The Collective
Called the Collective, the being is the leader of a cult that resides around landfills and sewers. Through player interference, its revealed that the Collective is a swarm of cranium rats, their minds united together to form a singular entity. The cranium rat swarm is tied together by their tails, just like a rat king.
Type & Motivation: Queen (to posses and control)
Supernatural powers
Superior intelect
Telekenysis
Telepathy
Mental dominion
Grant sentience
Attacks and armour
Mental lash (1 harm far ignore armor
Object throw (1-3 harm far or close)
How much harm will kill it.
Together: 20 +1 new cranium rat added | individual: 1
Any weaknesses it has
Sensory overload will cause the Collective to lose control over their mental dominion
Breaking up the Collective's entanglement and force them to scatter will lessen its collective thoughts, and become more individualized and lower intelligence.
The cranium rats must then be killed off before they escape. A single 1 can create more Cranium Rats whenever possible.
Custom moves for its powers
Mental Dominion: The Collective takes hold of human bodies and minds so it may venture out into the human world unbothered. Hunters targetted by the mental dominion must roll +Weird. On a 10+, they are able to shut the Collective out for the rest of the mystery. On a mix, they get a choice: they can resist the control and have to roll again in the future, or they can give in and be controlled; if they choose the latter, have them mark experience. On a miss, they are fully under the Collective's control. They take -2 ongoing on any rolls against the Collective or against any of the cultists/minions. The Keeper can allow them to break free from the hold by rerolling +weird, using a luck point, or having a magically-inclined hunter roll Use Magic.
Grant Sentience: the Collective can grant sentience to any low intelligence animal, boosting said animal's intelligence until the brain nearly splits the skull. Granting sentience to rats either adds them to the Collective, becomes fierce fighters in the lair, or are delegated to minor rat king colonies to turn into moving golems.
------
Minion: Swarm Golem
A mass of rats that form together to form a humanoid shape. Whenever it's struck, rats explode from the spot hit, whether in one piece or not. They guard where the Collective's den is located.
Type & Motive: Brute (to intimidate & attack)
Supernatural powers, if any
Great strength
Keen smell
Regeneration (via more rats swarming on it)
Attacks and armour
Slam (2 harm hand)
Rat-bite punch (1 harm hand)
How much harm will kill it
10
------
Minion: Rat Spies
Single rats that run about the town/city, gathering info for the Collective when the human informants don't suffice.
Type & Motive: Scout (motivation: to stalk, watch, and report)
Attacks and armour
Rat bite (1 harm hand)
How much harm will kill it
1
------
Minion: Human Cultists
Humans that either worship The Collective willingly or are under its mental dominion. They bring sacrifices for the Collective in order to sustain it, or they sacrifice themselves.
Type and motivation: Renfield (motivation: to push victims towards the monster)
Attacks and armour
Sharpened Knife (2 harm close messy)
How much harm will kill it

Well I am back on my little nightmares hyperfixation and now I am making my own monsters.
And I just thought, throughout the games most monsters were obssessed by something and hated kids, but what about a monster who is obssessed by kids ?
A sort of toxic mother who desesperatly want childrens to "take care" of. Who will lure the kids with songs, treats, plushies and promise of safety. Who will actually protect them from the outside world but preventing them from ever leaving.
A monster with an apparent kindness but will get incredibly mad for the slightest "misbehaving", who will lash out and be violent everytime one of the kids do not fit her unrealistic expectation of being a "perfect child".
So yeah it's just a bunch of random idea in my head, need to put some order into that.

A giant monster who is a big jelly cube, perpetually angry, screaming with rage, eager to destroy the world. Completely unstoppable, immortal, capable of consuming everything in his way. But it can only move 1 meter every month.
The nearest city is 15 kilometers away.
It will take 1250 years until it get there.
