Spider-Girl has a panic attack ft Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff
The air was thick with tension as the trio navigated through the dimly lit corridors of an abandoned Hydra facility. Wanda Maximoff, with her scarlet eyes glowing, moved gracefully, using her telekinetic powers to disable security systems and clear the path. Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, trailed behind her, executing precise strikes on any unsuspecting guards that crossed their way.
Y/N Parker, known as Spider-Girl, swung effortlessly between the walls, her agility matching that of her brother, Peter, the famed Spider-Man. The mission had brought them back to a place that haunted Y/N's nightmares, the place where Hydra had once held her captive.
As they reached a dimly lit room, memories flooded back, and Y/N's breath hitched. She could almost hear the distant echoes of her own cries from the past. The room seemed to close in, and the air turned heavy. Wanda and Natasha, engrossed in neutralizing threats, failed to notice the subtle shift in Y/N's demeanour.
A sudden explosion echoed through the facility, snapping Y/N back to the present. The enemies had found them, and chaos erupted. Wanda conjured barriers to deflect bullets, while Natasha gracefully twisted her body, avoiding incoming attacks. Y/N swung into action, her heightened senses allowing her to anticipate movements.
Amid the chaos, the teenager felt a shiver race down her spine, an icy hand gripping her heart. The memories of Hydra's experiments, the isolation, and the pain resurfaced, overwhelming her. She tried to shake off the haunting thoughts, but they clung to her like a suffocating fog.
Wanda, engrossed in her own battle, threw a barrage of energy at their adversaries. Natasha, displaying her trademark acrobatics, flipped over an opponent, delivering a swift kick to the back of their head. But in the midst of the fight, they remained oblivious to Y/N's struggle.
A sudden, searing pain tore through Y/N's shoulder. She gasped, the pain jolting her back to the present. A bullet had grazed her, leaving a trail of blood. She stumbled, the weight of the memories and the physical pain combining into a debilitating force.
Wanda, sensing the disturbance in the air, turned her attention to Y/N. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of Y/N, clutching her bleeding shoulder, breaths coming in ragged gasps. Natasha, too, noticed the sudden change and the blood-staining Y/N's costume.
Natasha - Y/N!
Natasha's voice cut through the chaos, concern etched across her face.
Wanda's eyes flared with Scarlet Witch energy as she surveyed the room. The enemies had just made a grave mistake. They had hurt one of their own.
In an instant, Wanda's power surged, creating a whirlwind of chaos that incapacitated their rivals. Natasha, her movements now driven by a fierce mama bear protective instinct, dispatched the remaining threats with deadly precision.
Wanda rushed to Y/N's side, her hands glowing with a soft, healing light.
Wanda - Sweetheart, what happened? *mix of worry and anger in her tone*
Natasha joined them, her eyes narrowing at the blood on Y/N's shoulder.
Natasha - Did they do this to you, baby? *growls*
Y/N, still grappling with the remnants of her panic, managed to choke out just one sentence.
Y/N - I'm okay, just a graze.
Wanda's gaze bore into Y/N's eyes, her empathetic powers sensing the turmoil within.
Wanda - No lies, honey. We're here for you. *softly smiles*
The weight of the unspoken past hung in the air, and Y/N felt a lump form in her throat. She couldn't hold it back any longer. The memories, the fear, the pain... it all came crashing down.
Y/N - I can't breathe. *whispers with a strained voice*
Wanda's eyes widened with understanding. She had seen this before, the aftermath of trauma. Gently, she guided Y/N to sit on a nearby crate, Natasha standing guard beside them.
Wanda - It's okay, Y/N. You're safe now. Focus on your breathing.
Wanda reassured, her hands now enveloped in a warm, soothing light.
As Wanda worked her healing magic, Natasha kept a vigilant watch, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any lingering threats. Y/N tried to follow Wanda's advice, focusing on the rise and fall of her chest. It was a battle against the memories, a struggle to separate the past from the present.
Wanda, sensing the need for a deeper connection, reached out with her telepathic abilities, gently exploring the recesses of Y/N's mind. She found the echoes of pain, the scars left by Hydra's cruelty. With a gentle touch, Wanda created a mental barrier, shielding Y/N from the invasive memories.
Natasha, her eyes sharp and unwavering, turned to face the defeated enemies strewn across the room. They had underestimated the strength of the trio, and now they paid the price.
Wanda finished her healing, the soft glow fading from her hands.
Wanda - How are you feeling? *genuine concern and head tilt*
Y/N took a deep, shaky breath and finally spoke after her unfortunately long flashback.
Y/N - Better... Thanks.
Natasha approached, a stern expression on her face.
Natasha - We need to talk about what happened here, and about Hydra. *frowns*
Y/N nodded, a mix of gratitude and apprehension in her eyes. The shared history, the unspoken bond formed through battles and victories, bound them together in a way that words couldn't fully capture.
As they left the Hydra facility behind, the trio walked side by side. Wanda and Natasha, each with an arm around Y/N, silently vowed to protect their unofficial daughter from the shadows of the past. The scars might linger, but together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
________________________________________________________________________________
However... as the trio moved cautiously through the facility's wreckage, the air still charged with tension. Y/N's steps became unsteady, the loss of blood making every movement an effort. Wanda and Natasha exchanged a concerned glance as they supported her, the weight of worry heavy in their eyes.
Natasha - Kiddo, you're losing a lot of blood! We need to get you out of here.
Natasha stated, her voice firm but laced with concern.
Y/N - I'm... I'm fine.
Y/N insisted, though her voice wavered. She couldn't afford to show weakness, not when the memories of her captivity still lingered. But the pallor of her face and the weakness in her limbs betrayed her true condition.
Wanda, her maternal instincts heightened, placed a gentle hand on Y/N's cheek.
Wanda - You're not fine, draga. We need to tend to your wound. (Draga = darling)
The term of endearment, spoken in Wanda's native Sokovian, resonated with warmth. Y/N managed a weak smile, appreciating the comfort amid chaos. Still, her steps faltered, and a wave of dizziness threatened to pull her into the darkness.
Natasha noticed the subtle change and urged the younger girl while adjusting her grip to provide more support.
Natasha - Hold on, Y/N. We're almost there.
As they neared the exit, the trio was met with the sight of their jet parked discreetly outside. Wanda's magic gently opened the hatch, revealing a space that, at the moment, felt like a sanctuary. Natasha guided Y/N into the jet, and Wanda followed closely behind.
Once inside, Y/N sank into one of the seats, the exhaustion and pain evident in her eyes. Natasha quickly assessed the wound, her fingers deftly probing the injury. Wanda, her magic still at the ready, focused on stabilizing Y/N's condition.
Natasha - You need medical attention, now. *meets Wanda's gaze*
Wanda nodded in agreement, a flicker of concern in her eyes. Y/N, feeling the motherly vibes surrounding her, couldn't help but be grateful for the support she found in these two extraordinary women.
The jet's engines roared to life, and Natasha secured Y/N in one of the medical bays. Wanda continued to channel her healing energy, knitting together torn tissues and slowing the bleeding. Yet, the concern etched on their faces lingered.
As the jet soared into the night sky, Natasha took a seat beside Y/N and spoke softly but with a stern edge because of her nerves.
Natasha - You can't downplay this, detka. We need to take care of you. (детка = babe)
Wanda joined them, her hand finding Y/N's.
Wanda - You're not alone in this. We're here for you, princesa. (Princesa = princess)
The terms of endearment, spoken by both Wanda and Natasha, wrapped around Y/N like a protective shield. In that moment, she let go of the stoic facade she often wore and allowed herself to be vulnerable. The weight of the past, the pain of the present, and the uncertainty of the future became palpable.
Y/N - I... I was scared. Back there, it felt like... like I was back in that cell.
Y/N admitted with her voice sounding barely like a whisper.
Wanda squeezed Y/N's hand, her eyes reflecting a deep understanding.
Wanda - You faced that fear, and you're here now. You're strong, babygirl.
Natasha, typically reserved, placed a comforting hand on Y/N's shoulder and a kiss on her forehead.
Natasha - We've got your back. Always.
The rest of the journey was spent in a quiet understanding. Wanda's healing energy worked its magic, and Y/N felt the pain decrease. The concern in Natasha's eyes, however, lingered. As they touched down at their home base, Wanda and Natasha swiftly organized medical assistance waiting for them.
Once off the jet, Y/N felt a renewed sense of strength. The support from Wanda and Natasha, the unspoken bond that transcended words, was a source of comfort. As medical professionals took over, Wanda and Natasha stood side by side, their protective gaze never leaving Y/N.
Y/N - Thank you, for everything.
The youngest whispered, a genuine smile playing on her lips.
Wanda wrapped her in a comforting hug, and Natasha joined in. The trio stood there, proving the strength they found in their shared pain and victories.
Natasha - We're family, dorogoy. We take care of our own. (дорогой = my dear)
As the medical team led Y/N away for further treatment, Wanda and Natasha exchanged a glance filled with a shared determination. The shadows of Hydra might linger, but together, they would face them head-on. The makeshift family forged in battles and blood was unbreakable, each member finding strength in the love and protection they provided for one another.

Ready or Not, Here I Come - Mama!Nat x Daughter!Reader
Summery: Your mama, Natasha can’t find you during a game of hide and seek and gets slightly worried
Notes: ‘Calls’ as in shouting, I’m going to assume reader is too young to have a phone yet, loll.
Readers Age: 4 Years Old
Requests: Open
Tumblr media
“Ninety-Nine... One-Hundred! Alright Malysh! Ready or not, here I come! Mama’s gonna find her little loon!” Natasha called out into the hallway of her section of the compound.
You both had just gotten back from spending the weekend at the Barton’s farm, over the weekend you had developed a love for the game of hide-and-seek from the two eldest Barton children.
So far this was yours and Natasha’s third game, and Natasha was just as into it as you were since she just could’t get enough of seeing your cheeky little grin or hearing your adorable squeal whenever she found you.
“Y/nnnnnn! Come out, come out where ever you are, манчкин.”
Nothing.
Hm, you were learning fast. The first round you had come out of your hiding spot straight after she had called you, always being a child to answer when called so that you wouldn’t give your mama a scare.
Natasha made sure to make her steps heavy, knowing that you would giggle if you felt as though you were tricking her.
“Could my little Y/N/N be under the carpet?” She called out as she lifted the carpet gently. “Oh? She isn’t here!” She called out, pretending to sound shocked.
Although she was a little but when she didn’t hear a sound afterwards.
You were really getting good at this game. Clint had thought you well. She could imagine his words of ‘the student becomes the master’
“Ohhhhhh Y-NNNNN!” She sang. “Mama’s coming to find youuu.”
Nothing. Huh.
For the next minute Natasha played it the way she usually did, making silly little comments as well as looking at the spots where it was plain-fully obvious you weren’t hiding. But you were beginning to worry her by remaining quiet.
You were a quiet child, of course. But usually during games like this the more your mama called the more you wanted to run to her and make sure that she wasn’t actually worried, plus you loved the cuddles that you would receive.
“Y/N? Sweetheart?”
If you just giggles or let out a huff or something she would gladly keep pretending for another five minutes, but there wasn’t a peep out of you.
“Come on honey, Mama can’t find you anywhere. She gives up!”
Natasha thought that that ought to do it. But it didn’t. Still not a sound.
And due to having received a small dose of syrum during her time in the red room, her hearing was better than the average person’s, making it easier to hear around your’s and her’s apartment in the compound. Which helped whenever you had a nightmare or needed to get up at night due to a tummy ache.
Natasha was panicking now, switching into protective Mama mode.
She began to search all of your previous hiding spots where you had hid in perviously. But nothing.
She would have heard the door open if you went to go somewhere else in the compound.
“Y/N! Come on sweetheart! Why don’t we go find Uncle Thor? He and Loki just got back from Asgard, you love Uncle Loki!”
You did love Uncle Loki, he was one of your favourite uncles and if something wasn’t terribly wrong you would have zoomed over to her that very second from where you were supposed to be hiding.
“Malyshka please. Are you stuck? Do you need Mama to come get you?”
Natasha wandered aimlessly around the apartment, not entirely sure what to do. She didn’t want to leave incase you got scared if you came out of your hiding spot because she wasn’t there.
It wasn’t until she noticed a little pair of kids’ shoes sticking out from under the rack that she felt huge relief.
Natasha pulled a few of the coats to the side and smiled in relief and at the adorable sight in front of her.
You were fast asleep, your head resting on her slippers.
She should have known how tired you would be. You had been running wild with the Barton kids all day, you had stayed awake the entire car journey back chatting away because you felt that if you fell asleep Natasha would be lonely, you had then played another two games while running around with Natasha. She’s surprised you hadn’t fallen asleep sooner.
After she quickly snapped a picture of you on her phone she put it away and went to softly pick you up, you were light, so it was no problem.
“C’mere sweet pea.” She murmured as you let out a small grunt.
“Mama.” You whined slightly.
“Right here Moye Serdtse.” She cooed softy as you lay your head on her shoulder.
“Did I win?”
Natasha suppressed a laugh. You had won in scaring her if that’s what you meant, which of course it wasn’t.
She studied your red locks that you inherited from her, and said something that she had known since the day she she discovered your existence. “I won.” She said lovingly. She had won, she had won in life because she had you. What else could she ever need?
You huffed, not understanding what she really meant. “Next time I will.”
“Maybe.” Natasha chuckled. “Let’s go sweetheart, you can sleep in my bed.”
You smiled up tiredly at Natasha as she moved some hairs from your face. “Yes please, Mama.”
“I love you. Malyshka.”
“Iluvoo too...” You replied, half asleep on your Mama’s shoulder already.

