PLEASE DO THE SUGAR DADDY DREAM FIC. HOLYYYY SHIT!
Tumblr media
🤣🤣 I'm glad ya'll like the idea. So I'm definitely gonna write it now! I already have some what of a more detailed premise:
Alicia Washington is a 27-year old graduate student that is studying Architectural Design and Civil Engineering. However, at the beginning of her last year of graduate school, she learns that she doesn't qualify for the financial aid she usually applies for due to her father's new higher-paying job. It seems like all hope is lost until her best friend, Heidi, suggests that she join Sweeties, a website for sugar daddies and sugar babies to meet. Reluctantly, Alicia joins and makes a profile and immediately matches with Ed Blackridge. At first sweet and charming, he slowly begins to show his true colors and become completely obsessed and possessive of Alicia. His sudden change of behavior makes her run away and soon she falls into the arms of Robert Royal. But soon this transactional relationship blooms into something much more, much to Ed's dismay.
So yeah, I hope that peaked some more interest. 😏 Oh, and the working title for this one is gonna be "Sugar Baby". 🍬

For the soft prompts! ❛ keep it. it looks better on you. ❜ for Rulie?
It had started as a joke. Someone had asked Flynn and Carrie Who Wore The Pants In Their Relationship, which had lead to an epic slam down in the moment and another twenty minute rant back at the studio.
"It's not like anyone ever asks that of straight couples!" Flynn said, Alex and Willie nodding along.
"I mean," Willie said, kicking their legs out and flouncing their maxi skirt. It had pretty leaves and mushrooms on it. "They kind of don't have to with us. Even though Alex is the one who usually tammnprgh!" He stopped talking as Alex dove forward and shoved his hand over Willie's mouth.
To be a good bro, and only for that reason, no other reason at all, Reggie had looked at Julie and shrugged. "I dunno, Julie wears pants all the time, and I think I could rock a skirt if I wanted to. I have the legs for it."
Clearly it was a joke. He wasn't like Willie, he didn't... he didn't want to be called they as well as he, or anything. It wasn't like he sometimes saw Julie on stage and wondered what it would be like to hop around with a flouncy skirt. And he never trailed his hands over her dresses just to feel how soft they were, or fiddle with the tulle of that cool poofy skirt Willie wore sometimes when they sat next to him during movie night.
Except then Julie and Carrie and Flynn all got this glint in their eyes, and before he could laugh it off, they were dragging him to Julie's room, Willie's laughter echoing behind them.
And okay, maybe Reggie didn't fight too hard. Especially not when Julie unearthed a beautiful floofy black skirt from the depths of her closet, layers and layers of tulle. There were little rhinestones on it, sparkling like stars. She ushered Flynn and Carrie out of the room, before grinning at Reggie in a way that made his breath catch.
He flushed when she worked his jeans open, stumbling a bit in his haste to get them off. Except they weren't doing anything salacious. Instead, Julie helped him step into the skirt, pulling it up his legs, over his hips, her hands warm on his skin. When she zipped it up, the skirt came to just above his knees. The tulle tickled his bare legs, and when he moved, it rustled.
“Come on,” she said, pulling him towards her floor-length mirror. When he saw himself, he stopped breathing for a moment. It was so pretty. He was so pretty. Julie grinned, wrapping an arm around his waist. “You’re right. You do rock it.” He leaned into her gratefully, not able to take his eyes off himself in the mirror.
“You think so?” he whispered.
“I know so,” Julie said, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Now how about we show the girls?”
Flynn and Carrie were very excited (even if Carrie told him he should shave his legs or invest in some nice dark stockings). Reggie did a little twirl, loving the way the skirt fanned out. He grinned at Julie, before racing down the stairs, jumping over the last two steps just to feel the skirt flounce, and making his way to the studio.
“Oh dude, you look amazing!” Willie called from his place in Alex’ lap, beaming. Alex smiled at him, nodding.
“You look nice, Reg,” he agreed, laughing when Reggie showed them how it poofed out and bounced when he jumped. He kept it on all through band practice, hopping around even more than usual, letting Luke and Julie spin him. He felt free, and beautiful, and so damn joyful his heart could burst with it.
Then it was time to go home, though, and he regretfully fidgeted with one of the layers of tulle. “I guess I should give this back, then, huh?” he said, trying not to let show how sad that made him.
“Keep it,” Julie said, winding her arms around his neck and kissing him softly. He sighed against her lips, content and so damn lucky. “It looks better on you.”