I don't know what to do with this, but it is something I thought about

i think more vampires need to bite deep sea sharks or just sharks in general, i think a shark going "bleh bleh bleh i vant to drink your blood" or asking to be let into a coral reef would be hillarious, but also a shark that can turn into a bat means that as long as they're in batform they can hide in caves at day time and if they're fresh water tollerant like a bullshark we could have vampire sharks fighting goth wearwolves in places sharks have no place being, like mountain creeks and the elabkrate fountains in europe

Yandere Head Canons:
Sacrificial Bride
Yandere Dragon Shifter x Princess Reader
TW: Yandere behavior, manipulation, Somniaphilia (suggested), delusional yandede, complacency, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feroc the Ferocious was the kind of dragon who would bring any silly knight to their knees. The kind of dragon that inspired legends and stories to be written in books. The kind of dragon that was larger than any castle human like could ever dream to build. The kind of dragon that could decimate a kingdom with a single breath of his fiery flames if he was angered… the dragon that your own people sacrificed you, the princess, to in order to save themselves from his wrath.
And so they bound you up and threw you before him. Your own father on his knees as he begged the great dragon for mercy in exchange for his own flesh and blood… the kingdom’s most prized beauty in exchange for peace. An offer Feroc quickly accepted before the king could utter another word!
Dragons collected beautiful treasures! Dragons hoarded their treasure in caves and abandoned castles fad from prying eyes… and unbeknownst to you, Feroc found you to be rhetorical most beautiful
For dragons, a sacrificial spouse was an ancient tradition and this was the first time he’d been offered such a perfect bride! How could he refuse you? Especially when your own people begged him so prettily? Would you beg for him just as beautifully one day?
And so you were scooped up in his ginormous talons and carried away in the sky to a lone tower deep in the mountains. Your new home… your home with Feroc.
You could recall how scared of him you used to be. You’d heard from many people of how this giant scaled beast before you was a man eater. Of how he swallowed many knights in his time… yet this dragon seemed so shy from your experience so far. Skittish even.
Feroc often brought you various jewelry and fine silks from his daily raids. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t bring you a gift of some kind. His molten eagerly studied your form despite his persistent silence. Feroc’s company disturbed you as much as it comforted you.
It took a month for him to speak to you. His accent was heavy from the olden tongue he spoke but he knew the same language you spoke. His voice was booming and low, it could easily strike terror in others… but for some reason, his voice calmed you. Perhaps loneliness has finally crept its fangs into your heart? You weren’t sure…
Feroc would bring you anything you wanted to eat. Within means, of course. He’d bring you delicacies he’d likely looted off some poor caravan if you said you wanted sweets. There was no extremes he wouldn’t go to for you, which was odd since he was a dragon who’s been around for hundred of years… why did Feroc have such an interest in a human princess?
One day, you had a nightmare of a man standing in the corner of your room. Your scream in the night quickly alerted your guardian who peaked his large eye in your room in worry.
“Princess? What’s wrong?”
“I just had a nightmare… I thought there was a man in my room.” You wiped the sweat from your forehead while Feroc clicked his tongue.
“No man could ever scale his tower. I’m the only one who can enter. I’d never let anyone harm you.” The red and black dragon grumbled, his molten eyes glanced you once over. “Why? Do you… want a human companion?”
“I do get lonely sometimes.” You admitted to Feroc . His eyes now filled with hurt. “I do enjoy your company but… I miss being able to touch another human.”
Feroc didn’t understand your sentiment. He was a might dragon! The strongest of his kind! Feroc has proven himself to be the best of mates to you and yet you were still displeased? Was it because he was a dragon? Would you be happier if he showed you his other form?
“I’ll figure something out then… get some sleep.”
Feroc now snuck in your bedroom when you slept. He ghosted his clawed fingers over your oblivious form in wonder. His clawed fingers were too sharp, he’d have to dull them more… he didn’t want to cut up his pretty princess!
