I decided to give her a more icey look, forgoing the standard black streaks for white, I also wanted to show off her adorable widows peak!

I only have one more doll to reroot and then I'm DONE! For now at least, till the next inevitable polypropylene headed dolls from Monster High come out.

OOAK Dolls, Jules (Pink) and Shimmer (Green)

I mentioned a while ago I wanted to share my dolls, so here’s a couple to start off with! Namely because they’re the only ones with clothes lol. I’m also very very new to doll customising, so I’m keeping things simple for now.

I do intend on selling them on Etsy eventually, once their clothing is of selling quality. I’m sticking to just nightgowns with fuzzy coats for now, so perfect for people in the mood for a slumber party!

And Shimmer is my little way of saying “I don’t care if it’s still August, it’s AUTUMN NOW”

I know this is radically different from my usual posts, but I’m kinda doing a “Miraculous Detox”. Stepping away from the show for a while and giving some attention to the other things I love. Like dolls and My Little Pony. Because I’m a toddler in a grown woman’s body XD.

Hi! I was wondering what type of doll rerooting hair results in the nicest look and feel? I am new to it and unsure. Where do you order the rerooting hair? And what size rerooting needle would I want to order for dolls like Ever after high? Thank you!

Hi! For Ever After High and MH I’m using size 7 needles and I prefer Nylon hair because it’s lighter and the result can be more natural than Saran. If you want a fuller look, I recomment Saran hair. You can use natural fibers such as mohair or alpaca hair for a very natural look. I order my needles from thedollhairemporium.co.uk but I’m sure you can find rerooting needles on Etsy too or other related webpages.

Finally working on giving justice to G3 Clawdeen since Mattel hates her so.

The braids look black in this lighting, but they are actually dark brown. I plan on adding some purple accents once the hair I ordered arrives (this hair was repurposed from an LOL OMG).

Let's talk about Frankie's yellowing hair problem.

It's unfortunately not the glue seepage as it's also happening to g2, which did away with the dreaded glue head. Saran is already an off-white when it's white, and it wasn't that noticeable at first, especially against her green skin. There is also the fact that I prefer the off-white to the stark white for most of their dolls.

This is a lineup of g1 original elastic hips Frankie, g2 from the dance line, g3 that I got for Christmas, and a g3 skultimate secrets I picked up around Halloween I think? Maybe longer.

The g3 SS doll, as you can see, has the whitest hair of the lot even if it's older [has been outside and in sunlight more. Idk when the batches were made] Then the g3 basic. That's because they unfortunately have polypropylene. I don't have any dolls with white poly hair, so I don't know how long it's going to stay that bright, but I'm willing to bet it lasts longer than the saran.

That being said, I think I still prefer the saran for now due to texture and how well the fiber holds. I will say against their new blue skin tone, the yellow stands out a bit more imo.

Just a wild comparison shot to g1 Frankie

Now some of you who want to avoid yellowing hair might think "Oh, but what about nylon?

Well I wondered this too so I wnt and grabbed my Rainbow High dolls with white hair to check it out and we'll it doesn't seem so bad but it's also not as old as G1 but there is a noticeable difference between Heather and Amaya who are about 3 years apart, though Amaya is a rescue who had been previously played with. So that might factor in some.

Though notably amaya and g3 Frankie have similar shades of white currently so we're already staring off brighter with Nylon as she came out around 2019.

Miss De Nile's reroot is done, and she is my FAVORITE to date.

she's a blend of a few different sarans from shimmerlocks; Maelstrom Blue, Sandy Blonde, and Warm Cocoa.

I wasn't super in love with her original one shade situation, and since it was poly it had to go. The blonde and blue give her such an icy sheen I think it works for her ♡

I'll have to pause my reroots for now, I'm waiting on the rest of my hair to get in from Australia 🇦🇺