Beautiful
For @60sec400 😁 Isn't it a lovely Juke Jeudi?! Enjoy!
(TW: Alcohol)
“You’re beautiful,” Julie slurs. She looks up at him, eyes big and dark, batting her long lashes at him.
And Luke just needs a moment. Releasing a long breath, he takes her in. Her eyes are glassy; her pupils are blown wide, and a blush is blossoming on her cheeks.
Julie isn’t totally drunk. But she isn’t sober, either. Neither is he, to be honest. Maybe that’s why it takes him so long to register her words. When he finally does catch up, his brain blanks, and he blinks, baffled.
“What?” he croaks, voice husky.
But Julie just giggles. The sound nearly makes Luke’s knees buckle. And then Julie suddenly raises an arm, hand reaching out. Luke sucks in a sharp breath and holds it. He’s bracing himself for the impact. His heart is thudding wildly in his chest.
Julie’s fingers come to rest on his left cheek - a gentle caress - and it takes Luke his entire willpower not to close his eyes and lean into the touch. He can’t. Julie is off-limits.
Years ago, when they had just been a bunch of kids with nothing but big dreams and raw talent, Luke realized that his feelings for Julie differed from those for Alex and Reggie. He loves Alex. He loves Reggie. But he is in love with Julie.
And that’s a problem. Because they are a band. A family. Over the years, Luke has seen many bands breaking apart over love affairs and internal quarrels. But Luke had never believed that it could happen to them. They were young and brave, and their bond was so much stronger. Music had tied them together for the rest of their lives. They were destined to be a band. As teen, Luke had genuinely deemed them invincible … until he got into an argument with Bobby. Luke can’t even recall the details of their fight. But things between them escalated quickly and drastically, and eventually, Bobby quit the band. That day, Luke learned a crucial lesson. They aren’t any different. They aren’t invincible.
So, when he met Julie (and naturally fell in love with her), Luke made a vow to himself. He can’t, under any circumstances, let Julie Molina know how he feels for her. The band must always come first.
Reggie thinks it’s a stupid plan.  Alex and Willie think it’s a stupid plan.  Flynn, Ray, Carlos, and his parents think it’s a stupid plan.  Even Aunt Victoria thinks-
(You get it; it’s a long list.)
Luke, on the other hand, thinks it’s brilliant. So, for all her cares, they can take their unsolicited advice and shove it up their asses. He’ll never confess his feelings to Julie.
And while his friends, his family, and maybe even the rest of the world know about his plan, Julie is blissfully unaware of it. That’s usually great. She’d kill him if she knew. But right now, it’s a fucking disaster because Julie’s too close. Way too close. He can feel the heat radiating off her skin. He can see the golden flecks shimmering in her big, beautiful eyes. Her hand is still cupping his cheek.
“You’re beautiful,” Julie repeats. This time, her voice is steady, and her eyes burn with fierce determination. She won’t back off. Luke’s resolve begins to crumble.
He copies her actions, hand coming up to cup her cheek. Reflexively, Julie nestles into his palm. Her lips brush against his skin. A shiver runs down his spine. He shudders.
Luke knows he should say something. Anything. Luke’s a songwriter, for fuck’s sake. A pretty awesome one. But when it comes to Julie Molina, his mind blanks. There are no adequate words to describe her. Julie isn’t just the sun, the moon, and the stars. She’s his entire universe.
His thumb brushes the soft under her eye.
“Julie.” It’s all he can say. It’s all that’s on his mind.
“Luke.”
It’s just his name. But there’s so much more to it. Care. Nervousness. Yearning. Love. So many emotions that mirror his own.
Then, Julie smiles at him. It’s warm and tender and brutally smashes Luke’s rules into pieces. (Right now, Luke can’t find it in him to care. He’s never been a believer in rules anyway.)
Luke searches her eyes one last time. There’s no sign of doubt. Only love. Luke’s heart thuds hard in his chest. He sucks in a breath (it could very well be his very last breath – another thing he wouldn’t mind), then he bridges the gap and kisses her.
In his dreams, Luke has spent hours imagining what kissing Julie Molina would be like. Her lips are soft and warm – just like he imagined. Oh, and so, so addicting. He didn’t quite expect the taste of rum and lime juice. But he considers that a bonus.
His right hand, once cradling her face, moves to her waist. His left hand follows soon. His fingers are splayed on her back. Julie is on her toes by now. Her arms loop around his neck, pulling him closer. Deeper. Her lips part. An invite. Luke would be a fool to reject it.
Kissing Julie is truly intoxicating.
Luke’s not sure what the future holds for them.
Maybe they’ll make it.
Maybe they won’t.
Maybe she’ll wake up tomorrow with the biggest hangover in history but no memories of their kiss. That would be … yeah, Luke’s not sure how he’d feel about that. But they’ve crossed the Rubicon. There is no going back. Not that Luke would want to go back. And he’s always been a spur-of-the-moment kind of person, anyway. Time will tell.
But he hopes.
And he clings onto that hope even when they have to break apart, gasping for air.
Even when Julie trips over her own feet, and he has to catch her, pressing her flush against his chest. Even when Julie’s head lolls onto his shoulder, suddenly asleep in his arms. Even when he hoists her up and carries her upstairs and tucks her in. Even when he leaves, and Julie’s front door shuts behind him.
He hopes.
Because he’s truly in love with Julie Molina.

Happy Juke Jeudi! I wanted to list a few juke Christmas themed fics for this Juke Jeudi for anyone that might be interested. I got a little help from @missjoolee and @preoccupied-educator. I’ve read most of these but not all. The following are listed in word count/size order, shortest to longest.
links under the cut
Peppermint and Chocolate   by  sanssssastark  rated T
He’s wanted to kiss Julie since he was thirteen years old and waiting three years to kiss someone leads to expectations of what that kiss might be like. Turns out, it was way better than every fantasy he ever had. Her lips were soft and warm and her hand clutched at his arm, curling around his bicep and he wished he’d worn a shirt without sleeves because he’d have given anything to feel her touch against his skin. The kiss was everything he imagined it would be.
He just never thought it would leave him this confused.
Christmas lodge by darylvdixon not rated but it’s G
Julie and Luke meet when both their families book to spend Christmas in a lodge on the mountains. It's love at first sight and they spend the whole of their holidays together.
Let Your Heart Be Light by MamiRugbee rated T
With Christmas approaching, Julie decides she wants to pay a visit to Emily Patterson. Unfortunately, Luke realizes things aren’t exactly how he remembers them.
call me babe for the weekend by blushandbooks rated M (and locked for ao3 members)
Julie Molina, Grammy-winning popstar and reluctant Seattle native, returns home to her family and old friends for Christmas - and also to escape rumors and drama back in Los Angeles.
Old friends include Luke Patterson: The ex-boyfriend she left behind for LA and the promise of a blossoming music career. Only, the music career is not what she wanted it to be, and Los Angeles has turned from a welcome escape to an unlikely prison, and the only place she wants to run to is the place (and the person) that knows her best.
At the end of the day, she'll just run back to LA and forget about Seattle all over again.
But the city, and Luke, have more of a grip on her than she expected.
Blame It On the Mistletoe by Courty rated T
In the two years since they met, Julie and Luke have been dancing around the connection between them, both too afraid they'll ruin the other's life they've worked so hard to build.
Good thing they have some friends who decide a little Christmas magic is in order.

Julie books a quiet winter retreat, but a typo has her turning up at the wrong cabin. Then a major snowstorm forces her to stay with Luke, whether she likes it or not. The problem is she likes it.

'Tis the Damn Season (hear me out) by IMaketheMonsters rated M
There’s nothing like coming home the week of Christmas and discovering you’re still in love with a worm-eater.
OR: the Home for the Holidays!AU that no one asked for
those cold December nights by Labyrinthinee rated M
Sure, Luke's life hadn’t turned out exactly how he wanted it to.
If anybody had told his eighteen-year-old self, that ten years down the road, he’d spent a Friday evening at his friend’s home, not on stage at some shady club, rocking his heart out, Luke would’ve never believed them. But, he couldn’t say that he was unhappy. He had a good job, amazing friends and was invited to dinner at his parents’ place once a week. So, to be frank, he wouldn’t change a thing.
Of course, that's when Julie Molina stumbled back into his life.

the lucky one (i think it might be you) by itsagamefortwo rated T
“So you know who I am then,” it’s not really a question but Luke shrugs anyway, turning to glance at her quickly before looking back at the road.
“And you know who I am,” he pauses so long Julie thinks that’s all he’ll say on the matter but then he speaks again, and she can just make out the hints of a smile through the shadows on his face, “Reggie posts a lot on instagram stories. You’re in a lot of them.”
“I recognised your hat. From your christmas card,” she offers and feels her own lips pulling into a smile at his bark of laughter.   aka julie needs to get the hell out of la for a few days and finds herself in a small town with a familiar face just as a snow storm rolls in.

While You Were Sleeping by ICanSpellConfusionWithAK rated T
AU of the romcom While You Were Sleeping.
Julie doesn't have a lot going for her other than her fantasies about Nick, the cute guy she sees at work and her dreams of marrying him one day. When she saves his life only for him to end up in a coma with his family thinking she's actually his fiancee things get really complicated really fast. They get even more complicated once she meets his brother Luke and the two start to fall for each other. Julie just needs to wait for Nick to wake up and get back to her normal life only things are never that simple. It's time for Julie to decide what...and who...she really wants.

