every single day i think about the influence touya would have had on shouto as an older brother.

he has to take him everywhere he goes, so they're always jamming to the same hardcore music in touya's shitty car. shouto, obviously, develops a taste for the same bands, same songs. shouto is also in the ride-along to buy cigarettes and beer at midnight, and touya threatens his whole entire life if he tells rei, but shouto would never because he likes going too much.

shouto 100% would attempt to kick the ass of anyone that talked shit to his brother. little string bean, doesn't matter, this little boy is throwing HANDS for touya, and touya very much has the attitude of "no one can fuck with my little brother but me". whenever shouto gets in trouble for doing something he shouldn't be doing, touya is always taking the fall for him, no questions asked. shouto lies for touya like it's second nature.

shouto wants an earring because of touya, and touya probably GIVES the piercing to him, which makes enji blow a gasket. touya learns to play the drums and then shouto wants to, too — though he ends up being better than touya and touya promptly quits after that. touya teaches him to drive. shouto gets drunk for the first time with touya BECAUSE touya wants to be there to take care of him. they hate each other, they get into fist fights all the time, rolling around the house as fuyumi screams at both of them. they're best friends. they understand each other more than anyone else ever could.

“Your boyfriend is here.”

Your ears immediately perked up when the nurse informed you. The hand that was holding the ice pack on your head fell on your lap. Your eyes searched for him and there he stood, in his lfc hoodie a red bull cap on his head wearing a worried look on his face.

“Baby.” he whispered, rushing towards to where you’re sitting on top of the bed and settling between your thighs.

“Hey.” you said, winching a bit when you try to move your head and hug him.

Trent rested his hand on your arm, holding you in place “Hey, slow down, it’s okay.” he immediately took the ice pack from your hand and placing it back on your forehead where a bruise is already forming. “What happened?” he asked, hand protectively setting on your hip.

“I fell and hit my head a little.” you shrugged, a little laugh escaping your lips. “I wanted to grab those fancy plates at the upper shelf because you’re mom is coming this weekend. It was a little funny cause I knew that I was gonna fell but then I wanted to defy gravity like all those characters in movies so-“

Trent let out a deep breath and shook his head, “Baby.” an adoring smile tugging up on his lips. “You should really be more careful. You’re lucky it’s not serious.” he scolded, pinching your nose, making you scrunch up your face.

He lifted the ice pack on your forehead and his smile quickly dropped when he peaked at your bruise. You look up at him, eyes softening when you saw how worried he was.

“It’s not even that bad.” you mumbled as a pout formed on your lips. Guilt washing over you when you realised he rushed from a long match. “Sorry I made you rush here. You must be exhausted.”

“It’s okay babe.” he said, his unoccupied hand moving to cup your face, before leaving a peck in your nose. “Just glad you’re okay.”

You hummed, body relaxing in his hold. A sudden thought cross your mind and you can’t help but let it out, “Did you shower?”

Trent already know where you’re going with this, “Nah, it’s okay though. I prefer showering at home.”

“No wonder you stink.” There it is.

“Hey!” he playfully scoffed, “Is this what I get for being your knight and shining armour?”

You giggled at his dramatic attitude, the sound pulling on Trent’s heartstrings. “I love you though.”

“Love you too.” he whispered.

“Stinky boy.” you added, making Trent roll his eyes.

“I’m leaving.”

“Wait, I’m joking!”

I personally think that basing your interpretation of how Ursa treated Azula on Zuko’s memories shown in ‘Zuko Alone’ is kind… incorrect. You can obviously — they’re the only real images of their childhood we get in the cartoon, other than the tiniest of snapshots in sepia — and that’s fine, but for me personally I just don’t think they’re complete enough.

These memories are from Zuko’s perspective. Not Ursa’s, not Azula’s, not Ozai’s or Iroh’s—Zuko’s perspective, his memories. And they’re all about him and Ursa together: every one of these memories have Ursa at their centre. We see her protect him and be kind to him, see her be physically affectionate and gentle, see her encourage him to be kind to himself and to Azula.

