I want to be besties with an incubus or succubus or both tbh
Roommates actually
Because the peak comedy would be two hypersexual creatures becoming besties with the local asexual
Sitting on the couch watching TV casually and Incubus comes bursting in through the front door lip locked with the newest stranger. You throw a pillow at the pair as they stumble away and get to spill to the succubus that the incubus has someone over and watch him get all pissy because they were supposed to go hunting together later!
So you get all the drama and tea for free by watching some human who wanders away later looking like a nervous lamb as the two most hypersexual creatures you know argue about meal rights and get petty about it
They're both hella respectful as well, as any good creature is. So boundaries are established in the beginning. You know what they are, they know what you are. They'll either be gone late a lot or bring people home. Rules of when people can be brought over are set up, as well as some off limit things.
They know if you're fine with pretend flirting or not, and act accordingly (though regardless of relationship you're getting called every nickname under the sun) but the pair are also very protective over you because you're their human and any advances made towards you, especially by their evening meals end with that person kicked out right then and there.
Idk I just think it would be a hilarious dynamic, think of the chaos
But I'm also projecting as an asexual who's favorite characters tend to be the overly flamboyant and hypersexual ones ironically enough
Which monsters would have the cutest interaction with kids? I love the thought of a grumpy orc, dragon or naga that gets all soft with kids around them
[Bouncing-with-endless-joy], [The-cool-embrace-of-perfect-twilight], and [Quilted-with-the-wisdom-of-arts-long-practiced] are the Sector Demigods of the city's three Residential Sectors.
Of all the Mighty Children they are the most consistently approachable. While they are no more capable of expressing themselves through language than any other Mighty Child, they can be found socially interacting with people throughout their sectors. Bouncing Joy is the most physical, constantly hugging and encouraging young Tsan Chan citizens to play. Cool Embrace is more reserved, preferring to act as a quiet confidant and empathetic listener. Quilted Wisdom enjoys joining in on projects and activities of a more artistic bent. Countless murals and hangings across the city have been aided by Quilted Wisdom.
The three don't stay in their own dedicated Sectors and wander not only each other's but all the Sectors that have citizens living there. Cool Embrace in particular sometimes walks through the Yellow Sector to visit Cassilda on her isolated island home.

They all give good hugs. Bouncing Joy is like hugging a gigantic, firm koosh ball. Cool Embrace is like if the cold side of the pillow could hug you back. Quilted Wisdom will turn you into a blanket burrito.
Ancient monsters imbodying human form are peak humor for illness to me. They're perceive as so wise and intelligent but the bastards tripping over themselves carrying remedies from all manners of centuries "IS IT THE BLACK DEATH??? DID THE PLAUGES RETURN TO YOU BELOVED?!? ARE YOU DYING ARE YO-" they trip over themselves before continuing "ILL KILL WHATEVER THIS IS BEFORE IT CAN T H I N K OF LAYING HAND NOR HIDE UPON YOURSELF!!!"and your just dying of laughter this whole time trying not to cough which prompts another round of concerned strained panic from your partner and the cycles continues
Omg yes!
Either they haven't caught up with the recent medicines/illness list or they forget what Earth year it is. They're just absolutely feral woth worry because the last time they visited the plagues were wiping out entire cities.
But imagine their skill in cooking tho! I just had a need for some really nice hot soup and these guys have been around for eons. So once you've calmed them down and explained you're not dying just really sick, they cook you up THE BEST soup and warm foods to help with your headaches and aching body.

Summary: Regis meets Cahir on the doorsteps to Kaer Morhen just before the rain starts pouring down.
"Oh dear, you look like shit, my boy. And you smell like an entire distillery. A pretty awful one, too." The grey-haired man scrunches up his nose.
"And who exactly are you, if I may ask?" Cahir inquires suspiciously, not a little surprised at finding a stranger standing in front of the entrance to the secret Witcher keep. A stranger without a mount who he has never seen before, or rather, who he does not remember having seen before. Which does not count for much, really. Oddly enough, the man's peculiar scent seems somewhat familiar. Is that aniseed? And loads of other herbs and spices. How very weird.

I needed a more open space to talk about the shape of water (2017) so here I am!
I just watched it for the first time tonight and, not even the slightest exaggeration here, I cried during the last half an hour and continued to sob for the next two hours after the film had finished...and I mean properly sobbing. del toro has always made me feel welcomed; as a kid, I adored hellboy, and now as an adult I’ve found a more mature sense of welcoming through the shape of water - a more mature type of love and warmth compared to the sparkly eyed gaze I held as a kid towards hellboy.
the love in this film runs true and deep, like the depths of unexplored ocean territory. I think the one thing that del toro understands best about monsters in film (in this particular way) is that the focal point of the story doesn’t necessarily need to run along the lines of ‘appearance doesn’t matter, it’s what inside that counts.’ to him, it’s a showcase of protection, affection and understanding. there’s so many beautiful moments of just complete understanding and thinking with care and caution, it was overwhelming at times. for example, in the prominent bathroom scene as giles opens the door to let the water flood out - the way he just slowly closes the door after watching them both embrace each other skin to scales; a drawing of that sight appearing on his worktop later on. I felt like my heart was going to burst. I still worry it might by thinking about it. I’m not sure how to further describe the point I want to make here so I hope these quotes below, when paired with my previous context, can create a better picture:
“now, whatever this thing is, you need it. so, you just tell me what to do.” (giles)
“I’m okay — he’s a wild creature. we can't ask him to be anything else.” (giles)
“shut up! [...] you wouldn’t understand. you couldn’t understand, not if you tried your whole life.” (zelda)
I think I feel extra strongly for this storyline because I see myself in elisa in my own specific ways. the scene where she tries to make giles understand how important saving this creature’s life would be hit a little too hard. to find someone, or something, that can surround me in comfort like that - the thought itself is breathtaking and overly difficult to imagine ever happening. their connection is gentle, no words ever spoken but, at the same time, all the right words are indirectly spoken.
“when he looks at me, the way he looks at me...he does not know what I lack or how I am incomplete. he sees me for what I am, as I am. he’s happy to see me. every time. every day.”
I simply can’t enough of how safe and calm this film is to me. despite the distress of the time period and the lab situation, the love they share is most tender and something I want to immerse myself in completely for as long as possible. love is the greatest warrior and I wouldn’t usually be the type to say things like that I admit my past has made me an inescapable pessimist but this has struck a chord in my heart and soul.
“the only thing that comes to mind is a poem, whispered by someone in love hundreds of years ago. unable to perceive the shape of you, I find you all around me. your presence fills my eyes with your love. it humbles my heart, for you are everywhere.”
(Karra was gonna kill max but friendship is strong and he helped her find queen solaria's sword wand after it fell off a cliff and the queen made her lady-Karra and now she is a-knight-apprentice of her big brother and his-knight-friends)