Merry Ex-Mas by Bluefire510 rated T
The one thing Julie Molina hates more than Christmas is Luke Patterson, her former boyfriend and current pain in the ass.
But when her little brother and his best friend embark on a journey to the North Pole for Operation: Save Santa, she's forced to team up with her ex to wrangle them back home in time for Christmas.
It goes as well as expected...

Hi! Hope you had a good weekend! I was wondering if you’d possibly be interested in writing a story where reader is juggling work-life balance as a vigilante (like Batman). For example, she ends up falling asleep throughout the day or has to cover up injuries from fights (ex: wearing long sleeves or sunglasses) and Alfred Molina character (ex: Otto, Oswald, or Maxim) begins to notice these things and voices these concerns as he really cares about her despite the reader not knowing his feeling’s for her as she thinks he’s interested in someone else. However, she says she’s fine and goes on about her day. Maybe also some jealousy comes into play as he notices her hanging out with Bruce Wayne (ex: perhaps accompanying him to a charity ball, going to the beach, etc.) and rest of the bat gang when in reality they all see one another as a family.
Really sorry for this long and specific request but I just love the fact that you combine the superhero genre with your Molina stories. Don’t worry if you can’t. Just happy that you always put love into your stories as well as consider your readers input. Keep up the good work!

14 ("Across the room smiles") or 16 ("The “I’m in love with you and can’t stop grinning like an idiot” smile ") for the cute smiles juke prompts, please. :) (Can't decide. Both are too good.)
this was requested way too long ago but I’ve been in a severe writing slump so it took me too long 🥲 anyway, these prompts are from this post by @me-writes-prompts !! I thought I wanted to take requests but I quickly found out I do not have the bandwidth 😅 so here is a cute lil juke fic in the meantime! it is a mess but it is Juke so oh well. I also couldn’t choose one prompt so I did both and that’s why this is so long 😌
~
Julie would never get tired of this.
The sound of different voices overlapping and lots of laughter filled the room. She watched as her dad showed Willie the various features in his newest camera, Willie listening with rapt attention.
In the kitchen, Tía was bustling around and giving Reggie instructions as he tried to keep up with the many years of cooking some of the best meals Julie has ever tasted under her belt.
Flynn and Carlos were setting the table together, chatting about who knows what.
It’s become a tradition to spend their birthdays all together. One they’ve carried since they were kids—lost teenagers just trying to make it big in the music industry. Back when Julie met Luke, Reggie and Alex and they immediately became part of the Molina family which already consisted of her Dad, Carlos, Victoria and Flynn. Flynn introduced Alex to Willie and their family was pretty close to complete.
The warm rush of love that flooded her system was something she never got tired of.
And now as she watched their family get ready for her birthday dinner, Julie couldn’t be happier with the way her life was turning out.
She watched as Luke walked into the dining room, tapped Carlos on his left shoulder as he passed him, and swiped his finger through the frosting on the cake tía made.
Just as Luke successfully licked the frosting off his finger, Carlos caught on to Luke’s antics and it turned into both boys trying to put the other in a headlock.
Flynn rolled her eyes and continued setting the table but Julie could see a small, fond smile grace her face.
Luke ended up overpowering the younger boy, much to Carlos’s dismay but they both laughed as Luke let him get back to his task. It was when he took a step back and Julie could tell he was also surveying the room and the people he loved all in one space, that his eyes finally caught hers.
His smile is bright and soft at the same time, lighting up his features and simultaneously making her insides turn to mush.
“Mija, deja de mirar a tu novio,” Victoria called from the kitchen. “Your father and I need you in the kitchen, por favor.”
Julie felt her cheeks burn. She glanced back at Luke, his smile turning amused and he shot her a wink as she made her way into the kitchen.
But the light and airy feeling she got from Luke quickly dissipated when she saw her dad and aunt bent together talking seriously. It’s eerily reminiscent of a time she was still all too familiar with, the day her parents sat her down to tell her Rose was sick.
“Papí? What’s going on?”
“Julie! Nothing, mija,” Ray startled, waving a hand in the air. “We just wanted to talk with you.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Of course, sobrina,” Victoria assured her. “We’re just so proud of you and the woman you’ve become.”
“You’ve grown up so beautifully, and I know your mom would be so proud of you too,” Ray agreed. “Especially in the way you’ve formed a band with the boys and created a wonderful life for yourself.”
Julie nodded, their words comforting but also making her heart ache at the reminder of the many milestones her mother didn’t get to see. Where were they going with this?
“And we couldn’t be happier for you, that you’ve found such a wonderful partner in Luke,” Victoria said.
She smiled at the mention of Luke. “I’m glad you feel that way.” Julie glanced back and forth between them, still not quite sure what was going on. “Where are you two going with this?” It wasn’t entirely out of character for them to be saying any of this, but it seemed almost out of nowhere.
“Mija it’s your birthday, can’t your old dad get a little emotional?” Ray teased.
“My birthday was a few days ago,” she corrected with a teasing smile before she pulled them both into a hug. “I love you guys…. even when you act weird.”
They both chuckled before Julie pulled back and a hand sliding into place on the small of her back made her jump.
She turned to see Luke waiting for her, eyes sparkling with something she couldn’t decipher. “Hey Jules. Follow me?” He slipped his hand into hers without waiting for an answer (it was always yes and he knew that) and led her through the door to the backyard.
“Luke, what’s going on?”
“Have I told you how insanely talented I think you are?”
“Only when you’re deflecting,” she shot back, and the shit eating grin he sent her should’ve annoyed her, but it only made butterflies swoop in her belly.
“You mean you don’t want to write in the studio the way we used to?”
Julie raised a curious brow at him even as they continued to walk through the yard toward the gate that led to the garage turned studio. “Oh yeah? And what song are you working on?”
“A really special one,” he told her over his shoulder as they walked through the gate and made their way down the stairs. “I want your opinion on it.”
Julie remembered the countless times they made this exact walk as teenagers, when Luke would rush into her room or even up to her locker at school going on excitedly about a song or an idea he had.
Or the many times she snuck out here in high school because she knew Luke was taking refuge in the studio, away from his parents and the constant arguing that plagued their home.
Or any time he met her out there, all the band practices they had, writing sessions like he’d just mentioned, or when she missed her mom so much, Luke would bring her out here to cuddle up and talk or nap together. She always felt closest to her mom in the studio and to share so many wonderful memories of Luke and the boys there meant so much to her.
It truly was a magical, happy place for Julie and for their relationship.
Despite this, when they finally reached the doors and Luke pulled them open, Julie’s jaw still dropped in shock.
Twinkling lights were strung from the ceiling, just barely touching the chairs hanging from the ceiling. White sheets were draped around the studio to cover the walls, with numerous candles and flower petals scattered across every surface creating a warm glow from inside.
It was the most beautiful the studio had ever looked in her memory. She walked further inside, still in awe that Luke did it. It must’ve taken him so long to set it all up and find the time in between their recording schedule to sneak out here and put it together.
Julie turned toward the man in question only to find him down on one knee. “Luke,” she breathed, her hand covering her mouth. She shouldn’t be surprised. They’d both discussed marriage and their future and both agreed they wanted that together. She just didn’t think it was happening now.
He gently took her free hand and squeezed. “Julie, I have loved you since the minute I saw you sitting in the back of Harrison’s class sophomore year. And then you immediately called me out because I didn’t recognize a Paramore song another kid was performing.”
She giggled at the memory, remembering her outrage that Luke couldn’t identify Misery Business. “How can you be in a pop rock band if you don’t know Paramore??”
“I know now!” His eyes sparkled with amusement that matched her own. “Little did I know then that as soon as we became friends, it was over for me. You have made me a better person, a better writer and a better musician and I hope to continue to do the same for you. I can’t imagine living out my dreams with anyone else.” Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, carefully opening it to reveal a familiar, simple princess cut diamond ring.
It was her mother’s ring, glittering in the light of the studio and as beautiful as Julie remembered.
Her eyes flickered from the ring to Luke’s face. “How did you… where did you get this?” Even as the words left her mouth, she already knew the answer.
“Your dad said you’ve been eyeing this ring since you were old enough to talk,” Luke said as he plucked it from the box and held it up to her. “He knew your mom would want you to have it now.”
Julie felt tears prick the corner of her eyes, her grief attempting to make itself known once again. If only her mom was here, waiting inside the house with the rest of her family to celebrate with them. To plan the wedding, calm her nerves the day off, walk her down the aisle with her dad. But Julie knew her mom would be there with her, just like she always was. “If there’s a will, there’s a way,” Rose would always tell her.
Her dad and tía’s behavior suddenly made sense too. Why hadn’t she realized sooner??? She could be upset with Flynn for not clueing her in sooner…
But how could she feel anything but bone crushing, all consuming love for the man in front of her?
“I know you miss your mom, Jules,” he said, as if to prove the point she hadn’t even voiced out loud. “I know you wish she were here, and I do too. But the best I can do is to bring you here where I know you feel closest to her.”
Luke was her musical partner, her co-writer, her rock, her best friend, her comfort, and her home. She wanted all of him: the good and bad and whatever life threw at them. Julie wanted Luke by her side forever, and she was sure Rose would approve.
“Julie, baby,” Luke addressed her finally. “Will you marry me?”
She nodded as a few tears escaped down her cheek. “Yes! Yes, of course, I will.”
Luke’s grew so big she was sure it had to hurt his face. He slid the ring onto her finger before standing up to cup her face. “These are happy tears, yeah?” His thumb swiped them away.
Julie laughed, albeit shaky and nodded again. “Yes, Luke.”
“Good because otherwise me kissing you in a minute is gonna be a little awkward,” he joked before leaning in to capture her lips with his own.
She pulled back after a beat, pressing her forehead to his. “I love you too, you know.”
Luke’s eyes opened, glancing at her expression before a familiar smile takes over his face once more.
“What?” she asked, a mirroring smile blooming across her face.
“I’m just so in love with you. I can’t believe how lucky I am that I’m the Julie Molina’s fiancé.”
Her responding eye roll is lost in the mess of kisses Luke presses over her face.