They essentially tell us that Zuko is Ursa’s son first, Ozai’s son second. Ozai remains a hovering, intimidating shadow on the sidelines (we still don’t see his face, we don’t see him genuinely interact with his children, and we see him irritating his father while being a very hands-off kinda dad himself) but Ursa is fully present. And ‘Zuko Alone’ is about Zuko trying to figure out who he is: the memories show that he views being his mother’s son as an exceptionally important part of his identity, which means they are about Zuko and his relationship with Ursa alone.

They are not supposed to tell us that Ursa neglected or abused Azula emotionally—that she only focused on protecting Zuko, while leaving Azula to suffer in Ozai’s incapable hands. Sure, we see Ursa scold Zuko for acting like Azula and cuddle him right after, and we see her scold Azula for acting mean and not cuddle her right after, but the key differences here are that Zuko shows guilt after frightening the turtleducks and Azula doubles down on trying to scare Zuko. The behaviour is different and will be, by any halfway decent parent, treated differently. 

I’m absolutely not saying that Azula wasn’t abused, because she 100% was. She was absolutely abused by Ozai, and I’m not ruling out that Ursa didn’t have a hand in how Azula ultimately turned out. But my point here is: these memories are far too limited and narrow for the viewer to properly determine whether Azula was treated incorrectly by Ursa. 

Zuko isn’t going to remember an intimate, lovely moment between Ursa and Azula when all that’s on his mind is his identity, and how it’s entangled with his mother and what she may have sacrificed for him. Additionally, he’s not particularly fond of Azula at this moment in the show (she did kind of kickstart his being a refugee, disregarding how the audience sees this sequence of events having begun), so he’s not going to remember her fondly either. Why would Zuko try to remember Ursa’s relationship with Azula at that point, instead of his own?

(Small tidbit: we also... don't know if Ursa's last words to Azula were 'what is wrong with that child', disregarding the comics which completely ruin azula anyway. Again, the memories are from Zuko's perspective and therefore won't show any private moments between Ursa and Azula. We're not even certain whether Azulon actually ordered Ozai to kill Zuko, or if that is simply what Azula interpreted it as/thought would be funny to say--causing the sequence of events that ultimately put Ozai on the throne. But whatever)

I’ve posted some panels or pieces of these but never the entire sequence on here I don’t think, so but this is one of the only substantial things I’d say I’ve kept in a vault.

I feel like compared to my newer stuff these look super rough, but they were really good practice.

These have pesterlogs that go with them but this post is already huge so eh. This was set to occur a couple hours after Caliborn’s masterpiece, so Roxy and Dirk are talking about Halquius’s heroic sacrifice/death. Davepeta and Dirk continue that line of conversation, while Roxy is pulled into an argument about self control as I bum everyone out by reminding them that Jasprose never actual stopped being an alcoholic.

Prisma is really such a fair ruler. It makes me think about just how much she'd hate slavery of any kind. I wonder how she'd react if she was exposed to it in any way. The only thing that came to mind was what Susie did to Meta Knight. Not only did she certainly force him to do her bidding, she also took away his ability to resist. Not to mention it happened to her friend. How would Prisma have reacted to the whole Mecha Knight ordeal?

Yeah, she does strive to do her best as a queen <3 Prisma loves her subjects and is as fair to them as she can be. She isn't a perfect ruler or anything, (especially considering she has little to no prior experience as a figure of authority) but her subjects very much respect her.

As for the whole Robobot thing, if she had been there to see it, it definitely would have distressed her. Not just purely based on Mecha Knight (though that would hurt a soft spot in her since they are friends) but she thinks the whole mechanization of everything and taking natural resources from a planet that needs it is not a good idea. Seeing her friend get mechanized would absolutely hurt, but seeing the same thing happen to so many other innocent people would hurt her as well.

She just is not a very power-focused person in general, so when others use their power over others it rubs her the wrong way. She has the same criticism for Meta Knight when he tried to take over Dreamland by force lol

At least they are sorry about the incidents they caused and are doing their best to rectify it. She respects that a lot.
