Well, well, well! If it isn't Molly!
I made her the fun aunt, and an aro, because me??? Following the source material??? Nah we ball around here! Rambles bellow!
Molly is from the same railway as Edward, aka the Furness railway, however she's one of the few engines who weren't arranged for marriage, instead being bought by a rich couple as their own private engine, now being the family heirloom she is treated humanely by them, letting her adopt her own last name.
I made Her and Edward cousins! Though not really blood related if you know what I mean :p, Both are industrial class, however Molly is just 2 years younger than him.
Tumblr media
Molly had trouble recognizing Edward, but because she's more open minded, she immediately accepted Edward as he is.
I made her character the fun aunt, but not erasing her original personality entirely, I like how she's sensible and is sensitive to conflict, adding that I think she would give best relationship advice despite being Aromantic, coaches don't play ;p.
They both have alot to catch up on!

timeskip Molly concepts - probably when she's around 16-17 ish, maybe even early college? ( I'm not a big fan of the "ooh the bubbly character gets older and is now SUPER SAD" trope so this is more like... Molly is still Molly, she just gets older and faces more hardships/life stressors that come with age, and struggles to maintain the same high level of positivity/resiliency she used to have )

Thinking about Caleb and how so much of his story ends with him finding meaning in the temporary.
He spent so long chasing a way to bring his parents back, but in the end he had to accept that they were gone. They were temporary. He has his memories of them now, but that’s all. And he has to find peace with that and find a way to remember them fondly, even though they’re gone now, truly and completely.
He and Essek love each other dearly, but there will come a day when he will have lived his life and grown old and Essek will still be Essek. But even so, every moment they spend together is still meaningful. Even if it ends, it means something.
Just. Caleb and loving things even when they won’t last. Maybe because they won’t last.

there's something about the wit being a gay allegory and having Fitz and Nighteyes both fear that once Fitz gets with Molly (dream happy ever after girl I don't truly love but carries my fantasies of a happy life and nuclear family) she'll force them to break apart and comply to a bond-less life
(for the record, I don't think Molly would care. It's the imagined fear from Fitz I think is interesting)

Chapter Three: Oh Memories
Characters: Reader, Molly Weasely, Remus Lupin, Kreatcher, Sirius Black, Alastor Moody
Summary: Moody's goes too far with his obsession to get information from (y/n).
Word Count: 3,067
Warnings: Mentions of blood, slight gore, bodily injury to reader, panic attack, mentions of torture, mention of child abuse
Reminder: @rainychaosmiracle
Mrs. Weasley was in the kitchen, washing up after having made their current “guest” dinner. She truly didn’t understand how (y/n) could both be so kind and so cruel at the same time. She had never tried to belittle or harm Mrs. Weasley, no she very rarely talked to her. When she did though it was different from what Moody had described, she wasn’t necessarily kind, but she also hadn’t been cruel or rude. Just very cynical and stubborn.
“Everything was fine until Molly brought her food,” Sirius told everyone sitting at the dining room table. “After that, it was like a switch flipped.”
“Are you saying it’s my fault, Sirius?” Molly accused, walking into the room, hands on her hips. “After what Moody has done to her this past month, I’m shocked you two even got her to say more than a few words, let alone have a conversation.”
“Molly, that’s not what he meant,” Remus leans back in his chair, nursing a small glass of cheap wine. “He was just saying, that while it was just him and I, she seemed to be able to let go of some of her, reservations let’s say. We even managed to get her to laugh for a moment.”
“How sweet, you got You-Know-Who’s daughter to giggle, did you happen to get her to tell you anything of importance?” Moody rolled his eyes, taking a swig from his flask.
“Sorry, in between the beatings and curses did she happen to tell you anything? That’s right, you lied to us about your methods and still didn’t manage to learn a single thing.” Sirius glared at him. “You’re lucky to be sitting in my house, let alone being able to talk.”
“I’m lucky?” Moody starts to shout, getting out of his seat and pointing a finger at Sirius. “Why you little brat! I ought to curse you too, lay your ass out flat!”
Molly shushed him loudly, looking to the open door where her children were listening intently. “Alastor if you can’t get ahold of your temper perhaps it’s best you go elsewhere for the night,” she warned. “Now.”