The Selk'nam's quest for recognition in Chile by Marcio Pimenta and Nina Radovic Fanta
"About 500 years ago, the Portuguese explorer Hernando de Magellan discovered a maritime passage in the extreme south of the planet, a region unknown to Europeans at the time, a place they would come to call "Tierra Australis Incognita." The discovery, in effect, was the first globalization of modern society. The sea passage itself was named the Strait of Magellan. In the 19th century, other Europeans and their descendants would arrive, this time to stay. Men who had already domesticated plants and animals and who upon arriving in what is now called Tierra del Fuego found hunter-gatherers who had lived there for more than 10,000 years. That indigenous group would become to known as Selk'nam. The encounter between hunter-gatherers and the colonizer farmers led to a defacto death penalty for the Selk'nam. A tragedy that is still the order of the day. Considered extinct in the history books and laws written by the victors, yet the survivors claim to be alive. And now they fight for recognition.
In Chile, a century has passed, and a dictatorship, without the Selk'nam genocide being addressed. This began to change only recently, in the 2010s, thanks to the Internet, when web users searching for their origins could now find each other. Now, together, the Selk'nam face the process of decolonizing and denaturalizing the historical perspective, of recovering and rethinking what happened to them. They have created community centers where family experiences, stories and memories are shared and the truth is confronted. The Selk'nam are organized in entities such as Corporación Selk'nam and Comunidad Covadonga-Ona, both in Chile, and Comunidad Rafaela Ishton, in Argentina, to fight for their rights, starting with the recognition that they still exist, that they are not yet extinct. It is a living people. Comunidad Rafaela Ishton has existed since the 1980s and was one of the first to obtain legal jurisdiction in Argentina. In 1994, the Selk'nam were recognized as an indigenous people by the Argentine state. More than 600 families, in total about 1000 people, identify themselves as Selk'nam in that country. Hema’ny Molina, president of the Corporation Selk’nam Chile, and Miguel Pantoja, member of the Community of Rafaela Ishton, do not accept to be seen as “descendants” of the Selk’nam. “I am not a descendant, I am Selk’nam,” says Pantoja. “I have to explain myself and think about myself– it’s something violent,” he continues. Molina, in agreement, adds: “I always knew that I was Selk’nam but that does not mean to live as such or understand how to do it. There are various, complex layers. For many years there was a feeling of loneliness as we were unaware of the existence of other families. It was a feeling of emptiness and complete solitude. Who am I going to talk to? Who am I going to tell? Will people believe me?”
In Chile, Corporación Selk'nam won legal jurisdiction in 2015. The organization has more than 50 members and their families, in total, number about 200 people. According to the 2017 Chilean census, 1,144 people identified themselves as Selk'nam. Still, the Chilean state does not recognize the existence of the Selk'nam as a people. The Corporation Selk'nam fights for the inclusion of the Selk'nam in the list of "main ethnic groups" recognized by the Indigenous Law No. 19,253, of 1993.
They have the help of researchers from two Chilean universities: Universidad Católica Silva Henríquez and the Universidad de Magallanes. Alejandro Núñez Guerrero, director of the Centro Universatario of the Universidad de Magallanes in Porvenir, Chile, has been forging agreements to carry out more field research. Among their findings so far, it was recently discovered that the first settlers' ranch on Tierra del Fuego was built on the Chilean side and not on the Argentine side, as previously believed, and that the Selk'nam are actually more numerous on the island.  All of this are fundamental facts in the recognition process.
For their part, Héctor Vásquez Chogue, former vice-president of the Covadonga Ona community, and his brother, José Luis Vásquez Chogue, secretary of the Selk'nam Corporation, have been on a personal quest for more than thirty years. The recent journey of self-discovery as Selk'nam has also turned into a tour of endless meetings with Chilean politicians to incorporate the Selk'nam into the Indigenous Law. The main objective is to make them known as living Selk'nam, as a modern and integrated people, unlike what is currently taught. "It is difficult to say who I am, because the State does not recognize us," says José.
The Selk'nam hope to receive official recognition in early 2022, the deadline which the Chilean state has given the community to prove they are alive."

