I like 'future goals'. I mean, time-travel goals are also nice, but there is something in the simplicity of just not breaking the time-space continuum.
Unless my future goals lie in the past, I suppose. My personal future may not be in sync with space-time!

Good luck! My experience with performance reviews has been a half-hour torture session of sitting through management's presentation of "All the ways you suck and should be grateful you still have a job". Granted, this was with Walmart, and a shitty management team, at that, but still, unpleasant memories.
I’ve been mostly lucky in that I’ve either had supportive managers who just weren’t very good at doing the management thing but were TRYING, or I’ve had managers who were so checked out of managing they just checked the boxes for “does what he’s supposed to” and moved on. To the point where I once had a manager give me average, decent reviews four times in a row and then tell me to my face I hadn’t mastered the basics of my job yet. (I had, she just really didn’t like me.)

I don't know and I don't want to know but in general I consider the "good" fans to be the ones who don't say "Neilman" for the stupidest possible reason.
I’m sort of sad we stopped saying Gneil. I don’t know if it fell out of favor or if it just reminds him too much of Pterry, but I always liked the way Gneil looked on the page.

Wolf archive for the meme?
magnus archives but.... everybody. is a werewolf.
and by “werewolf” i specifically mean, “turns into a great big dumb puppy every full moon”
the plot is just... a lot of abuse recovery... and found family... and forming packs... and lots and lots of worldbuilding because i love worldbuilding.... aaaaaand maybe some canon-typical worms. we’ll see.
excerpt:
Tim hears the skittering of nails behind him, and sees a flash of Jon out of the corner of his eye. He speeds up, spotting one of his favorite tug-of-war toys on the ground, and racing to grab it first.
He does, snatching up the knotted rope and whirling around to face Jon, who abruptly pulls up short, looking startled. Tim drops again into a play bow and wiggles his butt, daring Jon to take the other end.
With a look of determination that is almost uncannily like one of his human facial expressions, Jon leans down and closes his teeth over the other end of the toy.
Tim can’t help but wag his tail happily and tug gently— the way he might have with a pup, just learning to walk. Because Jon may be an adult, but he’s never gotten to play the way wolves should.

Is there a glitch on the etsy pricing? The zine looks amazing and I wanted to order a physical copy, but $31.43 to ship from the US to Canada seems really high.
It costs about $20 USD to ship the zine from the US to Canada, so that should be about $28.29 CAD for just the shipping, according to Google’s currency converter.

*patpat* we've all had days like that.
I mean it’s not uncommon for me to take a long hard look at myself and mutter “...yikes...” but I walked right into this one.
Would be extremely on-brand for me to decide against changing the URL to shitposts right in the middle of my shittiest posting.

Hey I wanted to say, regarding the romance in Umbrella Academy -- if you found the Netflix version creepy, please stay away from the comics. Because when I saw the Netflix approach, I went "Oh good, they really dialed back the creepiness there!"

My junior high had the health teacher, who would lecture us about how bad smoking was, go to the smoking area with students during breaks. It wasn't socially accepted, she was just a giant hypocrite.
yikes lol. Guess that’s the teacher thing of “I want for you what I didn’t have”?

random thing I came across, because I recall you like ballads and also Robin hood: Child Ballad 150, wherein Marian decides to disguise herself as a man to track down her criminal BF and ends up fighting him for an hour before they recognized each other (both were in disguise. Mistakes happen). Thought this would interest you.
Oooh very nice!! :D I like this very much!

mollyscribbles replied to your post: hey I fucking hated infinity war, how’s everyone...
I don’t understand the concept because I’ve constructed an elaborate blanket fort from MCU headcanons and that film does not exist except as a series of scenes of amusing character interactions (with everyone surviving) that leads to a climactic battle where Squirrel Girl comes in out of nowhere and one-shots Thanos. Then they all go for ice cream.
I was thinking the whole time how Squirrel Girl should just show up and kick his ass! You’re so right.

Favorite color:  Red
Currently reading:  Gilded Cage by KJ Charles. Magnificent writer who writes  brilliant historical romance/supernatural/mystery/heist stories that often feature gay main characters. This particular book happens to have a more traditional female/male romance (for a given value of “traditional”), because Susan is a private detective and Templeton is a jewel thief with whom she once had a relationship, but there is no way in hell she’s going to fall for him again. It almost sounds like one of those “Yeah, suuuure Susan, we all know you’re pining for him secretly.” But that’s the thing, she’s *really not pining at all*, and I love that. When he’s forced to turn to her for help, their new reluctant relationship is tortured and difficult and requires actual communication, and they slowly begin to understand their pasts, and to reconnect in a way that is very satisfying. Communication is sexy.
Last song:  “Tomorrow Will Be Kinder” by The Secret Sisters
Last movie:  Shaun the Sheep: The Movie. This is so funny and heartwarming. An entire movie without words, except occasionally songs on the radio and indecipherable, hilarious mumbling from the humans, which is what I imagine we sound like to animals most of the time lol. Is it unrealistic for the farmer to have had these very same sheep and other farm animals for decades? Certainly. Should we care? Nope! Because it’s not a documentary, but a movie about friends and chosen family, and rescuing each other. Also love it for its accurate depiction of a diverse and multicultural Big City.
Savory/Sweet/Spicy?  Sweet
Currently working on:  the next chapter of my Megamind zombie story, and an original novel featuring orcs.

Do a local’s discount, or free ice cream the day you open and locals will love you. Build the good will early and you’ll be all set!
LOL. Ten percent discount if you show up with a driver’s license that has a cape cod address, twenty percent discount if you have a sunburn, thirty percent if you have a sunburn and promise to wear sunscreen for the rest of your life.

I would suggest weighing the flour if possible, relative humidity is weird to baking.
I haven’t had a ton of luck using weight as opposed to measurement in bread baking, to be honest, precisely because of the relative humidity -- for me the cup measure is what I measure out, then I add slowly until it looks and feels right, which unless it’s DEEP winter usually isn’t all of the flour. Like you say, humidity. :D

Books I've *PAID FOR* I have a much harder time throwing aside. I feel obligated to get my money's worth out of them, even when I've been snookered into buying a bad book.
Ah yeah, I rarely buy books anymore unless they’ve already impressed me or are super cheap -- living that library life, yo. If I’ve read a good book from the library I’ll often buy it, but there are too many bad books out there! :D

1 You'd eventually acclimate to Florida Summers 2 We air condition -everything-
Yeah but I’ve lived through summers in Texas and spent enough summer time in Florida to know that while I would acclimate, I would still suffer. :D TFW you walk outside and realize life would be so much easier if you had gills...

be absurdly careful with garlic around kitties.
Oh yes. They know they’re not allowed on the plant sill and I’ve made it very difficult for them to get onto it even if they wanted to, plus Deebs is only interested in the spider plant and Polk only wants to destroy, not to devour :D

I understand the potential for confusion. having never seen an episode of Three's Company in my life but coming across the odd reference in other shows like Futurama or whatever, I had the vague impression it was about a poly trio that got away with being roommates by having the guy pretend to be gay.
i had to look up threes company for context but honestly thats the assumption id probably make too lol

mollyscribbles replied to your post: still a fanfic trope i absolutely hate: character...
I realized just how much I hate the thing where they have an internal monologue about their feelings and have not conveyed any of this to the object of their affections until I read a romance novel where the dude tried it and she just decked him.
THIS is the correct answer to getting smooched out of nowhere