Moody looked at the door, seeing the kids he straightened up and stormed out of the house. Sirius turned around and waved at the gaggle of red-headed children, a smug grin on his face. They all saw their mother giving them a warning look and quickly dispersed, muttering to themselves about the small altercation they had just bore witness to.
“And you Sirius, you ought to apologize to him. While I don’t disagree that his actions are unforgivable, I know we won’t stand a chance against You-Know-Who and his army without him.” Molly tutted. “No need to antagonize him in order to make yourself feel better.”
Sirius didn’t say anything back in response. He just gave her a small nod, looking down at the ground. Remus sighed, finishing his glass of wine and walking to the door. He stopped, pinching the bridge of his nose and swearing loudly as he turned around.
“We’re idiots.” He proclaimed, grabbing his wand from his pocket. “Moody can apparate inside the building and never walks out the front door. He wanted us to see him leave so-”
“So he could get to the one person we told him to leave alone.” Sirius finished, bolting towards the basement doors with Remus close behind.
As they reached to open the cell door there was a loud grunt made on the other side. Sirius pointed his wand at the door and it flung open, Moody toppled out of the room, blood dripping from his now mangled ear. Remus rushed in, seeing (y/n) smeared with blood, a mixture of her own and Moody’s.
“(Y/n) are you alright?” Remus asked her, watching her eyes dart between Moody and himself. “Hey, it’s okay we’re not here to hurt you. I’m sorry we weren’t faster than he was. (Y/n) are you listening?”
“Moony, I think it might be best to slowly walk out of there.” Sirius cautioned, ignoring Moody’s state. He pulled his friend out just as (y/n) lunged at him, teeth bared and eyes wild. The barrier on the door stopped her cold, but she still pounded against it, a guttural yowl leaving her throat.
“Merlin’s beard.” Remus gasped, watching her lose it. He looked at Moody, who was smiling to himself regardless of his own injuries. “What did you do, Alastor?! What did you do?”
“I found her breaking point.” He said proudly, blood spilling from his mouth. “All it took was a few stolen memories.” He held up three small glowing bottles and shook them. Remus reached for them but Moody let go, watching them crash to the ground and turn into nothing.
“How dare you stoop that low and look so proud of yourself,” Sirius growled. “Kreatcher!” he yelled, causing the house elf to begrudgingly appear. “Escort Mr. Moody out of the house, and until I tell you to take it down put up an anti-apparation spell. Ban him from here as well unless I decide otherwise.”
“Of course Master Sirius.” Kreatcher glumly agreed, snapping his fingers and disappearing with Moody.
Remus and Sirius both looked at each other, not believing what they have just witnessed. (Y/n) on the other hand, had stopped screaming, stopped moving at all really. She had fallen to her knees, staring at where the vials had shattered and her memories had been destroyed.
“(Y/n)?” Sirius took a step towards her, careful to stay outside of her reach. “Are you okay? (Y/n)?”
“I- I don’t, I didn’t mean to…” (Y/n) looked down at herself, red staining her hands and clothes. She backed away from the door, her chest feeling tight like her own body was trying to strangle her. “I lost it! Damn it, I lost it again for Merlin’s sake, they’re going to know!” she was panicking, hyperventilating.
“Whose going to know?” Remus asked, taking slow and careful steps toward her, his wand set inside his pocket. “Pads, go get some water and towels, please. I’ll stay with (y/n). Tell Molly what happened please, and see if she can send an owl out to the rest of the Order.”
“Yeah, I’ll go do that. Just be careful, I know she doesn’t mean it but…” Sirius trailed off. Remus nodded, kneeling next to the entrance of the cell and waving him away.
“I’ll be fine, just hurry back. I’m not sure how much of that is hers.” Remus worried. Sirius took a deep breath and quickly left, taking the stairs three at a time. Remus turned back to (y/n), his expression worried. “(Y/n) you need to take deep breaths. It’ll be okay, you’re safe now.”
“Safe? Safe?!? I’m never safe!” She sobbed, shaking her head violently. “I haven’t… I haven’t been safe since I-I was born! How, how could you even- I mean what world have you, have you been living in?”
“(Y/n) breathe.” He reminded. “You’re going to make yourself pass out soon if you don’t breathe.”
“I-I can’t!” her vision was blurring, whether from tears or lack of oxygen, she wasn’t sure. “I can’t do it. I can’t.”