Encanto OC Event Week 2
Part 1: Tomás Herrera & The Madrigals
For this week about OC relationships, this'll be a perfect opportunity for me to introduce a couple background OCs that I wasn't able to last week. In order to prevent an insane amount of clogging I've decided to split the info into multiple posts, starting with the Madrigals' relationship with my favorite Just Some Guy: Tomás Herrera!
Tomás, like many other villagers within the Encanto, has lived his life understanding that the Madrigals were special people with incredible abilities. He's grown up respecting them as such, but eventually he'll come to find himself being taken in as one of their own and adopting their name - and their legacy. But though Tomás is happy to marry the love of his life and join her family, doing so comes with some difficulty adjusting to the new environment: he's gone from a household of four, to three, to two, to over a dozen. Everything gets so busy and bustling so quickly, and initially it's a little hard to keep up; for the first few years under Casita's roof, Tomás feels decidedly "un-ceptional" and like an outsider who is a Madrigal in name only. But as years go by and he gets more comfortable with all the new activity, responsibilities, and magic, he'll come to accept himself as being where he belongs just as the rest of the family already has.
Tumblr media
In regards to Camilo Madrigal:
Tomás and three of his good friends (Santiago Torres, Cristián Vargas, and Rafael Molina) bond with Camilo as they and the rest of the town help to rebuild Casita after the events of the movie. Camilo had his own friends his age, of course, but there was something special to him about being taken in by a patch of older boys and being considered one of their own. He's simply Little Brother Shaped!
Tumblr media
Though all four of them have their own dynamics with Camilo, Tomás and Camilo grow very close despite their seemingly conflicting personalities. Camilo aims to help Tomás loosen up and come out of his shell in ways he likely wouldn't attempt to do on his own, and in return Tomás offers Camilo stable and level-headed advice that is a welcome change in perspective from the kind he gets at home.
Of course they can get on each other's nerves, namely when Tomás won't budge or when Camilo's joking goes too far. But all in all they're a bulletproof duo, where Camilo gets the older brother he never had and Tomás gets to be the older brother he should have had.

In regards to Luisa Madrigal:
Tumblr media
The experiences Tomás had growing up alongside Luisa Madrigal weren't unique nor exclusive only to him. He's hardly the first or only villager she's extended her hands to over the years - but from mundane favors to quite literally saving his life, everything Luisa has ever done for Tomás has meant the world to him, even if to her they were simply her duties as a Madrigal.
But despite what he may have believed, Tomás hadn't been completely invisible to Luisa. She knew him well enough as someone she grew up and went to school with, and though she was indeed doing what she needed to, she never really forgot any time she helped him (or anyone else). If anything, he was a friend to her!
What really sealed Tomás's fate was a moment he witnessed something he wasn't meant to, one that helped him recognize that someone as unremarkable as him and someone as special as her actually could have something in common: the mindset that one's own feelings could be ignored when there were more important things to worry about. From there admiration blossomed ruthlessly into a hopeless crush, and though it took him a while to be able to pull it off, he relayed his feelings to her through a simple gift: a hand carved wooden dove for her 20th birthday.
As a couple they compliment each other nicely, though in a different way than Tomás's friendship with Camilo. They are each other's pillar; his emotional stability allows him to support her in her time of need, whereas he feels safe and at ease when she's around. Luisa can very well take care of herself, this she and everyone else knows... but sometimes it's nice to sit back and let herself be treated like a princess, something Tomás is always more than happy to oblige. There's little room for arguments or disagreements between them, provided they don't try to out-martyr each other - sometimes it is necessary for one to wring true feelings and thoughts out of the other like they're pulling teeth. But they can't hide from each other, and over time it becomes much easier for them to be open and accept that maybe their feelings do matter when someone is willing to listen.
He is her osito. She is his paloma. he's so in love with her it makes him look stupid

In regards to the other Madrigals:
Bulletpoints to make things go a little more quickly--
Julieta, as his future mother-in-law, is the closest thing Tomás has had to a mom since his own's passing. He's bashful around her for a while, even moreso when he gets the greenlight to start calling her Ma. He comes to enjoy helping her in the kitchen periodically, as he already has cooking experience from living with his father.
He wants to make a good impression on Agustín very much, despite how remarkably easy it is to get on the man's good side - all Tomás really had to do was promise to take care of his daughter and Agustín was sold. Tomás would like Agustín to teach him how to play piano but he doesn't know how to ask.
Mirabel, by virtue of hanging out with Camilo a lot, ends up getting close to Tomás as well. Tomás doesn't know how he ended up with not one but two teenage ducklings following him around but he's not mad about it. When Tomás and Luisa become engaged, Mirabel gifts him with an embroidered vest that he wears all the way up until the wedding.
The only problem Tomás has in regards to Antonio is that he's terrified of wild animals. Antonio himself is a perfectly sweet kid and Tomás is kind to him when he wants to socialize, but he'll be a little on edge if Parce decides to tag along. It likely takes years for him to get used to having the denizens of the jungle waltzing around the house, but he comes to trust Antonio to keep a handle on them.
Alma intimidates the hell out of him, especially since he's in a very Agustín-like position of probably not being her first choice to wed one of her grandchildren. But he'll prove himself to her in how devoted he is not only to Luisa but to Camilo as well, and eventually earn her blessing (to which he's both grateful and relieved).
Similarly, Isabela is a little tough on him at first and is the one to give him the third degree when she finds out he's involved with her baby sister. She recognizes he's kind of a marshmallow soon enough though and eases up on him after that. There's a cordial mutual fascination between the two and their skillsets, given Isa's ability to conjure trees and Tomás's ability to turn those trees into something new.
Tomás and Dolores are shaking hands over being exasperated by their goofy little brother Camilo, but beyond that their lowkey personalities mesh quite well. Oddly enough, between Dolores's Gift and Tomás's natural observational skills, the two tend to have enough information between them to quietly discuss goings-on around town.
Pepa and Félix are a little more removed from Tomás due to him being a cool color family addition, but as housemates there's still interactions to be had. Félix's extroversion brings a lot of energy Tomás doesn't always know what to do with and Pepa's storms take some time to adjust to, but all three of them readily agree on how much they care about Camilo and that's all that's really needed to keep the harmony.
Bruno keeps to himself more often than not and Tomás wholeheartedly understands. That said, once Tomás gets a good read on how Bruno operates and how best to approach him, they're able to have a rather polite rapport. The rats skeeve Tomás out a little but they're no big deal compared to things like jaguars and anacondas, thus Tomás can be convinced (by Mirabel and/or Camilo) to offer his talents and build little sets for Bruno's telenovelas.
Mariano is in the same boat as being a mundane marrying into a very non-mundane family, and with the added history of being casual friends beforehand Tomás ends up gravitating towards him as they adjust to their new lives as Madrigals. They, along with Camilo, end up becoming more or less the second generation parallels to the Madriguys that came before them - Tomás's Agustín to Mariano's Félix to Camilo's Bruno.

