustrative typography around them. Half of the font is bright green with a red shadow, and the quote is in a white speech bubble with a cyan shadow. The text reads: 'he said [quote: bill i believe this is killing me!" end quote] as the smile ran away from his face'. Remus and Patton are standing in a room, with a doorway and a shelf in the background. The room is dark and the entire image has a dark blue overlay.
images under the cut are a daylight version with yellow lighting and the lineart alone on a grey background. end ID.]
lyrics are from pianoman by billy joel
there is no reasoning behind the lyrics other than i think that this song is very intruality and i was listening to piano man and got inspired so
alt. versions under the cut
reblogs are highly appreciated, even if you dont have a big following!

Janus’s house was centuries old, but he was centuries older.
It had been built for him specifically, and had been renovated numerous times over the years. He knew it as well as he knew the back of his usually-gloved hand. Each winding hallway and trinket-filled room had been etched into his mind through familiarity.
Despite this, he still could not find his husband.
Remus had mysteriously disappeared from the dinner party they were hosting – leaving Janus alone with some predominantly very boring company – and Janus was just a little bit irritated. Now, he had to go find him. So, he had left his brother-in-law, Roman, entertaining the guests with some elaborate story about a play he’d been in, but that wouldn’t last long. He would need to return soon, hopefully dragging his husband along with him.
He marched down the hallway, pushing doors open as he passed them and peering through them into dark rooms, but he was unable to find his husband. He was not anywhere in sight, and Janus had already checked the majority of the house.
Janus let out an irritated sigh, stopping at the end of the hallway and turning around, his skirt swishing around his legs as he did so.
“Remus, you bastard,” he muttered under his breath. “Why on earth did I marry you again?”
He began to march back down the hallway, when he suddenly heard a noise coming from a closet that he passed. He stopped in his tracks, taking a few steps backwards so he was closer to it and straining his ears to listen.
Was that...?
Janus sighed again, reaching out and pinching the bridge of his nose in irritation for just a moment.
Was now really the time for this?
He strode over to the closet, placing his hand on the ornate handle. He then pulled it open, almost dreading what he was going to see when he looked inside.
Fortunately, neither of the men inside of the closet were naked. But Remus’s shirt was almost entirely unbuttoned, and the hand of one of their dearest friends – Patton – was placed on his stomach, creeping downwards. They were kissing passionately, and Janus saw a flash of tongue between their mouths.
They had not seemed to notice Janus, and Janus waited, tapping his foot against the wooden floor, impatient.
And, well, it wasn’t exactly the worst sight to see. In any other situation, Janus might not have complained. Remus was undeniably the handsomest man Janus had ever met – excluding his occasional decisions to avoid hygiene – and Patton was certainly not unattractive.
But they were hosting a dinner party, damn it. Now was not the time to sneak off to make out with your lover. Janus certainly wouldn’t have done that, and perhaps it had been naïve to hope that Remus would not either.
Perhaps, in hindsight, inviting Patton had been a mistake.
He waited, and Patton seemed to notice him first, pulling away from Remus, who chased his lips before he realised that Janus was watching them. Remus pulled back, grinning at his husband, his arms still wrapped around Patton
“Baby!” He said. “Do you want to join us?”
Patton’s face began to redden, and he coughed awkwardly, removing his hands from Remus and adjusting his crooked shirt collar. There was a smattering of fresh hickeys on his neck, though of course there wasn’t a single one on Remus. He healed far too quickly for Patton to be able to leave marks on him. Not that Patton had realised that that was the reason why Remus never let him try before.
Janus glared at Remus.
“Darling, did you forget that we were hosting a dinner party?” He said, his arms crossed. “Or were you too busy thinking with your dick to remember that?”
“Um. The second one?”
Janus sighed.
“You are unbelievable,” he said, before he turned to the awkward Patton, who – to his credit – looked quite sheepish. “May you give my husband and I a moment?”
“Oh, um. Sure,” Patton said. “And, uh, sorry, Jan,” he added sheepishly, running his fingers through his hair.
