It’s understandable Mother’s Day can be difficult for those who are grieving their mother figure, or child. What we often forget is that the days leading up to it can be difficult too I have felt increasingly demotivated, a lack of enthusiasm and normal tasks have felt harder to do in the past few days It was only through a conversation (It is good to talk), that I clicked, it was most likely because Mothers Day was approaching I had (or my thoughtful ones) have arranged for my Mothers Day to be busy and to feel loved. I was convinced that everything was under control and that I was prepared I forgot that the days approaching can be difficult too. Once I acknowledged that, I cancelled some work and gave myself some compassion and time out. I hadn’t realised how overwhelming everything was getting. Even just recognising why I was feeling the way I was, helped me feel less overwhelmed. The pressure immediately lowered to a manageable amount. I was able to think more clearly about my needs and find solutions Accepting I was feeling this way and that it is a normal part of grief also helped. Often we criticise ourselves for things we would ordinarily give compassion for to others Allowing these feelings of loss, whilst also giving myself permission to enjoy the love I will receive on Mothering Sunday, will help me move through the feelings, rather than becoming stuck Anyone else found the last few days difficult? Self doubt is so loud. I miss your encouraging words and confidence in me. I would always act like it was such a nuisance when you would 'brag' about your kids and the things we have done. That was a lie. Making you proud still motivates me to this day. It's just not the same. Asking others for the words that you would gladly give without prompting feels fake. Miss you. Love you.

XV hurt her eye. I wasn't as scared as I feel I should have been. I went right into mom mode and scooped her up, went to the bathroom, started barking orders to dad and bro freaking out. She was a champ. I think she was more upset about everyone else upset. I know you would have loved her. Do love her as heaven allows. I hate remembering that she never met you. That you finally have a granddaughter but never knew. And the injustice of that. Miss you lots today.