Part 2 will be coming shortly! Then, as I'm fairly certain it's already technically Week 3, the post for that week's prompt will follow sometime soon after.

Okay but the generator gave me Alien Invasion AU and Imprinting AU and now I need it, for any pairing
Ok but like. . .
So in trying to be all which type of imprinting my brain went all “why not more than one?”
Reggie, Alex, Luke, are part of the Alien Invasion, but like, really early first wave. See, the Alien species has been studying earth for a while and have noticed the human trend to adopt other species and have decided to use that to their advantage.
What the Aliens don’t expect is for some of their first wave to be too young and form pack bond/familialy imprint on some of the species they first encounter.
Which in the case of Reggie, Alex, and Luke is Julie. (Though over the course of the story Reggie and Luke would both question their bond with Julie. Reggie especially after he develops a second familial imprint on Ray and none of them have heard that happening before-though to be fair to them most of their education regarding their Alien culture was limited, they were in a sort of hypersleep for most of their lives/the journey to Earth. Plus, no one knew how that particular part of their physiology would interact with Humans and their pack bond tendency)
This leaders of this first wave decide on their own to sort of forgo the original plans and to just integrate with life on Earth.
So all of Earth is dealing with how to do that exactly, many still advocating to eliminate the Aliens, others are very interested in learning about the advanced technology, others don’t want to risk incurring an alien species wrath. There’s a lot of background political drama.
Meanwhile, Ray decides to go ahead an open up his home to Reggie, Luke, and Alex. Carlos is ecstatic, Flynn is suspicious but can definitely see how the three are helping the Molina’s.
Julie is just frustrated. She did not ever in her life expect to be treated like a mother duck, with three Aliens following around her like ducklings…or maybe they’re closer to a pack of puppies or energetic kittens. She feels a bit of guilty relief when Reggie eventually switches to following her dad around, eager to learn all about life on earth from him.
The relief is heavily outweighed by Luke(and to some extent Reggie) acting weird around her in ways that Alex doesn’t. She’d almost think they were sometimes jealous if she didn’t know better. (She’s also wrong but that revelation doesn’t happen til later)
Things get more complicated when a second wave of Aliens shows up a few months after the first. This one follows a similar pattern to the first wave, however with a touch more hesitancy. They haven’t formed the same bonds and still recall the overall end goal was complete takeover of the planet.
This is around the time Alex runs into Willie, who as it turns out was actually apart of some of the last of the investigative research/preparation teams. He arrived a few weeks before the first wave did.
Two important revelations occur with the introduction of Willie. First, Alex and Willie imprint on more of a mate level and Alex, after getting over that joyous shock, realizes that’s how Luke and Reggie imprinted with Julie. They’re all just too young/dumb to have noticed/realized sooner.
Secondly, Caleb is part of the second wave. Willie used to work with/for him and knows Caleb is a major advocate for the world domination thing and was old enough to not have formed any of the bonds/imprints as others. There are also more older aliens who are very likely to rally around Caleb in this second wave.
That’s as far as I have gotten plot wise…but I also love the idea that Trevor was among an earlier alien research party and just refused to leave, which then makes Carrie half Alien and adds a whole other level of drama when that comes to light.

"You know, because of colour theory" totally sounds like something Willie would say
Throwing a housewarming party for the house they bought was something that Alex had always felt would feel very Adult. Like, they had a dining room table now. This was less 'paying your friends in pizza and beer for helping you move' (though they'd done that too) and more 'inviting your friends over a few weeks later to look at how adult you were with your unpacked house and freshly painted walls'.
The dining room table was set. There were even fresh flowers on the table, because they owned a vase now. Sure, the dinnerware was still all mismatched but it was on purpose, because Alex couldn't make up his mind on what he liked and Reggie liked thrifting and Willie enjoyed the chaos of it all. It was an aesthetic choice.
They'd gotten a grill, and Ray was on the patio showing Willie and Reggie how to use it. Alex was happy to let them, since Willie loved playing with fire and Reggie loved spending time with Ray. He preferred to be in the kitchen, checking on the garlic bread, making people drinks before getting overwhelmed and Julie reassuring him 'we know where the fridge is, don't worry about it'.
He didn't feel like a real adult. Not even with the cute little house and his two handsome boyfriends - partners, all of them on the title, which was a huge step, almost as big as marriage - and his dining room table and their beautiful homemade mailbox with all their names on it.
He wondered if he ever would, looking out from the kitchen to watch their friends mingling, Carrie and her Candis taking in the gallery wall, Luke impressed with the charcuterie board Alex had made in an attempt to make it feel like a real adult party, Julie and Flynn impressed by the bookshelves they'd put up.
Two arms snaked around his waist, and Reggie pressed a kiss to his neck. "You okay, babe?" Alex relaxed into him.
"Yeah," he said. "Just thinking about how I still don't feel like a real adult."
Reggie laughed. "That's why we have Ray. Or if we really fuck up, Julie's aunt. You know, adultier adults."
And yeah, all three of the had been pretty much adopted into the Molina family, given their own families of origin were either gone or awful. They were their own family now. Maybe that was the real meaning of adulthood.
"Stop worrying and go enjoy the party, I'll finish setting the table and stuff," Reggie said, ushering him out of the kitchen.
"Don't forget the garlic bread," Alex warned him, and went to move to join people in the living room.
Except as soon as he turned around, he heard a squelch, and a gasp, and Reggie saying 'oh no'.
He whirled around to see their kitchen, their freshly painted, freshly cleaned, perfect kitchen, covered floor to ceiling in ketchup.
"What..." he managed, as Reggie stared at him with wide eyes. The glass bottle of ketchup - because glass looked more adult than the squeezy bottles, Alex remembers thinking in the supermarket - was still in his hand. "How?"
"I was gonna give it a good shake before putting it on the table!" Reggie said helplessly.
Oh no.
"I'd already loosened all the lids," Alex said. This was all his fault. He hadn't warned Reggie. And now their kitchen was ruined.
"I'm so sorry, Alex, don't be mad," Reggie started, and Alex wasn't mad at anyone but himself. Thankfully Reggie was mostly ketchup free, so Alex grabbed some paper towels to wipe his hands and pull him into a hug. Reggie freaking out would only make him freak out. Reggie buried his face in Alex' shoulder for a moment, before collecting himself.
"Oh man, it looks like a children's hospital in here," Willie said, coming in with a plate of burgers. At Alex' confused stare, he elaborated: "You know, because of colour theory?"
That did not clear anything up, but Reggie giggled.
"I don't want to know," Alex decided. "Go serve people while I clean up this mess."
In the end, they did not need an 'adultier adult', because one of the Candis knew how to get ketchup stains off of freshly painted walls. She helped him get the worst off, and saved the garlic bread from the oven, and they joined the dinner.
And finally Alex felt a little more like an adult than he had. They'd had their first minor disaster in the house and none of them had freaked out or needed to call in a Real Adult. He was taking it as a win.