He glanced at Remus, who immediately grinned and winked at him, before blowing a kiss. Janus rolled his eyes, but Patton let out a giggle, covering his mouth with his hand, before he turned and walked away, back down the hallway.
Janus waited until he turned a corner and was out of sight, before he turned back to his smug husband. He walked over to him, and began to button up Remus’s shirt from the lowest button upwards.
“You know, I despise you sometimes,” he said.
Remus laughed. “Do you now?” He said, amused and like he absolutely did not believe him.
“Yes, I do.”
“Sure.”
Janus rolled his eyes, finishing buttoning up Remus’s shirt and now fixing his collar. His hands landed on Remus’s shoulders.
“You are quite the annoyance. You know that, right?”
“Yup!”
Janus sighed, smoothing out the wrinkles in Remus’s shirt.
“You know, I had a surprise prepared for you during dinner, but if you are going to act like this, I might just take it back.”
“No!” Remus whined. “No, I love surprises!” He grabbed Janus’s hands, cupping them in his own. “I promise, I will not sneak off again. I’ll stay and chat with all our so-boring guests.”
Janus gave him a look that showed that he absolutely did not believe him.
“Babe,” Remus said, attempting to be serious, for once in his life. “Would I lie to you?”
“Yes.”
They had been alive for centuries. It would have been impossible for Remus not to have lied to Janus in any of the numerous moments they had spent together. And Janus could come up with dozens of examples just off the top of his head. Remus wasn’t exactly the most honest of people, even with his husband. But neither was Janus, so he really couldn’t judge.
“Okay, but would I break a promise?”
Janus thought about it for a moment.
“Yes.”
“Okay, but I promise I won’t this time.”
Remus released Janus’s hands, closing his fingers into a fist, excluding the little finger, which still stuck out, like he wanted to make a pinkie promise.
“I would never break a pinkie promise. They’re too important,” Remus said seriously.
Janus rolled his eyes, but obediently linked his pinkie with Remus’s.
“I pinkie promise that I will not abandon you for the rest of this dumb party.”
“Thank you. But calling it ‘dumb’ is rather impolite, you know. I might just take offense to that.”
Remus flashed a grin. “You invited my dumb brother. That makes it dumb.”
“Your ‘dumb’ brother is currently entertaining our guests for us. We should be grateful for him, not insulting him behind his back.”
Remus blew a raspberry. “You and your dumb rules.”
Janus took one of Remus’s hands in his own, squeezing it.
“Let’s just return to the party, dear, before Roman runs out of interesting stories to tell.”
It would surprise Janus if Roman did run out of stories to tell, as he was just as ancient as Janus and Remus, though none of their guests knew that, so he had a limited number of stories he could tell without making them suspicious. But the majority of their guests had never been to a party at Janus and Remus’s house before, so Roman could retell all of his favourite, more modern stories to entertain them. His life, like Janus and Remus’s, had been quite the adventure.
Janus then began to lead Remus back down the hallway, towards the large room that their dinner party was held in. They passed numerous paintings of Janus and Remus hanging on the walls. Some were modern, but many were from years ago, created by artists who were long since deceased.
They were beautiful – just as beautiful as Janus and Remus – though Remus had despised sitting still for the amount of time it had taken to paint them. But he had done it, for Janus’s sake.
Soon, they arrived back at the large dining room, and they stepped through the large doors to see Roman surrounded by their wide-eyed guests.
“And that was when I took the knife from him, hit the handle against his temple and knocked him out cold,” he said, gesturing dramatically with his hands as he spoke. He did not seem to immediately notice Janus and Remus’s entrance.
Janus glanced at Remus, who rolled his eyes at his brother.
“Woah, you’re amazing,” said one of the guests, staring at Roman like he was some kind of god.
Roman smiled, and let out a charming laugh, one that had not changed in all the years he’d been alive.
“Well, thank you. I suppose I am.”
His eyes then landed on Janus and Remus, and he straightened up.