Feroc’s gentle touches progressed when he noticed how heavy of a sleeper you were. His desire to see what made you human drove him to insatiable heights. No area was left unexplored with his eyes. He needed to be perfect. Feroc had to be compatible with you. You and him were going to have young one day, after all! Feroc didn’t want to harm you in the process!
Feroc was able to mold his body into a perfect man. Once that was the perfect size for you, yet still immense so you’d know it was him. Feroc now stood at a massive seven feet tall rather than the hundred feet of his dragon form.
Yet there was a constant fear within him that you’d die of old age or of natural causes… Feroc knew humans were fragile creatures so he did what he had to. Feroc shared half of his heart with you while you slept. It was a simple spell and a painless procedure for you. One that would benefit the both do you in the long run!
If one of you died, the other would! You’d never age! You now shared a lifespan with him. Feroc couldn’t wait to tell you once the two of you made everything official!
It took another month for him to reveal this perfect form to you. Feroc had to let the excitement die down from sharing his heart with you so you didn’t freak out! Humans were such finicky creatures, after all! And he’d be an awful mate if he frightened you with a subject you had no knowledge on…
All you needed was to see this devilishly beautiful form of his and you’d be bewitched.
“Look at us… we’re so beautiful together.” Feroc whispered into the skin of your shoulder as he admired your reflection beside him. “I think I’ll find you more gold to decorate you with, my treasure.”
“Feroc, I don’t understand.” You jump when Feroc dragged his forked tongue across your exposed shoulder.
“You accepted all of my gifts and you’re the only one who suits me.” Feroc hissed his obsidian eyes flashed a bright gold. “Wouldn’t you rather be by my side than in my stomach?”
You gulped and obediently rested your head on his chest which made him purr in contentment. His muscular arms wrapped around yours as his wavy black hair tickled your skin.
“I’m joking, I’d never eat you.” Feroc smiled before he pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. “You’re my bride, after all.”
You didn’t need to know about how many knights he’s killed over the last few months for you. Feroc would take care of you until the day the both of you died. Every heinous act he’s ever committed over these last few months we’re all for his beautiful, blushing bride.

Please link it if you've already done it, but I'd love to see your interpretation of a 'House of Leaves' or similar liminal space into a mystery. Specifically, the idea of a mundane space that goes on forever or infinitely repeats.
It's a lengthy book if you haven't already read it, but I'm sure there are plenty of youtube videos dissecting it. 'The Backrooms' is a diluted meme version of it, if you've heard of that.
You rule, and thank you for the years of great ideas and resources!
So i had not read House of Leaves, but it is on my bucketlist of "to-read" books when i have time. I'll try my best to make a spooky, liminal space phenomenon
------------
Phenomenon: 495 North Boulevard
Type: Bubble (motive: to keep those that enter from leaving)
The strange one-story house seems to sit comfortably in this boulevard. No one remembers when it appeared, as all who lived there seemingly believe it's been there ever since they've moved in. Those that move into the home mysteriously vanish, and those that knew them forget they even existed- even their own parents and family members. Stranger still, no one knows who is even selling it, as those that gain possession of it do so by next to kin.
This quaint house starts normal at first, but after a week it will open up more of itself, opening up a doorway leading to a strange hallway.
The deeper the hunters go, the bleaker and darker the hallway and rooms become. The rooms become more hostile, and may even separate the hunters from each other.
Power:
Seemingly infinite structural generation
Insanity inducement
Isolation
Hallucination inducement
Constantly watching
Weakness: Documentation can be found within the Children's Room (listed below) if the hunters are able to find them, that the House had mistakenly forgotten to hide away. The documents were written by one of the previous tenants, one that thought it best to write down info of their expedition and leave the pages behind. In it is a map detailing a way through the dark maze that can reach a "key" that will allow the individual to leave.
In order to stop the House from taking more individuals, one must cause a circuit breaker fire. However, the hunters must find the key to escape before they do so, lest they find their demise within the fires themselves.