The Sorcerer’s Daughter: Stephen Strange-
“Stephen, what have I told you about playing with magic portals with y/n”, Christine scolded her Husband.
“Oh come now Christine, it’s not like I don’t know what I am doing, besides she loves it” Stephen kneels down to your level to help adjust the sling-ring on your fingers; closing the portal he just opened for you in the process.
“I am quite aware that you know what you are doing, but when it comes to our daughter and magic, I urge you to take more caution. You know it can be dangerous. Any portal, to any dimension can open-“ Stephen interrupts Christine.
“Honey, we are only practicing, and besides she isn’t the one opening the portals. She doesn’t even know how to yet” Stephen attempts to reassure his Wife, walking over to her to gently grab the side of her arms.
She releases a sigh, “I know you want to show her that part of your life, but she’s still so young. Anything could happen to her Stephen, yes it’s magic and she’ll love it but it is still extremely dangerous to expose her to that so young” She places her hands over Stephen’s arms.
Stephen pulls Christine into a hug, “I know, and I am sorry, I just want her to appreciate her potential future as a Sorcerer,” Christine clears her throat, “Or a Doctor”.
“Better,” Christine remarks, causing Stephen to laugh as she buries her face into his neck.
During their heartfelt conversation, you were admiring your Father’s sling-ring, holding your hand out in front of you, mimicking your Father’s actions as you’ve seen so many times before.
You pull your arm back into yourself, wondering why the magic portal wasn’t opening. After a few seconds of pondering you remember the combination needed to summon a portal.
You stick out your sling-ring wearing hand, placing the correct fingers up. You then begin to use your other hand and draw wide circles… nothing happens. With a little huff, you try again… still nothing.
Tears flood your eyes, frustration getting the better of you. You throw your hands down by your side, suddenly seeing a golden spark form in front of you.
You stare at the space it once was, you flap your hands up and down again, and two more sparks form and disappear.
A smile graces your face, eagerly resuming your ‘Sorcerer position’, you concentrate as much as you can in the spot in front of you. Desperate to make a portal appear.
You stand firm as you move your hand in a wide circle- continuously, for several seconds. Many sparks form, creating a large circular shape in front of you.
You carry on until the portal successfully forms in front of you, causing you to let out a curious ‘ooooh’.
The scene in front of you is majestic, a grand staircase leading up to a mystical window. You start to walk towards it.
Christine finally lifts her head, noticing a glow casting around the room, “Um, Stephen, I thought y/n couldn’t conjure a portal?”
“She can’t…why?” Christine turns Stephen around, both witnessing as you stroll through the portal, it closes shortly after.
“No, no, no, why did you just let her go through?” Stephen questions Christine.
“I was just so shocked that she did it, plus you were there too you could have stopped her!” Stephen walks forward searching the area you were occupying.
“It’s okay though, you can just get her back, hop to it Mr Sorcerer.” Christine laughs, failing to spot Stephen’s frantic search across the floor.
“On a scale of one to ten, how mad would you be if I said I can’t bring her back?” Stephen continues his search.
“Wait, what do you mean?” Christine questions worriedly.
“Well, she may or may not have taken my sling-ring with her, not a huge problem, except I kind of need it to conjure a portal so yeah back to that question of you being mad,” Stephen casts his glance at Christine, wincing at the face she is displaying- murderous.
“Stephen Vincent Strange, I swear if you don’t bring our daughter back this instant, I will-“ Christine’s threat was interrupted by a portal opening in their Living Room.
Stephen rushes in front of Christine, shielding her from a potential intruder.
His whole demeanour relaxes when he sees Wong emerging from the portal, with you in hand.
“Mommy!” You shout, running over to Christine.
“Awww my darling, you’re okay!” She grabs you and picks you up into a hug, holding you tight.
“I believe this is yours Strange!” Wong shoves Stephen’s sling-ring into his hand.
“Wong, cheery as always-“ Wong sends Stephen a glare at his remark.
“Cheery? Have you failed to notice the condition I am in?!” Stephen casts a glance over Wong’s form, noticing he is soaked, and covered in a gel-like substance.
“Oh yeah, I just thought you were going for a new look, by the way watch where you step, Christine will have your head if you get any of that on the carpet”.
Wong shakes his head in disbelief, “You aren’t even curious at why I am covered in this slime?!”
“I am actually, but more so wondering how you found y/n” Christine asks.
“Well, let me enlighten you. I was doing my rounds of the Sanctum, you know, maintaining the order. When I sensed another presence inside. I ran to the staircase when I saw y/n enter through a portal. I started to make my way to her when she opened up another portal. Before I could act our old friend Gargantos made his appearance into the Sanctum-“
“Wait, Gargantos? As in that huge one eyed, tentacle monster we had to fight years ago?” Stephen asks.
“Yes, that one exactly! Anyway, I attempted to fight it off, trying to protect y/n and the sanctum when it pinned me to the floor with one of its tentacles. I thought I was done for when your daughter opened and closed a portal right through the monster, causing it to slice in half” Wong lets out exasperatedly.
“Well that’s a good thing isn’t it, my daughter saved your life, bragging rights for me achieved” Stephen smiles at Christine who glares at him in response.
“No, it is not good, the Sanctum is now housing half a squid monster, along with its brains smeared along the walls, and your daughter has Sorcerer magic.”
“How is that part bad?” Stephen questions.
“Well now it isn't just you I need to monitor for things going wrong, I bet she has inherited the ‘trouble gene’ from your side.”
Stephen puts a hand on his chest, mocking a hurt expression.
“Well she certainly got the smart gene from my side, isn’t that right my little Sorcerer.” Christine addresses you, as you smile with pride.
“You’ve changed your tune.” Stephen muses.
“I wouldn’t be so cocky, you’ve got a Sanctum to clean.” Christine remarks.
“Oh no, I am no longer the Sorcerer Supreme, it’s no longer in my job description to clean up in the Sanctum.” Stephen says in defence.
“Well if you don’t go and help Wong clean up, next time y/n goes to cover your Levitating Cloak in glitter, I won’t stop her.” Stephen whips his head round to face Christine.
“You wouldn't,” Stephen practically gasps.
“Oh but I would, see you later, Dr Strange.” Christine takes you upstairs to get rid of any stray slime that made its way onto your clothes.
Knowing Christine is one to keep to her promises, Stephen admits defeat and makes his way to the portal to the Sanctum that Wong conjured.
“You know, I think the glitter would improve your look.” Wong lets out.
“One more word out of you and you’ll be cleaning all of this up on your own” Stephen lets out.
Though he’s not in his ideal situation, he couldn’t be happier to know that you have Sorcerer potential- he couldn’t be prouder.

Since the snap, everything scattered into nothing. Life suddenly felt lacking. The joy, the crowded rooms, the love and happiness that was shared from one person to another was suddenly gone just in a snap of a finger.
But at least you have your mom right? She's there every day trying to assure you that someday everything will be fine, that the world is still the same even if half of the people were gone.
But it's not the same.
Even if your mom tells you how it's fine. How she acts that she got it all together. You know deep down she was not okay. That she's trying to hold on to everything.
You are an Avenger. She is too.
You didn't even know if the Avengers still exists. Sure your mom still communicates with Carol, Steve, Rocket, and the others but there was barely anything else to do.
The constant looking of your mom at the security of the compound that you know was unnecessary cause it barely had any interaction with any of it. Your mom always finds anything she could fix even tho some of it was a natural occurrence.
Those were the signs that she was trying to hold on because of that you had hoped too.
You and your mom became the glue that stick with the Avengers. You both pulled on the strings the others were trying to let go. You both won't let go no matter how much it burns your hands and your mind trying to tell you to just move on and set them free.
But you both cant.
So when they found a solution. You and your mom were ecstatic. The strings that you both tried to pull were now coming closer. The Avengers were back again to save the world.
You and your mom were both assigned to Vormir. Your mom and Uncle Clint were paired up but you insisted on switching places with him. So Clint went with Cap, Tony, Bruce, and Scott instead.
You were breathless hiking at this freaking high peak mountain. And you thought that was the hardest part but it wasn't.
When this red muscular system man said the words "A soul for a soul" you manage to scoff at how ridiculous his face and what he claims to be the only way to get the stone.
"This is ridiculous ma" you scoffed, eye-rolling at the red-faced man who looked at you with the ugliest stare. "You don't actually believe this shit" you stared at your mom who gave you a glare.
"Sorry for cussing" you shrugged. "But I mean maybe he's lying, right? Or maybe he's she? I don't know!" You exclaimed, honestly you didn't think it was a lie this was one of your nervous rambling. The hanging jokes that were one of them.
"No y/n, he's not lying" your mom murmured. She was rather calm or was it just a facade?
She walked toward you and held your hands. She traced your arms up unto your shoulder and to your head. Encouraging you to rest your forehead on hers.
"Thanos left with the stone, without her daughter" your mom muttered. Was she deciding for you? You know what the next sentence would be. You know she'll sacrifice herself. Her voice was more of a decision than a debate. Her eyes bore into yours telling you how much she loves you.
You looked at her with the same determination. You'd rather die than to see her die.
"Now you have to leave without yours" you whispered. With a quick and firmed motion, you pinned your mother down, causing the redhead to gasp at the impact. Her eyes blurred for a moment and she sees you running to the cliff. Once her vision cleared she aimed her widow bites at your back and hits you bullseye causing you to fall and spasm.
Natasha immediately got up and wasted no time running to the cliff. She leaped at the edge and closed her eyes bracing for the impact but much to her dismay you jumped with her.
You both whirled at the air and with a swift motion, you attached a harness to her back and aimed at the cliff. The abrupt stop made both of you hit the rocks of the cliff and at one minute you slipped into your mother's hold and hung with one hand to hers.
Your mother grasps you with a tight hold. She looked at the harness and realized it was very well attached.
"Damn you" she breathed. She was always proud that the Avengers find you much better than the ex-assassin. You were more precise and calculated. She always bragged about how you could beat her but right now she hated the fact that you had beaten her. You smirked at her and looked down at the ground.
"Mama, let me go" you uttered. Nat shooked her head in disapproval. You saw how her eyes held anger, protest, and distress. You gave her your best smile. That smile reminded her of your first smile when you were a baby. That smile was what gave her hope and right now it gave her anguish that she didn't wanna feel.
"No y/n/n, you can't leave me" she protested, her voice was low, and she swallowed the lump in her throat. "I can't live without you okay?"
"And I can't live without you" you breathed out. You holding on to your mom were straining your arm. And the gravity was pulling you down. You needed to let go.
"It's okay mama. You can stop holding on now" you assured her. You looked down at the bottom again and up to your mom. Your eyes and hers were both filled with unshed tears.
"I love you" you whispered and with a last push, your hands slid on your mother's hold. Even falling you smiled at her to convince her that you weren't worried, that it was okay.
The last thing you saw and heard was your mother's scream and her scrambling at the harness trying to catch you but it was useless you were gone.
She blinked and the scene was new. She looked around trying to see if it was a nightmare but it was not. The stone proved it.
Your mom held the stone close to her chest. Crying in agony. You were gone and she didn't say she loved you too. She loved you with all her heart. There were many things she wanted to tell you. She needed to tell you that you were her hope, her reason to live and to thrive. And she can't do that without you.
She wanted to see you grow. To see you get married to a boyfriend or girlfriend. She wanted to spend every birthday you had. She wanted you to be here.
She never felt this pain before. The pain that she heartfelt seeing you fall. It was constricting and unbearable. She never felt guilt like this before. She wanted to be swallowed by the ground, to be gone and be with you instead.
She came back at a time without you. She didn't see you in a minute. She lost you in a minute.
The team won and made sure all the sacrifices were worth it.
They won but at what cause?

natasha x stark!reader
natasha opened the door to the compound and saw the lights were still on. that how she knew you were waiting for her. she walked into the kitchen where you were sitting by the kitchen table drink some soda.
you looked up and down on her not saying a word, clearly angry at her for breaking the promise she made to you.
''come on lets get you patched up''
you walked towords the bathroom while natasha folows you. she usually insisted she didn't need it but if there was anyone more stubborn then a romanoff, its a stark.
you turned the light on and grab the med kit while natasha sat on the towel you laid on the ground before she arrived. her wounds were minor just some cuts and bruises. the entire process both of you were scilent.
''i say you get some sleep. you're probably gonna need it''
she raised a eyebrow at the phrasing. ''what about you?'' surely you must be tired. ''i'm gonna sleep next to alan tonight. he has trouble sleeping recently'' natasha felt a slight spike of guilt in her chest. she had been on a mission for almost a month thinking you be fine on your own but the red eye/eye bags said otherwise.
both of you were scilent as the elevator went down. you had built a seperate place for you the 2 of you. both wanting a domestic life while also being close to the compound if duties ever called. natasha left to change and you went to the nursery where you saw you son sleeping in a small bed rescinded of a basket. you had built a crib for your son but with how hard time he had with sleeping it was just easier to use a basket as a bed for him.
he whined a little and you immediately rubs his belly. ''shhh it alright, petal. its alright'' you smiled when he continued to sleep. you used your index finger to get his red hair out of his face. you sang a little song to him and putting yourself to sleep as well. natasha watched the entire thing since door was open with a creek. as soon as she reailsed you were a sleep she grabbed a blanket and put it on you and snuggled next to you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you woke up to random gibberish. you looked up to see your 14 month old chewing on your fingers wich you couldn't help but giggle at. ''no al momma isn't a chewing toy'' you wipes the baby spite on your pants. you pushed the blanket off of yourself. natasha must have put it here. you thought to yourself and picked up your son. you got yourself ready while you had alan in the other hand with a plastic toy version of your hero suit.
you went to the living room and started to breastfeed alan. he latched on and sucked hard clearly hungry for his breakfast. natasha sat at the kitchen counter eating cereal without saying a word. right before she walked out of the kitchen you hit her with the question that been on your mind for months now.
''how long until you stop?''
she turned to you with a raised eyebrow.
''stop with what?''
''acting like you don't care''
''i do care'' she snapped back.
''if you did you wouldn't have left like that''
''y/n its my job, i had to leave!''
''that not my point...'' you gave her a side eye
''then what is your point?'' she crossed her arms
''its that the fact you keep going back at your words. how am i suppose to believe you when you broke your promise to me for the how many time now?''
''i wasn't able t-''
''bullshit. steve told me you turned down a promotion''
natasha eyes widen at the accustation and your raised eyebrow draws a sigh out of her.
''i didn't want to because my job makes me happy. i don't see why this such a probleem. you never had a issue with it before, why now?''
your hand ran thru you. ''you really just don't get it, do you?''
''what do you mean?'' the was a bitterness to the way she said it.
''cause it isn't just about the 2 of us anymore, its about him'' you glanced at you son happily sucking on your breast. natasha posture relaxed slightly with the realisition that this is about your guys son.
''he is a bab-''
''i know but i know you too. you have a habit off going off on your own and how do you think that going to affect alan when he 5 or 8?''
she didn't answer making you sigh. ''look i'm not asking you to quite, i just want you to do something that allows you to stay home atleast 1 day a week and not get back injured even if there minor''
''i can try'' she didn't look you in the eyes
''natasha, i need you to adjust''
she sighed and sat on the couch next you with a good distant apart.
''i know, its just so much has changed. not too long ago i thought this would be nothing but a dream, its alot to handle''
''i know what you mean. i thought with the kinda life i lived i never be able to a have a big family i always dreamed of having but here we are'' you smiled down at your son. being a stark came at its cost. you had enemies only because of your family legacy. you thought you never get married. that everyone either wouldn't be able to handle the risk or would just use you for your last name.
''but thats parenthood babe. the hard part isn't figuring out how to do it, its sacrificing apart of yourself day in and day out''
''how do you do it?'' you looked at her confused. ''i mean you make it look so easy''
you shruged ''i guess being raised by a alcoholic playboy that was clearly not ready to be a parent forced me to grow up abit'' natasha couldn't help but frown a that, cause its true. it was clearly to anyone tony was a reckless dad to you but the love was also clearly there.
''you know why i love my dad so much despite all the bullshit he put me thru?'' natasha shook her head.
''because for every mistake he made, he apologize to me, he believed in me when no one els did, listened to me when i felt helpless, was there for me when no one els did. his love made up for all the mistakes he made and i want the same for our family but you can't do that if you aren't at home''
you turned to face her, making alan look up to you clearly done with his breakfast.
''but the question isn't if you can do that, i know you have enough love for 6 kids but its about whether you allow yourself to do so cause it does take vulnerabilty'' you put her hair behind her ear gentlely rubbing her cheek with your finger.
''think about alright, not for me but for him''
you walked out of the room to leave natasha with her thoughts and to get your son some fresh air, knowing you message was clear you just hoped natasha would try not to fall back into old habits.