“Yes, you can. Just focus on me okay?” Remus shuffled closer, careful to keep his distance. “Just act like you’re about to blow out a candle. Deep breath in.” (Y/n) nodded, copying Remus. It took a few minutes, but she finally calmed down enough for Remus to start asking questions again. “Where are you hurt?”
“I-I’m not sure,” she said just above a whisper. “I think most of this blood is his. I bit his ear off.”
“Is it okay if I come closer and look?” Remus asked. (Y/n) nodded her head, taking another deep breath. Remus slowly walked over to her, conjuring a small lantern and setting it on the floor next to her.
“Moony?” Sirius called from the stairs, carrying with him a first-aid kit, a bowl of warm water, some towels, and a carefully balanced plate of food courtesy of Molly. “I have everything you asked for, Molly is insisting that at least one of us keep (Y/n) company until she feels safe, which I’m in agreement with.”
Sirius walked into the cell, quickly setting down everything and opening the first-aid kit. Remus looked at (y/n), checking to see if she was comfortable with Sirius being in the room. She seemed a little more on edge, but not outright uncomfortable. (Y/n) seemed confused more than anything.
“Why do you care?” she asked, causing both Remus and Sirius to look at her puzzled. “If a prisoner gets hurt that’s just part of the method isn’t it?”
“You weren’t just hurt, (y/n), you were attacked maliciously by the looks of it.” Sirius asserted, picking up the bowl of water and the towels. He made his way to her and Remus. “You’re still a person, you didn’t deserve what just happened. Moody was out of line.”
“(Y/n), I don’t mean to pry, but who were you worried about knowing earlier?” Remus asked, taking a towel from Sirius and dipping it in the water. “You said that someone would know about you losing it again?”
“It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it, it’s my fault, I should’ve been more in control,” she said in a flat tone. Remus and Sirius exchanged looks. Her response sounded rehearsed. “I don’t know what he took, but I can feel that it was important. It-it’s like part of me is empty. It’s wrong.”
“(Y/n)…” Remus didn’t know what to say that would help. He started cleaning off her hands, careful to avoid her cracked knuckles. “Is it okay if I ask you to hold out your arm? It looks like you’ve got a pretty nasty scrape on this one.” He held up her left hand slightly. She nodded, letting him continue.
“Molly is finding you a change of clothes, so far though she hasn’t had much luck. She’s gonna bring down a couple of options when she finds some though.” Sirius carefully started to disinfect (y/n)‘s knuckles before wrapping them up. “You do know that we won’t be able to get those memories back, right?”
“Yeah, I know.” (Y/n) winced as Remus cleaned around her scrape. “Neither of you have answered my question yet. Why do you care?”
“Like I told you, we seem to have had similar upbringings.” Sirius reminded her. He lifted up the edge of his shirt, revealing an old scar on his side. “My mother used to burn me with a fire poker whenever I was late to dinner or spoke out of turn. I use to think it was what everyone went through, that that was childhood until I met some friends at Hogwarts that is. I have a feeling you’re in the same boat.”
“I’m a werewolf, the world is full of misconceptions about my kind.” Remus shrugged. “I’d rather give you the benefit of the doubt before I condemned you to torture. I know you probably would have killed me on sight outside of this cell if given the chance, but I believe people are naturally good, at their core. That is until the world twists and corrupts them.”
“So, your reasons for caring are no one cared about you?” (Y/n) raised an eyebrow. “Seems tiring to always care about other people’s feelings and things. I genuinely think my father would prefer me dead than be here accepting your help. And I don’t blame him, it would make people less afraid of him if they knew… never mind.”
“If they knew what? That you’re just a regular person?” Sirius rolled his eyes. “Get over it, no matter what you do or don’t do it’ll never be enough. Has it ever been?”
“Well, I-”
“No, it hasn’t. I can see it in your eyes and on your face.” Sirius and (y/n) held eye contact. “Nothing I ever did was enough, no matter how much I acted like my mother wanted she always wanted more, and she was just a regular witch. Your father is, well, you know, and if he treats you the way he treats his loyalist of followers then my mother was the kindest most caring woman to have lived.”
“Sirius, this can wait until after we’ve cleaned her up,” Remus warned, feeling (y/n) tense up as Sirius continued.
“Harry said Peter chopped off his own hand and that your father still took his wand and made him kneel,” he told her. “And if he can do that to someone that quite literally brought him back from the brink of death, I doubt he is afraid to nearly destroy you as long as he gets whatever he wants in the end.”