“Ah, Janus and Remus, you have returned! How wonderful.” He clapped his hands together. “Now, when will dinner be? I am quite famished.”
Janus checked his watch.
“Oh, about now,” he said. “Come on, let’s everyone take our seats.”
***
Janus was sat at one head of the table, and Remus was sat at the other. Their guests all had named cards dictating where they sat, and Janus had made sure that Remus and Roman would not be seated together. The last thing they needed was a brotherly argument to disrupt this wonderful evening.
Especially because Janus had a surprise prepared for Remus tonight.
Food had been served, along with a delicious red wine that Janus had picked out himself. He kept an eye on Remus’s glass in particular as they ate and, predictably, Remus drank more than anyone else.
Remus caught Janus’s eye halfway through one particularly long sip of wine, and Janus smirked at him. Remus stared at him for a little longer, before his eyes flicked away.
The two people sat on either side of Janus were dreadfully boring company, which made dinner just a little bit unbearable, and Janus regretted inviting them. They were colleagues at his new job – he liked to switch it up every once in a while – and he had wanted to make new friends there, but, apparently, they were all the dullest of people. But at least he had Roman to make the party more interesting, and Remus had Patton at his side, chatting happily with him. Janus was almost jealous, but he enjoyed Patton’s company, too. It was a shame that he was sat on the other side of the table from them.
Janus only half paid attention to the people speaking on either side of him. They were talking about work – about some case they had taken that Janus could not have cared less about – when suddenly, Remus started coughing.
His coughs were loud, drawing all attention to him, one hand covering his mouth and the other gripping tightly onto the table.
Janus could not help but smirk, lifting his glass of wine to his lips and taking a sip from it.
“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” Patton asked, placing his hand on Remus’s shoulder, a look of concern on his face.
Remus could not answer; he was too busy coughing.
Janus watched him smugly.
He stood up suddenly, kicking his chair back and knocking it over, and began to sway as he tried his best to straighten up, still coughing aggressively.
Janus took another sip from his drink, before he, too, stood up, a look of false concern appearing on his face, like he had just put on a mask with false features.
“Remus, darling, are you alright?” He asked.
He began to walk around the table, moving slowly towards Remus. But just before he could reach his husband, Remus collapsed to the floor. He landed with a loud thump, unconscious, and multiple people – including Patton – stood up from the table, gasping.
Roman stayed in his seat, sipping from his wine, and looking almost bored. He had been around long enough to be used to Janus and Remus’s shenanigans by now.
“Someone call an ambulance!” Patton exclaimed, moving towards Remus in a panic.
“Oh, not just yet,” Janus said, before anyone could pull out their phones. “Let me check on my husband, first.”
He reached Remus, kneeling down beside him.
“Did you poison him?” Roman asked, sounding like he already knew the answer to that, and also sounding quite bored.
Janus let out a fake gasp.
“Of course not! I would never hurt my husband!” He exclaimed. “How dare you accuse me of that!”
Roman snorted, taking another sip from his wine.
Patton looked stunned, looking between the two of them, before he turned back to Remus, his stunned expression turning back to an expression of worry.
“How do we help him? Do we call an ambulance?”
“I have my phone!” A woman said, standing up and waving her phone. “I can call an ambulance!”
Janus looked Remus over. He wasn’t breathing, and there was now a thin line of blood trickling out of his mouth and running down the side of his face. It dripped onto the floor, which was a shame. It would be an inconvenience to clean that up.
It was moments like this that made Janus wish they still had servants, but he had discovered that it was much harder to hide immortality and assassination attempts when they had people around them at all times.
Well, they would just have to clean up the blood themselves later.
“No, there’s no need for that,” Janus said calmly, retrieving a tissue from his pocket and wiping away the blood on Remus’s face, his touch gentle. “I am sure he’ll be quite fine.”
Patton stared at him, wide-eyed.
“But- but he’s hurt! He needs help!”
“He does not,” Janus said, standing up and turning to face his guests. “I assure you, Remus is going to be just fine.”