Today was the day of your final game of your college teams basketball game. You anxiously waited around for your dad to show, knowing he’d probably not. He always had some excuse like being busy at work, or having made plans already.
That was never the case though, it was always the fact that he was just pure lazy and didn’t give two fucks about you and the stuff you did.
It hurt you, it hurt you badly. Your step mom, Wanda, on the other hand was amazing. Stepping up to take his place any moment she could. You honestly didn’t believe how the woman married that man, but little did you know she only stayed for you.
Wanda had developed a small crush on you, then it grew. Anytime she watched one of your games, she’d have an aching throb between her thighs. Watching your skilled body move around the court, the sweat dripping down your body. The tone in your voice as you yelled at your teammates, trying to get their attention. You truly were the mvp of the team, and everyone adored you.
As you stood around by the door waiting for him, one of your teammates informed you that your couch wanted you in the locker room. You huffed and began to walk away from the entrance, until the door flew open. You craned your head around and there stood Wanda.
“Oh my god Wanda you made it!” You yelped as your arms flew around her body, your taller figure towering her. “I couldn’t miss my favorite girls final game, now could I?” She chuckled, earning a giggling and smile from you.
“I’d walk you to the gymnasium, but coach wants me. Plus the game starts soon, so I’ll see you after?” You asked. “Why don’t I come with you? I have something I wanna try on you.” She hummed, to which you shuddered and nodded with confusion.
What could she possibly want to try, were your thoughts while you two walked to the locker room. Her hand resting on your back, almost too close to your ass.
Once the two of you reached the locker room, you guided her into where your coach was. “Coach Romanoff?” You asked, the older woman turning around. “Oh hello Y/n, I needed to discuss some things with you before the game. Who’s this?” Natasha pointed to Wanda.
“Oh this is Wanda, my step-mom.” Wanda extended her hand to Natasha. “Nice to meet you..?” Wanda paused, “Natasha.” She responded. Wanda nodded, “Nice to meet you Natasha.” Natasha nodded and took her hand, “Like wise.”
After a while of Natasha discussing game plans with you, Wanda’s hands rested on your shoulders. Massaging the tense muscles. “Detka, you’re so tense. What’s wrong?” She quipped, and you nervously eyed the two women. “I- just nervous I guess.”
You lied as well as you could, you knew it wasn’t believable thought. It was hard to hide the fact you had a massive crush on your step-mom, alone with your coach. You knew it was wrong, all so very wrong.
Natasha and you messed around a couple times, quickly shutting it down when you two were almost caught by one of your teammates. You didn’t know that Wanda knew though.
She had caught you texting her multiple times about non-basketball related things, but chose not to say anything. She did feel rather protective of you, which is why she insisted on coming with you to see Nat before the game.
Wanda hummed, then glanced up at Natasha. “I know that’s not the reason, it’s because your step-mom’s hands are rubbing across your muscles and your filthy coach keeps eyeing you. Such a dirty girl you are.”
A gasp escaped your lips, Natasha eyes painfully trained on Wanda. “What do you mean by that, Wanda?” She asked sternly, her teeth gritted.
“Oh don’t act like a fool, I know that you know you get Y/n here to whore herself out to you.” Another gasped came from you, Wanda’s fingers found your lips and pushed past them.
“Hush you little slut, don’t you act surprised either.” Whimpers escaped your lips, a groan erupted from Natasha. Wanda laughed darkly, her fingers toying with your mouth.
“Why don’t we help you out before the game? We can’t have you this tense before the game, it is the final after all.” Wanda suggested, and Natasha thought for a second before agreeing.
Wanda retracted her fingers from your mouth, earning a whine from you. Her hands slide down to the hem of your jersey, pulling it over your head followed by your bra.
Her long fingers tugged at your perky nipples, using your spit that lingered on her fingers to wet them. Wanda looked up at Natasha, “Don’t just stand there, get over here.” Natasha hurriedly walked over to the bench, sitting down next to you.
Her lips attach to your nipple, biting and sucking. As she did this, Wanda’s hands worked at your tense arms and shoulders. It drove you crazy having your step-mom standing behind you, while your coach was latched to your nipple.
Natasha’s hands wandered across your stomach, tracing your abs. Her hand then slipped past the hem of your basketball shorts, teasing your clit through your soaked panties. Her mouth left your tit, capturing your lips.
Her tongue tangled with yours, and you were so caught up in the kiss you hadn’t noticed Wanda moving to sit on the opposite side of you. Wanda watched the two of you as Nat pumped her fingers into your pussy, and your tongues dancing with one another. She also hadn’t failed to realize the prominent bulge in Nat’s pants.
She kneeled down in front of Natasha, unbuckling her belt and tugging her pants down. Wanda’s hand rubbed Natasha through her boxers, causing her to groan into your mouth.
Wanda pulled her boxers down, her cock springing free from its restraints. Wanda admired the woman’s size, her hands pumped at Natasha cock a few times. Her tip leaked with pre-cum.
Wanda’s lips wrapped around the coach’s cock, sheathing her cock down her throat. The sight of Wanda sucking off your coach quickened the arrival of your orgasm. Nat removed her hands from your panties, making a show of her cleaning them off. Even having Wanda lick your arousal off them.
“C’mon baby, come help mommy suck your coach’s cock.” Wanda suggested, as she grabbed your hand leading you to kneel in front of Natasha. Your tongue ran down Natasha’s dick, as so did Wanda’s.
You both took turns sucking her off, but Natasha was most fond of the way Wanda pumped the base of her cock and sucked her balls, while you sucked the tip of her cock.
With one final squeeze at the base of her cock, Natasha’s cum spurted into your mouth, you taking everything she gave. “Open your mouth, let me see her cum in your mouth.” Wanda demanded, so you stuck your tongue out. “Spit it into my mouth.”
You complied, trying your best to spit Nat’s cum into her mouth. Once you did, Wanda’s lips latched to yours. Your lips moved hungry against each other, cum dripping down both of your mouths.
Natasha pulled you to your feet, pulling off your pants and panties then, onto her lap. Giving you a searing kiss on the lips. Wanda took hold of Natasha’s cock, guiding it to your pussy. As you sunk down on Natasha, you whined at her size.
She began to bounce you on her cock, while Wanda took your hand and guided you to her pussy. Natasha lips suckled at your nipples, her fingers dug into your hips. You tried your best to finger Wanda as well as possible, but Nat’s erratic pace made all thoughts in your head disappear.
“M’ gonna breed this little pussy.” Natasha husked against your chest, throwing all abilities to think out the door. “Here, come eat mommy out while Natasha fucks you.” Wanda spoke up, aching for her own release.
Natasha helped you lay down, spreading her legs and shoving her cock back into you. Wanda straddled your face, her pussy hovered over your mouth. Your tongue flattened out past your lips, and Wanda began using your tongue to get off.
Wanda and Natasha shared a kiss as they both used you to get them own orgasms. Wanda furiously rode your face, while Natasha’s pace became unsteady. Her cock twitched, then her cum spilt from her cock. Yours and Wanda’s orgasms following quickly behind.
You lapped at Wanda’s pussy, drinking up all of her arousal. Nat pulled her cock out of you, your hole clenching around nothing. You whine at the empty feeling. “Hush baby, you gotta get out of here quickly. The game is about to start.” Natasha said.
Wanda quickly hopped of your face, then helped you collect your clothing and redress. She pressed a quick kiss on your lips. “You do good out there and I’ll reward you later on. Okay?” She whispered in your ear and you nodded, then she sent you on your way.
“What did you say to her?” Natasha asked as her eyebrow cocked. “Don’t worry about it coach, you better get out there too.” Wanda teased, and they both slipped back into their clothes.
Your team winded up winning the game, and Wanda kept her promise. Natasha also followed along.

“Hey baby,” you say as you lean on the doorframe of Natasha’s home office.
She spins around in her chair and smiles up at you. You never tire of seeing that beautiful grin.
“Are you saying hi to me or the actual baby?” She jokes.
“Both of you.”
You walk further into the room and make grabby hands for your six month old daughter. Nat hands her to you, knowing she’s hungry and wants to see her other mom.
You kiss her forehead and hold her against your shoulder. She presses her head against your neck and whines softly.
“I know, sweetheart,” you coo, trying to soothe her a bit. “Are you coming, Mama?”
“Soon,” Nat replies. “I need to finish up a few things.”
“Don’t take too long please.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”
You share another smile with your wife and leave to go feed your baby girl. The process takes a while, but the bonding is very much worth it. She is ready to burp by the time Natasha makes it to her nursery.
“Let me do it,” she says. “You’re still work clothes and we both know this girl will spit up all over you.”
“Thank you, honey,” you reply. She usually makes fun of the pet names but today she doesn’t say anything.
She helps the little girl burp and does in fact get covered in spit up in the process of doing so.
“You okay?” You ask her.
“Oh yeah, I love being covered in this,” Nat says dryly, but not seriously.
You take Ali back and feed her more. Nat sits on the arm of the rocking chair you’re sitting in.
“No, I mean are you okay?” You ask, placing a hand on her thigh. “You haven’t teased me about the pet names since I’ve been home today.”
“I know,” she says. “I think I’m too exhausted. I’m sorry.”
Her voice sounds distant and worse for wear. You hate seeing her like this.
“Hey, come on baby tell me what’s going on,” you say. “It’s just me.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Natasha,” you warn. She knows she needs to just be honest. You already can tell something is off with her.
“The team needs me to go on a mission,” Nat admits.
“Oh.”
“And I know we discussed me having a whole year of desk work once Ali was born,” Nat continues. “But this one is just out of my control. I’ve been working overtime to try and figure a way to get the intel I need without going.”
“But it’s not working,” you finish for her.
“No it’s not,” she agrees. “I’m so frustrated.”
“Natasha, you can’t always fix everything.”
“But I want to,” she says unreasonably.
“I know, baby. It’s going to be okay.”
You lean your head against her arm. It’s the best you can do for now as you juggle an eating baby in your arms.
Ali finishes and Nat takes her back into her arms. You go to the living room to sit together. Nat puts Ali in her play chair.
You two sit together and watch her giggle and play.
“Call Steve and the team,” you say after a few minutes. “Tell them you’ll go on the mission.”
“But-“
“No buts,” you interrupt her. “I can handle baby girl. And you won’t rest until you’ve figured this out.”
“You know I love you, right?” Nat asks.
“And you know I love you, right?” You counter.
“It’s one of the few things I’m sure of these days,” Nat says.
“Come here, Natasha,” you say, holding out your arms for her to fully snuggle into.
You kiss her lips softly before she snuggles into your chest. You hold her tight for as long as she wants.
Everything will be okay as long as you have each other.

