Little Val is such a cutie with his chubby cheeks and Seb is worried Val has a fever and brings him to Jenson whose happy to see the little omega and otter pup. Val keeps chirping and trying to play with Jenson, and Jenson chuckles and gives up and blows raspberries and he squeals loudly and tries to hide in Jenson's shirt and it's just so cute and Sebastian melts right then and there seeing how safe Val feels with Jenson

Seb being worried about Val cos cheeks are a little red and he is slightly warm to touch so he takes him in to see doctor Jenson! Little pup excited because he is going on a little trip with momma, just Val and momma!

Val beinga little confused at the doctor practise but jenson is nice and makes him giggle! Val chirping and trying to play, patting at Jenson's cheeks and grabbing his fingers and squealing so loud when Jenson flows a raspberry on his tummy!

Jenson letting the pup listen to his heart with the stethoscope, before smiling as the pup tries to snuggle closer on instinct cos part of why he loves tummy time cuddles is because he has a solid heart best under him, and listening with the stethoscope makes him want cuddles!

Seb smiling as a slightly flustered jenson now has a little otter nosing into him ksks. Jenson reassuring Seb thst Val is fine, the red cheeks are just because he is so excited and happy and he says otter pups do tend to run a slightly higher temp! Meanwhile Seb is just so soft for the doctor, first helping him get his tiny little joey lando, being patient with all the pups and even getting sweet little Val to adore him!

Lookism at the Zoo

Time for some nonsense (I miss the slice of life days and I have too much time on my hands)

Daniel: he's just happy to be here. We've already seen him at Notte World. Another school trip? With friends? Cute animals? Fun memories? SO EXCITED !!!!

Jay: whereever Daniel goes, he goes. Any part of the zoo is his fave when he gets to look around with Daniel. Makes the group take a lot of pics of both of them for the memories. Considering hiring out the zoo so him and Daniel can go alone another time

Zoe: also tags along with Daniel and Jay but feels like a third wheel. If only little Daniel was here... Daydreaming about being with little Daniel then getting angry and flustered with herself

Joy: competing with her bro for Daniel's attention. Tries to wander off with just him on their own but no chance with Jay and Zoe around

Crystal: gives some structure to the Daniel harem. She's excited to look around, and actually gives the group some direction on where to go

Mira: loves any cute animals. Not a fan of reptiles, creepy crawlies or amphibians and stays clear. Fluffy? Yes they're for her. Definitely not interested in feeding time!

Zack: who cares about the zoo as long as Mira is here. Trails after her and treats this as another 'date' (even if they hang around in a group most of the time). Tries to get Mira to walk through the bat cave hoping that she'll cling to him lol

Vasco: Any and all parts of the zoo is his fave! Bears YEP. Tigers YEP. Some random birds YEP. Wait holD ON KANGAROOS!?!?OMG JACE LETS CLIMB IN THE ENCLOS-

Jace: he's happy Vasco is happy, but honestly a bit of a headache keeping him safe. Gets dragged along by Vasco to get his face painted. Loves elephants. Intelligent, herd animals with big ears 🥰

Eli: misses Yenna, would much rather spend time at the Zoo with his little baby. Already planning a trip out with her to see all the animals soon

Vin Jin: glasses too dark, no idea what he's looking at

Mary: Vin's reluctant guide. She wants to look around everywhere but that idiot has tinted his glasses AGAIN. God she really can't take him anywhere. Has a soft spot for elephants

Johan: this poor little guy. He likes seeking out animals with a social structure that looks after each other (he just so lonely and misses his momma). Elephants, orangutans, chimps. Watching otters hold hands makes him sad 🥺 Misses Miro and Eden. Gives them extra snuggles and treats

Big Deal: ok first why are they at the zoo, second how can they afford it, third this is my headcannon so Sammy is included

Sinu: wandering around like Vasco 2.0. He doesn't remember ever feeling like a kid or not worrying about Big Deal, so this is a big day for him. Cries on Jake at the end of the day

Jake: happy to be wandering around without having too many worries for the day. That's for tomorrow Jake to worry about. Finally gets to spend some time with Sinu and Big Deal just like the old days. Teaches Jerry about the different animals and reads the signs and placards with him

Samuel: kicked out for smoking

Gun: doesn't care for the zoo. Full on safari or nothing. Wants to see them out in the wild and survival of the fittest. Ideally wants to see an apex predator hunt for their prey

Goo: same as Gun but loves killer whales. Insanely strong and sadistic, wonder why he likes them... Otherwise he likes dragging Gun to the camels and trying to get him spat on

Paldea League explanation time

Might as well go into an explanation ramble about my picks for the Paldean league here! I did on AO3 but gonna mostly crosspost this here cause I feel like it.

Katy - grizzly bear This is a pretty obvious one. Considering she has a bug tera Teddiursa/Ursaring (because bears are often depicted as honey lovers in media), it makes sense why I'd make her a bear. Katy's also like a sweet momma bear in terms of her personality (not unlike another trainer here in Paldea, who is also a momma bear in terms of her personality, but more formidable, in this AU).

Brassius - serval I was just gonna make him an ocelot (because jungle cat) when he was first revealed in the trailer, but I kinda eventually wanted to make him part serval too, because servals have cute ears that I wanted to draw. Then I didn't really think he looked like a ocelot anymore, so I just made him a regular serval (yes, I'm aware servals are from the savannah, not the jungle/rainforest). He also jumped down from a windmill on his feet, hence the saying a cat always lands on its feet.

