Ive mentioned before how Mono has an.... we'll say, interesting relationship with food things. He's food descriptions are about as concise as his table manners - a grain thing, a meat thing, some sort of paste. Sweet goo, stuff like that.

If the Thin Man gave him a warm muffin, his first instinct would be 'hug', because it's warm and soft, and who wouldn't hug a toasty, warm thing?

ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶦˢ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵃᵐᵉ ˡᵃᵈ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᶜˡᶦᵐᵇᵉᵈ ᶦⁿᵗᵒ ᵃ ᵐᵘᵍ ᵇʳᵒʷⁿᶦᵉ [here]

And he pretty much shovels everything into his mouth as quickly as he can, since he might have to bolt in the next second. There's no telling if he'll get the chance to eat again. The whole 'meal time' for kids is always chaotic.

Then there's the whole process of food 'concoctions', such as grain things and pasta bits - this is all hard stuff. But Mono has learned at last if you put this stuff into something like fluids (or random liquid condiments when rain isn't available), it will soften enough he can slurp it up.

Everything is pretty much repulsive, but as long as its edible and safe to consume, and doesn't kill him, it's all good.