Don't Belong part 2
Masterlist Natasha Masterlist
Part 1
Word Count: 5499
Relationship: Mother WandaNat x Daugher Reader
Summary: After Y/n's accident on her mission, her mother's are terrified that they might not get the chance to make things right with their daughter. That's assuming Y/n wants anything to do with them when she comes around.
Nat: Mama Wanda: Mom
Nat's POV:
It's been over 24 hours since Y/n came out of surgery and she's still unconscious with a machine helping her breathe. I thought she would have been awake by now and there'd be a relief that she was on the start of her long road to recovery.
Instead, Wanda and I are glued to our seats next to her bed. We've only gotten up to use the bathroom. Otherwise, we've remained by her side. Pepper kindly offered to take the boys for as long as it's needed. Though they are both very anxious to see Y/n themselves. They might be young, but they understand that she's hurt. They love their sister, and they want her to wake up just as much as we do.
I've not slept since we found out that she was hurt, and I don't plan to until she is awake. Though the longer it goes on, the more my body is fighting against that desire. I want to be there when she wakes up to show her that her moms are going to be there for her the whole way through her recovery.
Wanda and I have spoken a lot over the last day. We've shared our pain and sadness, whilst making sure we come up with a plan to help her with her recovery and to ultimately gain her forgiveness.
We both know that Y/n will not forgive us easily, if at all. But that doesn't mean that we're not going to try with everything in us. For too long we've allowed her to go about her life thinking that we don't love or care for her anymore. She has every right to feel that way after how we've treated her. But she will not ever question that again.
The both of us are sat in silence, both of us watching over our daughter. My eyes are trained on her chest, making sure that she is still breathing, gaining a lot of comfort from the rhythmic rise and fall of her chest. However, the silence doesn't last long until the door flies open.
Out of instinct, both Wanda and I shoot up from our seats and take a defensive stance in front of our daughter to protect her from any danger. However, we soon relax when we see Yelena's worried face. "I came as soon as I could." She tells us as she moves closer to the bed, her hand hesitant as it reaches out towards her niece.
Yelena has been away for most of the time over the last few years. She's been helping to find all the widows and has only come back for a couple of days at a time. Each time though, she has always made time for us. "How is she?" She asks, as I pull up another chair for my sister.
"It's not good. She's still in critical condition. They had to remove part of her liver, but Cho reckons that if she can get through these first few days, that she'll be on track for a full recovery." I fill her in as her eyes never leave Y/n. "Clint said that it was a double agent that set her up." She states and we nod in clarification. "I'll be paying a visit to Fury when I'm done here." She announces, an anger to her voice. "We've tried to see him, but Fury won't let us anywhere near him." Wanda warns her but Yelena just scoffs. "I'll get to him one way or another." She states and I believe her. She's incredibly protective of the people she loves, and she'll want to make sure that he pays. I actually hope that she does.
"Wait, you said you were with Clint?" I question her and she nods. "Yeah, he was with me on my last mission. He's waiting outside, he didn't want to intrude." She responds, pointing towards the window behind her where Clint is stood with a young girl next to him. "Who's with him?" I ask. "Kate Bishop. Clint's stray. He's going to see if she can join Shield." Yelena explains. "She was with us and had no where else to go so I said she could stay here for now." She adds on. If Clint thinks she's worthy of Shield, then I believe that she is. She must also be good if Yelena has been working with her. She wouldn't let anyone help who would slow her down.
"How long are you back for?" Wanda steps in with her own question, making my own ears prick up for her response. "As long as I need to be. I want to be around to help with her recovery." Yelena replies, making me smile. Y/n is going to need all the help she can get, and she adores Yelena, so I'm glad that she's not going anywhere any time soon.
After a while, we indicate for Clint and Kate to come in. We go through our introduction, and I can see how enthusiastic Kate is. She's very chatty and I'm surprise she's not pissed off Clint and Yelena yet though! "I read about Y/n in the Young Initiative files." Kate shares. "Did you know she is the only recruit to ever get a perfect score. She could have passed the exams two years ago and still topped the class." She tells us enthusiastically. "Sounds like you're a fan." Yelena teases her, making the young girl blush. "I guess when your parents are the Black Widow and the Scarlett Witch, you're going to be good." Kate chuckles.
It makes my gaze drop, something that Yelena clocks on to instantly. She's not been around so hasn't seen how we've treated Y/n. I'm actually worried for when I tell her. She's going to hate us for it and I'd be surprised if she even lets us stay around Y/n. "Y/n did it all on her own. With a little help from Steve. Her talent has come from her own ability and desire to be the best." Wanda corrects Kate, showing that we have no claim to how good Y/n is at being an agent. "Oh, that's even more impressive then. You must be really proud." She smiles at us and we both nod. "More than she'll ever know." I mutter.
__________
When Kate and Clint leave, Yelena is quick to question Wanda and I. We tell her of what's been going on and how ashamed we are and how much we want to be able to fix everything. "You don't deserve to fix it." She spits angrily at us. "It's no excuse to say that you got lost in the boys. Y/n is your daughter too and she needed you." She shouts, calling us both out on our actions. "We know Yelena. We can't take back how we've treated her. But I promise that we won't every do anything like that again!" I tell her sincerely. "No, you won't. I won't let you. If you are going to be back in her life as the parents you should have been, you have to be all in. You promised to be better than we had Natasha!" She tells me firmly with a finger jabbing into my chest.
"I know Yelena. I wish I had a valid excuse or reason for what we did. I will never forgive myself. I will always have a hatred towards myself for ever making her feel the way we did. But I'm not going to wallow and hide away from it. I want to own up to the mistake and try and fix it. I know that it's not going to be an easy fix, but I will stay here and face the brunt of the anger and pain that she's feeling because I will not give up on her. Not again." I tell her passionate. "Neither of us will. I promise you Yelena, we will do everything in our power to fix this." Wanda steps up and adds her own promise, taking my hand. At least we have each other through all of this.
Yelena doesn't speak, she just looks between the two of us, her chest heaving with anger. It's intimidating to be the one on the receiving end, but we deserve it. I'm glad that Yelena is here. She simple nods her head and that is the subject over with. For now.
That night, my body ultimately wins, and I end up getting a couple of hours sleep. Though it's full of nightmares that I can't seem to escape and then when I wake up, I'm terrified that Y/n will be awake already and I'll have missed it. But when my body wakes with a jolt, I'm met with my sleeping wife and still unconscious daughter.
I stretch out and move closer to the bed and take Y/n's bruised hand in my own. "I can't lose you. You are my daughter, blood or not and I love you so much. I know I haven't shown that to you and there is no excuse for that. I also know that you have every right to never forgive me. So, my only request, is please wake up. Please survive. I don't think I can live in a world without you in it." I plead with her. Hoping that somewhere in her subconscious she can hear me. I squeeze her hand, hoping for any response, but nothing comes.
The day goes by slower than usual. That is until Cho comes in to check on Y/n and gives us the good news that she should be able to breathe without the ventilator now. Wanda and I step outside as we watch through the window. We're holding on to each other tightly as we watch. "This is good. She's strong and this is the first step to her waking up." Wanda speaks. I can hear the hesitation in her voice, showing that she is trying to convince herself more than anything. "You're right. She is so strong. I know she's going to wake up soon." I add on, smiling at my wife.
Cho soon joins us with a smile. "She's doing well. She's now breathing easily on her own. I expect she'll wake up within a few hours. I'll be back to do a full examination then so we can assess her injuries." She informs us. I feel a sense of relief wash over me. Hopefully it won't be long until our daughter is back with us.
The next couple of hours seems to drag by. Clint, Yelena and Kate all paid another visit but left to try and sort a room out for Kate in the compound. Steve was then the next to join us, taking a seat at the end of Y/n's bed. It's a long wait until we finally see a twitch to Y/n's eye.
I'm the first to my feet, leaning over to see if I had imagined the small movement. "Y/n, honey. It's mama. Can you hear me?" I ask her, fighting off the tears threatening to fall. With a flutter, her blues eyes lock on to mine. "She squeezed my hand." Wanda says excitedly. "Baby, we're here." She tells Y/n, who's got a confused look in her eyes.
"You're in the medical wing sweetheart. You got shot on your mission." I explain to her. "S-t-Steve." She stutters out. "He's fine. He's here." I reassure her, waving for Steve to come closer. "Hey kiddo. Boy we're glad to see you awake." He tells her with a relived smile. One that she returns. "I'll got and get Dr Cho." Wanda states, quickly leaving the room. "T-the m-mission." Y/n starts but Steve is quick to stop her. "Is not to worry about right now. Just know it wasn't your fault. But we'll explain it when you're doing better." He tells her, earning a nod. She reaches out her hand to Steve and he instantly takes it. "You're not allowed to scare us like that again." He chuckles, his voice wavering.
"S-sorry." She replies, her eyes fluttering again. "It's ok sweetheart. Don't fight it if you want to sleep again." I tell her softly. She doesn't really acknowledge me, but she does seem to listen as her eyes flutter shut once again.
They don't stay closed for long though, soon woken up by Cho as she comes in with a wide smile. "There's my favourite patient." She smiles at Y/n, who grins in return. "I bet you s-say that to e-everyone." Y/n responds through a struggled chuckle. "But with you I actually mean it." Cho winks, before looking over Y/n's chart and obs.
She takes the time to explain Y/n's injuries to her and the plan for her recovery. I see her face drop when she realises she's going to be in the hospital for at least another week before being on strict bed rest when she's discharged. "I'll be around if you need anything or have any questions. So please get one of the nurses to get me if you need me. That goes for all of you." Dr Cho offers. "Thank you. For everything." I tell her sincerely. She gives me a tightly smile before turning on her heel and leaving the three of us too it.
With Cho gone, it's silent in the med bay as Wanda, Steve and I just watch over Y/n. She is struggling to keep her eyes open, but I can see a pain in them when they lock on to mine. "You should get some rest kiddo." Steve speaks up as Y/n nods in return. "W-will you s-stay?" She asks, making Steve smile widely. "Of course." He returns, moving to get another chair to sit with us. At that confirmation, Y/n seems comfortable enough to let her eyes close and for sleep to take back over.
It's almost agony to see her asleep once again. We've been waiting for so long for her to wake up, for her to be asleep so soon is tough. I almost want to start apologising and showing her that we're going to change and it's going to stick. But I don't want to overwhelm her. At the moment, her recovery is the most important thing. As much as I hate it, earning her forgiveness will have to wait.
"Now she's awake, you two should head to your apartment. See the twins, eat some proper food, and get some sleep. I can stay with her." Steve offers, but I'm quick to decline. "I don't want to leave her." I tell him, whilst gripping her hand tighter, my eyes not leaving her sleeping form. Steve lets out a sigh. "She'll be asleep for a while, and she needs you both on top form." He tells us.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up to see Wanda smiling warmly at me. I hadn't even noticed that she had moved from the other side of the bed. "Steve's right. We've been here for days. If we want to do what's right by Y/n, then we need to look after ourselves as well." She speaks sense.
With a huff I stand from my seat and lean forward to press a kiss to Y/n's head. "We'll be back later sweetheart. I love you so much." I tell her softly then move so that Wanda can say goodbye too. With one last look to our daughter, we both reluctantly leave. Though I smile when I see Steve move closer and take Y/n's hand in his own. Although I will forever regret how we have treated Y/n, I'm glad that she has had Steve there for her.
Y/n's POV:
Well, that was not how I wanted my first mission to go. I wanted to impress everyone, not end up in the med bay with part of my liver missing! Waking up was a weird experience. Seeing my parents' faces were the last thing I expected to see. They seem genuinely worried, but that was probably all a front for everyone else. They can't be seen to not care about the daughter they've ignored for the last few years.
When I wake up next, I see Steve smile down at me. "You're still here." I say and he nods. "Of course. I wanted to make sure that you're ok." He replies, making my own smile grow. I look around and my smile drops when I see that my moms aren't here. I can't hide that it hurts a little that they didn't stick around. But I shouldn't care about that. They haven't cared about me.
"Should have guessed they would go once I woke up." I complain, wincing as I try to adjust myself in bed. "Careful Y/n/n." Steve scolds me as he shoots to his feet to help adjust my pillows. "I told them to go." He admits and I look at him with a frown. "Not like that. But they have not left your side since you were brought in. They weren't looking after themselves and if they are going to help you through your recovery, they need to be at 100%" He explains but I just scoff.
"I don't need their help with my recovery. They didn't care before I was hurt, they don't get to care now." I groan. Steve takes his seat again and looks at me with his, "I know I'm right" look. "Y/n. I know you don't believe it, but they do care for you. They were cut up when you got hurt. They were devastated that they wouldn't have the chance to be able to make things up to you." He says. I roll my eyes, but he continues. "Look, I'm not saying you have to forgive them. But you can't question how much they have cared for you over the last few days."
"Fine, but I'm not going back to their place to recover." I huff, folding my arms. "Considering you've been shot and in a medically induced coma for the last few days, it's good to see it hasn't affected your attitude." Steve teases.
We sit in silence as I think about my parents. They surely can't think that just because they've been sat beside my bed whilst I've been hurt is going to make up for everything that they have done over the years? Who's to say that they won't go back to how they were once I'm healed? I have a place at Sheild now. Somewhere that I can make a name for myself and create my own family.
"I'm sorry I messed up the mission." I break the silence, my mind now moving on to the fact I failed at my first mission. "You didn't fail anything kiddo. We were set up. If anything, I should apologise to you. They were after me, but you were the one to get hurt. You did a great job of take on as many agents as you did." He explains, taking my hand in his. "You fought, and it's because of your skill and ability that you're alive. You impressed everyone." He assures me, running his thumb over my bruised knuckles.
Our moment is broken when my moms walk back in. "You're awake!" Mom says excitedly as both her and mama move into the room quickly. Steve moves back from my side, which I frown at as mama takes my hand in hers. I'm quick to pull it away. The hurt that flashes across her face doesn't go unnoticed, but I'm not in the mood to pretend like everything is ok right now.
"How are you feeling?" Mom asks, appearing to my left. "I'm fine." I respond shortly, receiving a warning raised eyebrow from Steve. "Are you in pain? I can get the nurse to come in and get you some pain killers." Mom fusses. "I'm fine." I repeat the same words. "That's not true, you've been wincing since you've woken up." Steve rats me out. Traitor. "If a 40 calibre bullet went through you, I'm sure you'd be wincing too." I snap. "Told you. Amazing how your attitude hasn't changed." Steve chuckles.
However, both my mom's look at me with worried looks. "I'm going to get Dr Cho. You look pale." Mom worries before rushing out the room.
Mama reaches forward and places her hand on my head, which I quickly try and move away from her touch. "You're hot. I hope you're not running a fever." She states. "Like you care." I mumble, but she hears it and that look of hurt appears on her face again. "Look Y/n. I know you believe that we don't care or love you. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I want nothing more than to talk to you about it and start to make up for everything. But right now, all that matters is your recovery. You can hate us and ignore us or yell at us, but we are not going anywhere." She states firmly, her eyes locked on to mine. I just roll my eyes and turn to look at Dr Cho who has walking into the room.
She checks me over and I notice the frown on her face. "What's up?" I question. "I'm worried about your temperature. I want to run some tests, but with the inflammation to your incision, I'm worried you've got an infection. It's nothing to worry about as we've caught it early. But we'll need to keep a close eye on you." She replies. "So, no discharge yet then." I huff.
Cho chuckles and looks up from my chart. "It's funny you think you were close even without this infection." She teases. "Aren't you meant to be nice to me? I'm a patient after all." I pout. "If I'm on good behaviour, can I get out early?" I plead. "Maybe in a week. But you'll be on strict bed rest and need to be cared for. You're still technically a minor." Cho breaks the news and I know exactly what she's getting at. "But I'm 18 in like 4 days! Besides, I literally got shot on a mission for Shield. Surely that's enough?" I argue.
"Y/n, you are going to struggle to walk, let alone be able to properly look after yourself. Even after you're 18, you'll need support during your recovery. It isn't a simple road ahead for you." Dr Cho returns. "So, what are you saying?" I get straight to the point. "I'm recommending that you are discharged to your family. You'll be in the compound so if anything goes wrong, you can get the right medical attention straight away." She explains. "Really? There are no other options. Can't I stay with Steve or something?" I ask but she shakes her head.
"Y/n, come on. It's what is best for you. Your moms will be there to help. I'll be away on missions so can't give you the care you need." Steve speaks up, but soon shrinks back as I glare at him. "Really, what makes you think that I'll get the care I need at home?" I growl, my anger building. "Y/n..." Mama starts but I cut her off. "No! You can't just stand there and act like the caring parents when you have done nothing to back that claim up. I've been the forgotten daughter for years! Slowly I have been pushed out this family and now you want me to just act like everything is ok and trust that you'll look after me?!" I yell, that frustration finally finding its way out.
"Y/n, you need to calm down. Your heartrate is getting too high." Dr Cho tries to calm me down. "Kiddo. You're ok. You need to give them a chance." Steve tries to reason. "A chance like I was given? I've practically raised myself these last few years!" I snap. Why is he suddenly defending them?!
"Please sweetheart. You're going to make yourself sicker. We want to be there for you. We're not denying how badly we've treated you. But I promise that it will never happen again. You'll be safe with us. We just want to be able to care for you and help you get to full health." Mama speaks, her eyes filled with tears. I look between her, and mom and I see that she's almost inconsolable. "Do I have a choice?" I sigh, turning to Cho. "Technically, yes. But physically, you won't be able to follow through with it." She breaks the bad news. Suddenly the sounds of my heart monitor becomes noticeable so I lie back and take a couple of deep breaths. I can feel all their eyes on me, and I let out a sigh. "Fine whatever." I respond. I just need to do everything that Cho tells me so I can heal as fast as possible and move back to Shield and start my life again.
__________
The next few days are not fun. My infection hit me pretty hard, and I spent a lot of time either sweating or freezing whilst fighting the urge to throw up. I hate being stuck in this bed and I just want to be healthy again and being able to go on missions. Before it went south, I was loving it. Even if it was just a small one.
I'm also finding it hard that my mothers are suddenly around all the time. Mama is much better at not smothering me. Mom on the other hand, she is always fussing. But that's her and I used to love it when I was younger, when she actually cared about my wellbeing. "Wands, she's already said she has enough pillows." Mama sighs, her own frustrations growing. "Yes, sorry you did." Mom apologises, slowly putting the pillow down she had in her hands.
"Can I get you anything else? Some food. Though the food here is pretty horrible. When you're back home, I'll make sure to cook you something tasty with the food you're allowed to eat." She starts to ramble. I'm not going to lie, that does sound amazing, and I'd kill for a bowl of paprikash right now. I remember when mom taught me how to cook it. It was one of the last memories I have of us spending quality time together.
I don't realise I'm smiling until I see both my parents looking at me warmly. I quickly shake it off, not wanting to let them think that I'm enjoying this in the slightest. "You know what. A sandwich would be good." I say, taking them both by surprise. I've not been very talkative, but I could do with a break right now. I know I won't be able to get rid of both of them, but I can at least take a break from mom fussing.
"Of course. I'll go and make you something up and bring it down. The bread is always dry here." She speaks, grabbing a couple of things and turning to leave. "Maybe I'll check with Cho if you could have a smoothy." She mumbles, making mama chuckle as she leaves.
I let out a breath of relief. I feel slightly less suffocated. But I am still very aware of mama's eyes boring into me. I'm used to her being quiet. She always observes, making her conclusions before talking when it's necessary. But seeing her now, it feels different. I'm pretty good at reading people and I can tell that she is lost in her own thoughts. I've only seen her like it a couple of times before and it's been after particularly difficult missions. Ones that bring up bad memories for her.
I grab the TV remote and try and find something to watch. I end up with Rizzoli and Isles on. I don't really watch it, but the sound is helping to break the awkward silence. Just after they break the case in the show, I notice mama sit more upright in her seat.
"When I found you in Hydra, I knew instantly that I wanted to help you. There was something about you that melted my heart. When we found out that you had no family to return you to, it wasn't even a question, I knew I was going to adopt you. In that short space of time, I had spent with you, I grew to love you." She starts. I don't look to her, my focus on the TV.
"Even though you had been through so much, you had this happiness around you. You were grateful for everything and found the joy in the smallest thing. I just wanted to give you a life that you deserved. When I married Wanda, I was so happy that I could give you two loving parents." From the corner of my eye, I can see her smile tearily as she picks at the skin around her fingers.
"I failed you Y/n. When I adopted you, I promised that I would be the best parent to you. That you would never want for anything. What's worse, is I never even noticed what I was doing. What we were both doing. I've always prided myself on being able to read people, but I couldn't see the damage I was doing to my own daughter." She continues, pain evident in her voice.
"I wish I could go back in time to change how we acted with you. To include you fully with the twins, to support you in your work in the Shield Programme. To show that even with the boys, you were loved and an integral part of this family. All I can do is apologise and promise that we are not going to let that happen again." She finishes, finally look up to me, a couple of tears falling down her cheeks.
"It's been years. We're not just talking about a couple of months here." I speak up, still not able to lock eyes with her. "Steve became more of a parent for me than the two of you." I admit, and that seems to make mama's heart break a little more. "Is it because I'm not biologically yours and moms?" I ask, my voice shaking.
Mama is quickly to her feet and takes my hand in between both of hers. "No. Of course not Detka, and I will forever hate myself that I've allowed you to think otherwise." She tries to reassure me, a panic in her eyes. "I wish I could give you a reason for why we acted like we did. Initially, it was because we were so focused on the boys, but after that, I have no idea. I wish I could pinpoint why, maybe it would make this all easier. I know you probably don't believe it, but I love you as much as those boys. Blood doesn't matter to me. You are my daughter as much as they are my sons. I know and feel that through every fibre of my body." She expresses. The sincerity is evident in both her voice and facial expressions. "Saying sorry isn't going to fix this. You only knew what you were doing because I called you out on it. Had I not gotten shot, would you have made any effort to rectify what was wrong?" I question her, my anger growing.
"We wanted to. We were planning on taking you to breakfast to talk and work out a way that we could make things right with you. But you had gone, and we couldn't get to you. You have a lot of people at Sheild that love you." She chuckles humourlessly. That is true. Maria is like an aunt to me and her and Fury happily kept my room allocation secret, "Look, I know that we don't deserve your forgiveness, but it doesn't mean that we are going to stop trying." She states firmly.
"It's not that simple mama. I have learnt to live without you now and I've got my own place with Shield. We can both move on with you getting your perfect biological family and I get the career I want." I say, but that only makes mama cry more. "No, our family is only perfect if you are in it too!" She almost shouts, but she's quick to calm herself down. "Look, we've got to live together through your recovery, let's just see how things go after that ok." She proposes. "Fine, but I can't promise anything will change." I respond and she nods. "I know. But I'm going to try everything to earn your forgiveness." She comes back with a newfound confidence.
We fall back into a silence, one that feels more comfortable. Mama looks less stressed, but her brow is still furrowed. When mom returns, the quiet is broken again, despite mama trying to get her to calm down. I try not to smile when she tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I miss this caring side of my parents so much. But for me, it's too little, too late.

