Create the Green Knight for D&D 5e in 10 Easy Steps
Use the troll stat block on page 291 of the Monster Manual.
Change his type to fey.
And his alignment to neutral.
Raise his INT, WIS and CHA scores to 14, 15 and 18 respectively.
Add Common, Druidic, Elvish and Sylvan to his languages.
Give him a greataxe.
And a suit of half plate armor.
Use the Loathsome Limbs variant.
Remember! He regains 10 hit points on his turn, even at 0 hit points.
He can also reattach severed body parts, such as his head.
For his horse, use the giant elk stat block (page 325). No Monster Manual? No problem! Both the troll and giant elk are in the free Basic Rules (link). Loathsome Limbs is omitted, but isn’t essential.

Monster March - Myconid
Had to do more than one version since fungi is such fun inspiration to design from. The first was super fun to design, I imagine that their body has detached from the ground and its veil acts as tentacles for mobility. The second is basically just high fashion fungi HAHA Well that'll be it for Monster March! Was super fun to draw some monsters as I rarely do any creature design. If you are looking for a 30 day challenge I highly recommend Matt John's Adventure April that I did a few years back! Was lots of fun!

“Ropers live in caverns preying on all types of creatures, but preferring humans.  They are gray and cigar-shaped and look like a stalagmite when standing up and resemble a boulder when lying down.”  (Erol Otus illustration from AD&D Monster Cards 2, TSR, 1982)  Otus stays true to his own style in his illustration but also seems to be referencing the AD&D Monster Manual text: “This yellowish gray monster appears to be a mass of foul, festering corruption.”  Most descriptions emphasize that ropers can change shapes, resembling stalagmites only when it fits the environment as camouflage.  In that form they may resemble inverted piercers, but the two creatures weren’t related officially until 5th edition.

Can we all agree that the Star Spawn were fucking robbed in the transition from D&D 4e to 5e?
Cause like, in 4e they were terrifying monstrous projections of stars, each type based on a different star, manifested upon the Prime Material to do their horrible will when the rogue star Allabar (Who had boss stats) passed before them.
In 5e they were just Moderately Fucked Up Eldritch Not-Goblins. Not even original Moderately Fucked Up Eldritch Not-Goblins at that, they took the Foulspawn from 4e and just gave ‘em the name of a way better monster!

The Androsphinx from TSR’s 1982 Monster Card Set. This guy is pretty stacked. He attacks with both paws doing 2d6 damage each. Then there’s his three successive roars, the first one causes panic for three rounds on a failed save vs wands, the second paralyzes for 1-4 rounds on a failed save vs petrification, on a failed save vs spells, the third roar drains 2d4 points of strength and must save vs breath weapons or be knocked down and stunned for 2d6 rounds, and take 2d8 damage. Ironically, even surrounding stone must make a save vs petrification or suffer a crack.

Beholders are the evil masterminds of dnd, truly cunning and brilliantly intelligent narcissists with a hella spooky look using 11 eyes all with different magical effects. So how did I try to make my beholder design unique when it’s already such a good design? Just gave it a top had and a moustache.