“But-”
As if they had planned it, Remus suddenly sat up, gasping loudly. His eyes were wide – wild – and he looked around at the stunned guests who were watching him, before his eyes finally landed on Janus, who smiled.
“Darling, I was wondering when you were going to wake up. It usually doesn’t take you so long.”
Someone behind him repeated the word ‘usually’, so quiet that Janus almost missed it, but Janus just ignored them. He simply smiled at his husband, holding out his hand to help Remus up. Remus took the hand, and Janus pulled him back up into a standing position. Remus swayed slightly – not completely better, but almost – and his gaze locked onto Janus’s eyes.
Janus stared back for a single moment, before he turned back to look over his stunned guests. Some of them looked worried, confused, even one looked downright horrified. Roman took another sip from his wine, looking almost... bored.
“Would you give my husband and I a moment?” Janus asked. “Enjoy your meals in our absence.”
Janus then wrapped his hand around Remus’s arm, and pulled him out of the room.
As soon as the door shut behind them, Remus grabbed Janus and smashed their mouths together. His lips tasted like blood, wine and poison. Delicious.
Remus’s hand made its way to the small of Janus’s back, pushing their bodies closer together, like he wanted them to fuse into one being. Janus’s arms wrapped around Remus’s neck, and he wanted nothing more than to keep kissing his husband forever.
When they pulled apart, it was because Janus wanted to take a breath. Remus chased his lips, pressing his to Janus’s with one more quick peck, before he pulled back, though his arms remained wrapped around Janus.
“Are you trying to poison me, too?” Janus asked, his voice breathy, but also amused.
Remus laughed, also sounding just a little out of breath. He nodded.
“Well, I suppose that’s fair enough,” Janus said. “But did you enjoy your surprise?” He continued, gently caressing Remus’s face with his hand.
“I adore you,” Remus said, which was its own answer.
Janus smiled, his hand cradling Roman’s cheek.
“I despise you, too.”
“Oh, I’m gonna get the best revenge for this,” Remus said with a grin, pulling Janus in closer.
“Will you now?” Janus said, looking his husband over, amused.
Remus nodded eagerly. “Oh, you’re going to feel so much pain. Maybe I’ll have you kidnapped! We haven’t done that before.”
He had not. Their attempted murders of each other was a new pastime of theirs. It was thrilling, the most exciting thing that had ever happened to their relationship, and Janus couldn’t get enough of it.
Janus hummed, tracing Remus’s cheekbone with his finger.
“Don’t give it away, darling. I’d love to be surprised.”
“It’s gonna be the best surprise ever,” Remus said excitedly. “Oh, I have so many ideas.”
“I cannot wait.”
Remus grinned, and then leant in and kissed Janus once more: just a quick peck, but still leaving the taste of blood, wine and poison behind.
“Can we-” he began to ask.
“No, Remus,” Janus interrupted him, already knowing exactly what Remus had been about to ask. “We have guests to entertain. And we need to make sure they don’t call the police if they’ve realised that I poisoned you.”
Remus pouted, giving Janus his best attempt at puppy-dog eyes, but Janus did not back down. He took Remus’s hand into his own and squeezed it.
“Come on, let’s return to dinner. We can do whatever you want later.”
Remus immediately perked up.
“Really?”
“Mhm,” Janus hummed with a nod. He squeezed Remus’s hand again. “Now come on.”
He led Remus back over to the door, and as he pushed it open, his mind was full of racing thoughts.
He had so many ideas for the next time he would attempt to murder his husband. Oh, it was just so exciting.

I feel like in the Sanders Sides fandom, ships people like usually come in sets. For example, if you like Prinxiety, you probably like Logicality and Demus. If you like Roceit, you have definitely seen Intrulogical and Moxiety. So, for science reasons, I challenge all of you in the fandom to reblog with your ship(s).
I, personally, prefer the original trio of ships (Pinxiety, Logicality, Demus), and literally any Janus ship.