You can add some angst of her not being able to trust them and so on. But over time there family dynamic falls back but they notice y/n is hiding something because she always disappears and is seen talking on the phone. One night they think they hear talk in y/n’s room so they wait a few hours before they check it out and its y/n being super cute with her gf. she introduce her gf who helped her through the snap.

Tears. That’s all you remember. The endless crying of that night. Your moms had told you they had to leave for a while to fight an important battle. They told you they would be back. They lied.
You remember Steve coming to your home. The home you grew up in. The home you three had lived in for your entire life. You were excited when you heard the door open. You thought your moms had returned. They hadn’t.
Steve was standing in the door opening, and the look on his face alone was enough to make you cry. So that’s what you did. For the entire night you did nothing but cry. You couldn’t believe your moms would break their promise. You couldn’t believe your moms would never hold you again.
Steve had taken you out of your home that night. He said he wanted you to stay with him, so you would be safe. He told you it’s what your moms would’ve wanted, but you had no interest in listening to him. You didn’t sleep that night. What happened wouldn’t leave your brain. You were devastated.
After a few weeks in the compound, you had started feeling angry. The first few days you felt numb, and you supposed feeling angry was better than that, but in reality it wasn’t.
You would ignore Steve. You wouldn’t eat or take care of yourself. All you could be was angry, and you and Steve fought all the time. After two months, you decided to leave. You were a few weeks away from your fifteenth birthday, and Steve was trying to get you excited for it, but you didn’t want to be.
Usually, you would be so excited you couldn’t sleep, but this time you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. Steve talked about it non-stop, and you just couldn’t take it. What was the point in celebrating your birthday if the most important people wouldn't be there?
That was when you decided to leave.
You found an apartment in Seattle, wanting to be as far away from the compound as you could. That’s where you lived for the past 5 years. You were 19 now, and your life was different than it was when the snap happened.
You used your training to kill. You found that killing people was the only way to ease your anger, ease your thirst for revenge.
You weren’t proud of it. How could you? Your moms had taught you how to fight to protect, not hurt. You couldn’t find it in yourself to care, however. Your moms were gone. There was no reason in thinking about what they would or wouldn’t agree with.
You were currently sitting on your couch, cleaning some of your knives. You had another successful assignment yesterday and you were exhausted. There was a lot of commotion in the world, and your assignments were flooding. It seemed that suddenly everyone wanted each other dead. You didn’t know why, but then again, you didn’t follow the news.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a knock at your door. Besides Charlie, no one knew where you lived, and she wasn’t set to come home for another few days.
Hesitantly, you opened your door, and you almost broke at the sight.
In front of you were two people. Two people who you believed you’d never see again. Wanda gasped, clearly shocked by the wounds you carried on your face. Maybe the fact you’d grown 5 years shocked her too. Natasha just stared. She couldn’t believe it. Their little girl was all grown up, but that isn’t what shocked them the most.
The emptiness in your eyes did.
Wanda made the first move to hug you, and in your shock you didn’t react. You hadn’t thought this day would ever come, and now it did.
Natasha seemed to snap out of her shock, moving to embrace you as well.
They cried. You didn’t.
When they moved into your apartment you were quick to clean the knives from your coffee table. You were afraid of how they would react. You knew they would be disappointed, but you just weren’t ready for a lecture of them yet.
Natasha and Wanda stayed in your guest room, and much like the night you lost them, you were awake. You couldn’t sleep, and you knew they wouldn’t be able to either.
The next day Natasha and Wanda had convinced you to move back into their apartment. They kept telling you how sorry they were for leaving, and how they wanted to make up for all the years they lost. You agreed, moving back into your childhood home. You didn’t know how you’d react if they ever were to return, but you never expected to feel so… numb.
You had lived together for a few days now, and you had a hard time trusting them. You fought a few times already, mainly with Natasha. You refused to call them mom and mama again. You just couldn’t. Wanda was just trying to be there for you, while Natasha was more set on getting answers.
You were frustrated. You couldn’t provide your moms with any answers. You didn’t have any.
Last night you and Natasha fought again, and she yelled at you saying she couldn't recognise you anymore. You were lost. You didn’t know how to react.
All those nights you wished your moms would return to you, and wishing things would go back to the way they were. Now you wished things would go back to the way they were after they disappeared. You didn’t want to face them, and living with them again after so many years proved to be much more difficult than you initially thought.
Most nights you spend in your room, talking to the only person that stayed the same through all of it.
You spoke to Charlie most nights. She was the only person you had found comfort with all this time. The only person you felt you could trust, and the only person you felt you could be yourself around.
Charlie lost both of her parents in the snap as well, and when you were on an assignment one day to kill a dangerous man, you had found Charlie in one of the rooms in his house.
She was locked up, and she looked sick. You had taken her home with you, caring for her wounds. She didn’t speak much, only thanking you when appropriate. You didn’t mind much. You were happy you could still do some good. You were both 17 at the time, and you grew close quickly.
Charlie had told you what happened. How she lost her parents and the man had taken her. You offered her to stay with you, and she agreed. You grew closer quickly, and your friendship soon developed into something more.
Charlie was the only person you cared about. The only person you could be yourself around. The only person you loved through those years.
Charlie had reminded you of your humanity, and she never scolded you for doing what you did.
It’s funny, really. All those nights you spend on your own, in the bed of your new apartment, you longed to be laying in your own bed, with your moms downstairs. Now, while you were lying in the bed of your childhood home, with your moms downstairs, you longed for the nights in your own apartment. Spend watching movies and eating cheap take out with Charlie.
You hadn’t told your moms about Charlie yet. You didn’t know how to. You didn’t know you wanted to.
Your moms were downstairs, discussing your behavior. Wanda was crying. She felt so incredibly hurt by the fact you called her ‘Wanda’ now. She missed the days you called her mommy. When you would come running downstairs all excited because you had a random thought you felt like Wanda should know.
Her and Natasha were talking about how you seemed so closed off. So cold. How you were always in your room and how it seemed like you were hiding something.
Tonight, while you were on a call with Charlie, Natasha had decided to check on you, wanting to talk to you about their concerns. When she reached your room, she could hear you talking to someone. She decided not to knock on the door, instead opening it to see you lying on your bed, with your back turned to the door. You didn’t notice she was standing there, to captivated by your phone call.
You were giggling, and Natasha wasn’t sure when she last heard you laugh.
Natasha just stood there, soaking up your happiness. When you ended the phone call, you told Charlie ‘I love you’, which didn’t go unnoticed by Natasha.
When you turned around you were startled, and when you released Natasha was eavesdropping you were upset.
“I’m sorry,” Natasha told you, and you sighed, sitting up in your bed. Natasha sat at the end of your bed, not wanting to make you uncomfortable by sitting too close. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, it’s just been a while since I’ve seen you laugh.”
“I’m sorry too,” you told her, not wanting to look at her.
“I understand it must’ve been hell for you, and it must have been so confusing, even now we’re back. It’s confusing for us too. A few weeks ago you were our little 14 year old girl, and now you’re all grown up. I’m sorry we don’t know how to help you, and I’m sorry we weren’t there,” Natasha told you with tears in her eyes.
You sniffled and shook your head. “I’m so sorry. I’ve been a terrible daughter. I was never mad at you. I’m just so angry, and I didn’t know how to handle that,” you explained to her, tears rolling down your cheeks.
Natasha pulled you into a hug, the first you’d had since the night they returned. You cried together, and Wanda, who probably heard the crying, came upstairs and sat next to you on the other side.
You kept crying, repeating ‘I’m sorry’ until you were so tired you couldn’t keep your eyes open anymore.
You fell asleep in their arms, and when you woke up, they were still there.
You had all moved down to the kitchen for breakfast, and for the first time in 5 years, you were eating breakfast together, talking. There was no tension, no crying, no fighting and no yelling. Just talking.
“So who was that girl on the phone yesterday?” Natasha suddenly asked you.
You looked up at her quickly, surprised with her question. “What?” you asked her confused. “Yesterday you were talking on the phone with a girl. You seemed really happy.”
You looked at your plate, pushing the leftover fruit around on it. “We’re not mad, just curious,” Wanda told you. “Her name’s Charlie. She’s kinda my girlfriend,” you told your moms hesitantly.
You didn’t look at them, but you felt Wanda scooting her chair closer, engulfing you in a hug. “We’re so happy for you!” she exclaimed, and you relaxed in her arms. “Thanks,” you mumbled. Natasha sat down in the chair on the other side of you, rubbing your back. “Where is she now?” Natasha asked.
“Still in Seattle. We lived together in that apartment,” you told her, sitting up straight again.
“We should invite her over, if you want too,” Wanda suggested. You nodded. “I’d like that,”
Two days later Charlie was standing in front of your door again, and she hugged you tight. “I’ve missed you,” you murmured. She nodded, kissing your forehead.
When she let you go, she noticed your moms standing behind you. Natasha was the first one to introduce herself, telling her it was nice to meet her. Wanda was next, giving her a small hug.
You had dinner that night, the four of you, and after finding out you had lived together for 2 years, Wanda suggested she should stay for a while. Charlie agreed, and you couldn’t be happier. The night was ended with movies, you in Charlie’s arms, just like all those other nights. The only difference was your moms sitting next to you, smiling at the wonderful young woman you’d grown into.

