I guess my phone number must be linked to the account because my mom found one of my Instagram accounts when she made a new Instagram for selling things. 🥲 The account she followed clearly states that I’m not cisgender which I haven’t told anyone in my family about. I blocked her account but she could’ve easily looked up stuff to see what it meant beforehand. I haven’t told her because she’s made weird comments before when I wear “men’s” clothing & sometimes gets really mad when I correct her on someone’s pronouns. Why would I feel comfortable telling her anything when she’s that way?

My sister, for her birthday, only asked that she be able to go see her boyfriend, who is in college in Delaware. She just got back today. And, the second she and my mom get back from the airport, my mom's in the kitchen telling me and my other sister about how "the blacks" and "the Mexicans" (which is what she says to mean any brown person who isn't Asian) might as well be a different species - in front of my youngest sister, who just got back from spending a week with her Afro-Caribbean boyfriend and his family.... So now she's crying (understandable) because she thinks our mom hates her boyfriend for being black (she does) and I'm having to try to calm her down. Her boyfriend is also helping, because they do that young people thing where they're always on FaceTime with one another. My mom is acting like the victim in this situation, and eventually screamed that she doesn't understand why none of us love her before locking herself in her room and more than likely taking about a week's worth of trazodone.

On the plus side, my sister loves her boyfriend's family and said they all loved her, so she'll hopefully have a place to go once she's 18 and leaves my mom in the past like me and my other sister want to. This dude treats my baby sister right, and that's all I give a shit about. That his skin color and heritage matter to my mom at all is just another indication of how shit she is as a person, that some immutable factor of someone's being is more important to her than this kid treats my sister like she's a person.