“Stop talking.” (Y/n)‘s eyes darkened. “You have no right.” she yanked her hand away from him as he finished with securing the bandage. “He’s my father, of course he cares about me. His feelings have to be set aside for him to succeed, that’s all. His blood flows through my veins, keeps my heart beating. While I may not be everything he wanted me to be when I was born, I am still his daughter.
“I may not possess all of the traits he wanted me to from my mother, but that does not make me any less of a weapon! I am still enough to get what he needs done, done. It might not be exactly how he planned for it, but I can see the barriers around anywhere he wants to conquer and I can find their weakest points! I gained the sight that she had, and-and he… he can use me as whatever he needs to be until the war is won.” (Y/n) gasped, covering their mouth, eyes wide.
“You can- what?” Remus was bewildered. It was an uncommon trait, mostly thought to be as odd as speaking Parseltongue. “You can see spells? Like, the barriers we have in here?”
“I-I didn’t mean to… he’s going to kill me. No, no, no he’s going to do worse than that. He always does worse than that.” she backed away from both of the men, hands shaking. “Why did I tell you that? Why am I so stupid?”
“(Y/n)…” Sirius stood up quickly, hands held up. “He knew Moody was watching that night at the shop. He knew that if they could grab you they would.”
“What? No, he wouldn’t do that.” she covered her ears, trying to block him out.
“I’m sorry but it’s true.” Remus put the towel he was holding down. “The Order was tipped off as to your location that night. We just found out that the person who left us the letter was, it was Lucius Malfoy. We thought you knew that it was planned.”
“Lucius?” her head felt like it was splitting. The room seemed to be spinning, the colors of the barriers pulsating and bleeding into each other. Her chest felt like it was on fire, her legs felt like jelly, and suddenly the world went white and she was weightless.
“Remus I think she’s gonna-” There was a thud as (y/n) fell to the ground. Sirius looked guiltily at Remus. “Never mind, it’s too late.”
“Way to go Sirius made her pass out.” Remus sent his friend a glare as he knelt next to her. “Luckily she didn’t hit her head too hard. Probably will have an awful headache when she wakes.”
“Moony, I didn’t mean to-”
“To what? Upset her more than she already was? She wasn’t ready for that yet.” Remus gently picked her up and placed her on the sleeping bag. He picked up the towel again and continued to clean her off as much as he could. “Could you, for just once, think more than five seconds before you say things like that? I know you meant well, but Merlin’s beard, Padfoot, now was not the time.”
“I couldn’t have guessed how she was going to react!” Sirius growled, defending himself. “I thought she might, you know, realize that we aren’t trying to hurt her? That she might be able to, I don’t know, to understand that she’s nothing more than a tool to be tossed to the side as soon as she is no longer of use! I didn’t think she was going to tell us something as important as that, and I surely didn’t think she was going to panic to the point of fainting!”
“I’m not saying-”
“No, you don’t get to tell me what I’m hearing, Remus.” Sirius barked. Neither man was aware of Mrs.Weasley standing at the door, watching them. “I know you disagree with how I just told her everything, but honestly Moony, can you say that letting her live in ignorance is any better? One way or another she was going to find out about what we knew.”
“You’re right, she needed to know. But she didn’t need to know tonight.” Remus asserted. Sirius fidgeted with his hands. “We could’ve waited one more night so she didn’t have to feel worse than she already did.”
“Sorry to interrupt your little argument boys, but I’ve brought some clothes for (y/n), although it seems like they’re currently not needed.” Mrs. Weasley sat them next to the untouched food. “Might I make a suggestion?”
“Of course, you can, Molly.” Remus sighed, getting the last of the dried blood off of (y/n)‘s face.
“Let her out of here. This cell has been nothing but more nightmares for her.” Molly huffed. “You two should be smart enough to figure out a safe way for her to have some freedom. And after all she’s endured in her time here, she deserves something.”
“We’ll think about it.” Sirius nods. “Until we find a way to, we could at least give her bed though, some books, something to make it less barren.”
“We should let her rest for now, Molly would you mind staying with her for a while? Sirius and I need to have a more private talk on the matter if that’s okay.” Remus asks. Molly nods and watches the men mutter to each other as they leave. She sits down in one of the two chairs that they had previously left.