Y/N was given to Maria Hill, a close friend of Natasha Romanoff, to care for while her mothers fought Thanos with the rest of the Avengers. It’s already been hours without any kind of notice on what’s going on, which made her incredibly nervous. But this was her mothers’ job, she was used to it.
“They’ll be alright, they always are.” Maria states as she notices Y/N tearing away the skin around her nails, blood already gathering to the wounds. “Not even Thanos can beat them.” She gives her a comforting smile, sitting next to her.
Y/N hums with a nod. “I know, Aunt Maria.” She mumbles. Her mothers have always come back home, just like they promise when they leave through the door. This time wouldn’t be any different. They wouldn’t dare to break such a big promise.
“You should eat something. I could order us a pizza and we could watch a movie to take your mind off of it all?”
“Sure.” Y/N appreciates the way Maria tries to comfort her. She doesn’t usually watch over her, as most of the time she’s working with the Avengers, but this time Natasha personally asked her to stay with Y/N. Maria was only one she trusted to do anything in her power to protect their daughter.
Looking through movies, Y/N decides on Frozen. A childhood favorite of hers, a movie her moms had to sit through just a few too many times, though they never complained. She leans against the couch, waiting for Maria to come back so they could start the movie while waiting for food.
Something drops to the floor.
Y/N turns to look towards the kitchen where Maria was just standing in, but is now completely empty. “Maria?” She calls out. Frowning, she stands up and walks over. “Where’d you go?” Her foot accidentally kicks something under the fridge. She groans and kneels down, moving her hand around to find whatever slid there. Finally grabbing the object, she pulls it out and stands up. It’s Maria’s phone.
The phone call is still on going. Quiet hellos coming through from the other side, until the pizzeria hangs up. Gripping the phone in her hand, she starts going through the rooms of the apartment, looking for aunt Maria. She doesn’t understand where she could’ve went so quickly, especially without her phone.
Her breathing picks up and heart starts beating faster when she realizes Maria isn’t there anymore. Before she can fully comprehend the situation, loud crashing comes from outside.
Running to the window, Y/N opens the blinds and sees pure chaos. Cars crashing into each other, a helicopter falling down, people screaming and running and..disappearing into dust. A deep pit grows inside Y/N as she stares at the scene unfolding in front of her. Her moms, she can feel this’ll be the first time they break their promise.
The hallway is loud as multiple students laugh and talk over each other. Everyone is walking towards their next class, through not all of them are in a hurry to do so. Some of them sneak off to the toilets or hidden parts of the stair well together, while others just walk out of the university building, simply not bothered to be there. Y/N is one of those people.
Her hands are in the pocket of her jacket and the hood of her hoodie is pulled over her head. She’s trying to be as small and invisible as possible. And she has been, invisible, for the past five years. She doesn’t have friends, only some people she can barely call acquaintances, nor does she have any family left.
No one really knows where the blipped people are. People got tired of trying to figure it out after three years. Y/N lost hope of getting her moms back two years before that. She knew she had to get used to being alone, and that she did.
She finished high school and got into college, barely, but her education was always important to her moms, and she couldn’t bear the feeling of disappointing them, even if they weren’t with her.
With a grunt, Y/N pushes her door open with force, cursing at the poor condition of it. Her apartment is in bad shape, but it’s cheap, so she has to live with it. Slamming the door shut, she throws her keys to a bowl and slumps down to the couch. Closing her eyes, she leans her head against the back of it after putting the television on to fill the never ending thoughts running through her head.
The television is playing old reruns of How I Met Your Mother, which makes Y/N laugh bitterly. She used to watch it with Wanda, who desperately wanted her to share the love of sitcoms with her. She just never found them that funny. Now she wishes she did. She wishes she could laugh at them like her mother did.
She blindly switches the channel. There’s no use in pretending to like sitcoms now.
The apartment gets filled with sounds from an action movie. Her body relaxes as she takes a deep breath. However, loud knocking from the other side of the door jolts her body back up. Her face turns into a frown as she stands up to go to the door, nobody comes to see her.
Y/N opens the door, her eyes widening the moment she recognizes who is standing in front of her.
“Y/N?” Wanda whispers, eyes full of tears and hands covering her mouth. Her little girl is all grown up. They missed so much. She takes a step forward, but Y/N instantly takes a step back. The hurt is evident on her face.
“You’re back.” She mumbles.
“We’re back.” Natasha smiles. Tears are already streaming down her face. “Can we come in?”
Y/N opens the door wider, letting Wanda and Natasha in before closing the door. They all stand there, no one really knowing what to say or do. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” Wanda’s eyes trail over her, looking for any physical wounds. “The only thing in my mind while we fought Thanos was you.”
“Thanos is gone?”
“Yes,” Natasha answers, “for good.”
Looking away from her moms, Y/N tries to process everything. Her eyes are stinging from the unshed tears and her hands are shaking do much she has to hold them behind her back so they wouldn’t see. She scrunches her brows together. It’s been five years.
“Little one?” Wanda sets her hand on Y/N’s shoulder. The urge to hug her daughter is overpowering, but the way she stepped back from her swims through her mind. She doesn’t want to overstep.
“Don’t call me that.” She mumbles, swatting away her hand. Her voice is harsher now. “I’m not okay. I was left alone for five years. I had to grow up at 14.” Y/N stares at her mothers. In the logical part of her brain, she knows her parents aren’t to blame for it, but the anger she has felt all these years is taking over.
“It’s horrible that you were alone for so long, we feel awful for not being there for you. You’re all grown up, and you had to do it without us.” Natasha takes a slow step forward, as if not to trigger Y/N. “It’s unfair. So unfair to you. You shouldn’t have gone through that.” Her voice cracks. She can see the pain in Y/N’s eyes. She was never able to hide anything from her.
“But we’re back now.” Wanda leans down slightly, coming to the same level as Y/N.
“No. You don’t know me anymore.”
“You’re still our girl.”
“No.” She shakes her head. Her breathing is getting more rapid as her face turns into anguish. It feels like all the feelings she has pushed down are coming out all at once. The lump in her throat is growing and her sight is getting fuzzy. “I’m not her anymore. I haven’t been her for a long time. I’m an adult now and I don’t need you!”
“Nothing could take our little girl away, you hear me?” Natasha is now close enough to set her hands on Y/N’s shoulders. She’s holding tightly enough so she won’t run away, but still gently so she won’t hurt her. “We know who you are deep down no matter what, because we are your parents,” she moves her hands to cradle crying Y/N’s face between them, “we are here, whether you need us or not. But we need you. We need our girl to be here.”
The minute Y/N’s cries turn into inconsolable sobbing, both Natasha and Wanda wrap their arms around her, carefully lowering to the ground. They whisper sweet nothings into her ears, while crying themselves. Knowing their daughter was alone for five years makes their heart ache for her in a way they have never ached before. Their daughter is the most important thing to them, and they weren’t there to protect her from the dangers of this world.
“We’re so sorry, little one, so sorry.” Wanda whispers, her face buried into Y/N’s hair. She holds her eyes closed as she takes in the now unfamiliar scent of her conditioner. It’s not the kid’s strawberry one she has loved for years anymore, she doesn’t recognize it. The feeling of everything about her being changed in what felt like five seconds to them feels so difficult to understand. It is partly true that they don’t know their daughter anymore, but Wanda eager to find out everything.
“I missed you.” Y/N says once her sobbing has stopped and her breathing has calmed down. “I missed you so much it hurts.”
Natasha kisses her cheek. “We’re never leaving you alone again.”
Pulling away slightly, Y/N sniffles. “You can’t promise that anymore. I was without you for a long time, you can’t expect things to go to the way they were five years ago.”
Wanda’s thumb rubs Y/N as she nods. It’s difficult to hear those kind of words, considering the gap has been significantly shorter for them. “We understand,” she moves Y/N’s eyes to meet hers, “but we have to try, okay? Because I refuse to lose you.”
Y/N nods, leaning her head against Wanda’s chest, completely exhausted from the day. She closes her eyes as Natasha plays with her hair and Wanda hums a Sokovian lullaby, just like they did when she was a kid.

Tumblr media
You were unpacking your study books from your backpack when your mother knocked on the door, chewing on an apple slice, she smiled softly at you.
"Who was that you were hugging just now?" She asked in her thick British accent as she leaned against the door frame. Your cheeks felt warm as you turned to face your mother. "Just a friend" you replied.
You've been dating Natasha for a few months now, it was still rather new and not a lot people knew, just a few friends. Natasha is a year older than you and you weren't too sure how your mothers would react to the small age gap or how they would react to you dating in general.
"Oh, come on sweetie, I know a friendly hug when I see one and that wasn't one" you Peggy tease as she took a seat at the end of your bed and watched as you set your homework on your desk ready to tackle after an afternoon snack.
"Were you spying on me?" You asked with a cocked brow. Your mother chuckled, "I'm afraid that noticing things is a huge part of my job that now just comes naturally outside of work. So, come on, who is she?"
You couldn't help the growing smile that took over your face, you took a seat next to your mother. She was always the one you got along with a little better. You loved Dottie but sometimes you felt she was a little harder to connect with than Peggy. "Her name is Natasha" you answered, blushing more than you wanted to show.
"Natasha" Peggy repeated, "How about you invite her to dinner tonight, we'll have pizza and a movie. I want to meet this girl who's making you turn redder than tomato" she added. Playfully, you rolled your eyes but agreed to ask her.
----
When Dottie came home from work, she hugged you tightly as if it would be the last time she would hug you but you didn't think too much of it and asked how her day was.
"It was, well, work. How was your day?" she replied. She never spoke about her job or what she did. In fact, you never knew what she did for a living, you once asked when you were around six years old, and she told you she as like mommy and helps take the bad guys off the streets, but her job was super-secret and only mommy knew about it. You never asked her about it again after that.
You were only a year old when Peggy found you abandoned in a dark alley way. She took you to the hospital and called child services, she stayed by your side the entire time you were in the hospital. You were malnourished and very underweight for a baby of your age. When the time came for you to be released from hospital and into the care of child services, Peggy couldn't bare somebody else taking care of you and that's how Peggy became your mother. You were two years old when Dottie and Peggy got married and now you have two mothers.
"Oh you know, school is, well, school" you replied to tease.
"Very funny" Dottie cocked a brow, "why has mom got the dinner table set?" She asked when she noticed the table was set for four instead of three. You sat down on the sofa and picked up the television remote before working up the nerve to tell her who was coming over. "Uhm, well, my girlfriend is joining us for dinner tonight, it was mom's idea" you replied quickly turning the TV on.
"Girlfriend? Since when?" Dottie frowned. You chewed your bottom lip, "Since four months ago" you kept your eyes on the TV only to be saved by Peggy just before Dottie could ask anymore questions.
"Honey, your home!" She smiled, placing a kiss on her wife's lips.
"Who is this girlfriend that is coming over?" Dottie asked before Peggy dragged her into the kitchen. You couldn't hear much but little whispers here and there. You knew that Peggy was telling Dottie not to overreact and that there would be a time when you would bring somebody home to meet them.
You tried to listen more but a knock at the door made your stomach flutter with nerves as you got up to answer it. Natasha smiled softly in her leather jacket, jeans, and black tee. "I hope I'm not late" she spoke. You shook your head, "early actually, the pizza hasn't arrived yet" you smiled as you invited her in.
"Just a heads up, Peggy is excited to meet you and Dottie, well, I'm not too sure how she feels. She just found out a moment ago that I had a girlfriend" you rambled. Natasha placed a kiss on your cheek, "it'll be okay" she whispered.
Your mothers came out of the kitchen, Peggy smiled instantly while Dottie's eyes widened. You didn't want to say anything, but it disappointed you that she wasn't even ready to give Natasha a chance to show how amazing she was.
"You must be Natasha, it's lovely to meet you" Peggy greeted your girlfriend.
"Y/n didn't mention you were English" Natasha replied, lying of course.
"Oh, yes. England born and raised" your mother smiled once more, "this is my wife, Dottie. Don't mind her, she's had long day at work" she added as Dottie stepped forward to shake Nat's hand. She noticed the look of worry on your face and for your sake gave the red head a soft smile, "it's lovely to meet you" Dottie said.
"Thank you both for having me over tonight, it's a pleasure to meet you both" Natasha replied.
----
You and Natasha sat across from your parents while the four of you chatted and ate pizza, neither one of your mothers were great cooks so you were glad it was take-away night for Natasha's sake.
"You mentioned you moved to Ohio, where were you before that?" Dottie asked. If looks could kill, Natasha would've been dead the moment your mother laid eyes on her. During the entire dinner you noticed that your mother was very focused on Natasha while Peggy was more laid back and enjoyed your girlfriend's company.
"I was actually born in Russia and my family moved to Ohio because of my father's work" Natasha replied, keeping strong eye contact with your mother who didn't seem to relax.
"Well, Y/n didn't mention you were Russian!" Peggy commented with a chuckle as she referenced Natasha's first comment to her earlier in the night. Natasha chuckled, "Russian born and raised, kinda" she replied. Dottie excused herself from the table, using the excuse to use the bathroom but you knew it was just a way for her to leave the room. You followed after her, Peggy taking a deep breath and offered that her and Nat go outside and enjoy some fresh air.
"What is your problem mom?" You asked, following Dottie into your parent's bedroom. She turned to you and shook her head, "She needs to leave and you're not to see her again. Do you understand me?" she said sternly. You closed the door behind you to prevent Natasha from hearing anything that left your mother's lips.
"No, I don't understand! You've known her for a few hours, and you haven't even tried to give her a chance!" You snapped.
"I don't need too; I know this is hard for you to understand but this is for your safety"
"My safety?! Natasha isn't some criminal you and mom need to take off the streets!" You frowned.
"She's worse that that! She's exactly the type of person I don't want my daughter around!" Dottie snapped; you've never heard this tone from her before. Her eyes were full of worry which took you back, your mother had never looked at you with so much fear before. "What is it mom?" You asked in a calmer tone. Dottie shook her head, "you need to ask her to leave, and you can't see her again, I need you to trust me" she repeated.
"No, if you want Natasha to leave, you ask her" you replied before leaving the room to join Natasha and Peggy outside. "Everything okay love?" Natasha asked, placing a hand on your hip while she brushed a lock of hair behind your ear. "Yeah" you sighed, "can we go get some ice cream or something? I don't want to be here right now" you added.
"Honey, your mom just needs a little time to get used to that fact you're growing up" Peggy inserted herself.
"No mom, she didn't even give Natasha a chance and you know it!" You looked over at your mom with tears of frustration filling your eyes. "I think I know what this is about" Natasha replied softly, "let me go talk to her" she added, placing a kiss on your forehead.
"Don't say another word" Dottie's voice made you turn to the back door where she stood.
"Dottie!" Peggy snapped, "Leave it alone" she added. Your mother's words made you frown, "no, why can't Nat say anything? What is going on?" You demanded answers.
"I'm not going to lie to her, Dottie, you might but I won't" Natasha looked at your mother before turning to you, "Your mother and I have the same job, it's not even a job. We don't get paid. We're trained at a place called the Red Ro-"
"Natasha!" Dottie interrupted with a stern tone while her eyes burned into Natasha's. "Can I have a word?" She asked. Natasha nodded and followed your mom into the living room while Peggy did her best to keep you from following them.
"I hoped this day wouldn't come so soon" your mom started.
"What do you mean mom? Please, can you just tell me what's going on?" you asked with arms crossed over your chest. Peggy sat down on one of the outdoor chairs on the porch, she patted the seat next to her and you took a seat beside her. "Your mom used to work for an organisation called Red Room. I've been working endlessly to try and find the location of this place but it's almost impossible. They take girls, from the street, pay for them and brainwash them. Your mother was trained to kill people…" Your mother went on to explain.
Tears streamed down your face by the time Peggy had finished explaining everything to you. Now you know everything and the reason why your mother never told you how work was because she's been trying to stay in the organizations good books to get back to head office to give Peggy the location. Natasha is what they call a widow, she's on a mission and being with you was never part of the plan.
You went inside, not caring about what Nat and your mother were talking about, you walked by Natasha and hugged your mother tightly. She hugged you back just as tight before you let her free and turned to Nat, "so how about that ice cream?" You asked with a soft smile. Natasha read between the lines and nodded, "do you guys want to come?" You asked looking at both your mothers.
"You know what, ice cream sounds really good right now" Dottie smiled softly, "Natasha, what do you drive?" She asked.
"A motorcycle" Nat replied. Dottie looked to Peggy then back to Nat, "How about I drive us" she suggested.