Iono - ragamuffin calico cat Iono just screams "cat girl" energy to me. Originally drew her as a pale orange and white cat, but I hated the design I did. So I went with a dilute calico to match her two toned hair, with one side of her fur being gray and the other half being pale orange. I also realized I unintentionally made a pun on cation.

Kofu - walrus Was gonna make him a hybrid between a walrus and a sea otter but last second, I just made him a walrus because the ears looked weird. I kinda went a bit half baked on the thought process of this, but I think he'd be a jolly old walrus, even if walruses are pretty territorial in real life. Also, first time I've drawn a walrus.

Larry - gray wolf Furry analysis thing. Wolves are like one of the most (if not the most) common species for a fursona. Larry may be a basic salaryman, but we all love him for that. Gave Larry some rather basic markings (gray fur, light gray markings on the snout, limbs, stomach and ear insides, and a black tipped tail; I know adult wolves don't have blue eyes but it's not uncommon to see wolf fursonas with blue eyes) for an average wolf to go with his theme. Larry's also almost always hungry, so I could say he's hungry like a wolf. Another point I initially forgot to add is that Larry's really popular among Pokemon fans, reminds me of how the furry fandom just goes bonkers whenever the media releases a new wolf character (*looks over at Legoshi, Mr. Wolf, and Death*).

Ryme - red fox So, this is a slight headcanon-ish thing that I've "dropped"/"forgotten about". Fox Ryme still works, cause she has a Houndstone, the fox and the Houndstone. I just think she'd be a fox, it just comes naturally to me (the urge to add a fox every time).

Tulip - leopard Okay so this is a questionable one. When I first saw Tulip's design, she instantly reminded me of Clawroline from Kirby and the Forgotten Land and I can't really shake that off, which is the reason why she looks like Clawroline in my AU. Also, the area around Alfornada is kinda like a savannah, and Tulip does have an Espartha on her team, which is technically an ostrich, another savannah animal.

Grusha - siberian husky Again, a pretty obvious one. All the ice type specialists (that I know of) in this Pokemon AU are all animals that originate from/inhabit places from, yet it took me this long to make an ice type specialist a husky in my AU. Also, those icy blue eyes of his are too hard to pass for a husky.

Rika - egyptian mau/sand cat mix This was a neat design to do. This design was pulled out randomly because I do have this headcanon that she's Falkner's older cousin (Falkner in this AU is an egyptian mau cat). She's also part sand cat to tie in with her being a ground type specialist. She mostly just looks your average spotted tabby though.

Poppy - raccoon When I saw her, I was instantly like "OMG, she's so adorable, she's my favourite character in this game" (no matter what everyone else says). Raccoons are my second favourite animal, but I didn't really think Poppy's design would translate well into a fox, so I went with a raccoon instantly because of her silver clothing and black hair gave off raccoon fur vibes. Raccoons allegedly like shiny objects, and Poppy has a giant key around her neck, so a perfect match. I could really just go on about this design choice, but I'd rather not make it too long or too deep. I didn't initially notice this at first but I found out that Poppy's giant key is actually a purse that she stores candy in, raccoons for sure have a sweet tooth as well.

Hassel - st bernard/golden retriever mix His hair colour reminds of a golden retriever but his face kinda reminds me of a st bernard. I'd definitely imagine a happy Hassel to be a blubbering and slobbering dog (st bernards drool a lot) in my AU, and I'd say both breeds would match him nicely.

Geeta - bobtail tortoiseshell cat I was gonna make her a bombay (black) cat initially, but I chose a tortoiseshell last minute, I'm not sure why, probably just to try and match her design more, I don't know to be honest. I eventually thought of the bobtail since I like the idea of Iono, Rika and Geeta being the three cats of the Paldea league (cause Brassius and Tulip aren't domestic cats), and them having a different vibe to them, with Iono being fluffy with a bushy tail, Rika being sleeker with a sleek tail, and Geeta kinda being inbetween with a cute little bobtail.

i've been thinking a lot about what jess's favorite animal is lately for some reason and lets be real she was very dolphin coded when she was younger. but it's hard for her because all animals are friend-shaped. she loves a lot of the classic cutesy animals on gifts like elephants, giraffes, and foxes.

but ultimately her favorite is either a seal or an otter. and she definitely looks at pictures of otters holding hands and momma otters keeping their babies dry above water when they're sleeping to feel better.

😭😭😭 chunky little Val who is just rolls and chirps and Sebastian dies each time when Val smiles but having little lando and Val next to each other makes Seb want another one. Val who just loves chirping at Jensen and Jensen trying to be serious at work but can’t when he’s got this chirping otter following him around. Kimi who tries to be stern at work but has little Joey lando on his chest and the little Joey pokes his head up and is all curls

Plss Val is the cutest little toddler! So chowny and round, always smiling and purring and chirping at momma and the papas (ofc papa Kimi mostly!). Even if Seb has a shit day, Val makes him smile always cos he is just like a tiny little toddler shaped teddy bear!

And plss Jenson trying to work but some of the pups are there for check up and this little otter is toddling after papa jense and chirping at him happily and then being so so excit3f when Jenson lifts him up for snuggles!

And pls sksks Kimi being on lando duty but he needs to go to the office to fill in paperwork for a case and he does thst with the tiny joey snoozing on his chest! Maybe Mika and Nico come to talk to him and this tiny curly haired head with soft grey ears pokes out curiously 😭😭