Custom Moves:
The Keeper gets to draw out how the house will be laid out before the start of the mystery. The vast majority of the rooms are blank and empty, with the deeper they delve the darker it gets. While they may decide how the house will be laid out, even past the Hallway, there are key rooms that must be in place:
The Circuit room: the room is usually the last the hunters will run into. It's a tight room similar to that of a laundry room. On the wall is the circuit breaker. Messing with it won't outright cause the fire, but hunters must roll +sharp to figure out how to set it up to do so. On a 10+, they can make it go on a timer so it'll break once they are safely out of the house. On a miss, it'll be on a timer, but it'll break midway through escaping. On a miss, it'll break immediately and they will have to escape right away... if they have the key that is.
Key room: the room looks like a closed garage- shelving with boxes on them, big red toolbox, a broken down car of unknown make, and other things. Smells like oil and grease. The key is located within the car, which is locked on the inside. The hunters have to open the car without setting the alarm off. If the alarm goes off, the House will proceed to have the next several rooms be misleading and fully attempt to separate the hunters from each other, even attempting to make them drop the Key. Hunters must roll Act Under Pressure to attempt opening the car.
Children's room: even without lights, the walls are brightly colored with crayon drawings made by that of a little kid. The carpet is soft, and there's a toy chest. The bed is small, made for a 5 or 6 year old, with old dolls and teddy bears resting on the dusty sheets. The closet is hard to open, as if something is blocking it. The smell in the room is that of rot. No roll is needed to open the closet- inside is that of skeletal remains of children, no older than 12. The toy box contains a few coloring books that detail drawings and writings from the previous children there, listing their misgivings and fears they experienced before their demise in the House.
Master Bedroom: A minimalistic room with only a dresser, a king sized bed, and a mirror. The mirror reflects nothing in the room. The flooring is hard. There is the smell of rot. Just like the children's room, the closet is hard to open, as it holds some of the skeletal remains of the adults... but not all. The bedroom has scratch marks, as if those trapped in it desperately wanted out.
Insanity inducement: Those that stay long in the winding halls of the House will feel themselves going mad. If a hunter feels something gnawing at the back of their heads, have them roll +sharp. On a 10+, they manage to stuff down the feeling and aren't affected by the insanity inducement. On a mix, they feel a little paranoid about the party. They feel like one of them might be conspiring against the other, or maybe they might be working with the House- they take -1 ongoing if they try to help out another hunter. On a miss, the house has given them temporary madness- they will actively work against the hunters interest. If a hunter says one thing, they will follow the opposite (example: one hunter wants to move forward, the insane hunter runs backwards). Can only be cured with a Use Magic roll, but they will have to continue rerolling after being cured to further prevent insanity.
Hallucination inducement: The hunters will see things in the corners of their eyes that are not truly there. To stave off these visions, have the hunters roll +sharp. On a 10+, they overcome the visions and will not have to reroll the rest of the mystery. On a mix, they overcome it temporarily- they will have -1 forward on any actions on what they perceive is real, but also can attempt to reroll... after a while anyways. On a miss, they truly believe what they see is real. They feel everything the hallucination does to them- use the Hallucination stat block below. They can be cured with a Use Magic roll, but even after curing they will have to reroll to permanently avoid the hallucinations.
The Hallucinations
These hallucinations do not actually hurt those that do not see them- they only harm those that do.
Type: Brute (Motive: to intimidate and attack)
Powers:
Can only be seen by those affected by hallucinations. Said hallucinations can look like whatever the keeper wants them to, especially if they tie into the Hunter's history.
Can phase through walls
Always hunting
Always watching
Hovers over other hunters or loved ones in an attempt to make the afflicted hurt them.
Harm: None
Weakness: Use Magic on the hunter affected by it can make it go away.

Has anyone made a monster that’s obsessed with tattoos and steals people’s skins so it can have more?
Feels like could be fun, like a cheesy PSA mixed with a yokai