Y/N: 13 years old ——————————————————
NO ONE'S POV Ever since Y/N was a little girl, she has always sneaked out of her room everytime her father and step-mother had a visit. She knew it's not a good idea, especially when her father always scolds her for it, but she's way too curious.
Her curiousness led her to one very important information. A few years ago she overheard her father's boss talk about her mother… the real one. And since then Y/N's been trying to get out of this place and find her mother… the Black Widow herself.
She hates this place, she really does. The main reason is that her father is forcing her to train every day, so she could become a hydra agent one day.
Yes, Y/N's father is a hydra agent. He's actually one of the most trusted one for his boss, so that's why he was chosen to become the father of the future world's best assassin.
"Weak!" Y/N's father yells, pushing the poor exhausted girl and causing her to fall on the ground. "This is worthless! Go to your room, we'll continue tomorrow. I want to see you in way better condition, understand?!" He asks sternly.
"Yes" Y/N nods, trying to catch her breath. Her father leaves to room, leaving the exhausted young girl laying on the ground.
Once Y/N catches breath, she makes her way to her room and then straight to the bathroom to take a shower, thinking that she needs to get out of here as soon as possible.
As nearly every Friday night, Y/N's father and his wife are going out for dinner, leaving the girl home completely alone. Y/N doesn't mind though, at least she can finally get out of here and never ever come back again.
As soon as the front door shut and the car drives away, Y/N takes her bag and starts packing everything she needs.
With her bag in her hand, she rushes downstairs, trying to open every single window to try and find some her father hasn't locked. The door is locked, so there's no point in trying.
A smile makes its way on the girl's face when one of the window can be opened. She puts on her coat, takes her bag and gets out of the house, running as fast as she can to get as far as possible.
She runs and runs, finally arriving to a small village which makes her smile and let out a sigh of relief. She's too overwhelmed with everything that she doesn't pay attention to where she's going.
"Careful, little one" A blonde lady says, making Y/N cheeks turn a bit red.
"S-sorry" Y/N sutters, not used to talking to other people than her father or her step-mother.
"What are you doing here alone? It's dangerous. This place's…" Yelena stops, looking at the last few standing houses.
This little village is near one hydra base, so of course when some of the Avengers came to take that place down, the village didn't survive without a damage.
"Well, let's just say a very bad people lived near this little village" The blonde finishes her sentence.
"I. Hm… I-I'm looking for my mom. She. Hm. She's supposed to be some kind of superhero. Her name's Natasha Romanoff. Have you heard of her?" Y/N asks, a bit of hope in her voice as she looks up at the shocked woman.
"Natasha? What? She can't have children on her own. I… what?" Yelena stares at the child completely confused, but now noticing how similar the girl looks to her sister.
"Wait. So you know her? Could you please take me to her? I can't go back there, I really can't. Please" Y/N begs and Yelena can't help but nod as she's also curious how this happened.
Y/N follows Yelena to the quinjet, meeting Kate, Clint, Steve and Bucky there. Of course they look at the two with questioning looks, so Yelena tells them something before she sits aside with the young girl.
Yelena admits she's Natasha's sister, so Y/N tells her the story too, feeling like she can trust this woman. She does feel more and more nervous every minute they get closer to the compound though. She's wanted to meet her mom for a few years and she's worried about what will Natasha think about the whole situation.
As soon as the jet lands in front of the compound and everyone walks out, Y/N is quick to follow behind Yelena, spotting a redhead sitting on the couch.
"Natasha?" Yelena calls on which Natasha turns her head, smiling when she sees her sister.
"You're back" The redhead stands up, walking over to her sister and giving her a hug while Y/N stands behind and watching them, her heart nearly skipping a beat when she sees how much she looks like her mother.
"I brought someone who'd like to meet you" Yelena informs, placing her hand on Y/N's shoulder and giving the girl a soft smile.
"H-Hi, I. Hm. I-I'm Y/N" Y/N sutters, giving Natasha an akward nervous smile.
"Hey?" Natasha looks at the girl completely confused. "What can I do for you?"
"I. Hm… I-I know this will sound weird, but I-I'm your daughter" Y/N blurts out, looking at Natasha and hoping she'll believe her.
"Nonsense. I don't have a child" Natasha says immediately, the topic of children being a touchy subject for her. She turns around, walking away, but Y/N follows her.
"I can explain. Please"
"Y/N, you seem to be a nice girl, but this is a really bad joke. I can't have children on my own. It's just impossible" Natasha says with a sigh, not even turning around and continuing to walk towards her room.
Of course she's noticed the girl's features, but Dreykov made sure she won't ever have children on her own, so Y/N surely cannot be her daughter as she claims.
"It's not a joke. I really am your daughter. If you just let me explain, I-"
"No. I can't have children, Y/N" The redhead says once again, shutting the door of her room right in front of Y/N's face.
Y/N lets out a sigh, pushing back the tears that are forming in her eyes. After all, she left her home, her father… Her life wasn't the best, but what now? She has no place to stay, no home, no family.
Maybe the girl gave her hopes too high, thinking her mother would actually be happy to have a daughter. Y/N was really hoping she'd finally have a family she wanted for so long, but deep down she knew Natasha's reaction could be bad… and well, the redhead doesn't even know the part about hydra.
"What's wrong?" Yelena asks as soon as she spots her potentional niece stepping into the kitchen with her head low.
"She won't let me explain" Y/N mumbles with a sigh. "It was stupid, I should have stayed there" She mumbles to herself.
"Let me talk to her, yeah? Wanda here will give you something to eat meanwhile" Yelena smiles warmly, placing her hand on Y/N's shoulder and giving it a rub.
Y/N nods, so Yelena walks away and straight to her sister's room. After hearing Y/N's story she just wants nothing but to help the young girl. She knows Natasha would be a great mother and Yelena's already excited about being an aunt.
Yelena knocks at the door of Natasha's room, not getting any response, but she just walks in anyway, finding her sister sitting on the bed, deep in thought as her cheeks are stained by tears.
"Natasha, I know it's hard to believe, but Y/N explained everything to me. You're her mother. Isn't that what you've always wanted?" Yelena asks, sitting down on the bed next to her sister.
"Yelena, I can't have children and neither can you. It's just impossible. What if she's just a spy or something, huh? Have you thought about that?" Natasha blurts out, standing up and leaving the room. She really doesn't want to talk about it right now.
"Natasha, just talk to her" Yelena sighs, following her sister to where she's going.
"Why, Yelena? If I'm her mother, she needs to have a second parent. Why doesn't she go to him? Where does she live anyway? She has to live somewhere. I don't even want a daughter" Natasha's irritated by now, not meaning the words she's saying, but that's something Y/N doesn't know though… and she's heard every single word.
The sisters stop walking and talking when they notice they're suddenly in the kitchen, Y/N looking at both with watery eyes, thinking how stupid it was to look for her mother.
The girl immediately stands up from the table she's been sitting at and eating her food, taking her bag and rushing out of the compound, ignoring Yelena's calling after her.
The blonde runs after her niece immediately, catching her sooner than she leaves the compound.
"Hey, hey, you can't just leave. It's getting late and cold" Yelena says, bringing Y/N in for a hug on which the girl can't hold her tears anymore.
"I just wanted a mom" Y/N cries out into Yelena's shoulder, holding the blonde tightly.
"I know, sweetheart, I know. I'm sure Natasha didn't mean it, honey" Yelena tries to calm the girl down, rubbing her back and pressing a kiss to her head.
———
Yelena managed to get Y/N to stay. Both are ready to go to bed now, but a knock at Yelena's door interrupts them.
Natasha hasn't stopped thinking about it… if it's really possible that she could have her own daughter. She feels so incredibly bad for making Y/N cry and she's always wanted a child, but what if it's just a trap?
She did decide to talk to the younger redhead though. Natasha always recognizes when someone's lying, so she'll see if the girl's telling the truth or not.
"Hey, can I have a word with Y/N?" Natasha asks after opening the door.
Yelena nods, telling them she's going to the kitchen for a glass of water, so the two stay alone. Natasha takes a seat on the bed, looking at the girl who's avoiding an eye-contact.
"Y/N, I… I know I said something that hurt you and I'm sorry for that. I just… I've lived my whole life, thinking I would never have a child on my own. So when you told me you're my daughter… It just felt… impossible" Natasha admits.
"I was made in a lab. They used your eggs to create me. I heard my father talking about it with his boss a few years ago. I just thought that maybe if I found you… that maybe I could have someone who'd actually love me" Y/N confesses, trying to push back her tears and not cry in front of the woman in front of her.
"So you have a father… doesn't he love you?" Natasha asks, receiving a shake of a head from the girl.
"He's just completing his boss's orders and trains me to become a hydra agent, but I don't want to" Y/N sighs, Natasha squeezing her eyes shut, knowing damn well what's it like to have a childhood like that.
"I'm sorry you had to live like that" The redhead says softly, placing her hand on Y/N's and finally making the girl look up and lock eyes with her.
"Had to? You won't send me back to him?" She asks confused.
"No, of course not. I would never send you back to someone who's doing this. I should have let you explain earlier, I'm sorry" Natasha apologizes, rubbing her thumb over Y/N's knuckles.
That's all it takes for Y/N to just jump into Natasha's arms, taking the redhead by surprise. Natasha chuckles, wrapping her arms around Y/N. She will definitely want Bruce to run some DNA tests, but her spy skills say Y/N's telling the truth. Looks like a brand new chapter of her life is starting right now… she's a mom.

The Romanoff-Maximoff family goes on a vacation.
‘Airport Dad’ Natasha x ‘Always forgets’ Wanda
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Featuring, you, their eldest daughter (fem reader this time guys!) and the twins! (not Tommy and Billy I have my own hc👀)
“Tickets?”
“Yes.”
“Are these all the bags?”
“…yes.”
“Passport?”
“Christ, Nat! Can’t you trust your wife a little?”
“Detka, I love you. But you have a memory like Dory.”
Wanda offended, “I do NOT!”
Natasha simply kissed her cheeks and looked down at their 10 year old twin kids. “Are you two excited?” She asked while smiling.
Alianova and Pietro beamed at their mom and simultaneously said “Yeah!!”
It was then Natasha realized, “Detka… Where’s Y/n?” Their 15 year old daughter was not there.
“What are you talking about, honey? She’s right behind me.” Wanda turns around and saw that there was in fact no Y/n. “OH MY GOD-“
*Meanwhile*
Y/n enters the women’s bathroom to check on her mama. “Mama, what’s taking you so long?” No answers from Wanda.
“Mama??” Opens every stall to find it empty. “What the fuck-“
(So the idea is Y/n was supposed to wait for Wanda outside the toilet. Being a teenager she just plays with her phone while leaning against the wall, not paying attention to her surroundings. Wanda having the memory of a dory just up and left to the gate 😭)