So I dream of juke occasionally and since i dont have any wip i feel confident sharing just yet, I thought i'd share the texts from the gc the morning after I'd had a pretty vivid dream that i still think about randomly even though i don't have it in me to write as a full fic. if it doesn't make sense, feel free to ask questions. May or may not have answers. So enjoy!
------
Something like. They had been together but for reasons (supernatural), they had to split up. And friends and family had to choose which person to follow, loosing the ability to communicate with the other side.
With the parting, their memories of their time together was altered a la sin eater style in nancy drew
The only ones with altered memories are luke and Julie
But one day Luke's true memories return and he wants to check up on her.
He sees her from afar, but one of the friends that took Julie's side spots him and approaches. They try and tell him something but his brain literally goes fuzzy/white snow, unable to retain what they say
But through multiple tries and focusing solely on reading their lips instead of listening he gets it.
"Something is wrong with Julie and rose"
Which is not part of the supernatural deal they made
So knowing that it's already been broken by the malicious evil party, Luke approaches Julie to help.
But
Rose is sick
And Julie's memories have been altered so heavily she doesnt recognize/remember him. She knows she had an intense relationship but not him
And so he kinda just reinserts himself into her life with the molina and flynns help
And she feels comfortable around him right away
And its like a part of her does know him
Which is what gives Luke hope
*Julie fully forgetting Luke, along with rose getting sick was what led someone to tip Luke off

Yeah @innytoes has captured me with fae magic and now I'm hooked on her Kidnapped by the Fae AU so... I'm sorry.
Alex couldn't sleep. Like he actually physically couldn't fall asleep. Everyone else had gone to bed hours ago. Even Willie had drifted off on the couch, their breaths coming out in little adorable hums. But Alex couldn't drift off, no matter how hard he tried.
When he closed his eyes, all he could see were the dark trees, the twinkling lights, the swirling figures, the constant demands for faster, Faster, FASTER! as his hands flew over the drums. And his own body, helpless to do anything but obey. To serve his master. With pure devotion and without question.
Each time the fae went to sleep, Alex never could. The feeling of suddenly having control of his own limbs was too odd. Too unfamiliar. Too much.
And now it was like that all the time. If he wanted to stand up, he could. If he wanted to stay exactly where he was, no invisible strings stopped him. It was incredible. It was freeing. It was terrifying.
Because with no one to tell him what to do and where to go, no intangible hand on the back of his neck directing him, how could he know if he was doing it right?
The Molinas had been kind so far. They'd allowed them to live in their garage, eat their food, even loaned them some of the father's old clothes to wear. They'd shown them the magic of new technology, though that wasn't always the smoothest lesson. Alex grimaced at the memory of when sparks had suddenly begun to fly from the microwave because Luke had put that...tinfoil? stuff inside with his food. The Molinas had been upset but hadn't hurt them over it. They'd been kind. But the fae had been kind at first too.
At first, Alex had wondered if he'd died, alone in the forest, and was in some form of afterlife. He was offered food and fine clothing and music by the effervescent beings that inhabited this new plane. They'd enjoyed his drumming and hadn't seemed to mind when his eyes drifted to a young man with dark hair and a smile that made Alex's heart skip a beat.
They had been kind and welcoming to him. Until he made a mistake.
Things changed after that. Who was to say that wouldn't happen again? That the Molinas wouldn't run out of patience with him and he wouldn't become a prisoner and an outcast yet again.
Alex knew it would happen. It had happened with his first two homes, why not this one? So if he wanted to stay here, with his family and his lover, he couldn't make any mistakes. Couldn't give them any reason to throw him away like the used toy he was. But how could he know what was wrong if no one was directing his every move?
He couldn't. So he was doomed.
"Alex?"
Alex jumped, almost losing his footing on the dark tiles of the house roof. He whirled around to see Julie, the girl who had first found them, staring at him through an open, second-story window.
"What are you doing out on the roof?" she asked, blinking rapidly.
Oh. Well, this must be it. Alex thought he could hold out a bit longer.
"I'm so sorry, I know I shouldn't be on the house," he said quickly, holding out hope that maybe she would at least let him stay till morning. "I couldn't sleep and I didn't want to wake anyone and I knew there weren't any bedrooms around here so I just... I'm sorry-"
"Woah, slow down," Julie said, cutting him before he could say anything else. "No need to be sorry, you're not doing anything wrong, I just... wasn't expecting to see you sitting on the roof of my house at 3 am."
"Oh," Alex said, because he wasn't sure what else to say. She wasn't upset?
"Also, I know you have the whole-" Julie waved a hand around helplessly, "-magic thing going on, but hanging out on the roof isn't exactly the safest spot."
Alex shrugged. "I didn't think anyone would care," he replied honestly. Willie might be a little sad if he fell off the roof and broke his neck, but they'd get over it. There were so many people in the world to love, Willie wouldn't be alone for long.
Julie frowned. "Of course we would care if you got hurt," she said, like it was the simplest thing in the world. "You did see how freaked my dad got the other day when Reggie burned himself on the stove, right?" She took a deep breath, then added, "You guys may not have come into our lives in a very...traditional way, but you're family now."
Alex was helpless to do anything but stare at her. Because, well, 'family' by blood wasn't something he had much respect for, but the way she said it felt more like when Luke called them that, back before they escaped. Like it actually meant something real.
"Note to self, Alex has even bigger trust issues than I thought," Julie muttered around a yawn. Then she offered him a hand. "Come on, we can crash on the couches downstairs and watch a movie or something. Just chill out for a bit."
It felt like a trap. A personal invitation into someone's space had always been a trap in the fae realm. But...maybe that wasn't how it was here? At least not with Julie?
Alex bit his lip, but accepted her hand and clambered in through the open window.
"Come on, I need to show you Dirty Dancing," Julie decided, keeping hold of his hand as she closed the window and led him downstairs. "I think you'll love it!"
And Alex did. Or at least he loved the first 30 minutes of it that he was awake for.

Watching Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and realizing all the ways the MCU has robbed us of art, superheroes, comic books and cinema.
This movie could be set any decade the last century. There's like six different genres in one movie. I can FEEL every single texture on the screen. Every time something goes flying or shakes or teeters I want to duck out of the way. Every single thing lands with the full weight of its mass. Alfred Molina eats every scene he's in. I would kill for Aunt May. Ted Raimi! Bruce Campbell! Jonah J. Jameson! Peter being the personification of ADHD and being a Millennial. From a lower middle income family struggling with the loss of breadwinner! Real people who look like people. Uncle Ben's absence and presence a wrecking ball in your rib cage the size of a fist. Cinema clearly peaked in the mid-aughts.