When you decided you wanted to follow in the same footsteps as your mothers, they didn't react so well. You always trained with the Avengers, closely watching their next steps for any unforeseen circumstances and how good they were at what they did. And you especially loved seeing Wanda and Natasha fighting, they have been your inspiration since you were little and understand each other.
You remember when you asked your mother Natasha to start going on missions, even if it was the easier ones that would only take a few hours, and you could swear you saw her eyes light up with regret. Not that she didn't trust you, but both Natasha and Wanda knew that any mission would be dangerous and the last thing they wanted was to leave you hurt or for anything bad to happen to you. So, you started to train even more and show how much you dedicated yourself to going on one of these missions and, as your mothers knew you so well, they knew that you wouldn't give up until you went on one of them.
"Fury allowed you to go on this mission with one of us," Natasha was sitting in front of him next to Wanda in the meeting room. You couldn’t hide the smile on your face, your legs shaking because you were so excited for your first mission. "It's an easy mission where you just have to investigate and collect some important information in an old Hydra base." You nod listening to every detail of what you needed to do.
"Fury assured us that there will be no one and no agent, but for your safety you will carry a weapon, okay?" Wanda, your other mother, spoke this time. She also seemed to be a little worried about your first mission since she remembers very well what it's like to be in the hospital bed after one or see anyone else in it. Just imagining you in that position makes her body shiver.
Your mothers start to tell you some information about what you should know and what would happen. Even though the mission was so easy and simple, Wanda decided that it would be better if Natasha accompanied you, since if she went along she might end up getting so nervous that she would faint. And even though you assured that you would be careful, she made you hug her for at least five minutes, stroking your hair and giving you all the comfort you would need for that mission. "I love you so much my love."
"I love you very much too, Mama." You felt Wanda leave a long kiss on your hair as you laid your head on her shoulder. "I promise everything will be fine."
She laughs and takes a deep breath. "I'm the one who should be saying this. But you're right, my love." You separate from her and see that her eyes were full of tears.
Even though it seemed a little dramatic, you knew that Wanda was very close to you. Whenever your mother missed you because you were only away from home for a few hours, you remember when Natasha told you that when it was your first day of school when you were a toddler, Wanda didn't want to let you go at all. And now several years later, she still reacted the same way.
"Alright, we better go before Wanda makes us give up." Natasha says, making her other mother roll her eyes before walking towards her, leaving a long kiss on her lips.
"Ew, not in front of me." You make a disgusted expression at them, even if it was just a joke. You've always admired how much your mothers are in love with each other and how much they show it on a daily basis. Wanda always preferred physical affection to love Natasha, and Romanoff always preferred acts of service to love Maximoff. And even though they were different things, the two never disliked these acts.
"One day it's going to be you, sweetheart." They giggle before hugging each other as they say 'I love you'.
[...]
Your hands sounded as you entered the Hydra base. A gun in hand as you looked in every corner of that place. You felt like something was out of position, but you tried not to worry. Maybe it was just your anxious conscious or maybe you were just too nervous. The noise of your heart was too loud and the only thing you heard was the faint footsteps of your boot on the ground. And even though you tried to focus on what was happening there at the moment, it seemed like now all of your mother Wanda's nervous genes were in you.
"I think I found it, Mom." You speak into the device in your ear, Natasha listening on the other side. She praises you, sending a wave of comfort to your mind that seemed to be trying to sabotage you at that moment.
You quickly place the pen drive in the computer and see the percentage of how much was transferred appear on the screen. You hold the gun tightly in your hands as you scan the place, looking at every possible corner. You walk to your right calmly, trying not to make too much noise in your tall black boots. And when you were about to take the next step, a big tud behind you made you turn around quickly, still with the gun pointed forward. "Mom, I just heard a noise-" And before you could finish speaking, the lights in the place went out completely, the energy going out.
"Y/n- need- leave-!" The device in your ear was getting stuck a lot, loud noises disturbing what little you could hear. Natasha tried to say something, but you almost couldn't hear, leaving you alone with your own thoughts.
With all the training you had you tried to stay as calm as possible. Even if you couldn't see if someone or something was with you, your ears tried to capture any sound coming from that space, but with the device in your ears it was almost impossible. You knew that if you took it off it would be a big risk if your mother ever managed to talk to you again. But it would also be a risk not to hear what was around you.
You debated with what you should do or not do, but it was too late when two large arms grabbed your body from the ground. You let out a startled scream when you realize what is happening. Your reflexes are quick as you forcefully push your elbow into the stomach of the stranger behind you. He staggers back, making you fall to the ground, but before you can do anything, a kick lands in your belly. You hit your head on the ground, making your vision even blurrier. Your gun was still stuck in your hands, so the first thing you do is aim forward and shoot, when you hear a male scream of pain you know you hit him somewhere. "You bitch!"
You don't realize what's happening when he takes a gun out of his pants and also shoots. You scream in pain when the bullet pierces your arm that was holding the gun, it wasn't very deep, but the pain was too horrible. And even if you tried, you couldn't raise your arm to shoot the guy again. You start to crawl backwards trying to get away from the figure that you still couldn't see in the dark and prayed that he couldn't see you too.
But when you started to hear his heavy footsteps towards you, you knew there was nothing left to do.
[...]
Wanda felt her heart stop when she heard the doctors moving around in the Compound. Someone had been hurt on some mission a few hours after you and Natasha left. Maximoff was shaking as she waited for the injured person's Quinjet to pull up, and even though she asked any of the doctors who the unlucky one was, it seemed like she was invisible to them. It seemed like they didn't want to respond to watch her heart break into a million pieces.
Wanda felt so nervous that she thought maybe she was going to faint. Thinking that the extremely injured person, since the doctors were going almost crazy to get everything they needed, could be you or Natasha, made her want to throw up her entire lunch right there. And when the car appeared in their vision, Wanda moved even closer, continuing to give the doctors space to do their work.
When the big door opened, the first thing your mother saw was Natasha with some bruises on her face along with tears that still fell on her pale face. Romanoff held you in her arms. One of them put pressure on your arm to stop the bleeding, but even so, you seemed to be bleeding from other places as a pool of blood was being spilled by Natasha's suit. Your body was unconscious and heavy in your mother's hands, your face completely scarred with cuts and bruises all over it. And even if your mother tried to look at your fragile and small body, she couldn't.
Maximoff lets out a grunt when she sees that you were the current patient. Seeing how Natasha staggered with you in her arms was one of the worst sights she could have had. You being placed on the stretcher while the doctors took you to surgery as quickly as possible was in her nightmares, and now, she could feel firsthand how horrible that was. Natasha follows the crowd of people, finally coming across her wife there. Romanoff didn't wait a second to throw herself into Wanda's arms as the two allowed the tears to fall. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry-"
"Shh- it's not your fault, Natasha." Wanda tried to calm her down, even though it was almost impossible since she also needed comfort. "Y/n is going to be fine, it's okay."
"I- I couldn't get there in time. She was in- in a huge pool of blood and this guy was-" Natasha couldn't finish speaking before her eyes started bursting with tears again as she recalled the scene of you barely conscious on the ground while the Hydra agent kicked you mercilessly. Blood smeared everywhere and your face full of tears was what she saw every time she closed her eyes, it was horrible.
It took Wanda a few minutes to get Natasha to calm down. Despite many other occasions being the opposite, Romanoff has always shown how concerned she is about you. But seeing you and having to carry you almost dead in her arms was another thing entirely, and one that will probably haunt her forever. Natasha had the beginning of a panic attack there, with her blood on her suit and on her hands, but Wanda, knowing her wife, managed to make her feel like she was on the floor again.
A few hours had passed since you entered that operating room, and knowing that it would take a long time for the doctors to stabilize you, Wanda took care of Natasha, cleaning her body and putting her in more comfortable clothes to wait for you sitting in the waiting room. Your mother was able to breathe normally now, even though the tears hadn't stopped falling from both of their faces. Natasha felt her body want to sleep, but her mind wouldn't let her, not when you were fighting for your life in the next room.
Wanda runs her hand affectionately through Natasha's red hair that reminded her of your own. Her head on her shoulder as she felt her wife's body relax but then become rigid again, but even if Maximoff tried, she wouldn't be able to make Natasha relax. "Remember that time Y/n fell down the slide and broke her arm? She didn't even cry." Wanda spoke so softly that any outsider who saw it would think she wasn't as nervous as her wife.
"Yeah... she even asked you to break her arm with your magic so she could put a cast on it again so she could draw on it." Natasha laughs remembering when you were seven years old, you were probably the happiest child in the world.
"She's so strong," Wanda murmurs as she presses a kiss to Natasha's red hair and she closes her eyes taking a deep breath. "I know she'll make it out of this."
And when Maximoff stopped talking, one of the doctors who was participating in your surgery enters the room. Natasha was now more than awake, her body jumping up towards the man in the white coat. Wanda doesn't take long to join her either, rambling questions to the doctor over and over again. "Everything went well in the surgery to remove the bullet from Y/n's body, despite the heavy blood loss." Romanoff holds her wife's hand while listening to him talk about your conditions, squeezing it every time she feels like her heart is going to come out of her mouth. "Unfortunately, due to the severe injuries to her head, she was caused a brain injury called a concussion."
"Oh, God. She's going to be okay, isn't she?"
"Don't worry, Mrs. Maximoff. Concussion is a very common thing for people to experience and usually with a few weeks of medical treatment and rest she will feel well again." The two women were finally able to take a deep breath without feeling that nervousness in their chests. "You just need to pay attention to some symptoms she may have, such as headache, mental confusion, sometimes memory loss, nausea, vomiting, excessive fatigue and some other things that you will probably notice. With the treatment I am sure that Y/n will recover much better.”
Despite all these things you might feel, they were relieved that you were okay. And they knew you would recover quickly, your genes coming from Natasha and Wanda weren't just anyone, you were strong and everyone knew it. And even if they thought that way, nothing would prepare them for seeing you lying on the stretcher. Your body was so fragile and small there, your eyes looked so tired despite being closed and the cuts on your face didn't help. The tubes coming out of your body weren't the prettiest, but it was what was helping you survive at that moment.
"My baby girl..." Wanda stroked your hair as she looked at you now slightly pale face. Her comforting touch would make you lean against her even more if you were awake, but that wouldn't be possible at the moment.
Natasha remained a little distant compared to Maximoff. She was scared, scared that if she made any move you would get hurt again, because in the redhead's mind everything that had happened was her fault. If she had checked to see if the area really was clean, if she had warned you as quickly as possible so you could get out of there, if she had arrived on time. "Nat?" Wanda knew what she was thinking, what she felt was written on the ex-assassin's face, and her wife had been with her for enough years to know what that mind was thinking.
In a few moments, Romanoff's body was enveloped in Wanda's affectionate and comforting embrace, who gently moved from side to side, holding her head against her shoulder while leaving a chaste kiss on her hair. Natasha knew that hug from anywhere, the hug that said everything was okay, that everything would fall into place again. Sometimes it took more than a hug for her to feel that, but sometimes she knew Wanda was right. "I w-want a hug too." Your hoarse voice was present at the scene, making your mothers quickly separate from each other.
"Y/n, my god! You scared me so much, don't ever do that again-"
"Wands, calm down, don't give her any more headaches." You chuckle along with your mother Natasha who was now holding your wife's hand. They walk towards your stretcher seeing that you still seemed to be a little disoriented with everything that happened, but even so you still had a smile on your face for them.
"How are you feeling, my love?" Wanda again made the same affectionate gestures to you as she sat next to you, feeling your body relax at her touch, but this time, you are awake enough to feel it.
"Headache and feeling like I might throw up at any moment."
"Ew." Natasha complains in a funny tone making you want to laugh at that moment, but having a headache would make things even worse. Romanoff still had an apprehensive tone on her face, maybe it was the guilt she felt she had or maybe it was seeing you in that place, with bruises everywhere.
"You aren't hurt, are you, Mom?" Even though you almost died with a gunshot wound to your body and a brain injury, it was obvious that you would care about others, especially if it was one of your mothers.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me, sweetheart." Natasha moved a little closer to you, leaving a kiss on your forehead that was welcomed with a smile on your face. "I was so worried about you." She murmurs as Wanda places one of her hands on her wife's thigh, making small circles on it.
"I'm fine now, Mom. Thanks for going to save me." You put a small smile on your face in a funny way, trying to ease the tension of the hospital room.
"You know I'll always be here for whatever you need." Natasha wasn't just referring to helping you save yourself from physical violence, but she was also referring to helping you when you have any problems. Do you need a shoulder to cry on? She will be there. Do you need help completing a task? Don't worry, you know she won't take a minute to come to you. Problems with girls or guys? She will love telling you how she really knew the love of her life.
In those times when something difficult happened, your mothers knew how to comfort and help you. You had an unbreakable bond and that always warmed your heart. Realizing that you had people who more than cared about you by your side was incredible. Maybe for some other people it was strange to have two mothers, but you didn't care, because for you, it was an indescribable magic.

You raced after your target as fast as your feet would carry you. The young girl reminded you of yourself when you’d first been brought to Hydra. She fought hard and was determined to get away from you, but it wasn’t long before you’d cornered her in an alleyway with a dead end.
Her cries for help made your ears ring, and you would have given anything for her to just shut up. You could feel guilt weighing heavily on your chest. It was crushing. You were about to confine this little girl to a life of misery, just like your own.
Your body felt like it was on fire, every instinct you had was telling you to turn around and leave her there, to let her go, but you didn’t. You couldn’t. You pointed your gun at her as you dialed a number on a burner phone, giving the person on the other end your location.
The poor girl cried with all her might, tears streaming down her face. You felt like you were going to be sick. You wished she’d been able to get away from you somehow.
She shrank back until she was against the fence behind her just when you felt a hand on your arm. You kept the gun pointed at her steadily as you took a quick glance over your shoulder.
“You’ve done it again, great work.”
You woke from your nap with a start when you heard a beeping sound. Your chest was heaving. You looked around to check your surroundings and your breath started to even out upon realizing you were safe on the living room couch and your moms were in the kitchen making dinner. The microwave had just gone off.
“Hey, sleepyhead,” Natasha came over when she saw that you’d sat up and were awake, running her fingers through your hair tenderly. “You knocked out at the end of the movie. How was your nap?”
“It was okay,” you nodded, avoiding her gaze. “I’m going to wash up before we eat.”
You needed to clear your head before you sat with them for dinner. There was no way they wouldn’t be able to tell something was up and the last thing you wanted to do was to put your problems on them.
Upon locking the door to the bathroom, your eyes began to tear up. You groaned quietly and pressed the heels of your hands to your shut eyes, willing yourself not to cry. You did your best to steady your breathing and stay quiet, but it wasn’t long before you were choking back sobs while sitting on the cold tile floor.
Your dreams were often plagued by the haunting memories of your past, being controlled by Hydra since your early childhood. You were horrified by what you were capable of. It pained you to think that you had subjected kids to being tormented and ruined their lives. They hadn’t done anything to deserve that. And it was often difficult to convince yourself that you deserved to live in the loving household that you now did, because how could you when many of the kids you’d been assigned to capture probably still worked for Hydra?
Your eyes shot open when you heard a quiet knock on the door. You bit down on one of your knuckles, trying to stifle the sob threatening to leave your throat.
“You alright, kiddo?” Maria’s voice sounded.
You didn’t say anything out of fear of embarrassing yourself, afraid of whatever noise would come out.
“Can I come in?”
She took the sound of the door unlocking as a ‘yes’ and opened it slowly, sitting down beside you.
“What’s wrong, hm?” she murmured, putting her strong arm around your shoulders.
You turned into her embrace, wrapping your arms around her waist as tightly as you could while your body racked with sobs.
Maria held you close and pressed a kiss to the top of your head, “I’m right here, sweetheart.”
Natasha’s footsteps went unheard but she made herself known when she put a gentle hand on your back, doing her best to help soothe you.
Your tears fell freely, but the presence of your mothers was beginning to make you feel better. You were getting ahold of your breathing, matching yours to Maria’s.
Once you were calmer, you moved yourself to sit up with your back to the wall and Natasha was now in front of you, tutting when she saw your tear-stained face and your nose red from crying, “What’s got you so upset, honey?” she asked as she leaned forward to wipe your tears away with her thumbs.
You took a couple of breaths before attempting to respond to her, and while you did so, you realized not many people would be able to understand your feelings the way she might.
“How did… how did you forgive yourself?” Your voice broke as you spoke, fresh tears beginning to fall. “After everything I’ve done,” you shook your head. “I don’t deserve - I can’t - I’m a monster -”
“No, hey,” Natasha took your hand in hers before speaking softly, “You’re working yourself up again. Please don’t talk like that.”
You put your head down and pinched the bridge of your nose as Natasha sat in shock for a couple of seconds, surprised by your question.
It wasn’t often that the Black Widow cried, but as she saw you in your distress, reminding her so much of herself, she couldn’t help it when her eyes started watering.
She looked to her wife for a moment, and when their eyes met, it was clear they were thinking the same thing. Maria could not count the number of times she’d heard Natasha describe herself as a monster.
There were many nights Maria had held Natasha as she cried, feeling like she could never make up for everything she had done. She still felt that way sometimes. Like nothing could be enough for all the lives she’d taken or destroyed.
But you? You might be enough. Natasha felt more sure of that every day. The love she had for you consumed her. It came with an innate need to protect you. Getting to love you felt like healing from her past, something she once never thought she’d feel.
You had a long emotional journey ahead of you in order to come to terms with the reality, which was that you were a victim of circumstance, just like Natasha was. Neither of you asked for the hand of cards you were dealt, but you had to play them.
“Why don’t we go to the couch and talk about this there? Let’s get you off the floor,” the redhead suggested, helping you up.
As you made your way to the couch with Natasha, Maria went to the fridge and brought you water, which you took gratefully.
You sat between your mothers, busying yourself by fidgeting with the edges of the blanket, not feeling too inclined to look at them while you felt so vulnerable, preparing yourself to start speaking. “I have a lot of dreams about my time being controlled by Hydra, some can be really bad.”
Your mind raced as you mulled over how much you were going to tell them. You hadn’t spoken very much about what happened to you while you were being controlled by Hydra. You figured they knew enough from reading your file and Natasha being there when you were taken into custody by SHIELD.
Still, there was a lot you didn’t want them to know. You were ashamed of yourself and terrified that they may not look at you the same way after they knew what you’d decided to tell them.
“I was mostly assigned to kidnappings for Hydra,” A lump grew in your throat as you spoke. “I was having a nightmare about this one girl named Marcy, she was the youngest target I ever had. She was also the last.” You could feel the anxiety you were having in every part of your body. You weren’t sure what you expected them to say but the longer they said nothing the more anxious you became.
“You aren’t going to start forgiving yourself until you’re able to acknowledge that what happened was not all your fault,” Natasha finally said, which made your brow furrow.
When you didn’t say anything, she continued, “You know you didn’t do any of the things you did because of your own volition. Hydra was using a formula very similar to the one the Red Room utilized. You weren’t able to make any decisions yourself. Until you’re able to let up on yourself and come to accept this, you won't be forgiving yourself anytime soon.”
You stayed silent for a couple of seconds before nodding, “I’ve never not blamed myself.”
Natasha offered a soft smile, “I know how that feels. It took me a very long time to get to where I am now. And a lot of help from Maria.”
“And you have both of us every step of the way,” Maria chimed in.
Your eyes watered as the corners of your lips turned up, “Thank you. I love you guys so much.”
Natasha pulled you in for a hug and it seemed like she needed it almost as much as you did, “We love you too. More than you know.”
When you pulled away you turned and hugged Maria, “Thanks for finding me.”
The brunette shrugged with a soft smile, “Of course. But next time why don’t you let us know when something’s bothering you? You scared us there.”
“I’ll try my best. I’m still getting used to the whole asking for help thing. I’m sorry.”
“Ehh, that’s alright. We both know what it’s like to be a little emotionally stunted,” Maria snickered.
Natasha rolled her eyes and playfully kicked Maria’s shin, pretending to be annoyed by her comment as you laughed.
Everything was going to be okay.