Do you have any headcanons about any of the Molina characters that haven’t come up in any fics or asks yet?
Oooooh hm that’s a good question!
Ricky: I know I have full fic dedicated to this but Ricky was in the Marine Corps and suffers from ptsd because of it. Ricky’s also really probably of his Hispanic heritage and so is his family, who make you feel like one of them as soon as they meet you like they are so hospitable. Also the Morales’ are very superstitious, Ricky not so much, but the rest of them are.
Robert: he’s so so so so so insecure about everything to do with himself. He just doesn’t feel good enough in my aspect, even though he’s perfect and I love him
Otto: ALWAYS LISTENING, and uses it to his advantage. Hear me out: I would pick up on people saying they liked something while I was working, and I did this with almost everyone there, so everyone got a Christmas present that was something they’d genuinely like. I feel like Otto is this way, but he also uses it for various things not just presents lol
Doc Ock: man is insatiable, like the actuators have made his sex drive skyrocket. Always down to clown
Big Boss: I want to dedicate a big chunk of this to him, because we (my friend and I) have a lot of HCHs about him lol, so first off his real name is Jedidiah Black, Jed for short. Jed had a rough childhood, grew up in a very religious household, etc. He also loves animals, especially cows/bulls, and he owns a massive ranch. In reality he’s a big softie with a lot of anxiety and needs a warm blanket wrapped around him
Manuel: again I’ve talked about this a little bit, but I think Manuel is either a demon, specifically an incubus, or the devil. I’m more inclined to say incubus but there can be some good in him, but I also love the idea of a pure evil Manuel 🤤
Andres: the older cousin of Ricky!
Harding: secretly an egg
Hank: probably would be besties with Penguin, but would get annoyed with Oswald.
Oswald: deserves better than Hank tbh
Dick: I think he was probably bullied, especially for his name, when he was young. That’s why he’s so prone to anxiety and panic attacks. Also I love him.
Chandler: the biggest softie after he’s gotten all of his primal urges out, like he’s so so good at aftercare and then all he wants to do is snuggle!!!! Also soft when sleepy (well sometimes he gets hard 😈)
That’s all I can think of right now but I’ll post more random HCs as I collect them! THANK YOU FOR THE ASK FRIEND!!!!!!

'tis the damn season (write this down)
For your consideration: some JatP Christmas fics
Summaries included below, check AO3 tags for more information
where the lovelight gleams by @bananakarenina
Julie Molina, one of the biggest popstars on the planet, is spending the month of December in New York City to promote her new Christmas album and a huge Christmas Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. Her team has hired her a personal driver for the whole month--Reggie Peters. Julie's struggling with losing her creativity and passion, while Reggie is struggling with just trying to make rent in the big city; he hasn't been really creative in years. Can the two of them find their way back to music before Christmas comes? What else will they find along the way? (Love. Obviously the answer is love.)
you could call me 'babe' for the weekend by @locketletters
“Look, there's no way my parents are going to buy the fact that you’re my boyfriend.” Luke crosses his arms, brows furrowing, “What’s that supposed to mean?” in which luke goes home with alex for he holidays as a pretend boyfriend, and leaves with him as a real one.
Not Found Under the Tree by @breakaway71
There's only one thing Julie wants for Christmas.
Haunted Holidays by @invisibleraven
JatP Advent ficlets 2023!
Our Luxury (A Love Like Stars) by @psyduckappears, @daintyduck99
“So, I bought a ring,” Luke says, casual in the way that usually Reggie would realize is nowhere near casual and much closer to freaking out, but he’s a little busy choking to death on his lunch.
not the last unknown by @bananakarenina
It's Christmas Eve, and the Molina family goes to church. This year they have a couple tagalongs.
Joy To The World by @wishfulstargazer
"Christmas in LA is free of snow, but not of spirit. In fact, between the lit up palm trees, the shop displays everywhere, Feliz Navidad playing on every radio station, and a host of Christmas music and decorations all over Los Feliz high school, Christmas is pretty much unavoidable. It all grates on her nerves. Christmas without Rose Molina is unthinkable. Almost as unthinkable as music without Rose Molina." Can a well meaning trio of ghost boys bring back Julie's Christmas spirit and help her reclaim her music?
From the Heart by @breakaway71
Reggie gives Julie a gift, but she is not the only one to have some feelings about it.
Hallelujah, Everybody Say Cheese (Merry Christmas From The Family) by @a-tomb-with-a-view
Reggie sighs and turns in Luke’s arms to face him. Luke leans forward to kiss Reggie’s nose, his smile playful even if his eyes are huge and full of concern. God but Reggie loves him. “I’m not going home for Christmas,” he admits eventually. “I don’t know what I’m doing, but… but not that.” Luke frowns, and kisses Reggie’s forehead instead this time, having to lean up on tiptoes to do so. “Why don’t you come over to ours?”
Phantom Carols by @invisibleraven
Fills for the JatP Advent Event 2022!
Kiss Me Under the Missile Toad by @wr0temyway0ut
“Woah, little dude,” Willie says as he lowers Carlos to his feet. “You gotta be careful up there. What were you even doing?” Carlos gives Willie a proud grin and thrusts something into their hands. “I’m hanging the missile toads!”
why do i care how much it may storm (i’ve got my love to keep me warm) by @tillstarscollided
There is something special about nighttime snowfall, how it’s quiet and almost eerie with only the lights from the porch to show it, but how that also means you can watch it collect and sparkle in a controlled section of light instead of being blinded by the sun reflecting off the entire landscape of white. There had been snow on the ground already, slowly melting, but this new batch was evening it out, covering up the mud and sludge with a new blank canvas that Reggie really wanted to just go and mess up with snowmen and snow angels, as the ones he had already made disappeared, but it was 1 am and he should be cuddling in bed with his partners, and he has bad impulse control but not that bad of impulse control. or: Reggie’s partners bring him to New York to see the snow, and he hasn’t stopped staring since.
a lonely boy on christmas by @nuandia
Alex doesn’t really think twice. He takes the tangerines and a wrapped sandwich and a bottle of water out of his shopping bag and offers them to him. The boy looks up, startled. His face guarded, his posture tense before he blinks at Alex and then relaxes. He smiles a tentative smile and slowly reaches for the offered groceries. But his eyes are sparkling, making the breath in Alex’s throat catch.  Or, everybody's lonely on Christmas Eve. Or well, maybe not.
Of Hearts Borrowed And Blue by @daintyduck99
“Some vacation,” Julie mutters, shedding the duvet and reaching for the coffee maker.  She still doesn’t know why everyone was so convinced that a change of scenery would do her good—it’s not like Julie can outrun Christmas. Caleb apparently also forgot to mention that everyone in this town is obsessed with the holiday, which isn’t all that different from the current atmosphere at Molina Family Photography.  If anything, Julie’s even more of a grinch here that she would be back home, because she stuffed all of her grief into a battered suitcase, and she can’t just pull it out for every single stranger trying to get her into the Christmas spirit.
